The build-your-own concept that Bellini's offers is intriguing, but on this day I just wanted a nice salad with grilled chicken without much of a wait. The Lean and Green salad listed on the menu fit the bill. There was an impressive amount of vegetable variety and it seemed quite fresh. The chicken wasn't bad though some of it was a bit dry. After all, the lunchtime rush was already over, so it was overcooking a bit. I asked for dressing on the side and I was given some sort of yogurt dressing which I liked. The portions were generous. I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. I also ordered the Beans and Greens. Making it well is a tall order because I've always believed the deliciously garlicky Greens and Beans that my husband makes is the best. I was puzzled by Bellini's version. I think there's an extra ingredient--perhaps it's balsamic vinegar--that makes it an acquired taste. Steak is on the menu, but the staff says it is cooked to order and takes an extra 10 minute wait. Important to know. The staff was young, welcoming and remarkably polite. They "yes, ma' am," a lot. Since the restaurant is so close to SUNY Albany, it would not be surprising if they were students. Some of the young customers definitely looked like students. The restaurant is clean, no frills and modern. There's quite a bit of seating.

Note the neither bottle in the picture had tamper-proof caps that split in two.

I see from the other reviews that the quality at the Stuyvesant Plaza location is inconsistent. We must have been there on a good night. We had a wrap and a bowl. The chicken was grilled just right, the veggies had just a touch of crispness, and our two sauces were tasty. The Alfredo sauce was a bit oily, next time I would order half as much. The only real issue was that the two bottles of water we purchased had twist off caps whose lower halves did *not* split from the upper caps. They were not tamper proof. See photo. Maybe that's the way that Aquafina is sold now, but while I was traveling in India I was cautioned not to drink the water from bottles with one piece caps because they could be re-filled and re-used by unscrupulous vendors. Not sure this is the case with Bellini's Counter. Either way, I poked tiny holes in our bottles. That way, if you're eating at Bellini's Counter and notice water leaking out of your Aquafina bottles, you'll know where they've been.

A measly bowl of spinach, cucumber, a sprinkle of roasted veggies, artichokes and tomato, for $7.50? It tasted fairly good with the basil pesto dressing, but the limited quantity of food just didn't make sense to me (see photo).

Nothing worse than an old salad This isn't the first time. I understand produce can't always stay at its freshest but at least try and pick out the bad pieces before serving. Service was slow No forks

The restaurant is clean and bright and comfortable. You can order either from the kiosk at the side, or at the counter - and they're really helpful at the counter. I crafted a bowl with grilled chicken. I was expecting the chicken to have a slightly stronger flavor, but all the extra items in the bowl plus the sauces I requested really enhanced the flavor. I'm a big fan of their hummus, and I'm almost addicted to their house white sauce, which has just the right amount of garlic in it. Their cucumber mint iced tea also has a great flavor, though I do find it a bit sweet. Be aware that it might take a few minutes for your order to be ready. Bowls with cooked ingredients will take slightly longer. Plus, they are already doing a huge take-out business, so you can't judge only by the number of customers sitting in the restaurant. This is a wonderful addition to the area, and I look forward to many more meals here.

As I waited for the hostess she was clearly overwhelmed and couldn't eek out a smile to any of the people she greeted. In the lively restaurant, a few tables of girls-night out, birthday dinners, couples both young & old, bar seating with the World Cup on TV. Our server was very pleasant. The food was good, by Albany standards, heavy on the butter, salt and cream. It wasn't bad but for me they could pull back on the richness and let the herbs/mushrooms/fish/etc shine through. 2 out of the 3 us intentionally only ate half our portions, planning to eat the rest "tomorrow" and told the server we wanted to box them togo. She offered to do that for us, while we were happily chatting, sipping the rest of our wine. When the boxes didn't reappear, the server apologized that someone threw the boxes away. It was disappointing, especially when we paid $25-28 dollars for our plates of pasta. Based on the overworked hostess and server, management needs to adjust their staffing to insure a better customer experience. When they toss out leftovers, not just a single bite, but huge plate of food, it would seem appropriate to provide a "peace offering" perhaps put a small dessert togo or certificate for a free appetizer on a future visit. If I was local I'd probably return.

It's been forever…read moresince I've been at a mall, but there was plenty of parking despite the rainy weather, and we got into here quickly for a table for dinner. Their dessert case right in front of the entrance was taunting me.... We were seated and greeted by Sang Jun, who was fantastic. It turns out that we are all Korean, we figured that out at the end of the meal but he was amazing as a server. Never needed to ask for anything, made several recommendations, and we had a really great meal and evening. The menu is giant! Come hungry for sure! I started out with a margarita flight, which was not only beautiful, but delicious. We started out with the ahi tuna nachos, which was delicious and beautiful. Scallions, tuna, fried wonton skins as chips, jalapeños and sauce that made it all worth every calorie. I ignored the jalapeños, but still inhaled the tuna and everything else. Crowd pleaser for sure. My nephew got the salmon special, served with sweet potatoes. I ordered the bang bang shrimp and chicken that came with lo mein. The sauce was a Thai curry base and has veggies and was literally inhale-able. I ate the proteins (cooked perfectly) and some of the noodles, then ended up eating the leftover noodles the next morning. Still just as good cold out of the fridge! My brother got the ramen. They were out of the pork (or it was off the menu) so he went with the beef. That looked so good, bowl was filled to brim with noodles, garnishes, and beef. It was perfect since he wasn't feeling well. My nephew decided halfway thru his salmon dish he wanted a side Caesar salad and Sang Jun brought one tha looked like it was made for the Internet. Well plated and giant portion. We were absolutely stuffed so we had no room for desserts, even though they looked so good in the cooler walking in. We had a nice discussion with SJ about our family trip to Korea last summer, telling him about some of the most embarrassing moments and getting a good laugh. I guess this is a chain, but I hope that I see one again. I'll be ready to have the same exact thing, or try something new- I'm sure it will be amazing. Thanks to the team and Sang Jun for a memorable meal here in Albany!
