Build your own bowl

Always an excellent meal. Great Mediterranean food with a variety of bowls. They do a great vanilla cardamom coffee and baklava. They've also had some delicious soups. We go frequently and our daughter is there weekly when she is in college at the University of Albany.

Big chicken shawarma bowl with some pickled peppers and onions. Plenty of food.

Excellent food, the line was fast even during dinner rush. The employees are very efficient and kind. I only wish there was outdoor seating because it was nice out. Indoor ambiance is good, but pretty cramped because the line was out the door.

One of the most delightful local chains in the Capital Region! Very reasonably priced food with fresh, delicious ingredients. Cute branding and great service. Definitely get the lentils!

Simone's Kitchen is a Mediterranean inspired fast casual restaurant in Albany. The interior alone makes you feel as if you're somewhere in Greece. I got the falafel bowl which I enjoyed. They also have some really nice fresh juices that were very tasty! Overall highly recommend!

Make your own- vegetarian. I did black lentils and tofu for loads of protein. Excellent toppings!!

Excellent bowl options for vegetarians. I used black lentils instead of rice or couscous to up my protein, plus harissa tofu, which was a nice portion. You get choice of small salad topping like tabbouleh, then more toppings like olives. And then more toppings including hummus and dressing!! Very tasty- couldn't finish it all, and I usually can. Small slice moist side bread in foil, too. Total about $17 with tip.

What a gem! We loved our make your own bowls here, the employees were so nice helping us select toppings and sauces. Everything tasted exceptionally fresh and delicious. There are truly options for everyone here. Ordering was easy and there were plenty of tables inside or easy to take the food to go as well. We can't wait to return and have told others to check it out. The portions are perfect.

Big Chicken Shawarma

Good recommendation from a coworker! This place is like chipotle but just Mediterranean choices. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl. Basically has chicken, white basmati rice which i love, fresh veggie, potatoes, garlic sauce and you have choice if spicy or not. I chose spicy. I would say this is really yummy. It is just a bit salty, not sure if the chicken or sauce. They give you a side of pita bread which is perfect to dip in the sauce or make it a sandwich. Im excited to try the other varieties they have. The service is great. The place looks really nice. It's something you could meet up with friends. Could be fast food but with class. Conveniently located by the Stuyvesant Plaza.

I've been on the search for a place like Mezeh which is in the city and Simone's kitchen definitely satisfies my cravings for a Mediterranean bowl! I'm glad they brought a location so close by in Stuyvesant plaza. The food is great and they have a good variety of choices to add into your bowl! The side of pita is also good too! My friends tried their small plates and baklava which looked delicious and I know I'll definitely be back again! All the workers were so friendly and the restaurant is so cute and open for casual eating with friends!

My wife and I were strolling through Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany and, by chance, came upon this restaurant which is new to the Plaza. The staff was extremely friendly. They were willing to modify any of their standard items to comply with our special requests. I ordered a (modified) chicken wrap and it was fantastic. Extremely fresh and quite tasty. My wife ordered Kale Tabbouleh and she weighed in on how terrifically good it was - again very fresh and tasty. The dining area is fairly large but broken up into a couple of areas. There are a lot of windows and we don't recommend sitting by one as it was cold that day and pretty cold by the window. So, the food was great. The selection was large. The staff very friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend this new restaurant (new to Albany - they do have a couple of other locations in other cities). If you like Mediterranean cuisine you will not be disappointed. here.

Left to right: Lahm-Ajeen , Keftedes, and Tahini truffle.

Very clean place with delicious food and some vegan items which is always a bonus. Prices are a tad high but the food is really good here.

The color scheme is amazing, and the service is second to none. They move efficiently throughout the restaurant; they don't have just one person assigned to each table but use a group approach, and you can order at the table with the app, which is cool. Bartender Benny was great! The food, I'll say, was fair. I do believe the prices don't fully reflect the quality, but the overall feel is great. The champagne machine is a great touch, so that was unique. This is a very upscale brunch, but it's worth the hype for the decor. Parking is not the easiest, but it's worth it.

This lot is rocky and wet but the main lot was full and circling back on Western Ave was not fun. Saturday at 130pm was a busy time and I was unable to find a table. There was a seating area with three dingy white chairs and a small low top table where I was able to sit. The chairs need to be re- upholstered! The stains are so noticeable on the white fabric. I started to order using the QR code but it was involved so simply order at the counter. The server will give you a table number and you can relax before your order is delivered. My coffee drink was served incorrectly in a to go container despite having an in house table marker and having my food brought to me. I waited in line at the counter and asked if my drink order was correct? The sever asked if I liked espresso?? I replied by showing him the display picture of the drink and his response was Oh we were out of glasses. The pastry was fluffy and crusty but not as substainal as it appears before you take a bite. Despite the service issue the items I ordered were well flavored and delicious . I would return and try a full menu item.

Could they really be open on Easter Sunday? It seemed too good to be true. A great cup of caffeine was just what I needed at that very moment. So my friend and I crossed Madison Avenue and peeked into the tinted windows. Not only were they open, but the place was bustling. The inside of Jacob Alejandro is elegant and beautifully decorated. Furniture, plants, music and wall art are arranged to set moods. It feels more like a club than a coffee house. The baristas are super friendly, helpful and patient. As I tried to make up my mind on what to order, they offered suggestions. I wound up with matcha. I think my friend had some kind of latte. I remember both beverages were delicious. They were made to be savored slowly. We took in our surroundings and it was very relaxing. We'll visit again. Thanks Jacob Alejandro for a nice experience.

The show stopper was the unexpected drink my daughter ordered; the Toffee Coffee. Super smooth, iced, refreshing and surprisingly something I would go back for. The drink I wanted was sold out so I need to come back and hopefully they will have the items to make it!

Somehow, I managed to beat the rush. I sat down to drink my latte and people-watch. It's been several years since I visited Professor Java's. It's still on Wolf Rd but it moved into the Shopper's Park. It's still extremely dark despite many overhead hanging lights with low wattage incandescent bulbs. A bit depressing. Suited for people who don't like sunlight. I had been shopping on Wolf Rd. I hadn't had my morning cup of coffee yet. I wanted to get a great latte, then sit and savor it a bit. I did not want to be at a major chain though I generally don't have many objections to them. I would have liked soy milk in my latte but they didn't carry it. So I settled for almond milk. The latte was strong, dark and foamy. The wait was minimal after placing my order. I expected to pay a premium for this experience. My medium latte was 16 oz and cost $6 before adding tip, which put it over $7. It's a bit more than some businesses charge though in LA I've paid $10. I know coffee. I've had better lattes but this one was a good solid medium latte. Not bitter. Plus, no one was rushing me to get out. There was plenty of seating. The staff is very nice and chill. So I enjoyed my alone time of latte and contemplation. There were cheesy Christmas songs playing. The place has an excellent sound system so there was no tuning this stuff out. Breakfast is served all day. Maybe I could do breakfast here someday if I'm in another reflective mood.
