I am very picky when it comes to someone servicing, repairing or upgrading my Apple devices. Recently, I needed someone to transfer data from my PC to my new Mac Mini. I did quite a bit of research online which included looking at Yelp reviews. I narrowed my search down to a few companies. I ended up selecting Core Care which is an authorized Apple service provider. Casey, who is the owner, assisted me with my data transfer. My experience with Casey is as follows: 1. CUSTOMER SERVICE - He was pleasant, friendly and caring. He went out of his way to answer all of my questions. Also, he spent a lot of time with me. I never felt rushed. 2. CASEY'S KNOWLEDGE - His knowledge of Apple devices was "incredible". I was impressed with his considerable experience too. I don't think there was a question that he couldn't answer. I felt like I was talking to Steve Jobs. 3. COMPUTER SERVICE RATES - The service rate I was charged was very reasonable. I didn't feel like I was being "ripped off". As a customer, the thing I really liked about Core Care is that I didn't have to make an appointment. So, all I did was walk in. I brought my MacBook Pro for a battery replacement and was told they had to order the battery and it will take 5 business days. Two weeks later I called and was told they would get a battery for me within a day or two. Another two weeks went by and I called. They looked up my account and said there was something wrong and would call me back. I told them that I needed my computer for work and was going on the road. No call back. There are other options to get your repairs done. This is not that place. They seem not too know what is going on but will tell you differently. read more

Core Care waited 19 days to ship my computer to Apple for a battery replacement that was estimated to take 2-3 weeks. The staff lied to me and said it was a delay on Apple's end and said the ticket showed they didn't have the materials needed and that the hurricane was causing additional delays. My Mac is part of the battery recall and once I learned they were banned from flights I decided I would just bite the bullet and get it done. I run my Coaching business 100% from my laptop, so I batched my work so I could do most of my work from my phone and delayed everything else I could, expecting I'd have it back the first week of September. I chose Core Care because I thought it would be quicker, the next available Apple store appointment was 5 days later and I could avoid a trip to the mall. I dropped off my Mac on the evening of August 16th and was told I should have it back in 2-3 weeks. I called on August 28th to check on the status and was told it had been tested on the 23rd but had no further updates. This gave me the impression it was at Apple already, but that was not the case. I called again on September 4th and they were unable to give me any further information. We called Apple with our serial number and they were unable to find it in the system after trying several searches. We were told to get the Apple repair order # and they would be able to find it that way. I called back again on September 6th; this is now 3 weeks after I dropped it off. The person who answered the phone couldn't give me any info, and put me on hold to talk to the Tech. The Tech told me that Apple had a message on the account saying the hurricane is causing some delays, he would check and call me back. I waited 4 hours and didn't get a call back. I called again and the Tech was unavailable, so I asked for the Apple repair order #, which I was given. Saturday September 7th, I called Apple to get the status, they were able to find my computer with the serial number, but the woman I was talking to was unable to give me much info. She said it looked like they had a shipping order on August 30th, but it looked like that was to the facility not to the store. She transferred me to a supervisor. After looking through all the notes, it appears the repair order was requested on August 30th, exactly 2 weeks after they received my computer and 2 days after my first call. My computer is still in transit to the Apple facility it left the store on September 4th, the same day as my 2nd call. Unfortunately it appears the store is closed this weekend, so I won't be able to get their side of the story, but I don't know how they will explain the bold face lie by the Tech I talked to on Friday, who said it was a delay on Apple's end and blamed it on the storm and material delays. read more

I purchased my MacBook Air around September of last year, and around December I cracked my screen. After calling apple and reading online, I was expecting to pay $800 for a new screen. I didn't have that kind of money, especially after buying the laptop only 3 months prior. I pushed it off as I've had other bills to pay, and I finally saved up enough to get my computer fixed. I went back and fourth debating whether or not I should just buy a new computer all together... Fast forward to today, I went online and told myself to go in and see what the damage would be. Since March of this year, like so many others I have been working from home using my personal computer. A few weeks ago I noticed that my 2017 MacBookPro had expanded and no longer was sitting flat on my desk. After a little bit of research I realized the battery was expanding in the case. I reached out to Apple as my laptop is thankfully still under warranty, but they were unable to help due to the temporary store closures. Apple sent me to CoreCare and I am so grateful they did. Casey was a tremendous help and did everything he could to help me get back up and running. CoreCare ordered the part from Apple and needed me to leave the laptop at their location until it came in. Uh, what?? A week without my laptop during this period seemed completely crazy. Casey offered a workable solution. At Casey's suggestion, I purchased a refurbished laptop in the interim and migrated my data from my latest back-up, which took quite some time, but once complete I was able to get back to work. Casey was extremely helpful in solving a handful issues I had with the refurbished Mac and before I knew it my laptop had been repaired. CoreCare allowed me to return the refurbished laptop for the amount paid. I am truly grateful for the amazing service I received at Core Care, not only was my laptop repaired, but I was offered a "loaner" Mac so that I could continue to work and Casey shared all kinds of valuable Mac wisdom that I would not have known had I not been directed there. All I can say is wow.. these guys were amazing ! First off apple gave me wrong information in regards to what they would do for me with phone issues. I get there and the guy text my phone and it's bad so he overnights a new one to me (thank you Chris) tell me it will be there in the morning. Well morning comes I wait a bit after they open and call, still no phone ol no biggie it's it's the season for busy time for fed ex and ups. So I fall afternoon still not there (kinda freaking out) by 5pm I call frantic because I drive from auburn and don't want to be that jerk that walks in right before they close, well fed ex didn't even attempt to deliver my phone... the excuse was not enough drivers... well that's no okay when someone overnights something and this business was to be closed the week of Christmas .. so I'm like crap freakin out.. the manager Casey tells me he will pick it up from fed ex and meet meet me in rocklin at 7pm WOOOOOWWW!! I was having trouble with my iPhone randomly shutting down. I have AppleCare protection and the Apple website sent me to Core in Rocklin. The gentleman quickly determined that the phone needed to be replaced. Because he didn't have my phone in stock, he suggested I go to the Apple store in Roseville so I wouldn't have to wait for a phone by mail. I really appreciated this as I need my phone for work. Chris was laid back and professional in giving me a competitive price on a new hard drive install for my MacAir. The service was incredibly fast, just an hour or so turnover (which may not be typical, but usually they are able to turn it around in about a day). The new MacSales hard drive (5 year warranty) is working like a dream and they did the data transfer and encased my old drive as an exterior drive. The new drive is optimized for the latest operating system (High Sierra) and is working very fast. I am very impressed and pleased. Update: Nick, the tech guy who works with Chris, helped me do a clean install of my MS Office for Mac after the data transfer would not transfer the original certificate to use Office. Core Care is incredible. I took my MacBook Pro 2017 in for a keyboard issue and they informed me that although I was out of warranty, my computer was eligible for service covered by Mac. My computer was fixed and ready in 2 days. Casey went through the additional trouble to show me things on my Mac to help me keep it more secure (ie. malware checker), to explain proper backup techniques and hardware, and to go over a bunch of changed settings that had happened after I updated the operating system. This company well exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The guys at Core Care were great. Took my several year old MacBook Pro there. No appointment, just walked in and they got to work immediately. One part was recalled and was replaced for free. They were fine seeing if that's all it was to fix the problem. Unfortunately it was not. I'm no tech expert but it was a problem of some bad directories and my computer not being able to talk to the hard drive. Shoot, I can do that - in fact I was talking to the hard drive quite a bit when it first wouldn't work. It didn't help anything, but I don't think it liked my choice words. They tried a few things while I waited (about 15-20) to no avail. They did have to restore the drive. Luckily that worked and best of all it didn't erase any of my data, programs, etc. It was the cheapest/ fastest solution for me - along with a little luck. I had installed a SSD drive a few years back with a pretty close identical copy at home in a Mac mini. I was about to just buy a new drive, transfer data and just install it like I had in the past. This fix was cheaper than the new drive and took maybe an hour to restore. Like I said, cheapest/ fastest. Check em out if you have Mac problems. read more
