Erik and his company, Damn Computer Repair, are awesome! I was having some trouble with my WiFi dropping as well as a gnarly grinding noise from my laptop. I called Erik and he spent time on the phone with me to diagnose the issue without even asking for payment. Eventually, we believed we knew the fix, ordered parts, and set up to drop my laptop off with him as soon as the parts came. Erik was super flexible and I was able to drop off my laptop on a Saturday. He called me shortly after and it turned out the repair was a less expensive part that ended up saving me $90. He ordered the new part and had the computer repaired within two hours of it arriving. I was able to pick up my laptop the next day, during the 49ers playoff game (Erik is an avid football fan!), and I was ready to use my computer for work before Monday. Erik was super helpful, very straight forward, honest and I felt like he had my best interest in mind. I would 100% use Erik again when needing a computer related repair and you should feel very confident using Damn Computer Repair. Thanks, Erik! read more

Great guy. Has always been able to help when needed. He was able to help over the phone also. I highly recommend him.

My wi-fi adapter stopped working and I spent over an hour on the phone with Dell without a resolution. They suggested I pay 99.00 /hour to speak with their premium customer support team with no guarantee they would resolve the problem. I decided to call Eric. He responded within an hour after receiving my email. He requested one piece of information from me and within 2 minutes of receiving the additional information, he called me and sent a link to purchase the product required to fix my issue. $10.00 cost from Amazon. Eric, thank you! read more

So I had a computer problem with my laptop I use for work; it seems that my hard drive crashed I got the fatal blue screen of death. I contacted Erik and left a voicemail he got back to me within 30 minutes. I took my computer to him, he gave me a price estimate for the repair. He called me back within 30 minutes from dropping off the computer with the diagnosis. The hard drive had to be replaced and within 24 hours I was able to pick up the computer with the replaced hard drive. Overall the computer was actually working better after he replaced the hard drive then when I purchased brand new 18 months earlier. The overall performance was noticeably better and the system was a lot faster. I'm extremely happy with the services that he provided, he is very prompt, friendly, and I would highly recommend going to him if you have computer issues! read more

I called Erik and asked for a tune-up as we have several times in the past. Our computer has been getting real slow at start-up and lacking responsiveness. He conducted a diagnosis over the telephone, did a little clean-up and said that it really didn't need a tune-up, and there was no charge. He said our hard disk drive (HDDs) was outdated, and he suggested if I wanted better speed and a cooler operation we should upgrade to a solid state drive (SSD). The price was very reasonable, and as usual, Erik was right. I brought it in on Monday morning, expecting to pick-it-up on Tuesday; instead, it was done Monday afternoon. It starts almost instantly with a quick response to the mouse click. He even cleaned my keyboard, which is typing this with crisp precision. Thanks Erik. read more

Erik was incredible. A visit my home, resolve the issues quickly, and his fee was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend him for anyone experiencing computer problems... A real pleasure to deal with! read more

Wow. I have been putting off getting a spare computer repaired for a while. Windows 10 had updated on my laptop and turned it into an expensive door stop. I called Erik pretty much based on how creative I thought his business name was. Within MINUTES he picked it up, said it would be no problem and whisked it away. I didn't even ask how long he would have it, just expected it back in a week or three. Here it is, 4 hours later, and he just dropped off the clean, shiny and, most importantly, WORKING laptop. Delivered as promised? Check Exceeded expectations? Check Affordable? Check Completely blew my MIND on every point of service possible? SUPER CHECK! He will be my go-to computer guy as long as he is in the biz. Thanks, Erik! Shelley read more

My ssd hard drive on desktop computer died on me over the weekend. I looked around on yelp and called Eric based on reviews. He was polite over phone and promptly replaced my drive same day. He also helped to restore some files that I would have spent extra time copying over from other resources. Just an easy going, friendly guy that runs his business in a fair, professional manner. Thanks again. read more

My computer had started to slow down and it was frustrating the hell out of me. I did what I could but nothing seemed to work. Called Erik and he accessed my machine remotely. He found bad sectors on my hard drive. Gave me a very reasonable quote and he had my machine humming and back in my desk in under 24 hrs. (And he was not feeling well either). Great guy, great service. My new go to computer guy. Thanks Erik! read more

Bobby D. Sacramento, CA Erik, was so willing to put up with my ignorance, regarding the lose of Facebook and getting things up and running. Not just FB, but he went through everything to ensure that all was good on my PC. Moving to a new area, it is difficult to find some one you can trust, provide you with a fare price, and someone you would trust to be in your home. After a call, Erik responded within hours of to meet my computer needs. Thanks Erik read more

Erik was able to resolve my computer problem remotely, without having to come out. He said he charges $90 an hour, but didn't think it would take that long. In fact, it took him less than half an hour to fix, so he only charged me for half that, $45. Very professional and knowledgeable. I will definitely use him again in the future! read more

Erik: I appreciate the response you sent today. I agree it is hard to diagnose over the phone and suspect there was nothing but good intentions in suggesting I check prices of new machines. I am changing my review as I believe your intentions were not to have me "dump" money in to an outdated machine. I appreciate your clarification. Regards read more

I saw they hadn't had many recent reviews, so thought I'd add mine. One of our desktops - a speedy home-built machine we use for video editing - died following a W10 update, and Erik had us up & running in a day at minimal cost, no loss of data, and with pickup/dropoff service no less. They are terrific, and I *highly* recommend them. read more

This review is long over due! After years of disappointment and massive loss of money, I had very little trust in IT and Computer repair company's. I found Erik and gave him a chance with my personal computers (honestly a test) He did such and amazing job and saved me hundreds of dollars I was wasting from previous advise. At this point I turned him over to all my business computers and server. What a difference!!! He made everything work properly and 10x faster with the same equipment. Erik will always tell you exactly what needs to happen and not any "extra stuff". He is absolutely trustworthy. He is now maintaining all my equipment as needed. He has become an invaluable resource to my business. Thanks Erik read more

I bought a new computer at Staples and they were supposed to have transferred all my files and after waiting four days, I got it back and they had done nothing. But thanks to Erik and his quick response, he came right out and did what needed to be done (even with a hard drive that was going bad, he was able to get all files off). He is amazing. I highly recommend him. Thank you for a job well done and it was a pleasure doing business with you. read more

This guy is the best!! If you just want your stuff to work, right out of the box WITH NO HASSLE, then call Erik. A few years ago he set up a used laptop and printer for me (really old stuff) and got them running perfectly so that I could squeeze a couple more years out of them. Recently he set up a brand new laptop and printer for me, transferred everything over, and got everything up and running perfectly. It was a super easy, hassle-free experience. Erik responded immediately to my request for service. He permanently fixed my son's laptop in less than 24 hours - and I said no rush. Erik is extremely knowledgeable - this time (our second excellent experience with Damn Computer Repair) I actually took notes as he was sharing information about different computers I may want to look into for my own use. Erik's prices are extremely reasonable and fair - he's very upfront about cost, and sticks with the estimate. I can not recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Erik! read more

I bought a new custom built computer so needed to ensure the O/S, applications and drivers were all loaded properly. Eric came by and completed all the tasks in a surprisingly short time. Unfortunately about a week later the power supply failed. Eric suggested that instead of having them send me a new computer, to have them send me one without the hard drive, but exactly the same hardware configuration. Once it arrived all I needed to do was have Eric swap the hard drive from the first computer into the second and then return the first with the failed power supply. Great idea by Eric which saved a lot of time and money (no need to re-install all the software or new drivers). I'm a retired systems analyst and although I worked in a mainframe environment, I can tell a knowledgeable tech when I find one. I'll be calling Eric again in the future. read more
