Says he'll call later that afternoon. The next day, I had to call HIM. He tells me it needs a new motherboard (exactly what I told him when I dropped it off) and he can't have it done for another 2 weeks. TLDR; This guy is either a scammer or a complete idiot that you shouldn't let anywhere near your laptop or computer. Stay FAR away from this store!! I went in because my laptop gpu and cpu were both running high temps at sustained loads. Told him the temps of each and how the laptop was 6 years old and hadn't been maintained. I went in hoping to support local by buying thermal paste and an ifixit kit or similar from them as opposed to Best Buy or other giant retailers. I'm computer savvy enough to already know the solution and how to fix my own problems. I thought it'd be a simple transaction ONLY FOR HIM TO SAY IT NEEDED A NEW SSD AND TRY TO CHARGE ME $400 OUT THE DOOR! Needless to say the dude is either a) a scammer preying upon computer illiterate customers or b) actually an idiot. In either case, THIS STORE SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS! Here's why I say that: Hard Disk Drives (HDD) and Solid State Drives (SSD) are purely for storage. They don't do any processing and the difference between HDD and SSD's are just load times (read/write times). They have nothing to do with gpu and cpu temps running at 100°C under load. You either need to replace the thermal paste on each OR replace the respective components if new thermal paste doesn't remedy the temps. Again... storage is only for storage. So, I ended up going to Best Buy to buy myself some thermal paste and an iFixIt kit and doing the job myself. AND GET THIS - the exact same cheap 1tb SSD that he would've sold me for $400 only cost FIFTY DOLLARS. Not to mention I looked into it myself and as it turns out, immediately after unscrewing the bottom laptop panel off, the slot for the SSD is the first thing you see for most laptops. It's as simple as unplugging a ribbon, taking the old one out, putting the new one in, putting the ribbon back in and voila. So in conclusion, this guy thinks it's a fair proposition to charge $400 for a $50 SSD that'd take no more than 10 minutes to replace - EVEN WHEN that would do absolutely nothing to fix the original problem you came in for! I ended up doing everything myself for $40 AND I actually solved my problem and dropped cpu and gpu temps by 15°C each! !! KEEP YOUR MONEY AND RUN FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS !! read more

Took my computer in on Monday, I and three other customers waited 15 minutes for them to arrive after the posted 9am opening time. They kept my machine for a full week. Apparently although I was a repeat customer, I was not a priority customer. After daily calls with no progress, three days into the "diagnosis" week I was told I needed a new video card to fix. Picked computer up late Friday after a full week out of service, only to find out when I returned home that "fix" did not work. First resolution was an issue, then computer freezing (my original problem continued). Although new part was installed, same computer freeze continued. So I paid $250 for parts and labor that did not fix my problem. While Jason said I could return my pc for a fix on Friday, after a 30 minute one way drive, I showed up at 12:02 to find the store closed for lunch. So they are late to open, early to close for lunch and never fix my computer issue. My recommendation, go elsewhere!!!!! read more

(NOBODY at Netflix could solve the problem.) Enter Phil Taylor from PCS. I have to admit it took him awhile to untangle this nasty mess. Phil frowns a lot when he's thinking. He went all over the house like Sherlock Holmes solving a murder mystery, checking connections, looking for the culprit. What killed the Netflix?? Phil frowned. Then, Eureka: the app was trying to connect to the wrong cable network.
