MrGadget.com was hacked! Malware was installed. Google locked out visitors trying to access my…read moreWebsite. Oh, NO!! Shortly after discovery and anxiety over what had happened, I received a call from someone representing iLockout! I learned later that they found I had a need for their help because their software searches Google looking for my problem, no matter the size of the Website. An unconventional introduction, yes, but through pleasant conversation and my looking for anything bad about them (nothing found), I agreed to let them help as I had no idea what had happened and what to do to fix it. All was explained in greater detail because I really wanted to learn about this new scourge. Hey, I'm Mr. Gadget® who reviews and reports on consumer tech, and not a Webmaster, though I post all my own stuff. In short order, all was well, with ALL credit to iLockout, a company at the forefront of the (sadly) burgeoning business of fixing and continuous monitoring and protecting Websites from such malicious attacks. I've since vetted the company more fully. You know I'd never steer you wrong. MY reputation is also on the line here. Take it from me, they ARE the real deal. No one can fully protect against so-called Brute Force attacks, as one example, wherein bad guys bombard sites, attempting to break in and then plant their nasty seeds. iLockout recommends how to do a better job at protecting one's online presence. They can also do all the fix-it work for the client. Just as no one with any sense would operate online without anti-malware software, it is now time to protect one's Web presence in similar fashion. I am extremely satisfied with their service, for which they asked no up-front payment. I am pleased to recommend, make that URGE others to seek their counsel proactively. Talk to them BEFORE the need as prevention is lots easier than what I had to do, essentially shutting down and doing damage control. With their help and your participation (unless you want to turn it all over to them), you just might be saved from such heartache.

Three months ago I received a call from Brady at iLockout, telling me my website had been hacked…read more Several things went through my mind when I received this call, one of them being "would the hacker actually call me and offer to fix the site he hacked?!" After spending another 5 minutes on the phone with Brady I realized I was being paranoid. There are millions of hacked websites out there at anytime. Plenty of business! Anyways, these guys are great. They answered every question I had and kept me informed every step of the way. They said they would have my site off of the blacklist within 48 hours, but it actually took them less than 24. (I realize this is out of their control as Google deems when you get off but still.) Come to find out, not only do they disinfect your site, they protect it as well! Every fix comes with a year of security (daily scans of your site). They also offer up a vulnerability report to show you how they believe the hacker got in, and offer suggestions to beef up your security. Overall, I was extremely pleased, and rather lucky that these guys actually CALLED ME. I am the Marketing Director for a company that rents large digital displays to events and one of our main strengths is our internet presence. We CANNOT afford to be down for even a few days! I am guessing if you're reading this you had your suspicions as well. Stop being paranoid and let these guys do what they do best!

I tried one computer place in Roseville that claims they specialize in data recovery, but was told "your files are corrupt, sorry". I decided to give Konicom a try, and they were able to get me ALL of the files, and it only took a day and a half! I was happy with their service and efficiency. Hopefully I won't need them again, but if I do, I will definitely be returning

Computer runs the world, so of course my computer crashed. I took the laptop to get it fixed…read more They quoted me at $120, so I said fine because all the other places charge about the same price. Next thing I know, I got a call about recovery data from my hard drive for $1000! On top of that, I got chared a $45 diagnostic fee. Are you kidding me?! So I went back there to grab my stuff, and decided to see if they can lower the price. I started to talk to the owner (chinese guy named Brian or Ryan) about my problem. He was a slick talker (must of been a salesman) and started going on and on about scratching noises. Of course, not knowing anything about computers, I said yes. The data recovery took over 2 weeks and I got nothing! I took matters into my own hands and did some research online. I went and bought a SATA to USB drive. I plugged the hard drive to the SATA to USB drive, plugged the USB to my computer, and made it my secondary drive. All my data showed up! My recommendation: if all else fails and you have to go there, watch out for the owner Brian or Ryan. Don't let him fool you into purchasing over priced services you don't need. Watch them diagnose your hard drive first before you make any final decisions. I GOT RIPPED OFF!!! These are their prices. It is better to make inform decisions than get ripped off! http://www.nodata-nocharge.com/DataRecovery_PricingGuide.asp?submenu=1
