My desktop died (complete power loss) late on Sunday night earlier this week and I didn't have a computer tech that I regularly use, so I checked Yelp, made a shortlist, and emailed the top two on my list. Eric at Tech-Boy was the first to respond and we set an appointment time. He called prior to the appointment, said he was running early, and I told him to go ahead and stop by. He checked over my tower and said it was likely the power supply (which is what I hoped was the cause) and replaced it, and everything spun up as it should. The cost was very reasonable. I have never had to call anybody to come and fix my computer. But one unfortunate weekend I found the Vundo virus on my machine. I tried everything - downloading a tool, cleaning in safe mode etc... still could not fix the problem. I got the hard copy phone book out - at this point I no longer had access to Yahoo Yellow pages. I was dead in the water. I saw an ad for Tech-Boy, held my breath and called. I was very skeptical about anybody knowing more then I would about my computer - but what else could I do. The person on the phone was very polite and actually quoted me a price over the phone. $112.50 for a complete cleaning and system check. He gave me a time to expect the technician. Beau showed up the following day and was the nicest guy. he spent a lot of time on my computer 3 hours that day to be exact. There was a total of 22,000 pieces of malware lurking in my computer - it was a wonder that the thing didn't blow up. So much malware that the scans had to run overnight so Beau had to return the following morning for another 1-2 hours to finish up. Amazingly for all of this time and customer service I still was only charged $112. I was no longer skeptical. This company really is what they say and they take a lot of pride in their work and reputation. I would highly recomend them to anybody that may have issues with their computer. All work comes with a 30 day gaurantee - I have no doubt that it would have been honored if I had needed it. read more

What a great technical support team! I recently closed my laptop just a little too hard, and had major system failure, first with display problems and then with the hard drive. I know just enough to be dangerous, so I attempted repairs myself. After that, I ended up at Geek Squad for help diagnosing, but they didn't diagnose it either -- after charging me $40 to move my personal documents off the hard drive onto a thumb drive, the technician just handed it back to me and told me he doubted it was the hard drive, and just to go ahead and try to reset it again myself. Of course, that didn't work, so I was back at Geek Squad the next morning, buying another hard drive (2nd one since end of November). After I installed my new hard drive and it still wouldn't start up, I called Tech-Boy Computer Solutions. I got Eric! After listening to my long list of error messages and attempts at repair and restore, he helped me identify the issue and also told me what to expect when I try to reset my laptop (basically, wipe it clean and start all over!). If not for Eric's helpful, spot-on diagnosis and repair advice, I'd either be spending hundreds with Geek Squad or I'd be buying a whole new laptop. I am so grateful for Eric and his knowledge, and his willingness to share it with me on the phone! I'll likely never go to Geek Squad again, and just call Eric from now on. And you should, too! We have been having problems with our wi-fi for some time now and after replacing three routers and two modems I finally acknowledged that I needed help. My IT guy for my company is out of Seattle so he was no help so I started looking for a local solution. Vince with Tech-Boy came over and spent two hours working on several different things and was great at explaining the process and what he was doing the entire time. Although he was not able to get it going to a speed I was hoping for, it was no fault of his. We were able to milk everything possible out of the Surewest DSL line and it is a huge improvement. Unfortunately where we live Comcast is not available and Wave is the biggest ripoff cable company on the face of the earth. For what I wanted would had cost me $98 on Comcast for a year and then bumps to $185 but the same setup on Wave is $225 day one. Call these Guys! Had my laptop fixed a couple days ago by one of the techs, Albert. My computer is up and running, no problems. Affordable price and it goes to people like you and me, no big corporations, and its convenient they come to your house when your available. My computer and loads of viruses cause I tried to download an app that had a bundle and my laptop would blow up with pop ups.
