Their online payment system sucks it don't let you put your hole bank account # in and then they send you a letter that says you will be charged 25.00 cuz they are unable to find your account! What a joke !!! And they wait 11 days to tell you !!! And on top of all that this is a new account this was the first bill and they never gave the credit for it not working for the first 4 days and the man who installed it never hooked up anything I had to have a someone else come out and do it !!! read more

Called to cancel an account I've had for over 10 years. They said I had to pay an early termination fee. I haven't changed my account or ever signed a renewal. Their customer service is horrible. I was on hold and passed to 3 different people and treated really rude when had internet or phone outages and again when I called to cancel. That's what you get when a utility company essentially has a monopoly. read more

Biggest garbage I have ever seen, 1 year of them and I call constantly because streaming is pausing, they send technician out and nothing is resolved. After a year they say to keep the crappy service they say I have to update, so they went to 1 GB, each week for for weeks I have been waiting on them on the date they arrange to come out, and uts been one excuse after another, the 3rd week I'm home and called because no one has come out. They asked me if I wasn't called and told they have cancelled because they needed to do something else and they didnt have what they needed. We made arrangements for the next week, only for them to tell me on the date that someone had came the day before and do the work. My home was locked up and no one home, so I know not how someone had came. They say its working at GB. I checked and it's around 100mb. They then have to put in a ticket for someone to come out in at least another week to look at it. I'm done with them. I better off without internet (they know there is no other company in our are so I am abused, I know people in my sub division who is having issues with them as well read more

Overpriced low speed internet! Consolidated Communications has installed fiber optic in all the neighborhoods around me and refuses to install fiber optic in my neighborhood. Worst part, we're stuck with them because they are a monopoly. No other ISP provides service in my neighborhood, so Consolidated Communications has us by the "short & curlies"! read more

This company is torture. If I could try another company I would. Please come to our neighborhood Suddenlink. They should just sell this company and let someone have it that knows how to run it. Connection slow most of the time, and intermittent. Sometimes I go mow the yard because I know it needs time to finally start doing something again. Anything. Even dial up speed helps me feel better sometimes. This is torturous. read more

Terrible service! The cable and the Internet seems to be down quite a bit. I can't believe I pay for not being able to view the programs that I wish in my down time. The on-call technicians from the help line seemed to be less than helpful. From my issues with the service, I can say that the technicians that come to your home are friendly and are experienced at their job. The reason I have found the time in my busy schedule to write this less than flattering review is due to my service being down again. read more

Worst Internet Service provider on Earth. Service is not the speed advertised, and worse it's unreliable. If I had any other choice, I would take it. Don't bother calling "customer service", they'll just put you on hold and then tell you "too bad". I'm starting a petition to get SuddenLink to our subdivision. Heck, I might even do a Go Fund Me to raise money to lay the fiber at our expense. read more

Worst internet service ever. Upgraded my plan to 1G. Still as close to a dial-up modem as the 21st century will allow. Currently their employees are even picketing them. If they treat their own employees poorly, how do you think they feel about their customers? Our neighborhood is "regulated" (fed's new word for monopolizing a market) so I have no choice but to use these idiots. With any luck, the company will be bankrupt soon & a reliable provider can move in on their territory! I give them a -5 star rating! read more

I had Consolidated Communications (CCI) for about 8-9 years. I had 10 Mbps for ever until it started running slow. This may have been because of the additional wi-fi devices that kept adding to my house. I requested the upgrade to their highest internet speed in my area, 20 Mbps. The upgrade required CCI to come out and modify my current setup. CCI gave me a window of 8-Noon. No one showed are called. I inquired about 3:30pm and CCI advised me that the installer would not arrive on my scheduled day. As a good customer, I rescheduled a week later. Same scheduled window, 8-noon. The installer did not show again. I inquired about 1:30pm and CCI explained that the installer ran into a problem on his previous install and would not make my scheduled appoint. If the CCI operator / dispatcher would have been empathetic about my time wasted, I might have considered a 3rd appointment. The CCI operator / dispatcher did not care about my time, so I cancelled my service and found a new provider. Funny thing, my new provider was an hour late for the install, but they credited my account for $25 because they were late. I did not even ask. CCI has poor customer service. read more

Worst costumer service I've ever experienced. If you have any other provider in your area. Don't even try consolidated.

Just want to say, if you have a choice in internet, choose something other than consolidated. I have no choice, so they are it. I have fiber that runs past the end of my driveway, but I am stuck with DSL. Consolidated advertises high speed data, but then throttles you to 1mbs, then when you call, you can't get any help, I have been on hold for 10 minutes now, still no person on the other end of the line. read more

Consolidated Communications is a rip off. When you are a single parent trying to do the best I can, they tell me today that I have to pay $99.00 for a early cancellation fee. I called 2018 to get my bill lowered as it was so high and I thought it was the basic I was getting as they only took $5.00 off my bill. I am moving so I have to cancel. My bill is $74 a month as it is and then add $99.00 for a cancellation fee. This is so disgusting. No wondering people are leaving this company. They do not work you what so ever. TOTALLY DISGUSTING. Has to be the biggest CON Game in Cable TV and Internet service in the United States. Been with them for 2 years and find out that every year they automatic sign a contract for you to renew for 3 years more. Will not let you change anything, even if it does not work. I first want to say that I am the idiot in this post because I put up with Consolidated for so many years! We don't have many choices here, but honestly, no service would be better than this. At least it would be less stressful. For years I have had awful internet service, television reception, and constant outages on my phone, tv, internet, and email. Service techs don't show up and when they do they don't have a clue how to resolve the problems. The equipment and lines are old and falling apart. If you do make an appt. for a service call they can't give you a time, only a date. But the last 4 days has been the worst. My email account has been down for 4 days and I have called everyday and been given every excuse you could think of. They tell me that their is an area wide, even nationwide outage because of a catastrophic server failure. When I asked then why does my husband have email service when we are in the same house, same account they tell me he is on another server! So today I call yet again and am told they are transferring all affected accounts to another server. I asked their tech office why they don't have redundant systems with a backup server and they said they do but all the data on the backup server was corrupted. What this means is that my email came backup today and I could access it, but there is nothing to access! Everything is GONE! All my emails, saved and archived emails, and all my contacts are GONE...FOREVER! I called tech support back and they were very sorry but there is no way to recover anything. All emails, saved emails, and contacts back to Oct 17 is just GONE! It has been left to these techs to break the news to the customers. So, don't use this company, and if you do be sure to not use their email or back everything up your self. read more

Consolidated says to call them every time your services fail or drop and they will credit the downtime. I have always just opted to focus on simply fixing the problem. Who has time for such petty and tedious foolishness? Apparently, it's time to rethink that. After 16 years of non-stop problems with them, we are going through yet another round. Three weeks, 6 calls, 2 hours on hold, 2 tech visits (3-1/2 hours) to get basic phone service on an existing line. Still no service. It's being escalated to a network engineer. But, Consolidated had no trouble starting up the billing right away. Rep says she can't stop it. No, they cannot simply start billing me once their tech tells them the service is working. Rather, every time I think it's fixed, I have to keep calling back and asking for little credits for the downtime. I guess Consolidated has no respect for my time and has plenty of time to burn of its own. On principle, I am going to start calling every single time. Maybe, they will get tired of me and actually fix the problem. read more

Service is the worst! I just recently switched from the same speeds with xfinity. I use to be able to stream tv, run tablets, computers, and phones all at the same time. Now I can hardly stream one show without hickups. If you have a show streaming and someone wants to scroll through some facebook on their phone, FORGET IT! It can't keep up. AT ALL!!! Then you log on to their website to attempt to check your speeds and live chat for assistance, and I get rerouted to a page that is not at all helpful or what I clicked on. Then it shows you are next in que for the live chat, but then doesn't connect at all. WORST INTERNET SERVICE EVER!!!! How are you a communications company that can't even get their online communications to work. I am supposed to have 100 mbps and I can't even make a wifi phone call with no other internet being used without it cutting out non stop. To top it all off. I am paying more for this horrible service than I did with xfinity also. Get it together Consolidated! read more

I have a summer home which is 100 miles from the other home. I was told that they were going 5/24/18 between hours of 8A.M. and 5 P.M. At 5 P.M. I get a recorded call saying the appointment has been cancelled. At 6 P. M. I get another recorded call saying they are going to be here the next day between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. They call you after hours and you can not call and cancel the next day appointment. Well I took off the day before because I had to drive 100 miles to get to my summer home and took off half day on 5/23/18 so I could be here at 8. Well now I have lost 2 and half days pay and drove 100 miles and I will have to drive 100 miles back. So far this has cost me $360.00 so far. I made this appointment over a month ago. I called Consolidated twice on 5/25/18 to see if they could tell if they were coming. She said she could not communicate with the tech. I said you are a communication company and you can not communicate with the tech. Well it is 5 P.M. and they are still not here and not even a phone call. I think I am going to cancel this and keep what I have I can not afford them. We were going to put it in our other home so I think they did me a favor because I think I would have had a lot of problems with them. read more

First of all, AT&T would be my choice provider, but Consolidated has control of service where I live. Consolidated Communications deserves a NEGATIVE 10 stars! All services have not worked since June 8th --- 10 days with not a repair date in site. There is NO COMMUNICATION (Or, it is incorrect info.) with their customers NOR any COMMUNICATION between divisions (in home service vs. outside line repair). The only person communicating is me...calling OVER & OVER to try to find out what's going on and when repairs will be made. After 5 days last week without service, I had to go myself and get a new NetGear box and I had to install it myself to be able to at least have phone service before CCI could work me into their schedule. Obviously they have 100's & 100's of repairs to do on their inadequate and outdated equipment which causes their PAYING customers to go weeks without service. CCI does not mind letting their paying customers be INCONVENIENCED, but would NEVER ask a repairman to make one more call and cause him to be INCONVENIENCED! Very quickly, after three excruciating years, we will have a new service provider to escape this insanity (Definition of INSANITY is doing the same thing over & over but hoping for different results.) RUN, RUN, RUN as fast as you can away from Consolidated Communications! OR, you too could be losing $262.00 per month to them. Very Sincerely, Brenda read more

Consolidated Communications promised me a two year fixed price contract for $97 per month for internet and tv. After 4 months they attempted to raise the rate. No integrity at this company. It is a shame that we cannot give zero stars for a rating. The absolute WORST internet service on the planet. We live in SE Texas and anytime there is a problem, we have to talk to an idiot in Illinois who does not give a sh*t about solving the problem. Repair service takes forever and they act like they are doing you a favor. We are stuck with the shi*ty Consolidated service in a three county area because the stupid state reps want to prevent a telecommunications monopoly. Never mind that ATT controls the rest of the state. I had ATT at my last residence and the service was excellent. Avoid this Consolidated like the plague. read more

Please do not go with Consolidated Communications as your internet, tv or phone provider. The service is absolutely horrible. We moved here from Indiana and unfortunately CCI is the only internet service provider that would reach to where we live. I would almost prefer to not have any television or internet because more than half the time we can't watch or use it anyway. The Internet is slow, and choppy failing to connect most times. I've even set my computer (a brand new and fast mac laptop) right next to the router and it still wouldn't connect. The tv service is just awful. At least once a day the screen freezes. The screen turns black and a message is displayed saying that the channel is currently unavailable. Once that happens, we have to unplug and "restart" our device to get it working again. Then it takes the cable television anywhere from ten to twenty minutes to load and by that time what's the point? In our family, we are not big television watchers. There are days where it might not get turned on. But on the days that I want to sit down relax and watch it. I'd like to not have to wait thirty minutes before that's possible. I can say one thing, I've always dealt with very polite customer service. The technicians I'd say are a little sketchy though. Please do not waste your time and money on this company. I can't wait until we move away from here and get real service again. read more

We have used Consolidated for both internet and cable for quite a few years, as they were the only game in town when we moved here. Internet has always been slow, but it was tolerable for what we use it for. For the last 6-9 months the internet goes out and we have to reset the router almost daily, sometimes 2 or 3 times in a day. And the cable quality is terrible. I signed an annual contract in Feb 2018 to hold my monthly price for the year, only to recently realize they actually increased it multiple times over the past year! What's the point of signing contract when they are going to just jack the price up whenever they feel like it anyway? I should get a credit back for all of those increases! Needless to say, I FINALLY wised up, did some research and cancelled service with Consolidated (who didn't care one bit when I called to cancel, by the way). We now use Xfinity, our internet speed is 3x faster and I pay significantly less. Wish I had wised up sooner! I dread the amount of time I anticipate having to spend fighting the equipment charges as many people have mentioned in other reviews...... read more

Now i could undestand if it was slow say saturday night but this was a Tuesday AFTERNOON 4-6 a'clock and the poroblem persisted the whole time also could not get netflix to load at a decent pace keep in mind it was 1 device using the netowork and it was supposedly 20 mbps DO NOT USE CONSOLIDATED read more

Would give ZERO stars if it were an option! I'm currently paying for their top speed internet plan and consistently get less than 10 Mbps! Have had three different 'appointments' set with their tech Dept to come out and fix the problem. Was told a time slot between 8-12 and that the tech would call my cell BEFORE they headed our way to give us a more accurate time. ALL THREE TIMES we were not called, they came in the afternoon, and merely left a note on our front door. These people can't even follow a schedule they set for themselves! How incompetent can a company be? The Woodforest subdivision is unfortunately stuck with them as there's no other choice for Internet providers. The entire neighborhood gets very poor service regardless of what speeds you pay for. Service department is the worst I've ever had to deal with. Totally unprofessional and do not care about the customer. My advice is to pay for the slowest speed you can, cause that's all you're going to get anyway! read more

I've been a customer of consolidated for 18 years. I'm changing from business service to residential service. Arrangements were made for new service to go in the day before the old service was terminated. The day for installation comes and no one shows. I contact customer service only to be told that I was left a voice mail (no, I wasn't) that advised that they had to disconnect service at least 5 days before new service could go in so my installation date was rescheduled 8 days out. This will leave me without service, internet and phones, for a solid week. In today's times there's no way I believe that can't be done on the same day. What I believe is that since my new plan is 1/3 the price of the old plan, making it difficult for me is advantageous to them. Otherwise, everyone who moves would have to wait at least 5 days from the time they moved in and the old owner disconnected service to receive new service. We all know that's not how it works. I wish there was competition in this area. I'd ditch Consolidated Communications the same day! read more

Consolidated Communication is the absolute worst company and the most poorly run and least communicative company I have ever dealt with. I ordered internet through them 3 weeks ago after Suddenlink raised my bill outrageously, 12% this year, 5% last year, for the second year in a row. 1) they didn't tell me that had to do a line prep when setting up, making it a 2 step process, 2) showed up at my house unannounced and said they couldn't do the prep be my dogs in the back yard, 3) I called back and was told they didn't have to do it 2 separate days, 4) I was called back and got a vm saying they were wrong and to call and make an apt to set up the first step, 5) called back 5 minutes later, got transferred 3 times, then hung up on, only to find out that they'd already closed for the day, 6) locked my dogs up and called them the next morning to tell them they could come out, only to be told that my order had been cancelled and would have to reschedule 9 days later (today), was promised that I'd get a call saying that my the first step would get set up so I would know when to lock up my dogs, 7) 2 days before, I finally called them and they said it'd be yesterday for the first step so I locked up my dogs, 8) never got a call saying that could not get in the gate and they had to cancel the first step, 9) never got a call saying they'd canceled my installation today, 10) have been sitting at home, after taking off of work, only to call them and find out that it's been cancelled and that I'd missed half a day of work for nothing, 11) and, after telling them if it all didn't get done today that I was cancelling my order, they decided to just cancel my order instead of trying to salvage a sale. read more

The service is horrible. Tech support agent Starkey was very arrogant in his tone. He kept overtalking and suggesting stupid comments. My only concern was the upload speed and NOT THE WHOLE INTERNET CONNECTION. Supervisor Blair said it outright that they diidnt have access to customer service pacakage which only made me think that there is a lot of disconnect in CCI. Tech support lady on tuesday night told me that i can upgrade from 20mbps to 30 over 5 in a residential area to speed up my upload. Customer service said that 20 Mbps package is the highest they can offer. Agent Scott told me well we can upgrade your upload speed to 3 and confirmed that it would be done within 24 hours. Today, my upload speed was 0.3 Mbps which is even worse than the usual upload that I am getting. Well this supervisor Blair Kuiper is not knowledgeable of their services. I am not saying that he be a genius to all products and services but i am kinda surprised that he gives an impression that he does not know how to answer.....well...i dont have access to customer service blah blah blah....thats ridiculous.
