Trying to fond B out why My service and 4 other neighbors internet service has been off and all day. Made 20 minute calls to ai voice and could not get them to connect me to tech support - can I bill you for my wasted time? No support. No info. Nothing. Drove to Montgomery Lake Conroe office yelp lists as B open but as of 1:30 sat it is closed with no hours or sign on their door JAVE NEVER HAD WORSE, unresponsive service. Tuesday I signed up to move my cell and internet service to Optimum. Had I had any inkling of how frustrating this process would be I would never have switched. That day I had approximately 6 hours on the phone with Optimum. I spoke with at least sixteen different people. The people are not the problem. They were invariably courteous and tried to be helpful. The biggest problem is the inter-office process used to communicate between offices. No matter what number you call, you are always transferred to another office. And in every case each new person asks for the same information, your full address, your phone number, your email address and your passcode. It then takes 3 to 4 minutes while the first person who answers the phone communicates with the person they're going to switch you to. Then the new person asked for the same information again. And if you're transferred a second time you have the same wait and have to repeat the same information again. It's as if this technology company is passing inter-office notes on paper between offices. And that was just for the cell phone transfer. The technician that was supposed to connect up my internet this afternoon was a no show. I received a text message that said the Technician was unable to access the required area. Even after speaking with a supervisor, no one knew what that meant. So after planning my day around a 2 Two. Five o'clock appointment, No one shows up. Today, my first full day with Optimum cell service, I was talking with a credit card company. They sent two confirmation text messages to me. Neither came through. When the company then tried to call me to confirm I was who I claimed to be, that phone call did not connect either. When speaking with Optimum tech support, they said someone would call or text me in 24 hours with a solution. If this continues, I'm moving back to my old phone and internet company. Read the reviews of Optimum and be leery. It may be less expensive, but the real cost may be greater. read more

They put you on the phone with a slick talking foreigner who will not let you cancel, they just keep jabbering at you about lower prices. Terrible customer service, lies, and incompetence. Multiple outages a month that last all night... if you like talking to Indians, who read screens with thick accents, they get upset when you can't understand them. This is the service for you. If you like paying full price for Internet, that hardly works this is the service for you. Save your money save your time. Whatever rate they quoted you for it will not be the rate that you pay. Worst customer experience ever. I went to trade in my iphone 14 for an iphone 16. The first time I arrived it was during business hours but the building was locked and there was no sign on the door. On my second trip the customer service representative said I would need to call the main corporate office and get the phone unlocked. After over an hour either on hold or being bounced from department to department, I was told it was already unlocked. Returned to optimum a third time. Was told by another customer service representative that they needed the primary account holder to come into the store personally to approve the iphone 14 trade in. I explained that the primary account holder, my 83 year old mother, just had shoulder surgery and was in pretty serious pain and offered to facetime with her. The manager said no she has to come to the office personally. Returned to optimum a fourth time with my mother and then the customer service rep. says we have to wait an hour for my phone to unlock. We come back for a fifth time and he says something went wrong and we have to wait another hour for my phone to unlock. At that point I just bought the new phone without the trade in for my iphone 14. Complete ambivalence from staff. All the reviews here are negative. Optimum needs to go out of business. read more

This company is almost criminal. The internet speed has never approached the speed that they sell to you. Whenever the temperature drops below 45, the internet has dropped out for the past 5 years. Local repair states it's a known issue in this area but will not let them fix it. And price keeps going up. Trying to reduce your service is an hour long call to multiple screen prompt readers in India. If there are any other options, no matter what the cost, they are better than Optimum, prior Altice One, prior Suddenlink. I understand that multiple states are investigating their practices. read more

Horrible service and customer service. Refuse to disconnect the service in order to get one more month of money . Threatening to report to collection of if I don't pay . But o don't need it and need it disconnected now not in one month. Whatever you do don't get optimum. Not a reliable service and very rude employees. read more

Since reporting them to the FCC as Suddenlink the service has been great and I have been pleased. My prior issues were I was losing service at least 4-6 times a month and credit requests when ignored. Like I said, once the FCC complaint was filed coupled with them switching to optimum all my problems were corrected. I would recommend. Where I live they will only allow this company. read more

Couldn't rate lower. I'm 79 years old, and this is probably the worst company I've ever had to deal with. It is a company so bad that it has to keep changing its name to try to conceal its true identity. I had stopped doing business with twice--first for cable, then for internet, at my previous location. When I moved to this location, I was told that Optimum was the only internet provider that was in the neighborhood. So, I had to sign up with them. Subsequently, I found out that there really were two other options. I took my equipment to the local office, but was told that they couldn't cancel the service. I had to call to cancel. A 20 minute call with a totally obnoxious CSR resulted with a disconnect while waiting to be connected to the "Retention Dept". I called the same # later in the day, and was told that this # was the Retention Dept and that my service had been cancelled. Now, 10 days later, I am being billed for the next billing cycle because my disconnect was scheduled for a month after my service was cancelled. This company is horrible; there's a reason (actually several reasons) why I never wanted to do business with them. My advice is simple--unless someone puts a gun to your head, do not ever do business with these people. Run as fast as you can away from them. read more
