I went to Sonan Tech in Willis TX for a motherboard repair on my laptop. The repair required to…read morerepair tracers & battery connector on motherboard. They went ahead and accepted the work. Saying it would take one week. Which turned into two weeks before calling me to hand them the charger to run tests. Then turned into another two weeks before I had to reach out. They said they attempted to fix the laptop four times before giving up. I asked if they knew anyone else that could fix it. They said they don't know anyone that could & it's a total loss. When I was returned the laptop. Over half the screws to the laptop & battery were missing. And after examining the work, it looked almost exactly how I turned it in. The connector was still detached, but now flux paste residue, and damage to other areas of the motherboard (possibly from soldering burns). I went to them because they were the closest & highest reviews on google, but their volume of reviews on Yelp don't match, and the fact there's no bad reviews is questioning. The fact that they still charged me a $65 fee just attempting the work is mind boggling. Finding a business that does computer repairs is like finding a quality mechanic. I think it takes more than finding a big name & nice store. You really have to do your research. I've reach out to people on TikTok who show regular soldering/tracer work. They were sympathetic and happy to solve my issue. Which I'm hoping they can still repair after leaving it with Sonan. Don't believe what one company tells you. I've lost trust & time by going to Sonan Tech. I highly doubt I will ever go back again.

Friday 13th was the fateful day when my laptop would not restart normally. It had crashed before…read moredozens of times in the past year but never like this. No matter which type of safe mode I selected, Windows wouldn't start up properly. The timing of the computer crash couldn't have been better, I was just about to save files onto a flash drive before a job interview when it went kah-put. What a day! With cautious optimism, I went for a second opinion. Jeff explained to me that the software they had for computer diagnostics performed wonders. Given the demand, I was told it would be a day or two before the computer doctor could diagnose and treat my laptop. I entrusted my laptop to them. And my boyfriend reassured me that my laptop was in safe hands. I waited anxiously. Oh how I dreaded the thought of all the files I had not saved and all the files I would have to recreate. A few days later, I received the prognostic for my computer. I thanked my lucky stars as soon as I heard that I would be able to regain my data. Two days after the diagnostic testing, my computer was released from the computer hospital as good as new. I am so happy to have my laptop back. I was this [........] close to hugging my laptop goodbye. I also learned that all those times I had rested my laptop on pillows, blankets, and other soft surfaces, I was allowing fibers to enter my computer and blocking air from entering my computer. I was lucky my fan hadn't demised too. My computer is a survivor. We have lots of good times ahead of us. And I owe it all to The Computer Fixers! With great customer service, talented technicians, and well done repairs, I can see why they have remained in business the past 19 years.

After a quick search on Google, I found 911 Data Recovery. I completed the online form, and Brad called me the next day. I dropped my external drive off a few days later. Needless to say, not only did Brad recover the data I knew I'd lost, he also recovered data I had lost YEARS ago. I am one happy customer. That drive had 15 years of music, videos, photos, and college papers--bachelor's and master's--on it.
