They said it would be about a 3-4 day turnaround to diagnose and fix. After 3-4 WEEKS of going back and forth with these people (and I was the one having to call for updates multiple times because they never called like they said they would), they finally deemed my switch unfixable. When I came in to pick up my switch, I initially thought they gave me someone else's switch back because the attached joycons were clearly not mine. These were scratched up, dented, and completely different colors than the ones I dropped off. I relayed this to the guy and he went in the backroom to look for my joycons. He came back up front and said he would have to talk to the manager and have him follow up with me, because he couldn't find my joycons in the store. About 4 days went by without a call so I had to follow up again and was told by an employee that the manager said there was nothing they could do about losing my joycons and that they would not replace them either, especially because my switch was deemed unfixable anyway...? So because they couldn't fix my switch, they felt it was appropriate to "lose" and then refuse to replace my joycons? When I got there the owner was very apologetic because something came up that he had to leave to handle and his other tech was out for the day. They had tried calling me repeatedly a few minutes after I had called. Since I called from my land line and no one was home I didn't get the message. My charging port was wonky and my headphone jack didn't work. He said let me check and realign a couple things and see if I can get it working without taking it apart. It took him about 10 minutes and both issues were repaired. He jumped into his truck and took off. When the woman billed me the minimum labor charge she said that if the repairs don't hold up, bring it back and they would replace the whole assembly and credit me with the labor.
