My ps5 scuf control has been having stick drift for about 5 months now and it finally became too unbearable. Instead of sending it in to scuf and paying approx $100-150 after them having the controller for over 6-8 weeks, I was more than happy that Robert was able to fix the stick drift for more than half that price and same day. He replaced my joysticks with TMR joysticks which will be incredibly less prone to get stick drift and even it does, I can recalibrate the joystick magnets to fix the stick drift myself. To start I NEVER write reviews and beyond that I very rarely need to visit a repair business but when I do there are always long lines and wait times with people who are not willing to walk you step by step through their process of repairing your tech. I come from business so I understand the processes and work involved in maintaining them so with this in mind a few critical notes: Firstly, Robert is genuinely a great person and runs a business that does all that you would expect of a person of his experience, expertise, and moral character. Top Secret Tech is a GREAT place to get a console repaired. My ps5 had both usb ports on the back broken and I was hesitant to go to the local repair shops for their bad reviews until I saw "Top Secret Techs" with plentiful of good reviews. I also noticed that they had a website that showed what services they provided and very conveniently also allowed to book an appointment. When I got there he examined my ps5 and gave me a price estimate as well as a time estimate. "It'll be ready in about 45min" I was surprised because usually other stores would make you wait a couple of days. He also went and called me to ask if it will be ok to make another repair that I totally forgot to mention proving that he makes sure your console is working like new. Robert with Top Secret Techs was a LIFE SAVER! My house had taken a big electrical surge about a year ago. It did about $6,000 of damage throughout the house, including a hard drive with all of our family photos and videos on it. I had a backup copy on another hard drive, but it got fried too. The hard drive wasn't completely dead, but it damaged some microchips on the PCB board of the hard drive. I was able to buy a replacement PCB board and Robert was able to unsolder the BIOS chip from the old board and re-solder it to the new PCB board. This made my hard drive accessible again. My PS4 was dropped and I found these guys on Yelp - so thank you everyone. But big thanks to Robert and his partner (I didn't catch your name I'm sorry!) I called Thursday and told them about the issue, dropped it off Friday after work, and they called Monday morning telling me the issue they fixed and how much it would be. He even told me tested it and played for bit to make sure it was fixed. When I picked it up, they kept the broken piece so show me the problem and explained to me how/why they fixed it which was great. Turned it on to verify it's working again and that was it! I've been playing it since then and it works great again. I highly recommend them as they're the only place in Houston so far that's able to fix PS4's especially so quickly with such reasonable prices. Contacted them about a disc drive issue I had with my ps4 as the sony 8.50 update destroyed my disc drive. Contacting them was easy enough before them getting my ps4. I told them what happened and once I dropped of my ps4 is when the issues started. I had to constantly contact them to hear anything about the issue. Finally a day after they tell me that the issue wasn't the drive as the drive worked in other consoles but maybe a chip with the motherboard which would all but confirmed that sony new update indeed screwed up my console. So days go by and I text them and call and they would deliberately ignore my calls and texts and would hear nothing from them. Finally days later they respond still trying to figure it out. More days past so about over a week and they tell me that it would be like 200 plus to even fix the issue. Fine, I don't expect everyone to be able to fix everything but it seems like they barely made any effort to even check into the issue. Now over a week I finally go pick up my ps4 today. I called ahead of time to come pick it up. When I get there the ps4 wasnt even ready even though days before it was established that I will be coming to get it. It's Tuesday and my ps4 was still apart when I got there which took an extra 25 mins of waiting around before I was able to get my ps4 to leave. I get home to test it out. Now mind you my ps4 was in perfect working condition otherwise aside from the disc drive. Wouldn't you know my ps4 doesn't turn on. So i contact them to let them know what happened. He tells me if i come back by to drop it off they will see what happened. Mind you i had just came BACK from the place and now they tell me to come back and drop it off. So instead of having it ready and in the condition I left it with you, you haphazardly put it back together at the last minute only to have it in worse condition as before you gotten ahold of it? I told them I didn't wanna go back there as I had just came back so he asks where do I live and he will come pick it up. So I told him and he said he would come by since he has to head this way. Hours go by and nothing. So I just called and text and what do you know, no answer and I have proof of all the calls and texts with no response if need be. These people are terrible, bad people and if this isn't resolved in the next 24 hours then I will be filing a police report and filing complaints with the BBB and will take legal action for damages. I tried to be patient but these people obviously don't respect people's time , property and kindness. This so called business is a farce and does terrible work and have horrible service. -35 stars Update: They contacted me after the review and they did manage to restore my console to its previous state. My Ps4 started to act up and would no longer play my games or startup without having to reinstall the playstations software just to shut down completely during gameplay I was convinced I was going to have to fully invest in another Ps4.
