I just wanted to take a moment to comment on the awesome service I received today from a tech named Chad Watson at Consolidated Communications. Not only did he correct the problem we've had for a long time with our internet upload speed, he also gave us a new remote to replace the remote that hasn't worked properly for over a year that I was told I would have to drive into a location to swap out. Plus, he was friendly and polite. Very nice service experience. Kudos! * The only reason I am not giving Consolidated 5 stars is because the cable/internet/phone service as a whole is not awe-inspiring. Chad, however, did a fab job. read more

The quality dissipated each year so it was time to switch, so I basically called them and told them to cancel my service because I wasn't paying anymore for horrible internet so they cancelled. Later, they charged me for equipment, which I turned in, so I had to dispute that charge. They also kept the bill running for 3 months after the service was off, trying to inflate the number, which I'm in the process of disputing. read more

I have tolerated there antiquated equipment and serious lack of even being able to keep the Internet on for as long as I can stand. I'm sitting here trying to get work done and can't even keep the DSL on long enough to download a single spreadsheet. I've called I've complained I've changed equipment. Maybe it's time for a call to the FCC to see what they have to say about it... read more

Done with this company. They are not interested in resolving, only taking your money!

This is the worst internet in history. A dial up modem is the same speed. I have had consolidated for 4 years. First 3 years I had problems with equipment but very little drops. I can't ever get any tech support because I use a Mac computer without a wired connection. At least that's always the excuse. After Harvey, I have 10 drops minimum per day and it's always blamed on too many devices. I have had the exact same devices since the first day I have had the service. I have had half a dozen service calls made and prob 25 calls to customer service and nothing has been done. At my second to last service appt, it was recommended I upgrade my service, come to find out for a year I paid for service that wasn't even available in my area so I was getting charged for service at a speed that's unavailable. At that appointment I was also told a major upgrade Was taking place in my area, they would have to turn my speed down and I needed to call in and request the updated service a few weeks later. I waited and called and when I called I was told to call back 2 weeks later. Then two weeks later I was given a date 2 weeks later for the upgraded service to be installed. Nobody showed up. I called and it was rescheduled again. The day I was told was my install date the second time, they called and told me they couldn't help me, there is no upgrade after all. I requested a service call as I was highly disappointed. The tech showed up, laughed and said the wires in your neighborhood are awful, they will never upgrade your service here. What you have is working great I checked it up the street. So here I am, it's raining and my internet is going in and out worse that satellite internet and it's dropping and I'm the only one here. At this point I'd gladly take what I had the first few years I've had service, there is obviously a problem, I don't call tech support because my service works correctly. read more

A complete joke of a company. Internet and phone will simply go down all the time. Technical support is horrible. They cannot even install their own equipment correctly. FIND ANOTHER OPTION !!!! read more

Absolute worst service and even worse customer service! Internet went down on a Friday afternoon. Called Saturday morning, and they schedule a tech to come out Monday between 2pm - 4pm. Tech never showed! No curtesy call to let me know they where not coming or that they where running late, so I called. Was told they left a message for field tech and he would call back. 6pm rolls around STILL NO CALL, so once again I call! Same thing, they will leave a message and he will call me back! 7:30pm rolls around and what do you know... THEY ARE NOW CLOSED! So, they tell me to call at 8am the following day (Tuesday).. I call... and guess freaking what?! THEY CANCELLED MY TICKET!! At this point my blood is Freaking BOILING! Now they have to enter a new ticket and now they don't have a tech open until WEDNESDAY between 1pm-3pm!!!! ..... currently still waiting for service! I work from home - going on 6 days no service! Ridiculous! read more

CCI....You've been cancelled!!! Thanks! It was a great run, but you're no longer relevant.

Don't go with this company if you have a choice. I can't even consider video calling my husband in the army or trying to play World of Warcraft with him. I've lost clients as a web developer working from home because my service is so slow and sometimes I can't get back to people in a timely manner or finish projects on schedule. This ISP has cost me way more than my monthly bill. This was the only ISP servicing my apt. complex for quite some time and now that Xfinity is here, I'm switching as soon as I feel like I can withstand the 45 min+ hold time and additional hour it will take on the phone to cancel my service. Keep in mind, I've had Xfinity before and had a negative experience (they kept charging me after cancellation) but I'd rather use them because at least the service was functional. read more

Worthless, incompetent and unhelpful. No better than fairpoint. Calling consolidated, left me on hold for 45 Minutes. Now when I call I get disconnected. read more

So less than a day after writing my review a technician came to my office and reviewed my circumstance. Turns out a checkbox toggle involving the slave DSL (a bonded line) was not checked, probably changed after a reset that I did. When this was checked, the upload speed promptly approached 3 Mb per second and the functionality of my service is restored, as is my confidence in CCI. Lesson for me is that if a company offers a service they intend to deliver on that service, and if there is failure to realize that service, it is not because they were offering something doubtful or marginal. It is usually something much more mundane and typically easy to repair. As Douglas Adams would've reminded us, "Don't panic!" read more

This company is horrible they pull out all the stops to cause problems. Please stay away I recommend you use Comcast and when Tachus comes please use them. My account was labeled fraud and all I did was call in to find about outage. Stay away. Go to Google reviews you will see!!! read more

I wish there was zero stars available. Just an absolutely horrible company. Horrible. Bad service. Bad customer service. If you can get any other ISP, get them. If there's no ISP in your area. Just live without it. Any option is better than Consolidated. read more

This is the worst internet provider ever worst than dial up with AOL, and so over priced, just to get over on people and make money. it's verrrrrrry slow and it is up and down with the Internet connection constantly. It is the only provider in our neighborhood if another Internet provider offered service in our ZIP Code they would make a killing "EVERYONE" would drop Consolidated Communications. I wish I could not give a full star. The service is sooooooo bad. read more

Service is horrible. Intermittent and you can't use more than one electronic device at a time. I have the maximum bandwidth that they allow. We are held hostage because there's no other service available in my neighborhood. If you have any other options take them stay away from this Service. read more

I signed up about a year ago because it was the only service available in my apartment. First red flag was setup involved the phone line...this isn't cable! Service constantly drops out, is very slow on speed tests even though i paid for high speed, and i can't even video chat with friends and family. I'm switching soon, as my community is finally wiring up for Comcast (never thought I'd be excited to get Comcast again!). It's absurd i have to go to a nearby restaurant for their free WiFi to actually get work done. I wish i could find some redeeming quality, as i hate leaving one star reviews, but I've been driven crazy for the last year! read more

Technical support guy was great. Very personable. Got the problem solved quickly. We had some laughs. THEN I had to call customer service about my bill. That woman was not happy. Terrible service. We had it for a time and the signal started failing. They offered me a promotion, and they told me it was going to last for a year. The next month they already increase it. I called them to canceled. They wanted to charge me a rate for cancellation. They are thieves. read more

Worst internet service I ever had. My internet has been on and off (mostly off) for the past six months. Where to begin, after on wait for over an hour about a new $70 charge that occurred on my CANCELED internet subscription, keep in mind that canceling service over their website does not count, you must wait for over an hour on hold to be huffed and puffed at like it's not their choice to work in this industry to cancel their service. I was told that canceling over a month and a half ago did not go through as the wonderful employee did not enter it. Therefore, I was charged for the months I was not using their service, even better, I was sent a return label for the equipment and it returned but they charged me as if I was using it. Like WTF, company is piss poor, please please do not give them your business, they will try to steal all the money they can for you. read more

Currently they're offering 2gbps internet. But refuses to upgrade our neighborhood's internet speeds for the last 15 years. The best we can get is 15mbps and a lot of us are needing better speeds for work and education. The is atrocious. I've spoken with home owners further away from the city of Conroe and they're getting massively better speeds from Consolidated. The only other ISPs in our area are satellite internet providers with a limit of 25mbps for 50gigabytes of month, and costs identically the same. The sickest part is there are customers who just have internet and no other deals with 1gbps internet speed and they're paying on average $65/month. We are paying $90/month for DSL at 15mbps. How is that fair? While our technology is advancing and requires more data to use properly, our neighborhood is going to be stuck with this until something is done. We are being bottlenecked by this company and being robbed while maybe getting a couple dollars knocked off from calling and making complaints. If you're looking into getting service from this company, don't. They could care less about the quality of service they provide, all they want is your dollars. read more

I had the fiber optical internet with Consolidated Communication for many years and only had one connection issue and they were quick to send someone to fix the next day. The recent request to upgrade the speed takes more than half an hour wait to talk to customer service and 2 weeks for technician to come. I took one star off. read more

I pay for 2 lines into my house, and barely get the upload and download of 1. Service is spotty at best. When I'm using one line, my in-laws can't use theirs. It's like it's really only 1 line. I also own a business using this company spending a few thousand a month for full fiber optics and VoIP service. Just had a tech here, they left assuring me my internet's working. Nope. Ugh. Hey competition, I'll pay $1000 monthly to have good quality HS service at my home. read more

i am a senior and after 1 year consolidated went up on my bill and are continuing to go up monthly. last month they went up $12.00 and this month they have went up $35.00. in two months time my bill has increased $47.00 a month. this is ridiculous and their customer service is horrible. they do not care about their customers at all and the sad thing is the senior property i live at only allows consolidated in here. this is highway robbery on both parts - consolidated and the apartments i live at. wonder how much of a kick back these apartments get from consolidated. they both need to be fined for over charging customers. stay away from consolidated communications or your will be sorry you went with them! read more

Have to agree with several of the other reviews as their Internet service is extremely slow and to the point of being un-useable. For the price of almost $90.00 per month one would expect decent speed. Does no good to ask for help as they never improve the speed. As noted no other choice in our area but almost to the point of just cancelling and not having internet other than cellular data which is also very expensive. Not a good choice if you have options. We upgraded to the 100 mbps plan but our average speed has been from about 20 mbps to fastest at 36 mbps but usually saw a speed in the upper 20s to low 30s. Called and was told should have 80 mbps wire in but 60-70 s when using WiFi which of course is what we use. Had a tech out today and did his best adding a router to go with the modem but could not improve the speed. He advised they were catching a lot of grief from customers paying for this plan but not getting near the speed promised. Needless to say we will be trying a new company. read more

This company has the worst customer service EVER. Every time I have had an issue it can never get resolved. They transfer you to multiple people and not one of them can resolve an issue. I used this company for almost 4 years (mostly because there was no other company offering service when I moved into my community). When I was discontinuing service, I intentionally called and asked when my billing cycle ended. I stopped service as of the billing cycle date THEY gave me. My bills were always pain on time and in FULL. I returned all of my equipment and assumed that would be the end of my dealing with this company. Fast forward, 3 months later I get a bill for $77.69. Why?? Supposedly I ended my service in the middle of the billing cycle. Excuse me?? That's the day YOU told me. Then the lady says she can listen to the call that I made. Ok great, please listen to it so you can see that I did call and ended service on the date they told me. Conveniently, they cannot find the call. Asking if I had used a different number to make the call. I use the same phone for every call I have ever made to anyone. Its a cell phone. Needless to say, true to form, their customer service can not service the customer and there still is no resolution to my problem. I did everything possible on my end as a responsible customer. They should stand by their product and their employees and do what is right! Do not use this company. read more

Not only does this company provide horrible internet service but their customer service is worse. No one seems to care about my complaints or help out with my constant outages. It's been three years now and I still have to call and complain about our inconsistent service on a monthly basis. Our whole neighborhood is locked into contract with these monopolists. I'm just waiting to join a class action. read more

I've had Consolidated for about 6 years now. Their customer service is horrible and they honestly don't care if you stay with them or not. I only have internet through them. The Internet constantly drops signal and you lose what you were working on every time it drops. Their prices are all over the board! I called about the Internet always dropping and they told me I needed a new modem. I could pay for an upgrade or sign a 2 year contract. Well, I did the contract. Got new modem, still bad signal strength and still drops signal!!!!! People were complaining about how awful Consolidated is on my neighborhood Facebook group page. They were having the same problems as me and then some. We started talking about how many Mbp's we were getting and what we were being charged per month. Some were getting 3mbp's and paying $50 a month and some were getting 20mbp's and paying only $35 a month. One lady that lives 2 houses down from me said she is getting 20mbp's for $25 a month. I get 3mbp's and I pay $42. a month. Why are the prices so random? So, I called Consolidated sales department and asked how much is it a month for me to get 20mbp's? She got my address and said I cannot get 20mbps where I live. I told her the lady 2 houses down has 20mbps. She said every house is different. What the!!!! She said I could only get as high as 8mbps but it will cost me $75 a month, or I can sign another contract and they will discount the monthly price. I said forget you! So I hung up and called right back. I got a different sales person. I asked how much would it cost a month for 8mbp's. She got my address and said it would be $59 a month, but if I signed a contract they would discount my monthly fee. What the!!!!! Does Consolidated just randomly throw out prices as they please? Because that's what they are doing. I'm sick of them! I posted on our group FB page again that I called Consolidated twice and got different prices both times. So one of my neighbors said they are going to try that. She did and got 2 way different prices as well. I'm fixing to cancel and go to Comcast. At least when I call them they give me the same price every time. They are cheaper with way higher Mbp's. Online consolidated only post prices for their specials. There are no actual set prices. So you pay what they feel like charging you at that moment and try everything they can to lock you in a contract. Horrible! read more

These guys used to be great when they were not controlled from an office out of Illinois. But since then their customer service has went straight downhill. my house got struck by lightning 5 days ago and I have been without telephone internet or TV service since then. everytime I call in the morning they tell me somebody will be out today. then when I call that evening after no one has come they tell me someone will be out in the morning. Somebody in there illinois office even had the nerve to tell me that there was a bad storm Katy, TX and my problems were not that bad. Only if she had seen all of the weather report or owned a map. And I thought getting hit by lightning was kind of bad. Silly me. On another note I tried to explain to them I needed my service because I run a small business from my home. they were nice enough to tell me this because I did not have a business account I could not use this as an excuse for needing service. One guy even told me, we'll get there when we get there. I can't believe this company can be so arrogant when their service is not even that good . most of the time my wifi doesn't even work. read more

I do not have internet service for 3 nights now and it does not help when the Technical Support team is unprofessional on the phone. There is a vibe of them wanting to get you off of the phone as soon as possible. They will come up with any excuse to have you call back some other time and it feels like they do not care about their job. Unfortunately this is our only ISP that is available in our subdivision and they know this so there is a sense of arrogance when you call in. It depends on who you talk to but mostly negative. read more

Read all of the bad reviews and then believe them!! Wish we could give 0 stars. To top off their miserable and expensive service they just raised prices again. When no one showed at appointed time I called back and spoke with Team Lead, Erik who said that they could not fix my internet today nor could I speak with a manager because it was a holiday. I would not choose this service but is the only one available in our area. It is slow and we have internet problems with freezing or rebooting at least one a week. But what really got me was trying to get someone out due to lost internet. We have been without internet service for 6 days. On the first day I called and talked with a tech who was very nice, but told me they would not be able to come out for 3 days, between the hours of 8-4, I begged for better as my wife works from home and would be greatly affected by this. He could not help me so proceeded to place a service ticket for Saturday. My wife then called the next day to plead again and was told the tech could see the history where I made the trouble call but no ticket was found. He then proceeded to tell me there were no techs able to go out Fri-Sun, stating he wasnt sure why that was but the earliest he could get someone out was Monday morning between 8-10am (which was actually 6 days from the day we called). Now out of service for 6 days, and having to go find a place to work out of, Monday arrives and the tech never shows. I call again VERY frustrated and I'm told they are not sure what happened, they dropped the ball - arrgghhh!! So once again, we set a time, I get a confirmation and they are set to come out tomorrow between 8-12....we'll see!!! My suggestion....find another service provider if possible. read more
