    Consolidated Communications (CCI), based in Dallas, says they have a 1Gbps service in Katy Texas. THEY DO NOT! After many calls and hours with technical support a customer support person actually said, "Katy is at the end of CCI's network. 1 Gbps is just not possible from there"! So, they sell it, but cannot not ever provide it. They believe that the disclaimer of "your speeds will vary" covers it. Or maybe they are just talking about their own INTRAnet, not the INTERNET, when they sell it. Do not buy that service from them - I have been trying to get what I pay for and cannot even get close to half (500Mbps). I speedtest often now (testmy.net - the best speed test) and get 120-170 Mbps average. NOT 1000 Mbps! If you want fast in Katy, get service from someone else - CCI talks a big game and cannot / does not deliver.     you'll never get the speed you pay for. Nor do they offer any sort of customer support. hughes net is better than this

    Anytime you call consolidated you have to listen to an hour of commercials so I just hang up. It is so frustrating!!!

    Suddenlink Communications was extremely difficult with technical support! The automated system was…read morea terror, excessively long wait times, no resolution, etc. Heck, it took 5months for Suddenlink Communications to bury the cable flapping in the wind with each gentle evening breeze. Throughout the usual elevator music playing as I waited 10+ minutes, the call was interrupted by the standard automated urging to visit a website for help instead. (NO. I NEED HUMAN HELP HOMIE.) This process happened four times over a 2-day span. I fully anticipated the entire process, you know the call-for-tech-support-but-you-end-up-holding-forever-while-repeatedly-being-told-to-just-unplug-it joke? Well, slow clap for Suddenlink Communications because they are masters. My internet service with the company is slow but having 10+ phones, 3+ tablets, 2 laptops, 2 gaming systems and watching 2 internet tv's doesn't make it slower. It keeps right on chugging slow. Slow like pauses during online gameplay, pauses during shows, dreaded spinning circle during internet seaches. For the past week, all electronics are kicked off the internet randomly throughout the day and night. We can't watch an hour episode or play a full game of Madden without being kicked off. Calling is a option besides those wack turn-it-off solutions are wack but calling is such a loooooooooooong process. Livechat has the audacity to require your account number! I'd leave but I came to Suddenlink Communications because I had same issues with another company. Going on 30min+ and no end in sight. I wanted to officially have a response to report but...... geez.... holding past 30min usually ends with the call sounding a fax and hanging up on ME UPDATE!!! At 48min, I was able to schedule a tech for the following week.

I have been using Comcast Xfinity Internet since 2005 but grew tired of the messages that popped up on my browser window and being double charged for going over the data cap they imposed. I was not able to get any fiber at my location so decided to try StarLink by SpaceX. My StarLink came with a standard ground stand rather than any kind of mount. I looked at the available mounts StarLink offered and was not sure what to order or where to mount it. I called two highly rated places that specialize in StarLink and Satellite Dish Installation in hopes of being able to mount this thing professionally. I wanted it to look good and needed someone who might have more mounting options. Bert Berthelot who is the owner of Cable Busters! called me back in short order. the other place I called twice and never got a return call, so that made things simple. Bert set up a time that worked well for both of us and he came out and mounted my StarLink professionally, ran the wire through my wall to my Modem / Wireless Router and set the whole thing up for me. I could not be happier with the install. Later I cancelled my Comcast Xfinity Internet Provider and lived happily ever after.

Made 20 minute calls to ai voice and could not get them to connect me to tech support - can I bill you for my wasted time? No support. No info. Nothing. Drove to Montgomery Lake Conroe office yelp lists as B open but as of 1:30 sat it is closed with no hours or sign on their door JAVE NEVER HAD WORSE, unresponsive service. Guess my alternative is to contact FCC. MAYBE THEY COULD HELP YOU IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE.

That day I had approximately 6 hours on the phone with Optimum. I spoke with at least sixteen different people. The people are not the problem. They were invariably courteous and tried to be helpful. The biggest problem is the inter-office process used to communicate between offices. No matter what number you call, you are always transferred to another office. And in every case each new person asks for the same information, your full address, your phone number, your email address and your passcode. It then takes 3 to 4 minutes while the first person who answers the phone communicates with the person they're going to switch you to. Then the new person asked for the same information again. And if you're transferred a second time you have the same wait and have to repeat the same information again. It's as if this technology company is passing inter-office notes on paper between offices. And that was just for the cell phone transfer. The technician that was supposed to connect up my internet this afternoon was a no show. I received a text message that said the Technician was unable to access the required area. Even after speaking with a supervisor, no one knew what that meant. So after planning my day around a 2 Two. Five o'clock appointment, No one shows up. Today, my first full day with Optimum cell service, I was talking with a credit card company. They sent two confirmation text messages to me. Neither came through. When the company then tried to call me to confirm I was who I claimed to be, that phone call did not connect either. When speaking with Optimum tech support, they said someone would call or text me in 24 hours with a solution. If this continues, I'm moving back to my old phone and internet company. Read the reviews of Optimum and be leery. It may be less expensive, but the real cost may be greater.

We were also traveling a lot so paying for cable we weren't even home to watch. When Tachus announced they were putting fiber optic in our area we signed up, the price was so good and they said it would not go up. The installers ran the service lines out by the street so they didn't mess up our back yard like Xfinity did. Overall the service has been great, Tachus has generators for all their main branch units so they never go down after storms. Recently we did have an issue with a poor signal that kept cutting out. I called tech support and they tried trouble shooting over the phone but couldn't resolve the issue. The tech guy on the phone said he would contact the local support techs and send one to our house. I'm thinking, "oh sure, this will take a week or more". I was so surprised that we had a tech service guy call us and say he would be at our home within the hour! His name was Alphonso and he was just great. He figured out we needed a newer modem so replaced it as well as the patch cord from the modem to the wall connection as it had gone bad. He even showed my wife how to change some settings on here laptop to get it running faster! All this and no extra charges or anything. Good reliable service at a good price, we are staying with Tachus!
