Fabulous! Is one word to describe Confessions. This restaurant/lounge is meticulously decorated to the grandest it can be. Bright, eclectic vibe, very attractive restaurant inside and out. What makes this place special is not just the way they greet you, but the way they take their greeting up a notch by offering their guests a complimentary glass of champagne! Nice touch for sure! They offer outside and inside seating. Reservations are essential and will make your time there better with better aeating options. The way to access this place is by parking in the adjacent garage (Aspire), parking on the 2nd floor, walking in the direction towards Retails and taking the elevator to "2R". It will let you off right at their checkin desk. They do offer validation up to 2 hours. They offer limited seating while you wait. If coming with a party of people, it is best to make sure all members of your party are there, before they will seat you. They offer party rooms as well. Absolutely gorgeous spot for happy hour, birthday dinners, or just a night out. The music is a little too loud for a date night (if you're really trying to listen to your date...lol), but nice nonetheless. Bathrooms are beautifully decorated, which was a nice touch. I did feel that their pricing for entrees and sides was a bit high for their portion size, but the food was delicious. I selected the Salmon for my entree, this came on a bed of mashed potatoes. For the $40 cost, I feel it should have at least come with a vegetable side (i.e. their broccolini). The broccolini side by itself was $11!! This particular evening they were offering their Lychee Martinis for $1, so they made up for the lack of a vegetable with my entree. I came for a birthday dinner, so my table ordered up a lot of food. From what I tasted, it was very good. At one point in the evening, their system went down which made it challenging to pay for our meals, the elevators stopped working, and it felt like the air stopped working as well- but our Server and the rest of the Staff did their best they could to accommodate us. Things happen. I still had a great time and plan to return. Oh, and if you are in to hookah, they offer those options too. Enjoy!
We got here as they opened at 4:00 p.m. One thing that was disappointing was that they're supposed to welcome guests with a complimentary glass of champagne, but we were told they had already run out. That was surprising considering they had just opened. They also ran out of sparkling water. If you're advertising a complimentary drink, I'd expect inventory to be checked and stocked before opening for the day. Other than that, we had a really good experience. We went on Tuesday for the special where you buy two drinks and get a salad, entrée, and dessert included. It was definitely worth it! The drinks were strong, and the food was delicious. Parking was easy with the attached garage, and the restaurant validated the first two hours. Valet is also available if you prefer. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful; the décor is gorgeous and the music was great. They also offer hookah, although we didn't partake. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.
The food was cool , the drinks were a 10/10 . The sidechick will be my new fav drink! Service good . I did love the cheesecake . It's deff a favorite thing of mines . The champagne at the door is top tier and give a luxury feeling . It's always beautiful to see a black owned business doing well.
Upon entry we were greeted with a glass of champagne which was such a nice touch. The ambiance was nice, they played confessions by usher about 10 times but overall aesthetically pleasing. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. Now, we walked out of there and reflected thinking -- we just got robbed. $180 for a shared entree, appetizer, side & 2 drinks is fine I guess but the quality has to match and this wasn't it. The strawberry wings had no depth in flavor just wings tossed in strawberry jam. No seasoning, no spice, no salt, no thought. Stick to the regular flavors - and fyi the strawberry will be on in your nails for the next 24 hours. The lamb Rockefeller was innovative but just didn't hit for me. Maybe if the topping was a bit more charred but it was like spinach dip on top of lamb chops. The Mac and cheese was solid, but nothing boxed Mac & cheese can't do. You're there for the ambiance, not the food. While the food is edible, for the price point you can find way better food in Houston. If I return I'd sit at the bar & get hookah with 1 appetizer.
Reminds a solid 3 stars. Parking is validated for 2 hours in self parking. The menu presentation has improved. The sides have decreased in texture. Particularly the candid yams, they were very sticky and difficult to chew. As if I was eating airhead candy, which I dislike it entirely. I had a salmon plate with a side of rice. Both was Al la cart portions and the rice portion was less than a kid size. For $8. Reminded me of the mouthwash cup size of jollaf rice from November's event.
Had brunch at Confessions Restaurant & Lounge and really enjoyed the experience. I ordered the chicken and cookie butter waffles, which came with four full wings and four mini waffles. The waffles were fluffy and delicious, and the chicken was seasoned well and flavorful. I also tried the martini and sangria and enjoyed both. The decor is gorgeous with a fun, girly vibe that makes the space feel perfect for a birthday brunch, girls' night, or celebration. There's also patio seating available if you want to sit outside. The music was a mix of 90s R&B at the perfect volume -- enough to set the mood without making it hard to have a conversation. Parking was easy with an attached garage available. Overall, such a cute brunch spot with great vibes, good food, and a fun atmosphere.
My friend and I came here on a whim and it was the best decision! We were greeted with complimentary champagne and sat at the bar. I love decor with the pink chairs and flowers above the bar. Our bartender was really nice and took our orders pretty fast. It was happy hour and I decided on the Cajun Chicken Flatbread and Spinach Dip. Both came out piping hot and delicious. The flatbread had great flavor and was perfectly crispy The spinach dip had great flavor as well and the pita was just right. When I'm back in Houston, this will definitely be a go to place for me!
I was highly impressed! Upon coming out of the elevator, we were greeted with complimentary champagne. If you're into aesthetics, this is the place for you. We sat at the bar and enjoyed happy hour which included half off appetizers and flatbreads. My friend tried one of the flatbreads and spinach dip while I had the calamari and strawberry cornbread. I will say it was just regular cornbread with a slight drizzle and strawberry garnish but it was still good. I would come here every time I come to Houston.
This is a great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or to just hang with friends, your partner, or by yourself at the bar. The decor is amazing, the music is a mix between R&B, Hip-Hop, and Afrobeats. Our server was friendly and very attentive. She checked on us the right amount of time. Our food came out pretty quickly too, so no complaints there. I would recommend coming out and checking this place out. Heat of the moment: 10/10.. perfectly spicy and perfectly balanced. It is not sweet nor bitter. This drink is perfectly in the middle. Spicy peach wings: 10/10.. I got them breaded and every bite was full of flavor. It was not too sweet and not too spicy. I highly recommend getting these. Brussels sprouts: 8/10.. They were good but nothing truly wowing about them. The sauce is what makes them great and it does have bits of bacon. Spinach dip with crab: 8/10.. this dip was amazing... except for the crab.. the crab meat was not good and tasted too much like the ocean. Crab is supposed to have a slight sweet taste to it. It's probably because I lived in Maryland and know how crab is supposed to taste. Texas got crawfish on lock but crab... eh.. I say get the regular spinach dip.
New place I've never heard of! Hot Truffle Chicken. Amazing! Peach covered wings. Delicious! All of it was very different than anything I've ever had before, but so good! Oh, and Chase was fantastic! Great recommendations and even better service!
Because Yelp recommended it, I looked at the Confessions website and immediately suggested it to my dinner group based solely on the aesthetic portrayed in the photos. Later, when I found out it was a hookah bar, I became concerned, for my friends and I are definitely foodies with high expectations when it comes to food. However, midway through our appetizers, my concerns dissipated as the oohs and aahs floated across our table. We were a party of 7, and every one of us, without exception, remarked at the deliciousness of each offering. We had the calamari (perfectly tender and crispy,) the pasta (Al dente and oh so very savory!) the hummus (the accompanying pita triangles were incredibly crisp and the dish delightful,) and the rosemary truffle fries, which were, again, perfectly crispy, and incredibly flavorful. For entrees, a couple of us had the burger (wonderful, and the bacon jam is a GAME-CHANGER.) the Cajun Alfredo (packs a punch in flavor,) the Honey Truffle Chicken (outstanding.) the Crab Fried rice (I didn't taste it, but the person who ordered it loved it,) and the Kabobs. (Again, I didn't taste them, but the person who ordered the dish said it was excellent.) The cocktails were wonderful, as well. Back to the ambience: it's certainly beautiful, airy, with tall ceilings and abundant natural light from the expansive windows. The furniture is tasteful modern-eclectic and comfortable: something else we all noticed is it was void of any odors - very fresh and clean, which is huge for a hookah bar. Service, like the food, was outstanding. Every single staffer we encountered was gracious, welcoming, and genuinely warm. We appreciated the recommendations from our server and the visits from management. So, Confessions has it all, and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu. What an awesome find!
The hostess did a good job with getting a table for us even though it was packed and there was a long wait due to them reseating the people from outside due to the storm. Priscilla was our server and she was so kind and patient with us. She took great care of our table and made our experience very enjoyable. All of the staff that we interacted with were kind, respectful and patient. We enjoyed the Girls' Dinner. I think it is a great concept. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. We will definitely return.
My friend and I went for Sunday brunch. The TLDR of it is--service is rough, but the food and atmosphere are great. Our first impression was unfortunately negative. Parking in the garage costs $16. It tells you on the way in that you must pay to park within 15 minutes of arrival or else you risk being towed. So I scanned and paid as we were walking in. At the hostess counter, we were informed that they validate, but not retroactively. The hostess goes "well for next time, now you know we cover two hours free." That isn't helpful for me today. Now I just wasted $16 because, despite having signage of how to get to the restaurant, nowhere does it say to wait to scan the code to pay until check in so you can validate. I watched so many parties check in and also get frustrated about learning about validation after the fact. This needs to be communicated with signage. An additional $16 to park is absurd, especially when drinks and food start at $20+. And especially when a simple sign could avoid that for all patrons. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food was so so good. However, the music was overbearingly loud for a brunch. I understand it being that loud as a club, but for a Sunday at 11 am, it did feel like we had to raise our voices to talk. Food and drink wise: My friend and I both got the hot honey chicken biscuits and they were amazing. They're pricey but the portion is big and we both had leftovers so no complaints. Her margarita was great, my espresso martini was not. It was overly strong and had no foam, which means the bartender didn't ensure it was cold enough in the shaker. That was disappointing considering the price tag. I could have gotten the best one in the city at Julep for $5 less. Service wasn't bad but it was definitely off. The hostess stand sat people out of order, so parties that checked in after us sat first and we sat before people who got there ahead of us. Our server was nice but very unsure. It was loud like I mentioned, and he was very mumbly and meek during every interaction. Also, they automatically add gratuity to each check, even though my table size was 2. And I had to ask my server about it because he did not inform us as we were paying. So just watch out for that. Based on food alone, I'd come back but in taking everything else into consideration, I likely will not.

I was able to book a reservation and arrived a little before my booked time. The valet traffic was super backed up with traffic lined down Kirby. You don't have to valet and should park in the parking garage and there's a QR code at the check in desk that you can scan to get your parking validated! Parking in the garage will save you $10. Confessions is upstairs so you'll need to walk inside of the building to get to it. Inside is really cute there was a heavy grease smell. Our waiter took our order and the food came out quickly. Everything we tried was great except the biscoff cheese cake. Only the cookie on top is biscoff the crust is not. The music was a little loud but the playlist was a vibe. read more

I really wanted to like this spot. I do understand they just recently opened but there were some parts of my visit I did not enjoy. The service was very slow, they ran out of a lot of food options on the menu, food took forever to come out and you could tell that part of the dish was made before the other (mashed potato was cold and Chicken hot). Was not a fan of the taste mix of honey chicken and mash potatoes either. The presentation was cute but didn't fit the functionality on how it was supposed to be eaten. Drink also took a long time to come although it was just wine. Hookah was fast but burned out quickly. I will say the design of the restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is amazing. Will check it out again in the future, but most likely only for drinks. read more
I had high expectations after seeing this place on my timeline so much. We arrived for our 6pm reservation early and were seated right away. I must say that the decor is gorgeous. They have a big patio space that I can see being a big hit. Our waitress informed us of the happy hour specials and the menu specifications of no substitutions. We saw wings were on the happy hour menu and decided to order some but the waitress informed us only the strawberry wings were on happy hour. Neither of us wanted those so we just decided to get our entree. We both decided on the lamb chops and asked what sides came with it, only to find out we had to order them separately. So we ordered fries, there were literally about 15 fries on the plate. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Upon leaving the restaurant the hostess gave me a parking validation slip, when I got to the exit the machine was broken and there were no assistants present to help so I ended up paying for my parking. I will not be returning to this establishment. read more
New resturant alert! We checked out Confessions last night for our Thursday night Date Night. This was the soft opening and has only been open for a week so you know we had to check it out. It is located off of Kirby. When you pull up you have the option to pay $10.00 for valet or $5.00 for self parking that resturant will validate. We loved aesthics and vibe of the resturant. It is gorgeous in there. You have the option of inside dining or patio. We were greeted by our waiter Bali. He was awesome. He took care of us from start to finish. We were greeted with free champagne. Of course we had our sidecars which were good. The food is pretty good. The chicken alfrefo was good but a little spicy. We decided to be bold and get the strawberry wings. They were actually pretty good. They taste like a korean bbq sauce almost. The mac and cheese was good. The truffle chicken wasn't my favorite. The lemon pepper wings were really good. They are known for their Rockefeller lambchops..however i don't eat lambchops so i don't have an opinion. However the lady next to us was sucking the bones! The prices are decent. There is no dress code so half the people cute cute and the other half were very comfortable. The DJ was cool. Customer service a 10. The manager came and checked on us. Hookah was on all the tables..guess it was that kind of night. It's definitely worth a try. They will be open from 4pm to 4am in the weekends so check them out. read more

The strawberry wings we absolutely amazing! I was skeptical at first but I 100% recommend. The Covered lamb chops were good and the honey chicken was too. But the wings hones was the best thing. Service was really slow. Not sure if the guy was new but he was not attentive. Had to wait quite a while for silverware. The Ambiance however was AMAZING! If you don't mind waiting a while between ordering I would say it's a go. I'm big on service so if waiters was on point would be 4 possibly 5. read more

It was a whole vibe! Great ambiance, awesome service, and the food was good. The music was loud enough to hear but not to the point where you could not hear your table conversation. Our server was very attentive yet not overbearing. Be mindful that there is a time limit for dining at the tables, and I think it's 2 hours. I'm not sure if the clock starts when you're seated or after the food comes but there is definitely a time limit because we were asked to leave. Thankfully we had finished eating. Be sure to ask upfront when making plans to reserve for a celebration such as a birthday. Overall it was a great experience. read more

Overall my experience was good. My fiancé and I went on Saturday night and the wait for indoor seating was about an hour so they offered us the patio seating. The restaurant is beautiful! But the outdoor patio section needs some work. ONE, they need a speaker as you couldn't hear the music from indoors too well. Though they had the sliding doors open, it just wasn't the same. TWO, the solid white tables were so thin, that it was leaning if we rested our arms on them. As for the food, we both ordered the Rockefeller Lamb chops, Brussels Sprouts, and mashed potatoes. The food arrived pretty quick, but we had to wait about 5 mins on silverware. :( The lamb chops were amazing! The brussels sprouts were drowning in honey - which made them too sweet! So not for our liking. The mashed potatoes were good. read more

Went to confessions on a Wednesday and it was LIT! I enjoyed that the happy hour gave half off lemon drop drinks and my food was very good. The server was very personable but when my food didn't come out, I had to take it to go. The house manager did address the issue which I'm grateful for but there was nothing offered for the discrepancy (not to be expected but.. ya know). I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a cute rooftop restaurant in Houston! I'm pretty sure brunches are lit. read more
Some people may be business casual and some casual. Service is great. Staff don't mind assisting you when your server isn't available. Great at tag teaming. Me and my friends had the wings & truffle fries. Everything was great. read more

Went for a Date Night and a girls night out! Was pleased both times. Food did not disappoint especially the yams lamb chops and Mac and cheese...all were delicious. Hookah is a little pricey. Ambiance was very nice. I love the way it's decorated. The server and management staff were amazing. Drinks on point!! Check it out and you won't be disappointed read more

I was trying to find a new place to do a date day with my husband but ended up being HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Not only did our drinks come out way after our food but also after the party who came after us got their drinks. We had to asked about our drinks TWICE (we ordered a second round) before the waiter went to check on our drinks. Our water had unknown particles in it and my husband's broccolini had a curly hair in it. The food was mediocre, at best. The service was slow and that's being generous. We hesitated on asking for a manager or not to voice our concerns since it's a new establishment and i know there's kinks to work out; however, when we did, it took over 10 mins for the manager to see us and even then, it felt like excuses at this point. She did say that she'd comp our next drinks or dessert but by that time, my husband was ready to leave. Thank you Keisha for at least trying. Our waiter didn't apologize for the service or lack of at anytime during our meal nor acknowledge any fault in the establishment's side; instead, he threw passive aggressive shade with the guests behind us. For an establishment that automatically charges a 20% service change, we expected better. We don't mind paying for good food or good service but we received neither on our $230+ bill. Their only saving grace was the hookah. read more

The ambiance is beautiful. There is plenty of parking and valet. They will not seat uncompleted parties. The wait staff including the hookah guys are very attentive. Unfortunately on Friday night there were only two bartenders and the drinks took forever to come. We ordered the strawberry chicken, pasta, fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and flatbread. The pasta was very flavorful and the fried chicken and mash were good. The strawberry chicken batter was too thick. I think if they take off some of the batter it would be better. The flatbread was doughy not crispy as it should be and the cheese was stiff as if it had been sitting for a while. The hookah people are good and they come and check constantly. They are very helpful if there are any issues. The drinks were underwhelming. We ordered lemondrops, french 75, and dirty martinis. The dirty martinis had no olives and little to no olive juice so im unsure how they were made. The lemondrops were way too sweet and didnt taste like alcohol was in them. The French 75 was decent. I may return if Im in the area and thats the only option but it wont be a place I first choose to go. They just need to work on some things. The two hour limit is understandable but not when it takes 20 min to receive drinks and refills. read more

This place was soooooo amazing, Chelcey was the best server. She's truly amazing. She was so kind spirited and all her recommendations was so helpful!! 10/10 definitely recommend you try this spot! Being completely transparent, this restaurant was on its way to a 3 solid stars. Granted, my beautiful date and I were 15 minutes late, we didn't see a server 20 minutes after until we sat down. I would say the place was so busy, but we had many waiters pass by us without even checking to see how we were looking. Secondly, the menu....the hookah selection had more to choose from than the actual food menu. It wasn't versatile at all, but the selections they had sounded good. Ok, that's really all the bad stuff, now onto the good. Mr./Mrs./Ms. Manager, you need to give yo server True a raise immediately because he's the one of the main reasons this review gets 5 stars. He came out of his zone to take care of us, he even educated us on the menu, making our selection much easier. His service made up for a lot! But the obvious star was the food...them Strawberry Wings ain't nothing to play with. Imagine gourmet mall Chinese sweet and sour chicken wings with a hint of strawberry. That's the best way I can explain it. I also got the Cajun Chicken Flatbread and the Rosemary Truffle Fries, both were fantastic! My lady got the Honey Truffle Chicken and the Mac & Cheese, it was DEE-licious (I know, because I stole some off her plate while she went to the restroom )! Chicken was CRUNCHY (the right kind) and they seasoned tf out of it. The Mac & Cheese were really good, they just needed to season it more (salt and pepper or SOMEthing). The overall vibe of the restaurant was also nice, a very nice aesthetic for a night out with a special one or some friends! I would highly recommend this to anyone; I just think earlier today they were a little off their game. Which is ok, they're fairly new and honestly doing a great job. Also, if you're the type to get cold, bring a jacket, or ask to sit out (hoping the weather is reasonable). They keep it cool to circulate the hookah smoke. read more
