As i was stayin at cousin this cute little cafe was my goto coffee fix in the morning. I was very surprised by friendly service and the quality of food and drinks. They use victrola coffee which i have never had and it was pretty good because im more used to the starbucks coffee(sorry seattle folks) my last day i decided to try their lunch panini .. i had their roast beef panini and it was very tasty and with their pina colada bubble teA! Not a bad little coffee shop. Free wifi, relatively quiet, cute decor and plenty of seating. They have a nice selection of tea and if you stay there they will give you a whole tea pot. My lavender and chamomile tea was delicious and not more than a few dollars. The staff is friendly and they also serve food along with other snacks. read more

I walked into this place because to sandwich boards outside on the sidewalk advertise that they had Boba and Panini's. Come to find out that they only make boba on nice days, a strange caveat in cloudy Seattle. Maybe don't use Boba as a selling point if you don't even serve it? Nevertheless, I ordered a panini and a side salad. Panini was subpar. Basically just a warm sandwich. No grill or panini press in sight. What really killed it for me though was the mold on the microscopic side salad. Not just a little mold. I'm talking like a fleece lining on an entire piece of lettuce. Truly revolting. Been here a couple of times and people are friendly and service was quick. My main complaints are that food could be a little higher quality for price and also don't nickel and dime people for everything. I ordered avocado as an extra and got what I consider to be a measly amount (see picture), and I asked for cream cheese for my BAGEL sandwich and they charge extra...come on. Also smoothie didn't fill cup. I don't know, you guys charge enough to do better than skimping. update: I got a response from the company which is great and they offered a free product, so that was very generous. I think that says a lot. But I still feel like it was mostly just giving excuses. So you charge for cream cheese because not everyone wants it? Sorry, that doesn't make sense. What's next, charging for sugar in coffee because not everyone wants it? If you need to track your tiny cream cheese packages that closely, you could have it itemized but priced at zero. And that was not "4 slices of avocado", it was probably the equivalent of cutting an avocado in half, then cutting it in half again, and giving me 4 slices from that. And the smoothie isn't filled up because it spills? Sorry, I've never had this problem before...and also I'm an adult and know how to not make a mess when inserting a straw... AND I paid about $6 for a 20 oz smoothie - so my suggestion is that if your tactic is to jip everyone a few ounces because of the mess, maybe knock down the price a bit... just don't say other shops have the same practice (they don't) and customers make a mess (we don't). I'll stick to the other cafes, which contrary to your "knowledge", do not charge me extra for cream cheese on my bagel sandwich. So you can take your cream cheese packet and....you know :) read more

I've been coming to Coffee Tree for over 4 years and I still love them! Victrola is one of the BEST roasters in Seattle plus the baristas here really know how to make the drinks extra special and yummy as you can see in my picture. I never have to wait a long time for my orders & the staff always greets me with a warm welcome. They have a rewards program for regulars which earns you free drinks & if you're hungry, there's never a shortage of options from bakery items to made-to-order breakfast sandwiches & paninis (YUMMY)! Not a bad place. Staff is always friendly, coffee tastes good and fresh. The sandwiches are decently priced, I like to add egg to a croissant veg breakfast sandwich, yum. The bubble tea is decent but is made with cows milk, which isn't what I am used to, and it's not well advertised that it is not dairy-free,so make sure to ask to switch up the "milk" in it if you are so inclined. Prices are average, but the snacks and oatmeal are steeply priced. They do have a tracking iPad where you check in each visit to get a free drink after the 10th visit, which is a nice bonus. Music is always playing and isn't too loud, which is great since it is a small place. They always have local artist's work on the walls, which is a great way to feel like part of the community. read more

I want to like this place. The atmosphere is very calming and modern and clean. I am kind of a tea critic so I'm pretty particular, however I gave this place two chances. They have a seemingly great tea selection and have small little containers you can smell them. But both times my iced tea turned out awful. I couldn't finish it and had to throw them out. CUTE, Coffee Tree is my happy little morning place. I love the atmosphere & feel very comfortable here. I have been going to Coffee Tree for almost a year--and am moving to another side of the city now..... The staff are all so great, I've gotten to know most of those girls pretty well--they are so sweet and kind. I even bought artwork from one of them (Savannah) who cross-stitches and sells her artwork at the Coffee Tree (picture--hand w/lavender). The couple that owns Coffee Tree and Coffee Tree & Poke are sweet and always remember what I order. I love it here. I've been frequenting this place for some time and while the service has always been top notch, recently it has taken a huge dive. I believe there are new owners since this one lady is is always in the building as of recently and she can hardly speak any English which, if you're serving to mainly English speaking customers, can be a big problem. She has messed up many orders and even over charged me multiple times. I also had an unfortunate situation where I was served terribly old and rotten meat. The other day, I also over heard who I assume to be a manager talking with an employee outside, in the open, using very unprofessional conduct and language which seemed to humiliate her right in front of everyone. I don't recommend this place to anyone in the area. It has really gone down hill and there are other options nearby. read more

I wanted a new coffee place near my work; I wanted it to be Coffee Tree. You can't always get what you want, as the great prophets, The Rolling Stones, have told us. I have to give the caveat that this place isn't bad. The coffee wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't good. I am typically a black coffee girl, but I wanted a floofy drink, so I went for a raspberry mocha frapp. I was hoping it was the greatest frapp of my life (it wasn't), and here is why: The service- BOO! Kat L. said it best when she mentioned that Seattle is full of awesome baristas, but it seems like Coffee Tree has people that just don't care. It took at least 10 minutes to get my drink, and the place wasn't busy. I was the ONLY person in line with maybe 2-3 other people in the joint. I can have a line of 7 people at Starbucks and get it faster. What's more, it's like I was an inconvenience to the person behind the counter for even asking to order something. When the guy was making the drink, he was kind of wandering around aimlessly, no hustle. I don't expect a 20 second turnaround time, but, I shouldn't have to wait that long to just get a drink. The drink itself was average, and the sweet was really overpowering. The raspberry part of the drink was nonexistent, and I wasn't even sure there was even coffee in there. On a good note, I DO like that they are all about using compostable items and the environment, but geez, they need to step it up if they want to say in business in a place like Seattle. read more

A nice clean spot for some really good coffee drinks. I had one of the best macchiatos in awhile, and looks like they used coffee beans from Victrola. They also have a small menu of panninis and some baked goods as well. As other reviewers have pointed out, however, is that they leave the door open, perhaps to air out the place as ventilation may not be great and they do toast bread and press sandwiches. It amy be ok on a summer day, but during the coldest week in Seattle in 20 and 30 degree temps, it was awfully cold in there. read more

I've been there twice now and as much as i'd love to say i like them, i don't :( I got overcharged the first time, two small mueslis and two coffees ended up costing about $16 even after she corrected the amount. The second encounter was this morning and the only reason i'm leaving this review is that i really want to help owners get their priorities right. What happened? I order a large earl grey tea with steamed milk and ask if they can put a second teabag in the cup (which they don't do automatically like other places i guess), answer no problem! sweet I think but as the girls tells her colleague (Asian girl) to put in two bags she remarks that's an extra charge, my receipt already printed for signature i friendly offer to put the amount as a tip instead. How much is it extra i ask? She hesitates and replies $2 and i put it as a tip telling myself i don't like to argue over a few dollars. I ended up paying $6.26 for two tea bags, a cup and a bit of steamed milk!! Really? I'm not angry at all. I just rather help these people to create value rather than destruct it and drive people away. To the owner & mgmt: Bottom line is you made an extra $2-cost of teabag, probably 20cents. Invest a few cents in creating loyalty instead! I live across the street, i could easily come by 3 times a week. That's 3x$4 at least per week, that's $56 per month, plus an occasional breakfast. You do the math. For the time being i'll get my coffee somewhere else. read more

Don't order if you are in a rush! They are slower than snails! I've been waiting for my veggie panini for over 10 minutes and no one is in here. Before leaving I asked to speak to a manager and the two employees looked at me with a blank face. I told them that waiting 20 minutes for a panini is not acceptable. Their response, "uh...sorry?". We were staying down the street from this spot while in Seattle for a long weekend. While we were there, the espresso machine was broken. 3 people that were waiting for their drinks in front of us walked out because they had to wait so long. We ordered 2 pour over coffees and only 1 of the 3 people working knew how to make it. They only have 1 pour over contraption so it took 15 min to make just one. We had to leave so I asked them to just give me an iced tea instead of a second coffee. They complied but wait a minnn...an iced tea cost nearly 1/2 the price of the pour over coffee yet they did not offer to give me back any money or throw in a pastry or something to make up for it. I mostly go here for convenience since work is 5 minute walk away. Baristas are friendly and usually remember my everyday order. I like their breakfast sandwiches, especially on a toasted croissant. They've mixed up my food order a couple times and they always have their doors open, even when it's cold! The internet is kind of spotty but if you ask, an employee will restart the router/modem for you. The coffee is pretty good and their selection of pastries isn't bad. My biggest turn off is just the doors being open all the time. Overall, your average convenient cafe down the street! read more

Such a cute cafe within walking distance from the Renaissance Hotel. Got a bacon and egg croissant and a everything bagel with avocado, egg and cheese. Good seating and quiet. Saw kids playing, dogs and people studying or chatting. The only negative was all the seeds on the everything bagel. I thought everything meant cheese and jalapeño and stuff. I was able to remove it and still enjoy breakfast. Will be back if in town. read more

I just moved here to Seattle and have indeed noticed that the 2000+ coffee shops here really make for our unique coffee experience! I've read some of the previous reviews about Coffee Tree and though some things are true, like sometimes it takes a little long to get something there, there really isn't anything to complain about. In fact I think the quality of the food and the drinks are outstanding and the service is always very friendly and accurate! The inside is not super-spacious but very comfortable and I've never seen it to where you can't get a seat... It's conveniently located and has a nice charm! I will continue to be a customer there, not just because I live close by, but because of the variety and quality of the food/drinks and the fun/friendly service :) read more

Coffee Tree's new big thing is that it's now open Sundays ... well, sort of. I walked in almost exactly 20 minutes before closing this past Sunday and asked for a mocha, only to be informed that the espresso machine had been turned off because they were closing soon. A couple walked in after me and also tried to order espresso-based drinks, only to receive the same answer. Very surprising for a coffee shop in Seattle. I'm not sure what the point is in staying open if you're not going to serve the beverages people want. And, I'm certainly no barista, but is there really any harm in keeping the machine on for a bit longer? So ... I ended up with a regular coffee. They serve Victrola coffee ... it's not bad but neither am I super impressed. read more

Came here about a month or so ago. Had an early doctor's appointment on a Friday and the day off. I got done early and knew no stores would be open had heard about this coffee shop and had been wanting to check it out. Maybe I should have went to the one not far away that sells poke. The service was good and I had a great latte, but it was probably not the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had mostly because it wasn't cooked or heated up enough. Or maybe it's just me. I'm guessing it was microwaved possibly. I must be used to having a breakfast sandwich heated up on a panini machine. The English muffin just seemed soft and not all that exciting and I think I probably thought it was going to be nicely toasty and melty. The cheese wasn't melted that much which makes me think either they were busy and didn't have time to check. I would definitely give them another try cause they appear to have a lot of variety pastries for breakfast, I probably just wouldn't get a breakfast sandwich next time. read more
