This place is my favorite in downtown Covington. If you are looking for a place with greasy fried food than this may not be what you are looking for. The menu offers a wide variety of fresh healthier options, all of which are delicious. The BEST salads in town hands down. My favorite sandwich is the Poppy Seed Chicken. They also have a good selection of tasty deserts. Being a student at the Delgado Covington Campus I loved to come here to have a nice quiet place to study. The have free WI-Fi as well. Every time I pass through the area I always have to stop here. read more

Okay, I am fairly new to the area and I have already eaten here three times - it's so delicious! It's pretty reasonably priced as well, you can get a seared tuna sandwich for under $9. The only downside is if you go during a rush (anytime after 11:45a-3p) you may be standing around waiting for a table for a bit. So far my favorite has been the Tandoori Tuna sandwich, followed by the poppy chicken sandwich. The combination of flavors is just amazing. I have told myself every time I am going to try something from their extensive salad menu, but I always end up getting a sandwich - they haven't let me down yet! I love the coffee drinks (especially the iced coffee) and breakfast food. The muffins are wonderful. That is why I am giving 4 stars. I do not find the lunch and dinner food as tasty, though. The salads sound as if they would be delicious by the menu descriptions, but they are not so good. I am very picky about lettuce. Ordered today thru WAITR for lunch and had crawfish Monica. Not good. It was a blob of angel hair with sauce that was lacking in quantity and not seasoned anything like jazz fest crawfish (which it is advertised as on their menu). So it basically made for a dry blob mess. Crawfish tastes frozen and metallic-like, just not what I was expecting for the price. The portion was large ( again of pasta not sauce) and it was delivered with plasticware in a styrofoam to go box. Maybe next time I'll order a salad. The pasta was a waste of money. read more

Their food is just okay, nothing special about it. It's pricey for what you get & never is anything memorable. They do have a couple good desserts in there but majority, if not all, is sold to them from outside sources. It's also hit or miss with the staff in there. Sometimes you get a really friendly person and then other times you get a person that will give you an attitude if you even ask them a question. read more

My mother and I had Ash Wednesday lunch here, so I'm long overdue to review it. I had the mushroom burger. It was delicious and their yellow jasmine vines were blooming, which made it very nice to take advantage of their lovely outdoor seating. We should have taken a table on the Lee Lane side instead of the Boston St. side of the wrap-around (porch? deck?) because the traffic is a bit much. I went here again with a cousin for bruch last week. I had a single egg sardou. It was good and the prices are right here for brunch and there are limited brunch options on the Northshore. I have to say, though, I'd much rather sit down and be served at brunch than do the cafe-ordering thing. The cafe-ordering thing is fine for lunch but I'm feeling lazier before noon on a Sunday. Anyway, this is a reccomended place. They have a Weight Watchers menu and some vegetarian options (like the mushroom burger I had). SUPER cute cafe! They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating on a very lovely deck. They had a good number of vegetarian options, which I sincerely appreciated. Their iced tea of the day was mango, and it was quite enjoyable (unsweetened, though, so if sweetened is your thing, then, sorry). My sandwich was good, and the tomato basil soup was really good. From out of town and was looking for a nice hole in the wall breakfast in that those are usually the best. I chose poorly. We ordered at the counter and sat for over 40 minutes as we watched people come in after us be served. Would have walked out, however had to pay when we ordered. FINALLY got our food just to told that they were out of grits, the side of bacon was a pile of crumbs. Will NEVER return. May be a great spot for locals and regulars, but not if you are from out of town and don't know the workers. read more

I had the tomato basil soup today and I have to say it was probably the best I've ever had, from anywhere. The Grilled Salmon Salad is my favorite and they did not disappoint me today. The salmon perfectly cooked and the greens fresh. One issue I have is the noise level. I could barely hear my dining companion and at one point we were practically shouting at one another in order to hear each other. However, it was the lunch rush, the doors open with passing trucks on the street, and sometimes you just can't help the acoustics in a building! Great place to eat. Highly recommend it. I'd love to try everything on the menu but I can't get past how wonderful the salmon salad is. Hopefully I'll be adventurous one day and order something else. I've eaten at this restaurant quite a few times and the only complaint I have regarding the food is the last time I was there I ordered a piece of the wedding cake (my favorite) and it was dry, so dry I didn't finish it. We were visiting Covington for the time and were excited to visit Coffee Rani. Their website boasted about their "green" practices and their use of local eggs from a nearby Abita Springs farm. When we walked into the restaurant, the hostess had her back turned to us, did not greet us, and said nothing at all until we asked her how to go about ordering. Her reply was blunt and unfriendly. We ordered a garden veggie omelette, which comes with fruit and toast. The omelette tasted fine, but the fruit was dry and the toast was cold. The meal and the experience was definitely not worth the $15 we paid. read more

Was not expecting much at first but the workers up front named Jordan and Emily were two of the nicest people I've ever experienced in food service. Both were very joyful and so helpful when I asked about what's good and they offered great knowledge on the menu and listed some of the more popular menu items. Was out in Covington with some friends and we decided to stop here for a bite to eat. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, but was blown away by the quality of the staff. A girl named Emily helped me, and she went more than out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. While i was sitting, another employee, Jordan, regularly came to check on me and make sure i has everything i needed. thanks to them, I will be a new regular customer here. I absolutely love this restaurant and the food must be the best in Covington and Mandeville. However, on occasion, waitresses can be rude.

The best thing about this cafe is the wedding cake sold by the slice that they get from Zoe's. The turkey Rueben is good but it's not a large portion for the price. It's also a bit loud during lunch, so don't go for conversation because you will end up yelling and give yourself a huge headache. read more

So I went in to get a veggie quesadilla, waited 50 minutes. No one came over and told me it was coming or sorry about the wait. The staff was nice and all but I just spent $15 plus a 3 dollar tip on a veggie quesadilla and a gross ice coffee. When my order was finally ready she called me over to the counter and gave me my food. She did apologize and offer a refill (on my full coffee I didn't even touch in the 45 minutes I was waiting) I wouldn't have even written this review if my food was good. But once I finally got home and opened the box my food was covered in this weird ranch sauce. They put the salsa in a closed container but for some reason put the ranch in an open little paper cup and it of course spilled everywhere. I don't like ranch. I didn't want to open the box to find my food absolutely covered in ranch, that's not what I ordered. I really don't understand why you would put one sauce in a sealed container but not the other one... it's a Togo order. You'd think after making me wait so long youd make sure the order was perfect. But again, the staff was really nice the whole time. read more

went there today, Sunday 12/30/18 for brunch. The food was good but I'm only giving 4 stars because of the service. These women working here seemed miserable, especially the older woman who was cleaning the tables and bringing out the food. We sat at a dirty table for about 10 minutes while she cleared tables all around us. There was a younger woman doing it too that ignored us but she wasn't as rude. The older one with the shoulder length brown hair pulled up or back somewhat, brought some of our food out with another one. I told her a specific plate was mine but then my daughter realized it was hers and said so. The woman was very abrupt and said something in a rude voice bc she had intended on giving it to my daughter in the first place. She was rude when we first got there too when we had a question about brunch on the menu. She just grabbed the menu from my daughter's hands and explained the answer to my daughter's question like she was stupid. These people should remember there in the SERVICE business and they shouldn't be rude! read more
