Service and coffee were excellent! I ordered a lavender honey iced latte and it was delicious. The ambiance is perfect- it's hard to beat a wrap around porch with a beautiful garden view. The woman that took our order was very pleasant and the gentleman making the coffee was also really nice. I don't know where the bad reviews are coming from but this is a great coffee house and we'll be back again tomorrow. read more

The owner shushed my 3-year-old son for simply asking my husband and I for a croissant while at the register -- and that was just the beginning. We came in with 6 adults and 5 toddlers/kids, ready to enjoy breakfast, and instead we were met with some of the rudest behavior I've ever seen in a business. We sat outside, away from the few people inside. My $7 bagel came out burned, and although they remade it, they acted like doing their job was an inconvenience. Quiche was mediocre. I asked for an ice water to go along with my iced latte and the owner pointed to the fridge and said there's bottled water as if I was annoying him. He said they don't have a filter for the tap. How does a coffee shop not provide ice water? Get a filter! After we had finished eating, we took a quick picture of the kids in the swinging chair on the front porch. The male owner came to the doorway and snapped at us for being "too loud." I told him, "They're children. He is 1 years old." and he fired back, "Keep them under control." When I said he must not have kids, he actually scoffed and said "No," as if the idea itself was beneath him. I told him we'd never return, and his wife loudly said from behind the counter inside, "Good!" and "We lost a customer because of you all!" The level of pettiness and hostility was shocking -- especially after we'd already spent a significant amount of money there. This place is run by owners who clearly do not like families, do not understand hospitality, and do not treat customers with even basic respect. There are plenty of places in St. Augustine that are warm, welcoming, and kind. This is absolutely not one of them. read more

We ordered (yes non dairy milk) and sat outside on the wrap around porch for some light people watching. Cozy and eclectic inside with some books and games. Don't let the name fool you. This coffee house has fabulous coffee and treats along with an ambience that cannot be matched. The interiors are like sitting in a very eclectic living room room in an old home in the heart of St Augustine. This owner is obnoxious. Our book club has used this venue two times and each time there was a rude occurrence by the owner. The people in the book club always make sure to buy something when there and the weather was so nice we sat outside to read. Although the place 'looks inviting' with a free book section, a puzzle stand, chess set and checkers, the owner doesn't want you to stay. He complained that last time we stayed two hours although there were empty tables where others could sit. This time as I sat down to read my ebook for the bookclub on my ipad, the owner came out and admonished me and said 'No laptops!" I said I am on an ipad and reading a book. He said "No laptops!" I used to work in IT so there is a CLEAR difference between a laptop and an ipad but he obviously is ignorant of this fact. When my husband went in to talk to him about this difference and we here with a BOOK CLUB, paying you money and bringing people to this establishment, he complained that the last time we were here we stayed too long. The club organizer explained, you have books here, to read, while one is here. My husband said that my wife has an ipad to READ. He said anything with a keyboard is a laptop. We had ordered a sweet tea, my husband got an unsweet tea. I would recommend going across the street to the coffee shop that is much more friendly place. We don't give mean people our money and I regret that we even spent money before the event as I also left a tip which I didn't even need to do as there is NO service, this is just a kiosk cleverly hidden in a house with a wrap around porch. Inviting on the outside but absolutely mindblowingly poor service and demeaning man on the inside. I would give a zero but have to press at least one star. Please don't give money to this establishment. If he was THIS ADAMANT about the zero laptop policy he should put up signs stating this policy, Not southern, not from around St Augustine it is clear as we say where I'm from 'He HAINT from around here." read more

Cute from the outside but honestly a terrible experience. Came in on a weekday morning to grab coffee and work remotely since we were out of town and had already checked out of our hotel. My boyfriend and I spent $45 on two coffees and three pastries, which is already wild. Then I asked for a cup of water and was told I had to buy a bottle instead. I've never been told that in my life as a paying customer at a coffee shop. If that's somehow a Florida law, feel free to correct me, but it felt ridiculous. We sit down and the pastries are rock hard and ice cold, even though we were told they'd be heated. Then my boyfriend takes out his laptop to do some work and a man working there comes over and tells us to put it away because they have a no computer policy. There were no signs anywhere saying that. I've never heard of a coffee shop not allowing laptops, especially without clearly posting it. Overall just bad vibes, overpriced mediocre food, and really poor customer service. Definitely not a welcoming place. We left and went next door to Spinster Abbott's instead. Totally different experience. Great vibes, friendly staff. Go there instead. read more

This gorgeous coffee house has become my morning go to this past week. I discovered today that they are closed on Monday's- shame. I started with cafe con leche and just love that strong cup of coffee! The house has plenty of art everywhere, lovely seating inside and out. I prefer sitting on the porch swing, & have thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee and various baked goods! I also tried my cafe con leche iced, iced and hot lattes & I am working my way through the pastry case. The cherry-cheese croissant was delicious! I also loved the spinach croissant. I stopped here because I was looking for a coffee shop and it seemed cute. The gentleman inside was delightful, but the woman was quite rude. I asked if I could get my water bottle filled with tap water, and she acted disgusted and said they don't touch other people's stuff. When I asked for a cup of ice water, then, she pointed to a case and said - we have bottled water. Fine, I understand her points, but her rudeness and attitude will surely make me pick another coffee shop next time. There are plenty of others. read more

Stopped in for a cold brewed ice tea with the family on our first visit to St Augustine. An older gentleman asked if I wanted a latte- after several times asking for a tea, he asked - black or green? I asked for the green tea and he just pulled out a bottled green tea. I had to ask for a cup of ice. My husband proceeded to use the restroom and then I used it after. When my daughter went to use it, the older gentleman prevented her from proceeding and was told only paying customers could use it. My experience was horrible. We went on a birthday trip for my mother and we were waiting to go here for days. My mother is a type 1 diabetic so she needed to ask questions about sugar amounts and carbs in some products. The lady serving us told my mother she was "pushing the envelope" and even went as far as to say my mother was annoying her. She was so disrespectful and when I was trying to inform her of the conditions a diabetic has to follow, she rudely interrupted me. She acted so careless and disrespectful, I will never go back. The woman behind the counter said it's broken. If you are a restaurant that serves food, then you must have a working restroom for patrons. Last weekend we stumbled upon this coffee shop while walking around St Augustine. From the outside, like most places in St Augustine, it looks like a house. Walking inside, warning this is about to get cheesy, it felt like a home! There were warm colors on all the walls, paintings everywhere, comfy seats and even chess. There were lots of coffee options and a couple of food items that I saw. I got an iced latte and this time did not get a flavor but they had tons of options. The food and smoothie were great. Unfortunately, my mom who's also going through cancer was told she was not allowed to bring her service dog in. I kindly asked if service dogs were not permitted and they said no. Up until this establishment, we had zero issues with having her service dog with us. It is against ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) laws to deny access to a business or establishment to a person with a service dog. The ADA requires that businesses open to the public allow individuals with disabilities to bring their service animals into all areas where customers are normally allowed. read more

First things first: no laptop policy... I LOVE THIS-- it's an old world feel in the coffee shop, and let's be honest, you can leave your laptop at home and work there. This place is MEANT to be enjoyed-- from the music to the antique furniture, the historical monument of a Victorian house, and the lovely wraparound porch complete with porch swing, they've made this a magical place. Sit and play chess on a classic wooden chess set! I can only speak to the coffee so far, which is organic and delicious, but a bit high priced. The brewed cup is over $4 when it should be $3 in this town, so it is a premium price for this premium atmosphere, and for that, I do dock a star. Price is so important these days! Some people are docking tips to make up for the new higher prices, whole blogs and podcasts being about it these days and even the thought of removing tipping altogether. Price is important. Nice place to have coffee and a pastry however be warned no laptops are allowed so if you have to jump on a work call you need to do it on the phone. There is also no wifi available so again if you need to do anything online it has to be from your phone. This place is AWESOME. Husband and wife run coffee shop and bakery, they converted a bed-and-breakfast to this adorable coffeehouse and it's just so positive. And all of the food and coffee was delicious. We got Cranberry orange muffin, almond croissant with jelly, and spumoni cake - it was all sooo good! Made fresh. The owner (she was so nice!!) look the time to explain all of the food in the bakery case, and gave us extra jelly for our croissant. They were just soo nice and the food was delicious, and it was soo nice to sit on the porch and enjoy :) really lovely. Absolutely stop by!!! read more

We walked in this quaint coffee shop and got the warmest greeting ever. The couple who run and own this adorable coffee shop are so personable and accommodating. It has a cozy reminiscent feeling of days gone by. Sweetly decorated with antiques scattered around along with their own awesome paintings. We ordered 2 coffees a slice of quiche and an almond pastry .My coffee was new for me ; cafe con leche and I cannot describe the taste other than it's the best cup of coffee I ever had! And the homemade goodies were excellent as well. They chatted with us for a few giving their recommendations for things to do while visiting ( not realizing in the moment they were getting ready to call it a day.) You have to see it to believe it. Is the most unique-charming- chic coffee house from here to the moon. It is the place to be in town. The art throughout the coffee house is created by the owner. You will be walking in awe, while coming out to your table, inside or outside. The chai latte was just a perfect level of flavor, the croissant was so fresh mmmhh, they have all the coffee flavors you can ask for. He approached my partner and rudely said "Turn that off!" Taken aback, my partner asked him to repeat what he said.
