We really enjoy stopping by Coffee Code when we're in the area. The coffee shop has a nice vibe, it's super clean, chill, and just looks really nice. One of the main reasons we love this place is that they have coffee ice cubes for their iced lattes (all except the horchata and pb latte). Coffee Ice Cubes!! How genius is that! No more watered down drinks. Their pastries are also good, particularly the savory ones. The corn one is surprisingly good and we enjoyed the jalapeno ham and cheese. I don't venture into Norwalk (first time here actually) but my coworker was raving about the strawberry latte and it immediately got my attention. I love everything berries so it is very rare to come across strawberry drinks especially lattes. The place is small but spacious with plenty of tables and they had a display with baked goods. All I got was the strawberry latte and that seems to be the popular item of the day since I saw at least 3 other customers order it. The first sip was everything I wanted a strawberry latte to be. Perfect level of sweetness and the kicker is the ice cubes were coffee ice cubes! The drink lasted forever and didn't taste watered down. What an innovative way to keep the taste consistent until the very last sip. Norwalk is out of the way for me but I will make the drive to come back for more. Parking is terrible, it's literally at the beginning of a ghetto neighborhood in Norwalk. There's 3 parking spots which our truck barely fit in. Coffee was OK. I got the horchata latte which was good but wasn't anything I can't get anywhere else. My husband got the Spanish latte. He liked it, I thought it tasted odd. His came with coffee ice cubes and my coffee came with regular ice. The coffees were $6 each and not even filled to the top. We were not greeted when we came in. The girl who took our order literally had no personality. I don't get how businesses can hire people that literally cannot even smile or sound friendly - unless she is the owner - then I guess that's the vibe you want to put out there. My sisters love their Iced Matcha Latte so I decided to give it a try and I loved it as well! It's smooth, sweet (sort of too sweet but it's still good), and super matcha-y. I also tried their Iced Peanut Butter Cream Top Latte but I'm not so sure about it. It kind of reminded me of spring rolls peanut sauce, so it was a little weird to drink it. I love this cafe. I live in the area and this cafe has been absolutely my favorite. I always come here to do work. Although the place is a bit small, I always seem to find seating around morning or afternoon time. On Saturdays, it will be a bit harder to find seating unless you go earlier in the morning. I went to Coffee Code today to give it a try after a recommendation by a friend ! The ambiance was chill and enjoyable, I love the decor and design of the building. Very cute! I got a dirty chai latte, a vanilla latte, and a waffle for $17. Baristas were super nice and explained all the drinks well, you can tell they love their job! The reason for my 3 stars is from the coffee itself, the roast has notes of blackberry, chocolate and brandy. Personally, I didn't enjoy the flavor of it, especially in the vanilla latte. It was fruity but also smokey, some sips tasting exactly like a blackberry. I think the strawberry latte would be good because of this, but I did not enjoy it in the chai or the vanilla latte. I was disappointed in this but I'm hoping the next time they switch out their roast I'd enjoy it more. *I do want to add that the shot itself was perfect, it had a nice foam and was very milky and smooth. As a coffee enthusiast, I was really excited to try the peanut butter latte it sounded like the perfect mix of rich, nutty flavors and smooth espresso. But after just a couple of sips, my stomach started feeling off, which was surprising since I'm not lactose intolerant. At first, I wasn't sure if it was the coffee, but after another sip or two, it was clear something wasn't sitting right. On top of that, the flavor didn't quite hit the mark it lacked the peanut butter taste I was expecting and the texture was more like a smoothie than the iced latte I ordered. This coffee shop is known for their speciality ice for the ice drink and latte art which I do look for in a coffee shop. Everytime I come into this Coffee Code, I always see William Chun (the boss and 3rd place latte art champ). Very cool guy to talk with. He always make sure the drinks are made with perfection. If you haven't met Will, right now is the great time to meet him. My usual drinks are ice white chocolate latte and ice mocha latte. In every ice drinks, they use speciality ice so the drink don't get watered down. I mean who would want to drink a watered down ice latte with regular ice.
