Here's the story from yesterday: My boyfriend (black) and I went to order some bubble tea. He went to the bathroom but discovered that he needed a key to get in. The employee just walked past him without asking him if he needed the key (when obviously he needed it that's why he was there). Soon after, my boyfriend realized that he left his phone in the car so he went to grab it. While he was gone, the male employee handed me TWO drinks. There, you would assume it was for TWO customers. When my boyfriend came back, he sat across me which the male employee saw. However, when my boyfriend went to ask for the key to the bathroom, the male employee just pointed at the key and said "it's over there" WHEN THE KEY WAS BEHIND THE COUNTER WHERE THE EMPLOYEE SHOULD HAND IT TO THE CUSTOMER. Here's where the juicy part is. The owner (not sure if it was the owner, but I believe the person in charge) told her employees (a male and a female) in Mandarin, "Don't let people who are not customers use the bathroom because they're gonna messed up the bathroom or steal the key. If they asked, just refuse them and tell them to go to starbucks next door." She said all this in a way that she thought my boyfriend would do the same. If she didn't assume that my boyfriend was gonna do anything to the bathroom, she wouldn't have brought it up to her employees. When my boyfriend came back from the bathroom, I told him what they said and he went up to confront them, but of course they said they didn't. So I stepped up and confronted them in Mandarin as they were shocked that I understood it since I ordered in English and have a black boyfriend. I asked them, "Why can't he use the bathroom? He's a customer." The owner: "Oh I didn't know he was because I was in the back." I pointed at the male employee: "Then you should've told her that you saw that he was a customer instead of just standing there and letting her talk sh*t." Male employee: "I didn't know." BRUH he did not just say "I didn't know" when he clearly saw my boyfriend sat down across from me. The owner: "I was just telling my employees that if there is a person who's not a customer, don't let them use the bathroom because there have been homeless people coming in. I wasn't talking about your boyfriend." Me: "So you're assuming he's homeless and will mess up the bathroom? It doesn't matter what you said because he is a customer and is allowed to use the bathroom according to your rules." Literally if she didn't think my boyfriend looked homeless, why would she bring it up? like she was worried the store was gonna get messed up. Plus, he looked/dressed no where like he was homeless. Female employee: "I told her (the owner) that he was a customer." BULLSH*T. I was listening to the whole conversation and did not hear her say sh*t. I bet if it was an Asian or white customer that came in, they would've just let him/her use the bathroom without saying all this sh*t, and the owner wouldn't have even said anything to her employees in a hatred way. AND the male employee would've HANDED THE KEY to the CUSTOMER LIKE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO. After all this, they did not even apologize. Literally based on her logic, no one is allowed to use the bathroom because how would they know exactly who is a customer when it's busy? My My My! If you know me, you know I LIVE for bubble tea. I'm writing this review quite late, I've been here multiple times since their opening and since my first time but I thought they deserve a review regardless. The location is weird: its connected to a hotel, next to a Subway, right before you get on the freeway and if you make the wrong turn, well it's probably game over at that point. The first time I came here they ran out of straws and I thought that was freaken absurd because what kind of boba shop runs out of straws. The server was really confused and didn't understand what we needed so that was a bummer but the bubble tea was great after figuring out the whole straw situation. However, if you're like me, a person who is not a fan of drinks that are too sweet, I would suggest you to adjust the sweetness of the drink since their drinks are on the sweeter side. They have 4 sweetness level: 0%, 30%, 50%, 100%, so go for 30% (or 0%) if you want your drink to be not too sweet. Also, go for less ice, it tastes better. My goodness. I wish I discovered this place sooner. This boba is legit. You can adjust the sweetness and ice levels to get more flavor and toppings for your buck. They use REAL tea as their base. Not powders or syrups. They use quality boba. It's not too sweet, great texture and they keep it fresh. It's unsuspecting because it's along the street next to Subway and Starbucks. You can use the hotel parking garage, but there's usually free 1 hour parking along the street as well. If you're not used to the logo, you'd walk right past it. There is a public parking garage right around the corner as well next to the Marriott. The only thing is to make sure your order is correct BEFORE you leave. My boyfriend and I ordered four taro sago milk tea and once we got back home, there were no sago in any of them. We were so disappointed. We called them saying they forgot to add in the sago and all they could do was redo our drinks if we came back, but we were already back in Seattle so we just kept it. CoCo has taken the crown from ShareTea as the best boba in WA. Their milk tea is just simply better. They even have sago as a topping and it's so delicious that I get it every time. My go-to drinks here are either the Milk Tea with Pudding and Sago or the Mango Smoothie. The mango smoothie is one of the best I've had and it feels like you are sticking a straw straight into a mango. They have even have the texture just right so you can feel the fibers of the mango and it's not thick at all like how smoothies usually are. The only downside of this place is that it is hard to get to if you want to drive here as it is basically on the side of a busy street with very limited street parking and not that much foot traffic. Luckily if you turn right around the corner, the Marriott has a small section in their garage for retail parking which is what I use each time. read more

I don't think there is anything overly good or bad about this place. The shop is a bit small and hard to get to so that's a bit of a downside. The mall is far away etc. we missed the back parking. But the boba is very refreshing and not icy. We got the mango passion fruit w boba and the taro slush w boba. The passion fruit mango only tasted really of mango thought it didn't taste super artificial. The taro kind of tasted like light vanilla milk and didn't have a distinct taro root flavor. The pearls were pretty chewy and didn't have much flavor. We might stop in again if it's on our way somewhere. read more

Make sure to get the large, since you're going to finish it so quickly. There are many other drink options if you don't like Jasmine milk tea. They also have a good amount of toppings if you're into boba balls, pudding, etc. They will ask you what percentage of sweetness and amount of ice you want. The line can wrap around, so don't be surprised. It took a little longer than other boba spots to get my drink, but I think it's because they only have two people working at a time. I'm a big fan of their drinks but their customer service is just awful. They forgot our orders, and once we brought it up with their cashier, they didn't even bother to make our drinks before everyone else's! So we waited another 20 minutes for them to make it, and it takes a whole hour from the time we ordered to the time we got our drinks. They didn't even try to provide any sort of compensation, and the shop wasn't even that busy compared to their peak hours. I've worked part-time in a boba shop that has higher customer volume than this CoCo, and it's easy to tell that the management lacks experience or just doesn't care about their customer relationships because of the lack of procedure to rectify these mistakes. Mistakes are bound to happen, but your staff needs to be prepared to handle them properly to not piss off the customers. This is definitely NOT how you should treat your customers. read more

The old lady which I assume is the owner has issues. Asked for hot drinks and she put the cold drink plastic on top and gave us straws...who drinks burning hot bubble tea with a plastic straw? Plus, we were afraid the plastic film would melt. We saw the lid for the hot coffee drinks and asked her for one. She gave us a bad attitude saying something along the lines of, "what's the difference? It's going to melt anyway". Implying if the plastic film would melt, the hot coffee lid would also melt, so why switch it?
