The vegan breakfast sandwich was also really yummy...i got the jalapeno jelly on the side in case it was too spicy, which it was, for me. I traded for the apple butter and dipped biscuit pieces and sandwich in it...so good!! My only complaint is that they don't have vegan sausage gravy currently, which they said is because they're working on a new recipe...i could give them one, it's not that hard;), but i hope they have it back in the menu soon!! read more

Wow this place is awesome. Cozy inside, friendly baristas. I had the lavender latte, pumpkin donut, and sea salt chocolate chip cookie. The latte was INCREDIBLE, and I get lavender lattes all the time and this was one of the best I've ever had. The pumpkin donut was so yummy - pillowy and sugary with lots of real pumpkin in it. The chocolate chip cookie tasted homemade, delicious. I'm glad I ended up here - I originally went into Tinker coffee but they were rude to me and my service dog, so I left and tried Coat Check and wow they turned my day around!!! We have stopped here now a few times, usually when driving some long distances and we happen to be driving through Indianapolis. But we usually always make a point of stopping here for that great cafe vibes. The food and drink have always been delicious (though this last time, the golden latte was probably a tad too sweet). We got a panini/sandwich this last time as well which was delicious. Their regular lattes/flat whites are always on point. The place itself is also very interesting. It's located in a historic church and there is a ton of cool stuff to look at and German history and its relationship with the city. The service is always quick and professional. This is probably my favorite place to get coffee. It can get crowded at times, so seating can be a challenge. Sometimes we have to sit on the couches, instead of at a table. This coffee shop is a cute little hole in the wall. I would never have expected a coffee shop to be apart of ymca. The space is very unique and allows you to study, get work done, a place for interviews or to catch up with your bestie! I absolutely love their Iced Butterscotch Latte. It has a hint of orange with just a unique flavor profile. I was skeptical at first with the orange flavor but it's not overpowering at all it added a sweet touch that balances the flavors well. I just visited for the first time recently. There was a great vibe inside with lots of people hanging out, studying, working, reading, etc. I was pleased to see how much space there is to sit inside. The pastries looked delicious, but I only ordered a chai tea latte. I can't remember the last time I had tea in a real cup, so that was super fun! I was disappointed because the tea was cold when I got it. I'm not sure what happened, but it was not pleasant to drink. I didn't notify anyone, but I'm sure they would have fixed it. We stopped by here for breakfast after walking over from AirBnB. The entrance was quite inviting with a staircase leading up to the cafe. The color palette was this old rustic sort of feeling. The actual cafe was very similar to a coat check area; it was an interesting concept to say the least. It was quite packed when we arrived so we had to wait in line for a few minutes before ordering. I wish there was a QR code or something to access the menu or view before we got to the front of the line. There were a few paper handouts at the front of the line so we were able to quickly glance to figure out what we wanted. We went for a croissant, Pistachio Latte, and a Butterscotch Latte. We had a little difficulty trying to find seating and didn't feel comfortable walking up with lattes up the staircase so we found some seating to the side (benches) where we could sit. We had a chance to read up on the history of breweries in Indianapolis especially around the Prohibition Era that was quite interesting. The croissant and lattes were delicious. After finishing, we took some time to walk up the stairs where we found more seating, a bar area, and art pieces. We walked around there and observed all the different items. I was on vacation in this area and decided to stop by here. It's downtown but plenty of street parking. The building is beautiful outside and it's right on the corner. When you walk in you go up a set of stairs and the place is gorgeous. It's a little dark but nice to work in. As soon as you order you take a seat. There's a lot of seating and very quiet coffee shop. I would say it's not really kid friendly. I ordered a season coffee with orange. It was pretty good and presentation was amazing. Coat check coffee serves some great espresso! I love their pistachio latte with oat milk, although I prefer it a little less sweet than the default. They are quite pricey, I paid $8 for my latte, so it's definitely an occasional treat rather than an everyday go-to. But overall I think the quality reflects the price. Coat Check Coffee is located in the historic Athenaeum on Mass Ave which is a very upscale neighbourhood. This place was pretty crowded and getting seats was quite difficult. Some seating arrangements are kinda weird considering it's right next to Restrooms. I ordered a Pistachio Latte with almond milk which I have to say was very good and unique in its taste. I also ordered a Vegan breakfast sandwich without the impossible sausage as I don't really like impossible meat. My sandwich had Vegan cheese and Just eggs. It also had jalapeño jam which I am not really fond of. What I found a bit odd was that this place offers sandwiches but they don't have any condiments. When asked for ketchup or hot sauce, the barista was kinda rude as if it was a sin to ask for it. We also had a Pumpkin Chai muffin which complemented the Latte. Overall, the location is great, and you should check out local stores on Mass Ave when visiting. I may not visit this place again but will recommend Lattes, can surely skip food! read more

Top tier coffee! Very instagramable and delicious! Baristas are always so friendly and knowledgeable. My coffee always comes out absolutely perfect. I love that it is in such a historic building. I'm gluten free and they do not have any food options for people with those restrictions. However, I have heard that their croissants are amazing! The Ginger Latte is my favorite latte I have ever had anywhere. I have also tried the Pistachio Latte. Which is also great and has a nice, nutty flavor. The only downside about this place is that they request you to keep your time spent seated at 90 minutes. I love how COVID safe they are, as you are required to wear masks when you are ordering. The baristas are also wearing masks. I didn't get to take pictures but it seems cozy if you wanna read, study, work, or just chill. I was intrigued by the butterscotch and pistachio lattes so we got those two drinks. I was really excited to try them when our order came out. Sadly, the syrup or the milk or the combo of ingredients was off. There was something off-putting about the flavors of both lattes.
