Worked up an appetite shopping this afternoon and decided to have lunch here. It wasn't too busy and if my cousin wasn't with me I would've loved to just sit at the bar... For a holiday, the mall wasn't too busy so that was a plus! We were welcomed and seated right away. The music playing wasn't too loud. Perfect vibes for an afternoon lunch with my cousin/niece. Today I went with the salt and pepper shrimp roll and my niece ordered the bacon cheeseburger with extra pickles. She enjoyed her burger and my shrimp was seasoned perfectly. The rolls were a bit undercooked this afternoon, and my Mango Martini was just like I remembered...yummy! Our server was welcoming and attentive. He suggested I try the Mango Mojito. Just may have to take him up on that next time. Until next time...Happy Yelping!
Coastal Flats is a solid spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The atmosphere is bright and modern, with a relaxed coastal vibe that makes it easy to hang out for a while. The menu has a good variety of seafood and coastal-inspired dishes. I ordered the Pecan Crusted Trout that had candied pecans sprinkled on top of the trout. The trout was fresh and well-prepared.
Enjoyed lunch with co-workers on Halloween. This is a family-friendly, casual dining restaurant inside Tyson's Corner Mall. If you enter the parking deck near the Hyatt Hotel with Coastal Flats listed at the entrance, you will have a very short walk! Alternatively, it's downstairs from the movie theatre and food court. We ordered calamari, buffalo chicken dip, and blue crab & shrimp fritters. For mains, we had ribeye steaks and chicken salad. Everything was good, except the calamari was very oily. The restaurant was quiet, clean, and welcoming. Our server was kind, and overall we had a pleasant experience.
I went to Coastal Flats for a solo lunch. I kind of had an idea of what I already wanted to order. I was greeted by one person and gave my order to them but then someone else came over and asked if I wanted anything else. The second waiter started talking about the specials but they were so soft spoken it was hard to hear. If you try any of the great American restaurants and they have Ozzie rolls, get them ! They are delicious. I ordered the fish fingers which came with fries and coleslaw. I am not a fan of coleslaw. I should have asked if they could sub that out for something else. My waitress came by once after I got my food to see how it was. I ended up not finishing my meal because I was full from the delicious Ozzie rolls. However my waitress walked past several times and did not interact with me or ask if I needed anything else. I waited 20 minutes before I had to stop her and ask for my check and a box. Not sure if it's worth coming back based on lack of service.
When we come to Tyson's Corner Center to dine, we go to Seasons 52 which is directly across from Coastal Flats, but decided today to check out Coastal Flats for the first time. We arrived at Coastal Flats for lunch at noon on a weekday. We were greeted by friendly people at the host's stand, and were seated fairly quickly. The vibe and decorating is rather similar to Cheesecake Factory. Service from the food runners was very good. Our server did a reasonably adequate job, but there was one thing curious about him. He dropped off the check on our table without a word, picked up our credit cards without a word and dropped our cards and receipts on the table without a word. No thank you or anything. The best deal on the menu has to be the Community bread assortment that goes for a mere $1. That $1 is donated by the restaurant to helping people obtain housing. The assortment was a nice variety and of a generous quantity. The seasoned soft butter that came with the bread was good. We both ordered the Pecan Crusted Trout. The trout was fresh and good. The portion size was large. I was a little surprised that the pecans were not crumbles of pecan pressed into then trout, but instead, whole candied pecans sprinkled atop the trout. The broccolini that came with the trout was good though some of the thicker pieces were undercooked. I think we'll come back, but we prefer Seasons 52 across the corridor.
I was honestly expecting a little more from this place! The Jambalaya Pasta I had was satisfactory, but I was hoping for a stronger spice from it, especially since this place was a bit expensive for my taste (i will say i am not used to DMV prices at all). Service, however, was fantastic, with waiters going above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with my meal and topping off my water. Seldom have I seen waiters be so attentive and courteous. This establishment is quite large, and the lighting is dim, yet perfectly bright enough! This place is versatile (and large), so you could have a large get-together here, as well as a nice quiet date! Great all-occasion establishment.
I've walked past this restaurant for many years. I finally decided to give a try. It's the middle of the afternoon around. I stopped in for lunch and had a Greek salad with salmon very very hungry even though I am not full. It was a wonderful tasty salad not too much dressing. Salmon had wonderful. Tasty glaze. Salmon was prepared perfectly a bit on the expensive side, one of the things I like about this restaurant in this hotel, it is very bright inside. Great to do work. There are a number of people with the laptops open discussing business. I had to make a number of work related calls. Highly recommended because of this new restrooms inside this restaurant they're actually a short walk in the hotel lobby, but they're extremely clean. Parking is in the Mall parking lot which is covered. It's a bit of ways from Parking, but I will be returning. My server was actually the bartender. The bar was located far away from our seating, but he was quite attentive. No other servers were in the restaurant when I arrived.

Coastal Flats = rolls so warm and buttery you almost cry. Service was quiet but efficient--like a ninja who takes your order without judgment. Everyone in our party had very specific food quirks, and they handled it like pros. After a long travel day, I inhaled my warm goat cheese salad like it owed me money. Clean, cozy, and perfect for fast-but-fancy refueling.
First time going there, I believe the menu should be more though there was enough on it. It didn't have enough variety. The food was fresh and hot and the service was well. It was very dark inside the area, which made it hard to see.
Walked in on Father's Day and went to the bar! Service was fantastic and so was the food. If you love SWEET TEA, GET IT! It's so damn good and baby their mango margarita! Oh my lawd! Take a sip of boffum! For me :)

Our 4th time visit-- Disappointed--Food was just OK--service was bad--Reservation was delayed 15 minutes due to a confused hostess--Very busy--waitress was unfriendly--poker face--neglected bread after 2 tables after us received bread--then said bread was cooking--a floor manager brought bread just as she said this--Steak was poor grade quality and too much salt--beef ribs were over cooked, stringy and too much sugar--Recommend buy prime meat and smoked beef ribs need no sugary sauce. Also, unsweet iced tea was cloudy and strange taste soured.
I honestly did not expect outstanding service like this. We had reservations for 5:30 PM and it took longer than usual to get seated for a party of 5 but then again it was Mother's Day... When we walked past other servers and employees we were greeted with soft hospitality, "Welcome! Enjoy your meal.. thank you for coming." I mean I was impressed with this top scale service. The seats and table was glistening they sure do keep the place as clean as possible. I had the crispy fish tacos and they were indeed crispy/ crunchy, paired well with the habanero slaw. No complaints, overall it was a delightful experience.

We had a reservation but still had to wait a good amount of time. The grilled chicken breast was pretty good but the fish fingers were very greasy. Overall it was okay probably won't be back. read more

Coastal Flats Tysons Corner this restaurant has consistently high-quality food and great service. My recent favorite appetizer is a special and it is two fried green tomatoes slices with guacamole and a savory shrimp salad on top That's what's in the photo.. Another wonderful thing on the menu is the warm white chocolate and bourbon caramel bread pudding with ice cream. Also pictured. Frankly any Great American restaurant is really outstanding. The food here was excellent. Much better than I expected. For an appetizer, we had the deviled eggs, crab dip (limited time offering) and the bread basket. I had the Pecan Crusted Trout, my husband had the beef ribs and our friend had the smoked salmon dish. Every Single Thing was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Plus the service was great and the restaurant itself had a very inviting feel to it. I definitely plan on going there again in the near future! read more

Jenn was a very diligent & experienced bartender. She remembered our names and treated us so well. The drinks were absolutely delicious and strong. The food was amazing.. it was my first time having the Ozzie rolls and they are less sweet than a doughnut, but so easy to eat many of them. I will definitely be back. The restaurant is inside of the mall so it's very convenient to go after a day of shopping or to get some sustenance before a day of shopping! read more
The service was very good. We were served promptly and the food came out hot. At the table: blue crab and shrimp fritters -- just okay; lobster bisque soup -- yummy; Fried fish fingers were okay-- the coleslaw had way too much thick mayonnaise-- sweet potato fries -- good, and fried shrimp roll -- was okay but the sauce was off putting like too much vinegar or something. I asked for the lobster sauce that came with the crab appetizer. The sauce gave the shrimp some flavor. Overall, just okay. Good service though. read more

Stopped in with a friend on a Friday evening. We both ordered salads and the rolls. I love the warm goat cheese salad, there is an option to add protein as well. The rolls are always delicious. I was impressed with the service as well. Overall, I would come back to try out more. read more

This place is in tysons mall and always a favorite to come to eat when I am there. The service is great and the decorations inside is also pretty cool. The food is pretty good - the lobster salad is one of my favorites and drunken ribeye is great too. It would be great if they have little more varity on the fresh fish of the day though- it seems every time I am there it's Mahi mahi. read more

I've been going to the Great American restaurants (which Coastal Flats is a part of) for quite awhile as I live in the DMV area and it's always been a safe bet for good food and a good experience. The most recent time at Coastal Flats inside of Tysons Corner mall left a bad taste in my mouth. First off, the community bread basket is no longer free and costs $1. Also the prices of the menu items have increased -- a lot. I ordered the ahi tuna salad that costs $27 and it came with 4 small pieces of the ahi tuna. It was not worth the price. I also ordered the crab and shrimp fritters which were the only highlight of the meal. The service was friendly but rushed. My friend was still finishing up his last pieces of sweet potato fries and a waiter came by and assumed he was done and just took his plate away. And the same waiter came back and put our check on the table when I was still not halfway done with my salad. We felt rushed to finish up and pay. Mind you, this was at 5pm and the restaurant was not busy. This will be my last time dining at this location. read more

My cousin and her family took my husband and me here to celebrate the closing of our house. We had not been here before and the food was AMAZING! The service was top notch! Our server checked on us constantly and made sure we had everything we needed. Because our party was so large, we sat at two tables across from each other. But we never felt neglected/forgotten. There were 3 small children in our party and despite their excitement, no one seemed to be annoyed or upset about our presence there. Everyone, including other guests, seemed so laid back and unbothered. Tyson's is definitely a different kind of mall/shopping experience with unique types of dining experiences inside! read more

The food delivery was pretty good. The burgers only have exactly what is in the description. If you want ketchup, mustard, Lettuce, etc., you will have to ask for it. They have nice pours on their wine glasses. read more

Doors opened on time, servers were bright eyed and bushy tailed!! I come here every time I'm in the area since it's an hour away from me. We stopped here for lunch prior to our spa day and as usual it didn't disappoint. Love the atmosphere and the food. The angel eggs are amazing read more

I've actually never been to Coastal Flats until now but I do love all the Great American Restaurant. They never disappoint...and it still stands after this lunch. Their deviled eggs were made perfectly with great flavor...accompanied by the candied bacon. The crab cake was even better than the ones at Mikes with almost 95% lump Crab meat. The service was great per usual for these restaurants. I left throughly satisfied. read more
Sadrina....one of the best bartenders ever! Really attentive, easygoing, and thoughtful. I'm glad I don't live closer because this would be my "Cheers." I had a seasonal shortcake. It was recommended by the bartender and it was really good. I ordered the shrimp sandwich. It reminds me of a poboy but that's not what it's called. I think they call it a shrimp roll. I knew that this establishment was apart of the same ownership as Mikes in Springfield VA and Sweetwater Tavern. read more

Quickly greeted and seated with smile. Late lunch and may have caught them during shift change but there was no break in service. The server was prompt and attentive. Food was prepared well and as ordered. Great spot. read more

The Ozzie rolls.....so much for unbigging my back before summer. I came here twice in the last month. On 4/16 after the Dr. Seuss experience and today 4/30 after Candytopia. Both times the service and food was great. I saw signs at Tysons that they're bringing a CAMP here so I know I'll be back and it's good to know there's a solid food option for me and the babes. Went around 1130-12 both times, once was seated in a booth as we walked in, today there was a 30min wait so we sat in the bar area. Service at the bar was not the greatest but I do realize they're more so catering to bar patrons rather than me and my brood. Not that they shouldn't be the same all around but it's something I kind of understood. I think my server Mike did his best (and I still tipped because I'm no monster and it's a hard gig) but my service was def 10/10 when I sat at a booth. First time: I ordered the crab fritters which were just ok, the sauce they came with was under seasoned (to me) but the consistency of the fritters were nice. Ozzie rolls - just get them, don't think about it just do it. Fish sticks for the kids - the best crunch you could imagine on a kids fish stick. It was perfection, my daughter (5) went on and on about the crunch and they held up well in the air fryer the next day. Served with what I'm assuming is a homemade tarter that had great texture and flavor. They were served with shoestring fries but you have the option of apple sauce. Today the kids got the fish sticks again and I went with a bacon cheeseburger and fries. My burger was seasoned well and cooked exactly how I ordered (medium). The sauce paired well with the saltiness of the bacon and cheese without drowning out the flavor. Lots of items here to choose from and priced very well so I'll def be back. read more

We had lunch after movie. Our fish fry was with too much flour on it and very few meat. The starter Spinach and Artichoke Dip was not excellent as we expected. They used normal chips with no gain flavor at all, and very Hard to chew! A bit disappointing today. read more
I think the Ozzie rolls are always the best part of the meal here. I ordered the hamburger, which was good, but I think the patty could use more seasoning or more sauce. I appreciate that they were willing to add requested lettuce. My boyfriend ordered the fish fingers. I thought they were okay and that the fish could be fresher, but my boyfriend said he liked them. read more

Love this place! It's such a consistent good spot to go. Highly recommend the shrimp roll or fish tacos. Our waiters are always so kind and speedy here. The restaurant is well decorated and kept very clean. read more

Really contemplated between three or four. Wasn't bad at all. Food has good flavor but everything was lacking just a bit. The grit cake had almost no sauce which was delicious. The fries cost extra and for the price it barely came with any at all. Overall pretty satisfactory. For Christmas it was beautifully decorated and the service was wonderful. I would suggest if you come here to get the ranch as they make it in house and it was delicious. read more
