It was my first time visiting this place and we were welcomed by a friendly staff. The place was clean when we arrived. We ordered the snow onion, garlic soy, the original, and the shrimp tempura. I personally liked everything except for the snow onion. I know this dish is supposed to be primarily with a lot of onions, but it was way too much onion on my dish for me. I love fried chicken and this place definitely was worth the trip. Our tenders were very crispy and super flavorful yet juicy inside. For the price, they gave decent portion sizes as well. The amount of tenders I got lasted me two meals and after putting tenders in the air frier they still tasted great. The service was a little slow, but the staff were nice. The ambiance is your basic food joint decorated with photos of the chicken and some signs about their story. Inside were a decent amount of tables, but I feel like this restaurant is better suited for smaller versus larger parties. The curry chicken had a great flavor. The curry was my favorite. We never had fried chicken with the savory, saucy onions, so decided to get that on the curry drums. I think if ordering the snow onions, I would suggest getting it with the drums, so you have enough meat to enjoy the onions with. Next time, I would leave the onions out. Truth be told, my enjoyment of the food I tried was closer to 3 stars. BUT, I'm going to blame user error on my part and being too compromising for my experience. A group of us went and sharing/sampling each other's dishes was the plan. To accommodate other's preferences, I didn't really get what I wanted. I ended up getting the Soy Tikkudak. By design, it's fried and then baked which made the chicken drier than I prefer. Seemingly everyone loves the Snow Onion, but it was too much onion for me. A dish that pleasantly surprised me was the cheese monster. Cheese and chicken aren't really the most intuitive combo, but it worked well... to the point where I used the sauce on my Tikkudak. I'm definitely willing to give this place another shot. I think if I order a saucier, spicier, less onion forward array of chicken, I'll be all good. I've been longing for a replacement for my beloved Bonchon since they are no longer in Columbus. I had high hopes for CM Chicken, but they fell short of the sweet and savory glory that belongs to Bonchon. The service is excellent and this place is really clean. However, the chicken does not satisfy my soy garlic needs. I ordered the soy garlic wings and they don't appear to be double-fried like Bonchon, and that is fine. But the cashier told me when he explained the entire menu that the soy garlic wings contained "no spicy" but in the words of Maury "the lie detected that, that was a lie." These wings had more kick than a UFC fight. I couldn't finish all of them due to the spice. My wife, who is a spicy lover (no pun intended) even thought they were too hot to trot! They also had a chewy texture that I didn't really like. My wife enjoyed her gizzards though. So if I do go back it will be to pick her up some gizzards. Wings 1-5=1. The portions are quite large and enough for two people to share. Our orders were the half whole (a little confusing but it turned out to be 5 white and 5 dark meat pieces). Our waitress was new to the place but helped us as much as she could. We also got the fries (excellent) and the cole slaw which I didn't care for, but my wife liked. It's quite sweet. They also offered a complimentary pickled jicama. It was alright. The chicken is super crispy and had a delicious ginger, soy, garlic flavor. Crispy on the outside, super moist on the inside. I got the garlic soy flavor and I was not expecting it to be spicy but my lips were slightly tingling at the end so if you are not a fan of spice make sure to ask the waiter what is the best for you. I guess it could be the charcoal grill, but still not the classic garlic soy that I remember it being. The classic Original fried chicken was tender and crispy (not bad), but too bready. The breading for the crispiness was overly thick which reminded me of corn flakes. Interesting cause the garlic soy had a thin layer of breading which made it soggy. Not consistent? I don't know. They forgot my pickled radish at first, but thankfully the server brought it before I asked. I like how their pickled radish (slightly on the sweeter end) cleans the oil from the chicken. CM is an cool and interesting addition to Columbus's food scene. I'm unfamiliar with Korean style chicken, but heard great reviews of CM. Their base chicken is crispy and flavorful, and you have the option to choose from various sauces - including mild curry, soy garlic and a spicy option. You can also select between drums, tenders, wings and whole chicken. I went for the curry tenders ($14) which came with an enormous amount of chicken. Two could spilt it easily. The chicken was flavorful without being overpowering. I added some onion rings and coleslaw and both were also delicious! Anywho, I had to drive over here and walk up to the counter to place an order. Oof tons of people were already waiting for a table. The place had only been open for 30 minutes! Every table was filled! I ordered carry out for 10 wings of the regular fried and 10 wings of the popular hot pepper tikkudak. They said it would take 25 minutes but I waited close to 35-40 minutes. I only ate 3 wings of each flavor. I was sharing the rest of it with my fam. The wings were TINY. $14 for each box?!?! And it doesn't come with sides. Too expensive! The wings were delicious though. Perfect crunch, good presentation, flavorful as well. The hot pepper one was actually spicy. They must make their own gochujang, since its got a really nice flavor. I tend to lean towards the second hottest thing on any menu. It wasn't until the second wing where I started to feel it. It's the kind of thing that gets spicy over time rather than hitting you with it right away. Overall, it was delicious but I'm sure if I had eaten all 10 wings I still would've been hungry. I ended up eating something else with it that I had at home. Im sure the experience getting to sit inside would be worth it though. Really great ambience. You can order soju. This is a really good choice for a small group. Table sprinkled throughout the restaurant and table service is offered. There are restrooms in the back and K-pop and Asian food channels on the TVs. Since differing levels of spices are offered, I challenged everyone to try the hottest level (which presumably was extra spicy according to some African friends). Not only was a spice excellent, but the crunch of the fried chicken was superior (not oily or greasy at all!). Wait times were a little long but it was understandable seeing that they only had 1 waitstaff. It was 100% worth the wait though. Korean fried chicken is known for its crispness and they delivered. That perfect crunch that I got as you bit into it was divine. Mad props to them for nailing the cook on the chicken too! It was incredibly juicy and so that it was just bite after bite of incredibly crsipy and juicy meat. First time here. Apparently the lunch special when I went in to order for takeout is only good for dine in. So, I ordered off the menu and the chicken meals were $13.99. Didn't know it only came with chicken. I ordered chicken drumsticks for myself ( garlic soy) and tenders for hubby ( red hot). There's 4 drumsticks in the meal that were double fried and very crispy and not greasy. Hubby had 4 or 5 tenders and the heat stayed well afterwards in your tastebuds, although he didn't think they were that "hot".
