The best korean fried chicken in central Ohio. Seems they have been trying to expand or for more tables inside. We have been here three times and the chicken just never misses. The chicken gizzards we tried were outstanding and not over cooked. Service was pretty bad last time, then the server got mad when we asked others for assistance. The chicken is good, service depends on the server and day I guess.
This has become our new favorite place. Love the fried chicken here. The quality is great and the service is quick. We love the original fried and the golden curry tikkuda.
I love fried chicken and this place definitely was worth the trip. Our tenders were very crispy and super flavorful yet juicy inside. For the price, they gave decent portion sizes as well. The amount of tenders I got lasted me two meals and after putting tenders in the air frier they still tasted great. The service was a little slow, but the staff were nice. The ambiance is your basic food joint decorated with photos of the chicken and some signs about their story. Inside were a decent amount of tables, but I feel like this restaurant is better suited for smaller versus larger parties. I'd definitely go here again, my only minor complaint is that the chicken was overly salty but this sometimes is expected with restaurant food.
First try of CK Chicken. Restaurant was pretty full for a Sunday night. Got a takeout order of original chicken wings, fried calamari, fried tofu, and spring rolls. I got the wings dry to get a feel of its taste without a lot of sloppy sauce. Next time I might try the spicy garlic and maybe garlic soy. The wings were good, tasty and not over fried. Crust was good tasting. Fried calamari were ok rings and the spring rolls were ok. Both tasted like out of a frozen bag. The fried tofu was disappointing. Not seasoned and tasted bland. Probably won't order again. Chicken was my favorite.
We ordered the "RED HOT PEPPER TIKKUDAK" and it was DELICIOUS!!! Definitely serves 2+, my bf and I finished it between us and we were both starving. Highly recommend getting spring onion on the side. Everything came with sauces and was generously sauced and seasoned. We kept saying how because we got the tenders they looked so much like Chili's chicken tenders! I would say the spice level was equal to carbonara Buldak (with the whole spice packet). Very crave-able.
I had been wanting to try this Korean fried chicken for a long time. So glad I finally made it with my husband. The service was great and not too busy on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch at 3pm. I asked our server for recommendations and he went through and asked our spice level preference and then suggested the sauces. His recommendations were perfect, we enjoyed our chicken a lot. We ordered only chicken. We ordered the spicy garlic in wings and the curry snow in drums. The spicy garlic is spicy, yet has a perfect sweetness to balance it out. The curry chicken had a great flavor. The curry was my favorite. We never had fried chicken with the savory, saucy onions, so decided to get that on the curry drums. I think if ordering the snow onions, I would suggest getting it with the drums, so you have enough meat to enjoy the onions with. Next time, I would leave the onions out. The chicken itself I found to be tender and cooked well. The batter is not too thick, yet very crunchy, which I found to be perfect. Looking forward to going again for their chicken. The only con was the seating. The bench-like seats that are attached to the wall are unformatable and at a weird height compared to the table.
Truth be told, my enjoyment of the food I tried was closer to 3 stars. BUT, I'm going to blame user error on my part and being too compromising for my experience. A group of us went and sharing/sampling each other's dishes was the plan. To accommodate other's preferences, I didn't really get what I wanted. I ended up getting the Soy Tikkudak. By design, it's fried and then baked which made the chicken drier than I prefer. Seemingly everyone loves the Snow Onion, but it was too much onion for me. A dish that pleasantly surprised me was the cheese monster. Cheese and chicken aren't really the most intuitive combo, but it worked well... to the point where I used the sauce on my Tikkudak. I'm definitely willing to give this place another shot. I think if I order a saucier, spicier, less onion forward array of chicken, I'll be all good. Plus, I discovered that they have a nice weekday lunch menu that's a great value.
I love this place, full stop. And I don't even like chicken. I love this place. I like the garlic soy, the curry, and the snows. They have a new menu with Korean corn dogs and bulgoki fried rice and all kinds of new fun things to try for my chicken loathing self. Come for the speedy fast service stay for the KPop and cooking shows. And if you get some fries or onion rings, ask for the new soy mayo to dip. It's delicious!
Four of us had dinner and everything was great. Service was polite and we received our orders quickly. We all got the right orders even though the server's English was not perfect. That's OK; we pointed and enunciated when she seemed unsure. The food was just what we expected and served hot. The restaurant was comfortable.
It was our first time here thanks to an article on 614.com. And we were very pleased with the food and the experience. We ordered the Garlic Soy Chicken and the Soy Tikkudak Chicken. The portions are quite large and enough for two people to share. Our orders were the half whole (a little confusing but it turned out to be 5 white and 5 dark meat pieces). Our waitress was new to the place but helped us as much as she could. We also got the fries (excellent) and the cole slaw which I didn't care for, but my wife liked. It's quite sweet. They also offered a complimentary pickled jicama. It was alright. The chicken is super crispy and had a delicious ginger, soy, garlic flavor. Crispy on the outside, super moist on the inside. We were provided a small plate and a fork. There are napkins on the table and also disposable gloves so you can eat with your hands. They have soft drinks and a full bar. Highly recommend, we will certainly return.
I've been longing for a replacement for my beloved Bonchon since they are no longer in Columbus. I had high hopes for CM Chicken, but they fell short of the sweet and savory glory that belongs to Bonchon. The service is excellent and this place is really clean. However, the chicken does not satisfy my soy garlic needs. I ordered the soy garlic wings and they don't appear to be double-fried like Bonchon, and that is fine. But the cashier told me when he explained the entire menu that the soy garlic wings contained "no spicy" but in the words of Maury "the lie detected that, that was a lie." These wings had more kick than a UFC fight. I couldn't finish all of them due to the spice. My wife, who is a spicy lover (no pun intended) even thought they were too hot to trot! They also had a chewy texture that I didn't really like. My wife enjoyed her gizzards though. So if I do go back it will be to pick her up some gizzards. Wings 1-5=1. Customer Service 1-5=4, just because he told me a story about the spice level.
Read about this place on 614 so decided to give it a try. Loved the crispiness of the wings and the vast amount of options. We especially liked the popcorn shrimp. If you are looking for veggies, you will only find a dish with onions that top the wings. Want a salad? Try someplace else. Service was fast and they do brisk take-out business. There is a private room for larger parties. The wing recipe is way better than your run-of-the-mill Buffalo Wild Wings or Roosters. read more

What a great spot for fried chicken! I was able to get there right as they opened, so takeout was ready in maybe ten minutes and service was above and beyond. I waited in the car because they had the door open and it was cold, and the owner (?) brought my food out to me because it was ready faster than expected. The actual chicken was fried super crispy, and juicy on the inside. I got the regular fried chicken, which was good, and a side of the garlic soy sauce, which was sweet and spicy and a little smoky and absolutely delicious. They also make some mean curly fries. Rumor has it this place gets super busy, but it's definitely worth timing a visit outside of normal lunch and dinner hours. I will absolutely be back read more

I had the honey garlic chicken tenders. They were delicious and the portions were large. I think I got six tenders. I also had a side of fries and they were double fried and had great taste. My server was fast and very polite. It had a fast casual atmosphere with a bar. The food was really good. read more

One of the best Korean Fried Chicken I had. Better than most ones in California somehow. I don't understand how. They have tikku chicken which they have the chickens fried already then thrown in oven when you order. So the chicken wasn't in the oven enough and wasn't "hot" when I order it but was still good. Also, server told me that the radishes were self-serve, but the owner yelled at me and told me to ask my server so that was confusing. Nonetheless, definitely would visit again. read more

I have been long hoping that Columbus would get back a great Korean fried chicken place.Yes there are other places in Columbus that say they do Korean fried chicken but they aren't. This place has that flavor profile and crunch to it that I recognize to be Korean fried chicken. Excellent place to go and right near tensuke it's perfect location. You get a decent amount for what you pay for. The sauces a really good and the snow onion is a lot better than I was anticipating. The chicken is super crispy and stayed crispy even though it was sitting under a mountain of sauce for at least an hour. Only downside to this place is the price. Its about 12-15$ for an entree but you can definitely share what you order between two people because they give you a lot of chicken. It checks all the boxes for me: service, atmosphere, and taste. Love hearing kpop play and eating tasty soy garlic chicken. read more

I love the food here and the chicken ALWAYS has a crunch when you but into it. I personally think that the garlic soy has a tiny kick to it but it is manageable and it's not supposed to be a spicy flavor. My friends have ordered spicier flavors and they are spicy! I have seen them sweat because of how spicy it is. The staff is really nice and they are very fast. The atmosphere is really energetic, I say this because the music they play can have you enjoying it. There is always something on the tv that you can watch as well. In conclusion, I love this place! read more

Stopped by on the weekend and they are for sure packed during peak hour. If you happen to visit during dinner time, be expect your crispy and juicy fried chicken can take awhile. For each of the Fried Chicken section, you can pick for tenders, drumstick, wings, half chicken or whole chicken. I got the Snow Onion and Garlic Soy Chicken. Personally, I like the Snow Onion one. The chicken is pipping hot, with crispy skin and juiciness within. It topped with sliced onion with creamy sauce. The creamy sauce have a hint of vinegary taste to it, which complement well with the chicken. read more

Lunch special is the best! You can choose between rice and fries (add on for curly fries). My go to was curly fries and extra rice :D we had popcorn shrimp too, but it was too good and we couldn't take any picture! read more

Ordered takeout. Food was delicious, can't imagine how hot and fresh it would've been if I dined in. Portion size was fair; would've been great if it included a few more chicken tenders, but it was filling! read more
Wow! This place was very interesting. Different yet familiar? I ordered takeout after passing this place by a million times while visiting tensuke market across the street. I got the garlic spicy chicken. The breading was crunchy and flavorful. I got the drumsticks which were HUGE. It took me 3 or 4 days to eat all 5. The calamari was also huge. My entire meal was a little pricey but since it lasted a few days I'd say it was worth it. They've got a lot on the menu I'd be interested in trying. Honestly I had a hard time on choosing just two items. Didn't want to go too crazy because of the price. Everything comes in paper boxes just like any fried chicken spot. Overall I will definitely stop back in to try more of their menu. read more

We heard a lot of buzz about CM Chicken, and a neighbor gave huge recommendations for the snow style, so we decided to stop by and grab some take out. We got an order of the classic fried chicken tenders, the Hot Snow Onion tenders, and a side of the curly fries. The portion sizes were generous! We had so much food with plenty of leftovers for another great meal. The fries were hot and crispy with a nice flavor. The classic chicken had a nice texture and did have a very slight zip to it. The Hot Snow Onion were well worth the raves we had heard about them - it was the perfect balance of hot and cool. We will definitely be trying more in the future! The staff was friendly, parking is available in the shopping center lot, and take out was quick and efficient. read more

Always looking to try places I haven't been and some friends told me about this place. I have been Korean fried chicken in the past but this place was a cut above the rest. We order three different things. The curry fried chicken drums, soy garlic wings and red pepper tenders. We also got a side of fries and rice. I am a fan of spicy food and feel that I can normally manage pretty well but the red pepper chicken had me crying at the table! The meat was so tender and a perfect crunch and the flavor was amazing. This one is not for the faint of heart however. It was so spicy I forgot to take photos of the other two dishes but they were great as well. The soy garlic and the curry weren't spicy at all and once my mouth cooled down a bit I came back for some more of the red pepper and the second go wasn't as bad. A bit pricey but I guess that's just where we are now. read more
Fantastic spot for Korean fried chicken, great sauces that are all distinct. Speedy and attentive service and a fun atmosphere. The coating on the chicken was so crisp and stayed crisp even with the sauce. Good selection of Korean beers and drinks too. I preferred the wings over the tenders. They have pickled daikon Banchan, but my only qualm with the place was that I wish they had a larger array of banchan. read more

My wife and I frequently stop in. Our go-to's are the spicy garlic tenders or whole chicken, but we have not had a bad item on the menu. We always talk about how great the service is, how friendly the people are, and how the taste of the products matches the price. If you are looking for familiar food in a different setting, I highly recommend this spot. read more
I was brought here by my friends and this did not disappoint! The spicy chicken drums was soooo spicy but so good. This meal was pricey ~$15 BUT it was extremely filling, and I had leftovers, so it was worth it!! Great prices and deal here. We arrived around 6 on a Saturday and had a short wait as it was so busy. My only complaint is how slow it was ... the server was sorta rough and slow but nice. But regardless it was well worth it and I'll definitely be back! read more
I fell in love with KFC when Bon Chon came into town and was highly disappointed when it left. My best friend patronized that place all the time. So, when this place opened he called and told me about this place coming into the CBUS and this place did not dissapoint. The food was GREAT and the portions sizes were huge. The service however was horrible. The guy could not explain what he had and it was a bit of a confusing process, they were out of rice, lots of chicken options in addition the waiter was hella slow (waited 20 minutes on my cc). They had staff but they were running all over the place and lack efficiency. The chicken was good, but the service was sh*t. I might need to try again to reassess. read more
I am a big fan of Korean Fried Chicken dating back to the days when we had Bonchon in the Sawmill area. We read and heard about CM Chicken and the feedback was so positive that we had to check out the place. We got our food to go and ordered a few different items from the menu - the Snow Onion, Garlic Soy, the Original, and the shrimp tempura. The restaurant is decent sized, and since I was one of the first to arrive when they opened, it was also very clean inside. Since the food is made fresh to order, do expect a wait time longer than what you are told at the counter. I personally liked the garlic soy the best and felt that the snow onion tasted too "oniony" for my liking. The shrimp tempura and the original both tasted fresh, and all the food items travelled well (commute time was about 25 minutes). Overall, I thought the food was very good, but not great, and for the quality and quantity of food, I felt that the price was on the higher end. CM Chicken is a good addition to the vibrant dining scene around the Kenny Center/Bethel Road area of Columbus. read more
If you're trying to go here during lunch or dinner hours, expect a long wait! Korean fried chicken is unique, delicious, and addicting. CM Chicken did a really great job for being a chain and we were pretty excited that it came here. We got the garlic soy and curry flavors, both were absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy, decently sized, and sauced well. The garlic soy was sweet, savory, and just the right amount of both with a touch of garlic. The curry flavor was very unique, we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. It was on the sweet side, tasted like honey and curry, which was very good. Just a note, the curry chicken has a bit of a kick and can be spicy, but not it's not overly spicy. Both flavors were bold and the wings had a great crisp. We would absolutely order both again and try all the other flavors! We also got a complimentary dish of pickled daikon and it helps balance the flavors and refresh your palate, which was really nice. We got wings, but there are options for drumsticks, tenders, half or whole chickens. There was also a platter that has onions and it looked delicious from what we saw. They did cover up a park of their menu, which I assume is no longer available. We also tried ordering calamari but they ran out for that day. Overall, it was a good meal and experience. If you're coming with a large group, you might want to call in and check on wait time be sure it was a 1-1.5 hour wait on a Sat night. It's a great place for casual dates, small groups, family dinner, and tasty wings! They have a lot of parking space, but they do share it with other businesses and there's a decent amount of seating inside. If you're looking for a unique wing experience, definitely worth a try! read more
I've had KFC in Boston all the time when I used to live over there but couldn't find a KFC place in Columbus for the longest time. I'm so glad that CM Chicken opened up. I frequent this place quite often--I think I get chicken from them at least once a month even though they're on the other side of town. There are rumors that they're opening another one in Pickerington area and I sure hope that's true because it'll be so much closer to me! In terms of service, it's OK. I certainly come for the food, not the service. Seriously, the wings are addicting Curry Snow wings - crispy, creamy and oniony Soy Garlic wings - crunchy, full of umami, sticky and garlicky They serve other parts of the chicken too if you're not a fan of wings. You could even get the whole chicken fried! read more

I've already been here twice in two weeks...I'm greeting addicted to the chickens because they are so good! I love juicy fried chicken and various choices of sauce. However I waited for the amount of time that I wouldn't usually wait for fried chicken...this is a new place, so it's understandable, but I hope they'll figure it out. I'll still give a five star because of the perfect chicken read more

Have heard really good reviews about this place so we decided to try it out. Every bite was delicious! The chicken is very tender and every bite is coated perfectly with sauce. I'm a big fan of spicy food but had a hard time with the garlic pepper sauce. Originally wanted to get the red hot pepper sauce but our server made us try it first and I'm glad he did. It is very spicy if you're not used to it! But the sauce is very addicting. read more

Every single bite is so crunchy & we all love it. This by far is our favorite wings place. It's tasty & our favorite is the garlic soy; it has a little kick to it. Korean spicy is good & it gets warm as you continue to eat. The curry snow is good too; need more curry & alot less 'snow' which is sweet mayo, sliced onions. It's abit much for our taste. We noticed that the amount of wings decreased since they first opened. The place is very clean & the staffs are very friendly & polite. It's hard to get this good of service nowadays. read more

What is the white sauce on the "snow onion" chicken like?
It's a white creamy sauce, but not heavy at all! It's light and refreshing and cuts through the heat if you order the chicken spicy. I thought it would be like a mayo or alfredo like thick sauce, but it's not like that at all. I wish I could give…
