It was absolutely wonderful and I can't stop thinking about it since going yesterday. Reminded me of Mapu Beef stew but with noodles instead of rice. Don't skip on the fried dumplings either! Right downtown, Tiger+Lily is close by to the Palace Theater and works for pre-show dinner as it did for us on our first visit. Hip informal vib with ample but not big dining room. Quick and attentive service. We started with crispy dumplings (6), crispy egg rolls (2), and a scallion pancake. Bing, their crepe, wasn't available our night. My dining companions loved the pancake - for me perhaps a bit too much drizzled sauce. It was helpfully quartered when brought to the table so sharing was easy. The dumplings were indeed crispy and probably my favorite with a standard dark dipping sauce. The egg rolls were standard and perhaps a bit undersized and over fried, but a good creamy dipping sauce was a pivot away from the sweet chili sauce that usually accompanies such apps. Ramen is clearly the focus of the menu and three of us had ramen with chicken and one with pork. They spoke favorably of the broth and the combos of mushrooms, boiled egg, greens. I had the rice vermicelli with chicken that they called a salad. I was expecting the classic Vietnamese staple but this one had some adaptations, perhaps to a fusion or one might say less ethnic nod. Small things but the ample portion served in a small bowl made it hard to mix the rice noodles, lettuce, carrot, cucumber and chicken that is a common approach to the dish after drowning all the ingredients in both sweet sauce (nuoc cham), siracha and/or hoisin sauce. It only came with the nuoc cham. They brought Siracha when I asked for it, but I'm a fan of having these condiments on the table standard. Again, had the sense that the business lunch crowd that is probably the primary audience isn't likely to be as focused on the more authentic ingredients. The chicken was also not grilled and sliced but had a pleasant preparation. Just know it won't be the charred flavor that is so common. Finally, not to obsess on this one dish, but cutting the lettuce leaves more would enable easier chop sticks combos of the ingredients in single bites. Overall it worked for us. I am definitely the most focused on (my companions would say obsessed) on connection to what these dishes should be. If adaptations work well for you, Tiger+Lily likely will as well. read more

Took my son there yesterday. Got the fried dumplings, both got the same chicken Roman. The dumplings were fantastic. The Roman was bland. The chicken was very dry. The only thing with flavor were the mushrooms that had a fish taste. Do not recommend. The place was cute and comfortable. The urinal in the men's room has obviously been out of service for a very long time. The waitress was nice. I did get the zombie drink. It was not a good mix of flavors and tasted like death. Came by right after they opened for lunch. Greeted and sat immediately. Place filled up by noon- seems to be popular with the office workers close by. Casual table seating. Had the tom yum ramen and enjoyed it ($14). Good size for lunch. The menu said you could also add on a mini rice bowl to any ramen for $4-$6 depending on your protein choice. I absolutely love Ramen, and find myself to be a bit of a connoisseur of the delicious Japanese dish. To be more specific VEGAN ramen. I've made it a thing to visit as many restaurants that offer vegan ramen as I can in Ohio to see where they all stack up. So after seeing T+L offered vegan options, I was sold. For appetizer, I ordered spring rolls, which were good, but for the price I wouldn't order again as you get two small rolls not 3 or 4. I went with the vegetable + tofu Ramen - which was pretty tastey and had great toppings, although I feel the broth lacked the boldness and flavor I always look for from a vegetable broth. So I added some spice which helped with the flavor. I took home an order of the curry ramen which was all packaged in the same container which was odd seeing as I that thought that option also came with broth. Taste wise it was decent, but I'd op for the veggie ramen if I was to go back. Place look great and the service was also pretty great although they didn't let us know that they charge for sauces. We arrived at 8:25 PM and were immediately told the kitchen was closing in 6 minutes, which made the entire experience feel rushed from the start. I understand restaurants have closing times, but if customers are still being seated, the atmosphere shouldn't feel like we're inconveniencing the staff for ordering food. I ordered an appetizer and ramen, but the appetizer never came out. Then when I tried the ramen, the protein was chicken. I honestly thought the order was wrong because I've never been to a ramen restaurant where chicken was the default protein without it being clearly stated. The chicken was also so dry and flavorless that it felt like something you can give your dog oh and it they put very little of it in the soup. When I asked about it, I was told pork belly was an additional substitution. That definitely could've been communicated better. To make matters worse, the staff started rushing us out as it got closer to 9 PM. It's a sit-down restaurant, so customers staying slightly past closing after being seated shortly beforehand should be expected. One of the employees was also unnecessarily rude during the experience. Overall, the service and food quality were disappointing, and unfortunately this was the worst ramen experience I've had. I can't speak to parking, but the downtown area is walkable. There are restrooms behind the cashier. The restaurant felt more contemporary than I expected. Maybe it's more lively at night because of the bar. I was here for lunch on a Saturday, and it got pretty full. Drinks: Milk green tea $4.50 - watered down, too much condensed milk. Not good at all. Did not finish the drink. Taiwanese milk tea $4.50 - also watered down. Hong Kong silk tea $4.50 - mid. Boba $0.50 topping - chewy, no sweetness. I do not recommend. Appetizers: Chicken karaage $8 - we got the spicy lily dry rub, which made the karaage taste like the inside of a gyoza, very peppery. Additional sauces are $0.50. I expected Japanese karaage, but this wasn't it. Chicken wings $9 - super crispy and jumbo. Ironically the wings might have been the best dish we ordered at this Asian food eatery. Crispy dumpling $7.95 - gyoza w a sweet sauce. I don't recommend this either. Entrees: Lemongrass chicken $10.95 - I don't recommend this. The chicken portion was small. It was mushy - maybe some pieces weren't chicken breast. Too much rice. Rice was wet, like it feels mushy when chewing. The purple cabbage gives the dish color but that's it. Flavor was good, but too much pepper. Tiger signature $14.95 - option for pork belly is additional $2. Flavor is good but not quite the same as traditional ramen. Angus beef noodle $15.95 - flavor is good here. Noodles are decently al dente, but they're using thin ramen noodles for a traditional Taiwanese noodle dish. Beef was cooked ok (on the tough side) but scarce :( I would have liked to try the mala tofu dish or the inferno heat level on the curry. I'm curious how spicy they can go. Gratuity is added for parties of 6 or more. read more

Fun ambience, we sat near the "mood board " inspired windows and enjoyed the many photos. Service was friendly but they got a few things wrong. I've had them on my list to try for a while. A couple of my friends had recommended it. This time, my friend decided on coming here for her bday. The staff seemed busy. Not a ton of servers around so service was pretty slow at first. It's not a large restaurant. A couple handfuls of tables inside. But my friends decided to sit out on the patio. To start, some of us ordered veg spring rolls, okonomiyaki, and kaarage chicken. No seafood in the okonomiyaki. Just cheese and scallions but it was delicious! The kaarage was good without the sauce on the side. Flavorful enough. For drinks, some of us tried the sake or the bubble tea. I got a green milk tea with mango popping boba while my friends got the lavender latte (why were they blue and not purple?), one of them got it with boba. To me, her boba was too firm. And my popping boba didn't have that nice pop. The mango flavor was pretty subtle. Overall, not the place for me to get boba. It's probably healthier and less sugary but not my preference. My friend and I also shared the pop fries and added the kalbi. Seasoned very well! It had a nice kick to it. One of my friends got the Dan Dan mazeman with tofu which tasted good, so I ordered some for takeout but with turkey instead. Yum! It's got a nice spice to it! My other table mates got bowls with the chicken katsu and the teriyaki tofu which they enjoyed. The sake bombs were also delicious! Light and refreshing! Overall, the food is good. Was visiting Columbus for a day trip, came to Tiger+Lily. My partner and I ordered the same thing. We ordered the Mala Firecracker. I ordered Karrage Chicken for an appetizer. Both were really good. I would definitely get the Mala Firecracker again. We only ordered water, the drink options were very minimal. They had gins, vodka's, whiskeys, and things like that. We're both tequila drinkers, and they didn't have any tequila choices. But the customer service was friendly. They checked on us often, cleaned our table when we were done with something, very attentive. It was a youthful environment. We could tell that majority of the ppl in there were in their 20s. Everything hit the mark in my first visit. For drinks, I went with the large Sapporo (great value) while my wife went with the Mai Tai. I snuck a sip and then a gulp! It was strong, sweet and had more ounces than I we bargained for... all of which are wonderful things. The Karaage Chicken was a tender, moist and worthwhile appetizer. Then I ordered the Korean BBQ Chicken, which was a completely different experience with the vegetables, rice and sauce that all complemented each other well. I very much enjoyed it. My wife went with the DanDan Mazeman Turkey which was a soupless noodle dish. It didn't beat the two chicken items that I ordered, but it wasn't bad. In colder weather months, I would love to try one of their brothier offerings which I think better suits my tastebuds. Loved the service and the down-to-earth vibe. Great Spot for a Group Dinner and Drinks While doing business in the Columbus area, we stopped at Tiger + Lily for drinks and a meal. This Asian-fusion restaurant was recommended to us by someone who had eaten there before. We came in a group on a Sunday afternoon and were seated fairly quickly. We were still waiting for all the group to arrive so we ordered a round of apps for the table. The apps we ordered were Wings, Chicken Karage, Pop fries and some dumplings. Since we were all talking it seems the group enjoyed all of the apps since the plates were empty by the time we ordered our mains. For my main course, I had the server make me a protein bowl with Angus Beef, Chicken Karage and Fried Egg. This meal had a great combination of proteins and a great mix of flavours from combining these proteins. The dinner was a hit as everyone enjoyed their food and drinks and we were able to pay our auto-gratted bill by Visa. Stopped in during a visit to Columbus after seeing it was heavily reviewed, and we were very pleased with our experience! The restaurant has a friendly vibe and ample seating. We were able to pick a spot to seat ourselves and were quickly attended to by our server. Wanting to sample both of their main cuisine styles, we ordered the Kalbi Angus Steak rice dish and the Angus Beef Noodle soup. I have a sweet tooth so I had to try their Hong Kong Silk Tea as well! Food took about 10-15 minutes to reach our table after ordering, and was absolutely delicious! The meat was tender and well marinated, the broth wasn't too greasy and had a nice kick to it, and the noodles/rice were perfectly done. We scarfed our meals down pretty quickly lol. The only thing I'd subtract a point for is I wish the portion sizes were a bit larger for the price, but given the area, I understand things can be a little more expensive. The tea was also pretty good -- I added in boba, and it was a great dessert. All in all, a wonderful first visit, and I look forward to returning! read more

Ordered takeout for my family and it was hot and delicious! Broth was packed separately from the ramen and toppings to keep it fresh, which we appreciated. I ordered the Mala Firecracker, extra spicy, with the inferno topping and found it quite spicy and mouth numbing with good flavor! Still dreaming about this place weeks later! Everything we had was amazing. Sadly, they were out of the pop fries that day, but we had heard amazing things. It was easy enough to get a walk in table for 5 on a Friday. We started with the karaage chicken which was very good. For entrees, my husband and I split the chicken katsu and turkey dandans. The katsu was okay, but the dandan noodles were INCREDIBLE. I still think about this dish and would go back to have this again. I was unsure about the turkey at first, but the way they seasoned and cooked it was phenomenal with this dish. Our friends had ramen dishes and enjoyed all of those. I got the lychee martini, which was actually amazing and the price was great (I also come from LA, the city of expensive stuff). What I wasn't happy with is that I order Teriyaki Tofu, but there was no Teriyaki...if there teriyaki on the tofu, I didn't notice at all. I practically had grilled tofu over rice. I know that it's not always fair to compare food from Los Angeles, but the fact I was missing teriyaki from a dish that states it in the name is a little much read more

I had a pretty positive experience here. My bf and I came for lunch on a Sunday, the restaurant wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables available. The restaurant itself was pretty cute and quaint. We were able to seat ourselves and were immediately served. They had a really intriguing cocktail menu that I'd love to come back and try, specifically the passion fruit mule. I ordered the Dan Dan tofu noodles and he had the Tiger Signature ramen. He completely finished it and said how great it was many times. The Dan Dan noodles were so so good with a mild spice. Our total was less than $30 before tip so I'd say this is rather affordable and a great option. Food was delicious and priced well with great service. Will definitely be back soon read more

While in town solo for a work conference I stopped by for dinner. I walked in thinking I would place an order to go, but when I got there it was set up to be party of one friendly. They have a bar to sit at as well as several two tops, some already occupied by solo diners, so I decided to stay. I started with a lovely lychee sake, served martini style. I became a fan of Tiger + Lily during the early days of COVID. Over the years I continued to follow their story, especially during the 2020 riots, which they were affected by greatly. The only thing is that I always ordered delivery... but over the weekend, I finally made it in-person. I wish I hadn't waited as long as I did, because it was awesome! They are tucked away downtown, off Gay St, right around the corner from High St. There's street parking out front and a few parking garages close by. They have a cute little patio right out front on the sidewalk and a giant window, which was great for people watching. The service was friendly right from the jump. We were seated at a cozy table in the corner and served water and menus right away. My boyfriend and I each ordered a drink and we shared an order of pop fries. The fries were fire, but I wasn't a fan of my cocktail. I think next time I will just get some sake. As for entrees, I was excited to try the vegetarian ramen, as vegetarian broth can be harder to find. It was flavorful but I could have added some sriracha, hoisin sauce, or chili oil to up the ante a bit. The veggies were cooked just right, but the noodles were the star of the show. As delicious as it was, the serving was huge and I couldn't finish it all. Needless to say, I'm excited to visit more in-person.
