Little pieces of protein.

We arrived at 8:25 PM and were immediately told the kitchen was closing in 6 minutes, which made the entire experience feel rushed from the start. I understand restaurants have closing times, but if customers are still being seated, the atmosphere shouldn't feel like we're inconveniencing the staff for ordering food. I ordered an appetizer and ramen, but the appetizer never came out. Then when I tried the ramen, the protein was chicken. I honestly thought the order was wrong because I've never been to a ramen restaurant where chicken was the default protein without it being clearly stated. The chicken was also so dry and flavorless that it felt like something you can give your dog oh and it they put very little of it in the soup. When I asked about it, I was told pork belly was an additional substitution. That definitely could've been communicated better. To make matters worse, the staff started rushing us out as it got closer to 9 PM. It's a sit-down restaurant, so customers staying slightly past closing after being seated shortly beforehand should be expected. One of the employees was also unnecessarily rude during the experience. Overall, the service and food quality were disappointing, and unfortunately this was the worst ramen experience I've had. I wouldn't return.

Dan Dan noodles

Not my favorite ramen spot, but their Dan Dan noodles were great! I highly recommend this place for noodle specifically. I tried their ramen, the noodle in the ramen are average, and you have to make sure you sub for pork belly, otherwise you get turkey

Overall: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Value: 7/10 Really, really good food. Unique and tasty. It was an amazing gem that we found along our visit to Columbus. The only thing that was better than the food was the service! Check this place out if you're in the neighborhood.

Food was amazing. Very attentive waitress. Great place to kick back and enjoy some delicious ramen while it's cold.

Okonomiyaki

The Tiger Signature ramen was great as usual, but the okonomiyaki was so delicious! Perfect amount of sauce and toppings. Well balanced flavor.

Food was meh. Maybe the taste is good, but I can't say it's authentic. With a name like Tiger + Lily, I thought they would focus more on southeast Asian food. I can't speak to parking, but the downtown area is walkable. There are restrooms behind the cashier. The restaurant felt more contemporary than I expected. Maybe it's more lively at night because of the bar. I was here for lunch on a Saturday, and it got pretty full. Drinks: Milk green tea $4.50 - watered down, too much condensed milk. Not good at all. Did not finish the drink. Taiwanese milk tea $4.50 - also watered down. Hong Kong silk tea $4.50 - mid. Boba $0.50 topping - chewy, no sweetness. I do not recommend. Appetizers: Chicken karaage $8 - we got the spicy lily dry rub, which made the karaage taste like the inside of a gyoza, very peppery. Additional sauces are $0.50. I expected Japanese karaage, but this wasn't it. Chicken wings $9 - super crispy and jumbo. Ironically the wings might have been the best dish we ordered at this Asian food eatery. Crispy dumpling $7.95 - gyoza w a sweet sauce. I don't recommend this either. Entrees: Lemongrass chicken $10.95 - I don't recommend this. The chicken portion was small. It was mushy - maybe some pieces weren't chicken breast. Too much rice. Rice was wet, like it feels mushy when chewing. The purple cabbage gives the dish color but that's it. Flavor was good, but too much pepper. Tiger signature $14.95 - option for pork belly is additional $2. Flavor is good but not quite the same as traditional ramen. Angus beef noodle $15.95 - flavor is good here. Noodles are decently al dente, but they're using thin ramen noodles for a traditional Taiwanese noodle dish. Beef was cooked ok (on the tough side) but scarce :( I would have liked to try the mala tofu dish or the inferno heat level on the curry. I'm curious how spicy they can go. Gratuity is added for parties of 6 or more.

Great spot serving a wide variety of Asian food options. I tried the ramen and tofu, ramen was excellent and tofu was flavorful as well. Located centrally in downtown, staff was friendly as well.

I stopped by Tiger + Lily as dinner before I went to the Symphony down the street, so I knew I'd be tight on time and had to choose a restaurant carefully to make it to our seats at the theatre. It was the perfect choice! I was in and out in 50 minutes and left feeling satisfied. My ramen was a little plain, but the dumplings were super flavorful and the spring rolls were super fresh and piping hot! I only noticed indoor seating, it was pretty busy, and there were only a few servers, but it was a great experience and I would certainly go back.

Ramen (beef) absolutely delicious!!

We absolutely loved this place! I give everything we ate a 10/10. My son gets jobs in Columbus and we like to try new places. My granddaughter and I went earlier without my son and couldn't find parking. My son said, let's go back. With him I was able to find parking, right across the street. Can't wait to go back!!

K Pop Fries
Jessica E.

Pretty good. The k pop fries were honestly the best thing we got- delicious! Not sure why they've decided to turn half the seats into barstools but it was not a comfy eating experience unfortunately. Don't waste your time with the rice bowl side, it was just white rice with a little chicken on top.

Mala Firecracker Karaage Chicken(in the back)
Taletha W.

Was visiting Columbus for a day trip, came to Tiger+Lily. My partner and I ordered the same thing. We ordered the Mala Firecracker. I ordered Karrage Chicken for an appetizer. Both were really good. I would definitely get the Mala Firecracker again. We only ordered water, the drink options were very minimal. They had gins, vodka's, whiskeys, and things like that. We're both tequila drinkers, and they didn't have any tequila choices. But the customer service was friendly. They checked on us often, cleaned our table when we were done with something, very attentive. It was a youthful environment. We could tell that majority of the ppl in there were in their 20s. But that wasn't a bother. Anyhow, good Ramen!

Nice, cozy spot. I like to eat ramen after a long flight. Picture looks better than it tastes.Noodles were nice and chewy. Green onions were somewhat dehydrated. Broth was non-traditional and the spice was was not Japanese chili spice .

Food and fast service . I would like more atmosphere, but that's okay as it was just a quick stop over before a show.

For my birthday, I was happy to try this place out since this location was close to home. Columbus is slowly becoming the place for all things foodie and geeky and I love that for us! This place is located on the 1280 W 5th Street and Northwest Blvd. There is parking in the front, and the restaurant is small and cozy. The seating is for parties of 4 to 5 but arrangements can be made so talk to a server. The menu offered everything from drinks, small place to ramen and I wanted to try more. We got the salt and pepper shrimp, the Kyushu Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), Hot tea and Takoyaki for a group of 5. Everything was piping hot and delicious and lightly seasoned to bring out the flavors of the overall dish. The servers were sweet and extremely helpful for explaining what things were and me, being a ramen nerd, could sit back and relax. I got the Kyushu Black Garlic Tonkotsu. It was so GOOD!! I love the taste of black garlic and the umami in the dish was so pleasant. The noodles were chewy, and the pork slices were so tender. The Tendernism! I took my friend here to try their katsu and I was not disappointed. I decided to get their Ton Katsu Teishoku Set so I could try everything they had. This meal took me back to my trip to Japan. I like how they gave you sesame seeds to grind for your sauce. The pork katsu was crispy and juicy. I also thought the rice was perfectly cooked. When I came here, the server accidentally spilled some of the soup on me and was very apologetic. They offered me complimentary soup to make up for the accdient. Overall, I would definitely come back to try their other items like the curry!

Experience - walking in, this is more of fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and pick a seat. We ordered the Osaka ton katsu don (chicken) and the ton kotsu teishoku. It took a bit of time to make (we understand now because that day just happened to be understaffed) but it was completely worth it for the amazing taste. Food - For context, we're from new york, and as religious foodies, sowe're used to eating some of the best food in the world. We've had a few ok-ish restaurants here in the downtown area but nothing to write home about so we didn't have much expectations. However, we were pleasantly surprised that this restaurant exceeded even our highest expectations of food and service even by new york standards. The chicken is so crispy on the outside but so juicy on the inside - the PERFECT katsu texture and the sauce is amazing! When we went, it took a bit longer to get our food but they explained that they were understaffed and adjusting for demand. They seem pretty locally run and they were doing the best they can. I really appreciated the warm, personal touch in the end and would definitely say the food is 110% worth the wait. all in all 100/10! Definitely worth going out of our way for.

We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.

The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.
