Stingy with the soup and rice
    David G.

We usually order from the Pasadena location but being in Arcadia, we did a scheduled pickup here. Definitely do not plan to do that again. We got the family combo. It comes with rice and soup. In Pasadena, they fill to the brim. Here, they do not. And when I asked if they packed us the soy sauce, they said they did. We didn't find out that wasn't the case until we got home and they doubled up on the other sauces but not a single soy sauce was given. The main guy who works here is pretty brusque too. He just plopped the bag of food on the counter when it was ready. So overall, pretty disappointing experience considering we actually really like them.

I was feeling under the weather and looking for some chicken broth and Cluck2Go - Arcadia came up. I ordered online ahead of time and picked it up. Unlike most online orders, I didn't have to pay until I got to the restaurant. I ordered their Hainan Chicken Rice ($14.25) with the dark meat. It comes with a small portion of chicken broth, but I wanted an additional side order of a Large House Special Chicken Soup ($6.99) for added comfort. I also added the Spicy Cucumber Salad ($9.50) to be healthy. The restaurant was a very quaint with only a few small tables. Other customers who came during the same time as me seemed to be there for pick up orders too. The order was ready when I got there, before the estimated time. Staff was very efficient. The food was very well packaged with quality take out containers. The chicken was flavorful and juicy. There was a generous amount of chicken in my Hainan Chicken Rice, but not a lot of rice, which is fine for me. The chicken broth was exactly what I needed to sooth me in the cold weather. The cucumbers were a nice fresh and crispy contrast. When it comes to Hainan chicken, I prefer Savoy but Cluck2Go is not bad of an alternative if I'm too lazy to make the trek over.

Tender, moist and juicy steamed chicken that perfectly complemented the rice - it was simply delicious! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Ambiance is casual with only two tables. Highly recommended!

This is probably the best Hainan chicken rice in LA in my opinion. The chicken is very fresh, juicy, and tender. The rice has great flavor. The ginger scallion sauce and red ginger chili sauce go well with the chicken and rice. It's hard for me to name a place that serves better Hainan chicken rice than this place.

I love Cluck2Go in Rowland Heights (5/5) but feel that Cluck2Go in Arcadia is just not quite on the same level. It was my 3rd time trying the Arcadia location (all 3 times were take out, since they are pretty small with 2 tables). The first time, the chicken was pretty moist and they were more generous with the sauce). The second and third time, the chicken was dry and tasted "rubbery", and only got 1 set of sauce per order. It's still my go-to spot when I crave Hainan Chicken, but wish they can be more generous with their sauces.

Combo B (before the fried beans and soup came)

TLDR: It's a place that offers something different to those who are not familiar with Hainan chicken, and it's something good for those who are. Combo B - (Full Hainan Chicken, 4 Hainan Rice, Fried Green Beans, Chicken Soup, Pickled Vegetables, Chili Sauce, Ginger Sauce) Hainan Chicken: The Hainan chicken tasted clean, tender, and deeply comforting. The chicken itself was silky and juicy, almost buttery, with each bite holding just the right hint of natural sweetness from the poaching broth. The flavors were delicate rather than aggressive, allowing the freshness of the chicken to shine through. Hainan Rice: It's rice cooked in chicken fat. It may sound disgusting to some, but there is no denying the amazing flavor punch that the rice had, and this place really nailed it. Fried Green Beans: It's their vegetable side, so add more color to the meal. It's fine for the first few pieces, but it gets old very quickly. Nonetheless, the dish was crunchy but salty the longer the meal went on. Chicken Soup: Imagine every chicken soup you've had in your life. Average that, and you get this. Big fan of the tender chicken cubes included here. Sauces and pickled vegetables: Fine work on the sauces and pickled vegetables. No notes Service: It's very straightforward. Nothing to note here. Ambiance: It's a very small shop that can sit 6-8 people at most. Based on my observations, most of their customers order to-go anyway.

Fast service! Tasty food! Good value! Definitely a little hole in the wall We got combo A for dinner which includes half chicken (boneless), chicken soup, chicken rice, spicy cucumber salad, peanut and pickles. You can pick dark meat, white meat or mix. Enough for 2-3 ppl. order up at the counter. There are two tables there for dine in. Most have it to gos. Parking in strip mall.

Combo A good for two but plenty food for one
    Niki S.

This place is primarily for takeout, with no indoor seating available. It's super convenient to place an order online and pick it up later. The food is consistently good. I usually go for Combo A, which is a generous portion for two people. The combo includes fried peanuts that are absolutely delicious--they seem to be roasted with sugar and salt, making them incredibly addictive. It also comes with a cucumber salad that's spicy, but there's no option for a milder alternative. It also comes with chicken, rice, and chicken soup--perfect when you're in the mood for something light. The service is always friendly and polite. You can conveniently order online and pay in-store when you pick it up.

The sauces were only 1/4 filled

    Ask the Community - Cluck2Go - Arcadia

Is it standard that if you order two sets of Hainan chicken rice, you only get one set of sauces? I only got one set of sauce. :(

Each order should come with a set of sauce (one green and one red). I've ordered several times for my family and we always get a set for each order. Maybe it's an oversight.

    Is there indoor dining?

Not at this point, takeout only...there are literally 2 small tables, and no chairs...and frankly, not sure there's going to be enough space!

It comes with half a chicken, two bowls of rice, peanuts and cucumber. Every single part of this meal was delicious. The peanuts and cucumber are spiced very slightly with a sichuan taste, the chicken is nice and moist and I couldn't stop eating the rice. I will note that the rice has a slight coconut taste to it? I'm not sure if the rice is cooked with a bit of coconut water/milk but once my fiance pointed it out, I couldn't get past it. Service is very friendly and attentive. Portions are big, prices are fair, and each plate comes with a cup of chicken broth and two sauces, which I appreciated. Overall, the food was tasty and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing. The staff ignored us multiple times when we asked for a spoon and some salt. No response at all, even though they clearly saw us. We waited a long time just to get any acknowledgment, which felt rude and uncomfortable. I'd consider ordering takeout again because the food is good, but I wouldn't come back to dine in.

The locals know of better spots. But I'm not local, so Savoy is all I've ever known…read more They have other items, but everyone comes here for chicken rice. Practically every table will have an order. Yeah, soft chicken - even the white meat, rice with a strong chicken flavor you didn't know existed, and excellent ginger sauce that surprisingly hasn't gone viral yet. Boneless chicken, by the way, so non-Canto friendly, and you saw that with the mosaic of people coming in to pick up an order. Me too, planning to pick up 2 orders before making my way Irvine, driving fast, faces pass, and I'm southbound. Jiving like Terry Crews. OK, maybe not "driving fast". This is LA, after all. But then the daily special menu caught my eye. It's Thursday. Chicken ala King, the chicken Al Fredo of Hong Kong, the one white sauce Western dish that HongKongers think of. It's fine. You have a job, and you're not here as often as you wish. Trigger pulled. And you're not the thermopile that you think you are anymore. Trigger pulled on the large chrysanthemum tea. And boy, do I NOT regret that decision. The flavors were on point, just like how it used to be in HK! The richness of the butter worked well with the flavor of the chicken. I don't feel as bad as enjoying the butter and cheeese combo that is Al Fredo but that's probably a bias I have. (The easiest place to get this in HK is actually KFC... But the execution is also pepper heavy there is no taste semblance to the original dish...) The tea is floral, sweet with a slight bitter aftertaste from being a little over brewed if your standard is Vita, but absolutely perfect for the heatwave. Service was great too. The boss lady smiled but was also very sharp. Got the tea immediately, no fuss about the ice, no hesitation and ready to switch when I asked if the adjacent container is milk tea. It's not. It's THEIR cappuchino. By the way, if you noticed the 3 veggie paintings on their wall, here's the irony... I'm pretty sure there's no leeks, carrots, or garlic used in making chicken rice. The yellow of the walls work well though, working in step with the sunset hues, and a far cry from the no-frills hospitial-wite walls of so many other Cantonese mom-n-pops. And sadly, no one comes close in the Bay Area, not even the 2 new shops in Millbrae dare I say. Parking isn't an issue. Valley Blvd is a busy street, but the side streets are residential. Try not to be on the other side of Valley though. Valley with its traffic is a pain in the rear to cross. Even if you're not a chicken. N if u gonn' say jo mama make it betta', lemme ask, jo mama make dat rice too? Sorry for Game-of-Throning in the beginning, but TBH it's not like this ESTABLISHMENT needs this review. Half fried/half grilled high on chicken rice, 8.5/10: both the grilled and fried chicken were hot and crispy. The chicken was cooked well and nicely seasoned. I thought the chicken could use a tad bit of salt though. The soup it came with was piping hot and accompanied the rice and chicken well. The rice itself could have used a bit more seasoning and chicken fat in my opinion. The sauce it came with were great especially the ginger sauce that added the fresh complexity that the dish desperately needed. Adding onto that, I think I could use some vegetables on the side.
