Made a reservation about a month in advance for Saturday brunch. I don't recommend coming here on the weekend without a reservation unless you're okay with possibly waiting 3 1/2 hours! Yikes! I don't really think it's worth waiting that long. I got the buttermilk biscuit sandwich ($14) and blueberry pancakes ($18). I was torn between the pancakes and waffle special but since I thought they were more known for their pancakes I went with the pancakes. Both meals were good! The tomato jam with the sandwich was more like tomato sauce; it was very good! I definitely walked away satisfied. read more

I was left speechless and extremely satisfied with my visit to Clinton St Baking. We arrived to the restaurant at 8:10am with no reservations and the line already wrapped around...just a heads up. But the wait is well worth it. As soon as they opened they let those with reservations in first then us the walk-ins. We were lucky enough to be given a table right away. But I have to say that was due to us being in line since 8:10am. It's pretty tight inside so you better be comfortable sitting close to others but don't worry everyone is enjoying their food that it's fine. Food came out warm, coffee was constantly being topped and service was friendly. For the first timers going, I highly suggest sharing pancakes with someone else. They are huge but boy are they delicious! Fluffy, buttery, a nice little crisp from the griddle and simply delicious. The Hash Browns are a must. They taste like a combination between hash browns and a baked potato. Amazing! read more

Saw this on ig as the best pancake in NY. About 30-35 min wait, and a ton of people sitting outside early Saturday morning so I'd recommend making a reservation My friend said the quality of the French toast was so high she didn't need to cut off the edges. My pancake had crunchy edges yet fluffy the blueberry was good but not great, maybe i should've got chocolate or original? The bites i had without blueberry on them or their syrup was actually better lol. Bacon was bomb, definitely better than your average. Fresh orange juice I'd come back and get a pancake i personally think I'd like instead of a viral one to see if it's really the best. Have u ever been charged extra for asking for a second syrup though lol? read more

We had a reservation for Saturday at 5:30pm. Not too busy and it seems like the counter seats at least were largely empty without reservations for them. Two of us shared: Blueberry pancakes: a more gourmet diner pancake. I didn't taste much of the blueberries in the batter but the compote on top was delicious and not-medicinal tasting which blueberry flavors are prone to do. I'd get this again but I do like other places more for their pancakes (i.e. Sunday, Uva). Chicken and waffles: the chicken was thinly pressed and tender and the battle was crispy. The waffles weren't bad but I like a crispier waffle and thought the pancakes were better here. It was also a huge portion so I took most of the chicken to go. They also added a maple butter on the side without charge! Tempted to come back for February pancake month. read more

They know what they're doing with the pancakes and their fried chicken. You'd be remiss to not order either dish. The pancakes are served with a delicious butterscotch syrup. Not pictured here is the fried chicken sandwich which was excellent. Pro tip- go for dinner. Same menu, but A LOT easier to get a reservation or even just walk in. read more

Food came out quickly, fresh and delicious. We had the chicken & waffles, (nice portion) the large waffle was amazing, My daughter had eggs benedict w lox over crispy latkes, we shared the French toast (yumm) I really enjoyed the hot cider. My husband had an IPA. The ambience was chill, the servers were friendly, kind. We attended on a Monday, walked in with no reservations and were seated within 5 mins. read more

Ive been coming here for years. Haven't been in a while decided to stop by and have breakfast and was very underwhelmed. The wait was over 1hr . The pancakes which to me is the high lite of breakfast no longer good quality. No longer fluffy but thick and heavy doesn't taste good at all any more bacon over cooked and when requested fried eggs I was told only scrambled. Save yourself time and money book somewhere else read more

Oh New York social media...you got me on this one! Clinton Street Baking company is suppose to have top 3 pancakes in all of the NYC boroughs.....They were light, they were fluffy and the blueberry compote as a topper was delicious. Were they overhyped? Absolutely, I was wondering why and it dawned on me.....these city dwellers don't have access to the excellence of Crackers Barrel pancakes! The nearest one is 1 hour away for these poor souls! I will chalk it up to the reviewers not ever leaving the city lol. I wouldn't be as bitter if I didn't have to wait an hour in a line around the corner for a little above average pancakes, so there is that lol. Enjoy the pics! So happy we get a reservation for this place because they were PACKED and the waitlist was long. We only came for the pancakes and they were SO GOOD. Exceeded expectations for sure. The warm maple butter was sooooo good and we asked for crispy edges which was perfect mix of crispy edge with fluffy center. I wish we got our waiter's name because he was so nice and attentive. We also got a side of bacon that was cooked perfectly and the orange juice hit. I still dream about these pancakes. read more

Highly anticipated 1 month reservation for subpar pancakes and I really wish that wasn't the case :( I originally saw these go viral on instagram, so obviously I had to try. The blueberry is definitely better than the banana walnut. The pancakes arent better than any other that I've had. Could go without the warm maple butter for the blueberry pancakes since they are sweet enough already but the banana walnut pancakes deff needed the booster Ordered hash browns, double smoked bacon, and pickles for the sides. Hash browns needed pepper & hot sauce. The spiked apple cider was the star of the show - definitely recommend! Would I come back here for the pancakes? Probably not. Would I consider coming back to try other items on the item? Maybe! It was super crowded, even at 2pm so chances of walk in availability are slim. It was good, but I don't think it was so good to be worth waiting over an hour for a table if you can't get in right away. We arrived as a party of 2 about 10 minutes after they opened on a Friday and were seated right away. I couldn't decide between sweet and savory, so I got the chicken and waffles. I was somewhat concerned when they brought it out because the style of the fry on the chicken is more like how you see fish fried, but it was tasty so no problem. The waffle was delicious with the maple butter, and there was just enough maple butter to polish off the waffle. I think I would have had to pay the upcharge for extra maple butter if I had ordered the pancakes- the ones I saw going by looked extremely thick. read more

WORTH THE WAIT! After visiting NYC a few times I was finally able to snag a 12 pm reservation on a Monday (yes its always booked, and even on a Monday I got lucky when I was notified on Resy that there was a cancellation and a reservation was available!). When we arrived it was packed, with lots of hungry customers both seated and spilling out of the doorway. We were about 10 minutes early so the hostess had us wait a bit before our table was ready, but we wound up being seated by about 12:10 pm. As many others have said they truly honor their reservation system, so if you're going it's HIGHLY recommended you book on Resy. If not you'll be waiting about 2-3 hours which I'd say is worth it but takes up a lot of your day! Once we were seated we had the nicest server go over some of the top menu items. I personally knew what I was there for and had decided MONTHS ago that I was getting the pancakes. But to kick off I had the spiked apple cider drink which was seasonal but perfect to start the meal. Its cozy inside but with a small draft (the door constantly swinging open) and after having waited outside for 15+ minutes a warm beverage was the way to go. But once I was settled in and halfway through my drink then came those pancakes. FIVE STARS! They had perfect crispy edges and were the perfect size. Not overly filling and delicious! And that warm syrup was the perfect pairing and made for a wonderful dish. All in all we were there just a little over an hour. The service was fast and people were constantly shuffling in and out. Highly recommend visiting and as a I said in the beginning - it was worth the wait! read more

I have tried to be seated in the restaurant for three weekends in a row, but you need to wake up and be lined up super early as the lines are long. Today (Sunday), I decided to pop in around 2pm thinking the rush may be over; unfortunately, they stopped accepting people but encouraged me to pop over to the takeout line. Decided to try their insta famous blueberry pancakes & after the server encouraged trying the fried chicken sandwich, I went for it. After years of wanting to try this spot, I finally got to the LES and it exceeded all of my expectations! Such a cozy environment and lovely service too! Smoked salmon eggs Benedict on the best potato latkes I've ever had - 10/10!! Fried chicken and waffles - juicy spiced chicken and the fluffiest waffles w/ maple butter on the side - divine!! Came on a Friday with no reservation and the wait time was 1 hour and 45 minutes.. My friend and I waited and ate a super late lunch at 2ish-3. This was on our place to try for years lol Finally made it our of the chat haha. Ordered the blueberry pancakes ($20) and fried chicken & waffles ($23). LOVE their signature warm maple butter! I've had the pancakes before and it was soo fluffy, soft, and buttery. First time trying their fried chicken & waffles. It was a crispy belgian vanila buttermik waffle which was delicious! The fried chicken breast was not dry and the fried batter was light. The service was slow, it took awhile for our food to come and the servers didn't come by to check up on us that often and had to wait awhile to get someone's attention for the bill. I've tried Clinton Street Baking Company for brunch twice now, and have been thoroughly impressed both times. This place definitely gets crowded quickly but if you're able to snag a reservation ahead of time then you'll be seated and served quickly. The pancakes with warm maple butter are absolutely to die for. The warm maple butter is what's really the cherry on top of already delicious, fluffy pancakes. I'd eat here over and over again just for that sauce. We also tried the huevos rancheros which were tasty but the pancakes were really the star of the show. Clinton St. Baking Company's pancakes were heavenly! Honestly, I didn't even know it was possible to make pancakes that good. When I bit into them, they tasted like no other breakfast item that I've ever tasted before in my life. The fries were immaculate as well; they were hot, crispy, golden brown, and absolutely delicious. The only downsides were that the service wasn't great, and there were long stretches of time where the waiter didn't stop by our table. I also didn't particularly like the cocktail that I got, but my friend said that their espresso martini was one of the best they've ever had. I'd definitely recommend stopping in and biting into these slices of heaven! read more

I've wanted to go to this restaurant for years but never had time before when visiting NYC but today I made the time and I'm so glad that I did. The plain pancakes were delicious and the best I've ever eaten. The tasted like pure butter but not in an overwhelming. If I lived locally they'd be my guilty pleasure. I also ordered the chicken apple sausage and hashbrowns. The sausage was so tasty and I'd order them again. The hashbrowns were good but I couldn't done without them. They were too thick for me but had a great crust on them. The young lady that seated me was so friendly and professional. My server was great but it felt like I was being rushed so that they could they could open up my seat to someone else. This is what prevented me from giving the restaurant a 5. If you're coming for the food, you're in for a treat--Clinton Street Baking Company absolutely delivers on flavor. The pancakes are legendary for a reason: fluffy, buttery, and perfectly golden. Weirdly, after all this time I didn't even try the iconic pancakes but the food was still good. Not really "wait over an hour" good but a decent breakfast nonetheless. Chicken Apple Sausage (5/5) These fresh patties were a pleasant surprise. So juicy & flavorful. Seasonal Apple Pie Waffle (4/5) I personally like a crispy waffle. It was pretty soft & not hot when it came out. The batter was good, apple crumble topping, the fresh whipped and heavenly maple butter made this delightful. Country Breakfast Platter: (3.5/5) My sister thought the breakfast potatoes were overcooked, her biscuit a bit dry but also agreed that the chicken sausage was so good. Some friends and I went for dinner on a Saturday night earlier this month. i had made a reservation for two and then needed a bigger table. When I ca the staff said they were booked. But when two of us went by early, the host said we'd just have a short wait, which was the time of our reservation anyway. We appreciated them accommodating us last minute like that. We were seated in the corner, which was good because we had bags and bouquets. It was a tiny bit cramped since we were by a waiter station, but we managed. Everyone loved the food: we had a combination of fried chicken dinners and breakfasts. My friend really enjoyed her French Toast with bananas and her husband thought the lox and eggs were great. The fried chicken was flavourful and pretty juicy. I thought the prices were quite decent for the portions. I'd like to go back and try other items on the menu. We'll be going back soon! read more

Got in line a little before opening on a Wednesday morning and was seated right when they opened the doors. Our server was friendly and patient (they were very busy). We enjoyed all of our food, but the pancakes were truly the standout and lived up to the hype. I highly recommend. The space was clean and well managed and I'd definitely return. read more

We came here on a weekend afternoon and signed ourselves up on the waitlist. They said to expect a 1 hour and 45 minutes wait and that they would text us when our spot was available. We walked around and explored the neighborhood and got the text after waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes! We came after hearing great things about the pancakes with warm maple butter (particularly the one with wild Maine blueberries) so that's what we got. We also got the southern breakfast as a savory option. The rich, velvety, warm maple butter and slightly tart jammy blueberries complimented the fluffy pancakes really nicely. The southern breakfast was also good, but nothing noteworthy. Overall, the pancake was definitely our favorite of the two things we ordered. I'm not sure if I would wait another 1.5 hours to get them again, but it's definitely worth a try! read more

Best pancakes in NY! We knew it would be a wait especially on a Saturday morning so we got there at 8:30. We were second in line but soon there was a line wrapped around the corner. We ordered their famous blueberry pancake and banana walnut pancake. Both were so yummy. For our savory dishes we got the chicken and waffles and biscuit sandwich with potatoes and chicken sausage. The chicken and waffle was very well seasoned with a slight kick but well balanced with the sweetness of the maple syrup. Liked that the battered chicken was boneless and flatten. This was our third visit to Clinton's, and maybe our last--not because we don't love it, but because it's so hard to get in without a reservation, and we rarely plan trips to the city. However, my partner and I wanted to celebrate our 3-year anniversary at the restaurant where we had our first date, so we made it happen. We both ordered the chicken sandwich, which we absolutely love. Clinton's has set a high standard for chicken sandwiches for us--it's hard to find one that measures up! Surprisingly, this was the first time we've been to Clinton's when it was almost empty. There was just one other couple there, and we're not sure if they close before transitioning to dinner or close early, but it felt like we had the place to ourselves, which was pretty special. It was the perfect way to revisit the restaurant that brought us together. Our waiter was very attentive, and as usual, the food was absolutely delicious. What can I say about Clinton street baking company. It's soooo good I get why it's always an hour wait time to get in. I get why they don't take reservations. I always forget until I'm able to go back. It's just sooo good. Every single bite, every single plate is just outstanding. The scrambled eggs were so fluffy and amazing, the eggs benny were to die for and I was so sure that I would want to end on those until I had the pancakes. Just wow. They don't miss. 4 stars for the pancakes only. I've been here several times and always think the blueberry pancakes are amazing. This was no different. Those were by far the best dish. We came for dinner but also had the pancakes. We had the buffalo wings, fried chicken with Mac & cheese, eggs Benedict, and the blueberry pancakes. The buffalo wings were good, still juicy inside. Buffalo wings are often fried till they're crunchy on the outside but leaving it dry inside. Maybe not as traditional, but I liked it better juicier. The fried chicken was lacking. It was neither crunchy on the outside nor juicy on the inside. It was disappointing. My son asked the type of fried chicken so he can remember not to order it again. The Mac & cheese was good, grilled nice and crunchy on top. The eggs Benedict was just ok, nothing special. Overall, only the pancakes were outstanding. Everything else was a little disappointing. Best pancakes ever. So difficult to snag a reservation on Resy; good luck with that! Worth the effort to keep trying though, not gonna lie. You might have a better chance trying them at Time Out Brooklyn but sometimes it's difficult getting a seat there. The chicken and waffles were also delicious. The house made hot sauce and maple butter are divine. I did get the cookbook on Amazon so that'll be fun to try their recipes. Friendly service, diner-like vibes but can be a little crowded. read more

Oh my gosh. Hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. Those Maine blueberry pancakes with the maple butter are something I'll be dreaming about the rest of my life. I also ordered the banana walnut pancakes which were good but the blueberry were the real winner. The cheesy eggs were perfect too! Freshly squeeze OJ hit the spot. I finally made it to clinton st bakery and while I was thrilled to get a seat after being in line 20 mins before opening in the walk ins line I can say overall the experience was fine/ ok. Service I will say was good our waitress was around and very friendly and the supporting staff always kept my water glass filled to the brim. I ordered a bellini which i did not finish because it honestly tasted cheap, like it had a low quality prosecco in it. the pancakes one of their most popular items were just fine, they were very fluffy but didn't really have too much flavor. the fries were fine. my friend got the berry waffles and I will say the waffles were great! great flavor and maybe the fluffiest waffle ive ever had. Known for their pancakes and an overall classic diner type atmosphere. The food is pretty good but I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for a table. We got their Blueberry Pancakes and Breakfast Platter. The Pancakes are definitely dreamy with the buttery caramel syrup and the tartness from the blueberries helps cut through the goodness. The pancakes are fluffy and are pretty much exactly what you would want a pancake to taste like. The platter was pretty simple with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, cheese slices, sausage and some toast. Nothing to rave about but a decent platter. Overall, a good breakfast place but a little bit overhyped so wouldn't wait too long to dine here. read more

I went for brunch with my son. He ordered the apple pie waffle topped with caramelized apples, whipped cream, and a fried chicken breast (which was delicious). I had the biscuits with cheddar eggs and chicken sausage (ehhh). The service was quick, which I appreciated. However, I didn't like that there's a $25 reservation fee that does not go toward your bill ...that felt misleading. The space inside is also pretty tight and crowded, tables are very close together. In an economy this expensive, Clinton Street Baking Co. is definitely not for the people. A $25 reservation fee that doesn't go toward the bill is wild to me. read more

We are world famous for our breakfast and brunch dishes, including pancakes, eggs benedict, brioche french toast, buttermilk fried chicken & waffles, and house made burgers and fries. Save room for our hand-crafted Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory milkshakes, spiked or virgin. All muffins, pies, cakes and most of our bread is baked in small batches on premises. History

Established in 2001.

When we began, we were a small wholesale baking company with a storefront and a few loyal neighborhood customers who lingered over coffee and muffins and tapped out on their laptop keys (before smartphones were born). These days, most folks know that are pancakes are voted best in the city, but it's the savory dishes that ground our menu and make us proud. People call it "comfort food," but what we dish out is American Classics made with the highest quality ingredients, locally sourced -- whenever possible -- with lots of love (and butter).

Meet the Business Owner: Neil and Dede K.

Chef Neil Kleinberg raised himself in a crazy kitchen in Flatbush, Brooklyn, among 4 kids, 2 parents, 16 neighborhood cousins, and 6 aunts and uncles. Neil opened his first restaurant, Simon's in Lincoln Center, at just 22 and in 1997 re-opened the legendary seafood restaurant, Lundy's, in his native Brooklyn. Neil has appeared on Martha Stewart Living, The Today Show, Good Day New York, The Cooking Channel's "United Tastes of America, "Real Food" on PBS, and has thrown it down with Food Network's Bobby Flay. He the co-author of The Clinton St. Baking Co. Cookbook and owns the restaurant with his wife and partner, DeDe Lahman, Director of Operations and Global Business.

I was asked on my day off to go with my friends to Clinton St Baking Company. I've heard a lot about the pancakes and I decided to get out of my comfy bed and get ready. Let's just say we aimed to eat at 10am but we didn't actually get seated until 12pm. 2 hours in the cold not so fun.... luckily I had good company. Once we did get seated I was slightly disgusted by the dirty fork that was on the table (chocolate remnants from the last person... not so appetizing) . The waitress was awesome though and got me a new CLEAN fork asap. Also, since we were sitting near the front of the door there were people standing near our table listening to our convo and looking at our food. Another slightly annoying thing was every time the door opened there was a breeze that made it pretty chilly. Not really my thing after standing in the cold for 2 hours waiting. I ordered the hot chocolate with khalua and it was huge and pretty to look at but I think they needed to add in a little more alcohol just to give it that extra kick (maybe its because i'm an alchy but i like to taste the liquor ESPECIALLY if its something I pay extra for). I had chocolate pancakes and an order of sweet and salty bacon. The pancakes were amazing especially with the maple butter. It was ridiculously good and it was melting in my mouth. The sweet and salty bacon however wasn't as good as I would've liked. If I had to choose between the two I would choose the SWEET bacon. That's a really a big thing since I hate sweet salty combo in food. I love salty bacon but when it was brought out it looked weird slightly burned and old and what really killed it was that it didn't really have much taste. I would not recommend wasting your time. You will be waiting to be made fun of at this restaurant. My wife and I have been coming to NYC from Louisiana for 5 years to visit my daughter who lives in Manhattan. We look for all the top rated places to eat each time we come to visit. We have always loved the people and the awesome food all over the city, but we've never been treated so rude as we were the morning of Tuesday March 26, 2013 at this restaurant. Waiting an hour and a half for a table is not a problem for us, but once we got inside we were laughed and gawked at by the two waitresses and the water boy the whole time. All because I asked for a glass of water. If the owner would have been monitoring his servants that day he would have fired these 3 people. It all got started when I asked for a glass of water after the orange juice had been delivered to the table.The italian in me wanted to lash out at these people but I am not about making a scene in a restaurant. The highly rated taste of the pancakes does not reflect the attitude of the servants in this place whatsoever. I was so ready to leave that I could not tell you whether the food was tasty or not. I ended up spending 75 dollars plus a tip for 3 orders of pancakes and orange juice for my wife, daughter and myself. What a huge let down to my daughter who wanted my wife and I to be treated to a place she has been a few times. All of us were telling friends at a social the same night, not to waste your time going to this place. But if you are ok with extremely poor service then go ahead and give it a try. read more

If you haven't been to Clinton street bakery yet, youve missed out on some phenomenal pancakes. But beware!! You will be waiting at least an hour and a half, depending on the day and time you decide to swing by the restaurant. If you can, check into the restaurant so you can get your name on the waiting list, go do whatever else you need to do, and then return back. If you time it just right, you won't need to wait too long to be seated. Ok, onto the food itself! If you read the other reviewers, all you read about are the pancakes and it is no joke! It is definitely worth it! My review is more about the eggs Benedict. The dish was elegantly Prepared, even after we told them to rush the order because of a time constraint I had on my part. They still took the time to make it look just right, so it earned some points with me. The hollandaise sauce was a little salty to my taste but the biscuit and ham cancelled that out real quick. It was a nice balance of sweet and salty. Overall, no complaints from my end. As for my girlfriend, she had the plain pancakes with the maple butter and she still gives it five stars each time she has it! Food wise, it is five stars all the way, but the only complaint would be the wait time. I signed up on the list and waited almost two hours before I got seated. I had to keep checking up on the guy with the list to make sure we didn't get bumped down accidentally. Each time I asked, the wait time got extended another 20 minutes. So once you sign up on the list, let them know you will be waiting outside. :-) read more

I recently visited Clinton Street Baking Company with my cousin, who was visiting from out of town. We decided to try their pancakes, which are often hailed as the "best in NYC." Let me say, they were far from it--these were the worst pancakes I've ever tasted. They were doughy, lacked any flavor complexity, and tasted like plain flour and milk with no hint of vanilla or anything else to elevate them. The blueberry compote was equally disappointing--bland and lacking the distinct sweetness and tartness you'd expect, likely made with out-of-season fruit. We ordered the blueberry pancakes based on the waitress's suggestion after asking for recommendations. Her response? "I don't eat pancakes, but they're popular." I would've appreciated her honesty if she had just said they weren't good because she was absolutely right. In addition to the pancakes, we ordered a side of apple chicken sausage, which had decent flavor but was overly dry. We also tried the chicken and waffles, which were just okay--nothing memorable or worth mentioning. The service didn't help either. It was lackluster, with long wait times for food that ended up being a massive letdown. To make matters worse, the waitress noticed the uneaten pancakes and still charged us for a dish I clearly did not enjoy. Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend this spot for pancakes or anything else based on my visit. There are far better options in NYC that live up to their hype--this is not one of them. read more

With so many enticing options to choose from, it was difficult to decide, but one dish, in particular, stood out--the Latke Eggs Benedict. This dish was an absolute masterpiece. CASH ONLY - did not know this when I went in, and was surprised since they get such good business. Luckily, I had a friend spot me. I put my name down on the NoWait app on Sunday at 11:30, and was seated at 1:30 for a table of 6. I liked the openness of their location - with the windows and bright white them. They get very busy, so it took a while for our server to take our order, but they were accommodating. We got blueberry pancakes and chocolate pancakes ($15 each) to start for the whole table. The majority thought the blueberry pancakes were better, but I'm a chocolate lover! Regardless, the pancakes were very fluffy and moist, and the syrup was a great complement because it wasn't too sweet. My friend and I shared the Southern Breakfast ($14) and the Spanish Scramble ($14). The Spanish Scramble was good - the omelette was super flavorful without being dry, and the hash browns were good but I would've preferred them a little more fried. The Southern Breakfast, I would definitely get again. The cheese grits had a subtle flavor, and went well with the fried green tomatoes. The sugar cured bacon was probably the best bacon I've had, but I definitely wouldn't have been able to finish all of them as it can get too sweet at some point. I would definitely come back here again if I were in the one-mile radius for the No Wait app, and had time on a weekend. read more

I recently visited Clinton St. Baking Co. during their highly anticipated Pancake Month to finally try the famous apple pie pancakes ...and they did not disappoint! Since it's located right in the city, parking can definitely be a challenge. There's no street parking, but thankfully there's a garage close by, which made things much easier. This location is smaller compared to their Clinton St. Baking Company - DUMBO location, and you can definitely feel the difference. It's a tight space, but still cozy and welcoming in its own way. Even though it was packed, the service was impressively fast. The staff kept things moving smoothly, and we didn't feel rushed. Now for the food, absolutely amazing. My husband and I both ordered the same meal: the apple pie pancakes (of course!), eggs with cheese, and chicken sausage. I paired mine with a fresh-squeezed orange juice, while he enjoyed a mimosa. The pancakes were delicious! Fluffy, flavorful, and everything you'd expect from a pancake. I do wish there had been a few more apples in the topping, but honestly, it was still so good that I can't complain much. The bill was very reasonable for the quality and portions we received, especially in NYC. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely continue to be a supporter. I considered giving Clinton Street Baking Company 4 stars because of the subpar hostess job, but I didn't think it was fair to the best fried chicken and pancakes I've ever had! Went here with some co-workers for the first time a few months ago and I've been back two times already with my wife. The fried chicken platter is simply amazing. Delicious, moist, fried-golden and A LOT OF IT. Cole slaw is nothing to gawk about, but still yummy. Pancakes and waffles or crispy and fluffy, a combo rarely seen. The pre-meal biscuits are also to die for - ask for jelly/jam, because it doesn't come with! The only bad part about this restaurant is/was the hostess. Two times I've been here with my wife and her table hierarchy always baffles me. First time we were clearly there before two other couples and both of them got seated before us. When I asked, she said that they were here before us, which was BS. Second time there were again 2 other couples, making a total of 3. Two, 2-person tables opened up and we were all pretty much fighting for who got the tables because she gave them to the first person standing there (not the first person who made reservations). Nevertheless, the food is just too good, and I didn't think it would be right to give it anything less than 5 stars. Will be going back soon. Prices are reasonable. read more

Surely it cant be that good? Why is it so hard to get a lunch reservation? How good can a pancake get? These questions and more were all answered when I visited for a late 3pm lunch (the only reservation for 4 i could get). They were: - yes it can be that good - because the food is so yummy - really damn good Clinton St is nestled in a convenient location in LES, and is constantly bustling with activity as new yorkers scramble to get their quality pancake fix. I came at a sun drenched cold winter day and the clamor with breakfast food smells upon entering was more than inviting. The food, lawd the food was fantastic. Pictures are attached and honestly they dont do the food justice. I dont think anything except going yourself and eating then would really do the experience justice. The pancakes were delightfully fluffy, faintly sweet, and almost crispy on the browned surface, serving as the perfect accompaniment to their maple butter and colorful toppings. The waffle was decadent with the berry jam being a exquisite tart contrast to the sweet cream. The latkes were crispy and dense, delicious with the sourcream + apple sauce. The bloody mary... wasnt mine so i cant speak to it but its pretty. Mid meal i was on resy looking for the next open lunch table. Alas it looks like i will be waiting sometime for that availability. read more

So there' a little backstory to my experience at Clinton St. for brunch: It was after my first night in NYC, where my dear friends decided that marinating my liver in vodka was a splendid idea for my east coast initiation...sooooo I was extremely hungover. The end! My sister and I were the first ones to get to Clinton St., so we were seated promptly by the window, which allowed us to point and laugh at the less fortunate who hit the brunch rush (totally kidding...but we were thinking it). I ordered the Brioche French Toast (caramelized bananas, maple butter, walnuts) and my sister settled for the Spanish Scramble (chorizo, cheese, the usual etc). I wasn't a fan of the French Toast only because the maple butter tasted like orange liqueur--I even had my sober sister attest to this awkward flavor combo. So it wasn't because I wanted to hurl the contents of my stomach out...I swear! The scramble was uninspiring, but good god, the potatoes were a little buttery fluff of heaven that God shat out of his delicate ass; they seriously got 'em potatoes down to a tee. In short, it was nothing out of this world, but the basics were executed well. Get there early to avoid waiting till kingdom come, don't go hungover, and make sure you have a hearty appetite. read more

I've been to the Cliton Baking Company, a couple of times. Once around dinner time, and then around 11am.. There was no wait during the evening hours. Ofcourse there was a wait around 11am. The host said, 1.5 hours "maby even more"...... So, I took the advice of the others and got it to go.. They pack the food up really well... They have their own shopping bags. All together, I got three different items. The French Toast, The Eggwhite omlet, (mushrooms, goat chese) and The blueberry pancakes (ofcourse). I'm not a big fan of French Toast, but it looked really gr8 (I think some1 else postd a pic).... The eggwhite omlet was really good... Fluffy. I was thinking maby, I shouldve asked for additional veggies.. But it was good as is.. The only thing, I thought it had 2 much cheese. (but that's just my preference, I like a very small amount of cheese, and it wasn't overkill, just a tad much 4 me). Now for the blueberry pancakes... CSB is known for their pancakes. They have featured reviews in the restroom. They are that good. I've never had any pancakes that compare. I've had soo many pancakes from diners, and IHOP. But today, I had fluffy, flavorable, pancakes.. I only wish this plce was bigger. And maby add to their dinner menu. read more

I recently dined at Clinton Street Baking Company on a weekday at noon, and my experience was quite satisfying. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and Latke Eggs Benedict, and there were some highlights to my meal. The blueberry pancakes were the perfect texture, with steaming hot, fluffy pancakes that had a soft middle and crispy edges. However, I did find that they could use a tad more flavor and sweetness, as they weren't very sweet aside from the blueberries. I also think the syrup portion was rather small and didn't quite match the generous amount of pancakes served. A bit more syrup would have been perfect. The portion size, in general, was substantial. In fact, I almost couldn't finish the third pancake due to its size. The Latke Eggs Benedict, it was a good dish overall. It featured 2 eggs on smoked salmon and potato pancakes. Once again, the portion size was quite large. The potato pancakes had a taste reminiscent of hash browns, but I would have preferred them to be a bit softer as they were tough to bite. Overall, Clinton Street Baking Company offers a satisfying breakfast experience. With some tweaks to sweetness and texture, it could easily earn 5 stars. read more
