You can either sit at a table and scan the QR code to order, which would have someone bring the food to you or you can order takeout at the counter. We got the strawberry waffle, egg and cheese sandwich with chicken sausage, hashbrowns, carrot cake muffin and orange juice. The egg and cheese sandwich was my favorite. It was very flavorful and the chicken sausage we added to it was delicious. The strawberry waffle was my next favorite, although I felt the strawberry syrup on it tasted artificial if there was too much in one bite. The chantilly cream on top was delicious though. The carrot muffin was ok, it was a pretty standard bakery item. I did not like the hashbrowns at all. Very bland and felt more like a plain baked potato than hashbrown. Very crowded, wait for a seat (though I went with a regular which made it easier). Old-style booths that are tight for those who are tall (or sitting across with someone tall like I was). Their pancakes - excellent, and they often have different flavors. They have a pancake month in February, I think, where they do new flavors all the time, but our visit in April was still good with cherry and whipped creme on crumbles. Good for sharing. Good biscuits w/ butter to start, too. Quick with refills for water and coffee and clearing unused plates. Good bacon, too. Solid breakfast pick but you could wait. Don't get the salad. If you have been to the original spot on Clinton st, adjust your expectations lower for this dumbo outpost. For some reason, on top of the limited selection and quality vs the main location, the food is never quite as hot. Maybe it's the cold plates? I don't know. My suggestion is to stick with the blueberry pancakes. Add scrambled eggs if you are in the mood, but don't expect great (fluffy, hot etc.). If you haven't been to the original location then a few other items on the menu are ok as far as breakfast food goes. Located inside TimeOut Market, you order then seat yourself. I've read reviews that this food-court style Clinton St is a step down from the restaurant, but I have not been to the OG restaurant. Comparison is the thief of joy, and I have no comparison to make lol. I can only speak on their famous blueberry pancakes. It's delicious. I normally only share sweet breakfasts but I demolished my plate solo. The pancakes were fluffy, while the edges had a nice crisp to it! I thought the mixed berry scone and chocolate chip cookie were both pretty bad. In complete fairness, I did walk for about 30 minutes before trying them back in my hotel room, but the scone basically dissolved in the bag and was extremely mushy when I ate it. Eating it fresh might have made it a little better but 30 minutes should not turn a good scone into mush. The cookie was ok but nothing to write home about. I can't believe the wait is 2 hours. I don't think the food here is worth it and would advise against it but luckily I had a reservation. I ordered the blueberry pancakes because the waitress said that they were one of their most popular items on the menu. It tasted fine but nothing to rave about or that's special. Went 2 weeks in a row for pancake month in February to try different flavors. The triple berry with lemon curd was my favorite. When I saw their February flavor specials for pancake month, I immediately knew I had to try the passionfruit and chocolate one. Anything with passionfruit and you got me. These pancakes were the best pancakes I think I have had. Every individual component was delicious on its own and was a beautiful explosion of flavor when combined into single bite. The passionfruit syrup on the plate was pretty tangy and potent, so the whipped cream and maple butter (which is what is served in the sauce cup) were nice counterbalances to it and rounded out the acidity. I also liked the amount of chocolate chunks in the pancake because there weren't that many that wouldve made it overwhelming but you could still get sum chocolate in like every other bite. I also liked the texture, it was light and fluffy and the perimeter had a nice crisp edge. I also really enjoyed the iced mocha. I was pleasantly surprised at how rich the flavor was. It wasn't rich in the sense of heavy but I'm so used to lattes and mochas being disappointingly sour or watery in taste so it was unexpected for this to have such a smooth creamy taste while not being overly sweet. This was my first time coming to this food hall so I was kind worried about the seating situation because I like to be real comfy when eating and didn't wanna be eating outside in the cold or standing up. So, it was nice to see there were large communal tables right in front of the storefront to sit and eat. On my quick trip to NYC, I decided to try this place at the recommendation of a few Yelpers. Upon entry, you'll immediately see tons of culinary options to choose from, so stay focused lol go after the one you're looking for...Clinton St. Baking Company! Upon first arrival, we immediately went into Hunger Games mode in search of empty seatings. The tables very limited and of course, folks who appeared to be finished dining, might sit around longer occupying seats. So, that said, before you order anything, look for a seat or be disappointed searching the area to find something. The menu is breakfast! Think breakfast sweet or breakfast savory and you're in the right spot. With the general Yelp consensus saying "pancake" I went with that. Of course, I'm a bacon baddie so I had to get a side of bacon. My guest ordered a buttermilk waffle and a side of eggs. Blueberry pancakes- $17 for 3 large pancakes in a stack These pancakes were DIVINE! They were crispy around the edges and buttery soft inside. I swear, the pancakes were melting in my mouth before I could get through chewing it and that's okay! They carried the true mark of DELICIOUS and were complimented by sweet blueberries and a delectable syrup! Now get this, I was able to share my pancakes with my guest because the quantity was way too much to enjoy by yourself-but you can try! lol I couldn't make more than half of it so why not share the goodness. These pancakes get my top rating! 10 shiny forks!!!!! Pancake syrup: I'm not sure what this syrup consisted of, but it was enough to get a standalone review. Scrambled eggs- $8 for two eggs any style The scrambled eggs made the breakfast platter complete and were buttery soft and delicious! 9 shiny forks for the way these eggs carried the show by themselves. They could have been eaten with pancakes, waffles, or simply by itself. Beverages: I ordered a plain coffee with oat milk...soy or almond milk folks, we don't get that option here, only oat. The coffee was freshly brewed but my first cup was cold so I had to get a second cup which was perfect. My guest ordered fresh squeezed orange juice. The coffee and juice were $6 each. But again, the size of the item seems a bit off when reviewing the cost. I wish they didn't charge so much for small items. Overall, this place is a bit costly to eat so I would suggest it as a "treat yourself" moment. I loved the pancakes so I highly recommend it. The waffles, good to go but if you want to skip to pancakes, do it! The bacon, meh, for the quantity...I pass. Clinton St Baking Company serves American classic breakfast foods and delivers a great, consistent meal. It is my favorite stop at Time Out Market one, because it opens the earliest and the minions can't wait until noon, and two, we all need more pancakes in our lives. Pancakes are joy. Latkes are love. My love handles are proof of this. They occupy the prime stall in the Empire Stores courtyard, that has outdoor seats and actual sunlight that faces the water. I hate walking through the rest of Time Out because of how narrow the walkways are and how difficult finding a table is, so this location pretty much ensures my undying loyalty until Dumbo is consumed by the rising ocean waves or a diabetes diagnosis, whichever comes first. The food is exceptional. My favorites are the chocolate chunk pancakes and the potato latkes. The special over Labor Day was an amazing peach melba belgian waffle. The coffee and espresso are strong and when you eat in, are actually served in mugs vs paper cups. They also do eggs benedict, biscuit sandwiches, omelets, pastries, and fruit salad. The staff do their best to move the line quickly and call out the wait times before you order. Their biggest cons are 1) no reservations, 2) this location is just as popular as its original location and there WILL be a line that can easily turn a Saturday noon brunch plan into 1pm lunch hangries. Staff also try to turn tables over quickly so that there are places to sit, but expect to hover awkwardly while you're waiting for some tourist to finish that half cup of cold coffee. If you'd like to skip the long lines and don't mind finding your own seat, visit the Time Out Market location. When it gets warm, you can bring your food outside and enjoy the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. The first time I made my visit, it was at 8am on a Saturday which, if you want to avoid crowds, that is the best time! On my second visit, I arrived around 12:30pm and although the line to order was only a 5 minute wait, finding a seat took around 20 minutes. You have to be a ninja when looking for a seat at the Time Out Market; swift and alert haha! Anywho, both visits were 100% worth it. Both times, I ordered the classic pancakes with wild maine blueberry and warm maple butter. BESTTTTTTT pancakes i've ever had! I also ordered the crispy potato pancakes which come with caramelized applesauce and sour cream. JUST GET THEM. SO good. I would skip on the freshly squeezed OJ next time as it was watered down. After hearing about Clinton St baking company for so long, I finally got to try it in DUMBO to avoid the long lines. BLUEBERRY PANCAKES The maple butter was delicious, and the blueberry compote was more tart than I was expecting but done really well, thick and enough to coat the fluffy, thick pancakes you're getting that are nicely grilled and browned. In between the layers of the pancakes seems to be some thyme-flavored component that made it herby and was quite strong (maybe just a touch too strong) as combined with the more tart aspect of the blueberry sauce the overall dish could have been sweeter, surprisingly. But maybe that's a good thing as I wasn't feeling like death after the dish. But I would probs order a different flavor next time. EGG SANDWICH W CHICKEN APPLE SAUSAGE THICK biscuit on the top not sure if I was an odd one out in that regard but the biscuit was fluffy and warm and had a nice crispness to the exterior. Nothing like biscuits in the south but the chicken apple sausage was so delicious and had a mild sweetness to it you would have never guessed it was the healthier alternative to regular sausage. Could have easily fooled me. Egg - fluffy, well cooked, not runny. Cheese- gooey, stretchy. They give you a sauce that is very reminiscent of spicy mayo from sushi spots but you know what, bottle that sh*t up and let me use it as cologne cause honey I used all of it on my sandwich. We love a lil spicy kick and yes it does go on here. Dip the damn biscuit in it too. Would def eat here again!! read more
