Favorite Everything Bagel

Realistically I would give this location 3.5 stars. It wasn't amazing and it wasn't bad. It was good so I'm going to lean towards the 3 star side. We had their signature bagel on everything. I had a few bagels during my NYC visit. This was in the middle and the score says so too. The service was fine. The market is amazing with so many options. At the end of the day you'll probably wish you had gotten food from another place after making your choice. If you ar win the mood for a bagel it won't disappoint but it probably won't blow you away either.

The salmon bagel was sooooo good favorite lox bagel during trip. The toppings with it were so good the red onion and lettuce made it to be honest This is really expensive though like $19 sandwich but they filled the lox to the brimmmm it was a thick layer of fish

I love a good bagel and this was a recommendation from my husband's boss. Service was good, they, have plenty of options, prices seem fair. I think my expectations were set too high because I was told that they blow Goldberg's bagels out of the water. This was not my experience. I had an everything bagel with egg and cheese and it was good, but no where near the best bagel I have ever had. I don't think I would even call it great. However we were really glad we made the trip over to the market place because the views are amazing out front and if we hadn't tried Ess-a-Bagel we would have had fomo.

Oh man, I was so pumped to find this bagel place after hearing about it on Tik Tok. I was fully prepared to see a long line but this location is inside of an enclosed street market and I went right when it opened, so there was only like one or two people around. I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese because I wanted a good NY bagel while visiting and Ess-A-Bagel delivered! I especially loved the generous helping of cream cheese-- I hate when places skimp out. The latte I ordered was also a great boost to start my day. Definitely recommend this place!

I'm a guy from Long Island, what the hell do I know about getting good bagels in the boroughs? I consider myself like Kung Fu, I travel the land and try the best regional specialties. Ess-a-bagel is one of my top five bagels in NYC. To have them located in The Time Out Market is awesome. I have my wife with me, I could have drove to Russ & Daughters for a quality bagel but I want to sit and sip some hot coffee and enjoy breakfast. Ess-a-bagel Brooklyn here we come. It's early in the morning and I find a parking spot close to the market, yay! We place our order for the Signature Favorite bagel. I asked for the bagel to be toasted and watched them create the signature which is stuffed with Nova Lox, Scallion Cream Cheese, Crispy Bacon, Avocado, Red Onion, Capers, Lettuce and Tomato. When I ordered, my wife said no to Bacon, Avocado and Red Onions thankyouverymuch. This is the Time Out market, there are communal tables for everyone to sit and enjoy their purchases. The toast on the bagel wasn't toasted at all and the bagel was a little doughy for my personal taste. But all is forgiven when they added the Nova Lox, Scallion Cream Cheese and Capers. Capers?! Yesssss.. This was an added treat, that salty pop made this a bagel treat fun to eat. Ess-a, thanks for making a good Bagel & Lox.

Ess-a-Bagel Wanted to check out Brooklyn and their Time-Out Market today. Haven't had a bagel during my stay in NY yet so I gave this place a try. I got their Signature Favorite: Nova Lox, Scallion Cream Cheese, Crispy Bacon, Avocado, Red Onion, Capers, Lettuce and Tomato (17.95). It was okay, wasn't anything special in particular. I was a bit disappointed, hoping the bagel would've taste more fresh. This market place was probably not the best place to look for an authentic bagel experience

This was a great experience after Brooklyn bridge, sitting down to a lovely bagel. Highly recommend and great service

Morning Classic

Got the morning classic bagel - really nice and lovely staff, would go again. Loads of seating area too which was great

I didn't realize it was in a food court before I went. At 8am on Sunday, it was pretty empty and the lines were short (about 5 people waiting to order before us), but the bagel wasn't particularly fresh. I found it chewy and tough, unfortunately.

The bagel here was absolutely delicious, but since I'm from Florida, I think that of all New York bagels! They messed up our order, giving my mom lettuce instead of tomato on hers, and switching which sandwich was on which type of bagel. The service was fine otherwise, but not very accurate. The ambiance is nice but a little overwhelming since it is in a food hall.

Best bagels around. Super filling and soft. So many options it'd take over a year to try them all but we have 2 down. Regular cream cheese and burger. Service was super quick and easy to see why there's almost always a line. Ambiance is cute but I'd rather eat it somewhere else as it can get quite packed.

Dang should've read the other reviews before I ordered from here. The service was rude. They claimed they couldn't see the screen when I pointed to the item on the menu (they could've have just leaned over the counter to see the screen). They gave a buzzer to pick up the order but never rang it, so after 10 minutes of waiting I decided to check on my order and found it waiting on the counter. The lox bagel itself was ok. It had too much cream cheese and was overly salty. That being said, it's hard to go wrong with a lox bagel so overall it still a solid lox bagel if you're in the mood for one. The restaurant stall area itself is fine. It is in the middle of the Time Out Market so there are a lot people, but we managed to find a table nearby. It is a bit loud because there are a lot of people, but that is to be expected.

Carolina R.

We went to TimeOut Market and thought this was the perfect time to have an NY bagel since I had not had one on my trip. I've heard Ess-a-Bagel is good and I was impressed. I got their lox bagel and a coffee which all came out to around $24 which is a lot for a bagel but also bet that is how much they usually are. Overall I enjoyed the bagel and it was hefty. The coffee was just okay. I heard that Ess-a-bagel usually has long lines but this location didn't which was great!

This was my first time seeing one with roasted duck though. Just a heads up that the street felt a bit sketchy even though it's near the edge of Chinatown. We were unfortunately harassed by someone outside of the store and ended up giving him a few dollar bills... *Chinese Sausage Mala Wrap $10 ** The lap cheong was spread so evenly throughout that I got some in almost every bite. The mala aioli was quite spicy, but not overpowering or lingering. The crispy shallots added such a nice crunch too which I loved! *Duck Tsangwich $16 I was quite surprised that the roast duck skin stayed crispy! The crackly cookie topping could've been thicker since it was pretty flat. They give you chili oil on the side, but it was already super flavorful with the hoisin sauce. Only thing I wished for was more cucumber and scallion to help balance out the richness.

((4.5 stars)) Sunny…read moreand Annie's is very much a 24/7 neighborhood gem of a corner store and deli. it's packed with packaged foods--candy, chips, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, beer, and a lot more plus the deli counter serves ups an endless list of creative sandwiches. i am not going to say this place is cramped but it kinda is. for example, if people stand in the wrong areas of the store, it will cause a complete standstill of a traffic jam in the store. my advice: order from the deli (and stand somewhere people aren't trying to get to) or grab whatever you need, pay, and leave. this place is not a place to linger. keep it moving. anyway, the obvious draw of Sunny & Annie's is the endless list of sandwiches that are handwritten cards that are stuck outside glass of the deli counter. there is literally something for the pickiest eaters--from hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, wraps, and more. some sandwiches are named celebrities, politicians, etc. i have ordered a bunch of different sandwiches and have not made it through much of the menu. you can also create your own Frankenstein monster of a sandwich. while the sandwiches are a big part of the draw, the insane amount of snack foods crammed into the store is quite remarkable from the large stand of Doritos, Takis, Cheetos and other popular branded snack foods in the front to the separate stand of Wise snacks to an entire back corner of the store filled with all kinds of chips, popcorn, etc. imo, Sunny's has the freshest-tasting Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. i know an insane take consider it's a packaged popcorn snack from a megacorp (PepsiCo), but i'll die on this hill. maybe it's cause Sunny's sells a lot of Smartfood popcorn so it gets refreshed often, maybe they have a secret in/pipelinbe from the factory, or it's just magic/alchemy. i don't know, but the Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn never tastes stale-ish like it does at grocery stores, the bags never feel deflated because they have been on shelf long, and the popcorn never has that soft mouthy feel but still has the crunch to it. maybe it's just me, but Sunny's serves a great list of sandwiches...AND the freshest Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. beyond the snacks, the service from the deli to cashier is upbeat and friendly. in all seriousness, Sunny and Annie's is an Avenue B institution at this point and remains a charming family-owned store--and is NOT a sterile modern clone of a neighborhood business.

Ever since my husband introduced me to this place almost a decade ago, I've been in love with their sandwiches. The chicken parm is definitely my favorite because there's nothing better than a hot sandwich on a cold day. Their chicken cutlet portions are always generous. We usually have them cut our sandwiches into quarters because we like to order a few different ones to share, such as the chicken parm and the Italian combo. We used to get them on their round semolina bread which was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately they don't make the round semolina anymore. If you want a sandwich that earns your loyalty over decades, Parisi Bakery & Deli is that place…read more I've been eating sandwiches here for as long as I can remember, and the remarkable thing is how nothing has slipped--not the quality, not the care, not the magic. Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
