    Grilled oyster - happy hour
    Benjamin C.

Went out for a date night on a rainy Wednesday evening for some Cajun! Service was friendly and attentive. Pretty casual setting. Ordered the grilled oysters, deviled eggs, crawfish queso, and large seafood gumbo to eat. They had one beer option - bottle of Stella - $5 happy hour, and spouse chose the bayou mamba adult capri sun, which she enjoyed. I'd say this place surpassed some modest expectations. I'd definitely go again for the queso and gumbo! Oysters were good. Eggs were enjoyable but nothing special. A pleasant surprise! Good to have the option relatively close to home.

Overall I like Claw Daddy's but idk what happened with my delivery order. From grub hub I got the seafood file gumbo, creole jambalaya and an order of southern chicken wings. My issue was with the wings. No flavor and I didn't like seeing the feathers on the wings. Yuck.

I went to Claw Daddy's with a friend for an early dinner, and we enjoyed the food overall! The boudin balls and popcorn crawfish were delicious, and I tried the freshly shucked oysters, which were decent but not standout. The adult Capri Sun (an alcoholic drink in a pouch) was fun, and my friend liked his gumbo and a beer. The space is large and comfortable, though the service was just okay. As someone with family in Southern Louisiana, I think Claw Daddy's is one of the better southern spots in the area, but it could use a bit more authentic Southern hospitality. Little touches like checking in more often, a warm greeting, or complimentary small bites (like hush puppies) would definitely enhance authentic southern experience and help keep customers engaged and returning for more.

Great happy hour spot by a lot of different train stations on Atlantic avenue. The drinks are soju based only, which we didn't know. I had one pouch and felt surprisingly buzzed. We shared the chicken wings which were crispy and very seasoned. The raw oysters were good. I would probably get more raw oysters than the grilled ones. The grilled clams were better than the grilled oysters as well. The sweet potato fries were thick and crunchy. I would come back again.

Love their grilled oysters. The lobster combo boil is amazing. Make sure you get the adult capris.

Had no problem walking in without an rsvp and being seated around 8pm on a Saturday. Service was slow for a Saturday night and the boil was tasty but something was missing to give it that UMPH factor. I got a coconut pineapple mojito in a pouch which was just "ehh" tasted more like juice and had a lot of ice in it.

We came here one day to try their happy hour at extremely low prices! Upon entering it was quite busy so they sat us in the back near the bar which was a lot more quieter than the front. We paid $1.50 for each oyster and $2 for the grilled ones and $1 per chicken wings! Since I was on an alcohol cleanse I ordered the Louisiana unsweetened tea but it was quite expensive and only for a normal iced tea... I felt like I'm definitely gonna pass on this one next time. It was strong enough but I could probably make this at home, ngl. The oysters were fresh and tasted fine... the real winner of this place is actually the grilled oysters. Those were worth every penny! Along with the chicken wings! The chicken wings were super crispy but not in a thick breaded way which is exactly what I like! Since I live super close to this place I would totally come back again to try their other dishes but I really love how affordable the happy hour is so I would probably come just for the grilled oysters and the chicken wings and definitely for a drink next time when I'm off my alcohol cleanse!

Happy hour is the main reason why we stopped here. $1.50 oysters and $1 wings sounded like a steal and the taste was pretty good. The boil sauce was very good and everything was tasty. I would say they should probably add a waiter or two, as it did look like only 2 waiters were on staff.

I thoroughly enjoy eating at Claw Daddy's. My cousin put me on to this place because of the grilled oysters! That's the ONLY way I'll eat them now!

We went to Claw Daddy's to celebrate a birthday. Ambiance: I want to start out by saying that their music playlist is fire. Lol. The place has two areas, one for sitting down to eat and the other is the bar area. The ambiance in the sitting area is comfortable enough for families and friends to enjoy. Food: the food was ok, it wasn't out of the ballpark good, but it was good enough that I wouldn't mind going back for happy hour oysters and drinks. The service was ok as well. They were very nice but they were not on top of their game. They forgot a few things, we had to let them know a few times, and in the end we just took the "L" and ate the boil without the nutcracker (I googled it...the tool to crack lobster and crab is known as a nutcracker...lol). Overall, I think the experience was ok. It's good for families but the prices are typical nyc prices on the high side. So I recommend it to people who want a quick bite and drinks for happy hour.

I had high expectations for this place as I've been wanting to try it for a while. We came for their happy hour, which online says it's all day on Tuesday and until 7:30 on all other days. However, when we arrived on a Tuesday, it seems like they changed their policies and it did indeed end on 7:30. We ordered the raw oysters, the wings, and the grilled clams. The food took quite a while to come out, so we weren't able to order more before the happy hour ended. The raw oysters were probably the worst oysters I've ever had. They were between room temperature and warm, despite being on a bed of ice so I'm guessing they were sitting out for a while. With one taste, I knew these were definitely not fresh. They were very fishy and tasted old. Some of them also looked a bit strange. My friend and I were genuinely worried that we'd get food poisoning from them. The grilled clams were slightly better, but still quite small for what you get. They were covered in a butter Parmesan sauce, but I wish they were saucier and juicier. They were pretty average in my opinion. The redeeming part of the meal were the wings, as they were perfectly crispy and seasoned. They came with ranch sauce and they had a lot of meat on the bones and were still juicy. I wish we skipped the seafood all together and just ordered more wings. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back. The seafood was not fresh at all and I felt queasy afterwards. Not worth the risk!

Came here right before a show at BAM for their happy hour deal, which is absolutely excellent! $1.50 for oysters, $2 for grilled oysters and $1 chicken wings (which we didn't have this time) plus some drink specials too. Everything tasted fresh and delicious - I'm not usually a fan of grilled oysters but I felt like I could eat a dozen of these on my own. We also got a lobster roll and cajun fries, both of which I remember fondly. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed (maybe there weren't enough of them for the night?) but they still got our food out, joked around a bit with us, and rushed our last dish to us in a takeout container when we told them we really needed to make our show. Will definitely go back again when I have more time to leisurely enjoy them.

After work vibes and celebrating 19 & 22 years working for New York City! The staff were very warm and nice. From the front door to being seated and served was wholesome. It was a very cold night and the restaurant was warm and cozy. It was busy too! Esmeralda was such a delight and Jose complemented the service team very well. The shareable appetizers were delicious, from the grilled oysters to the crawfish Queso dip with tortilla chips. The grilled oysters was deliciously mouthwatering and I wanted more lol. The have a special that ends at 7:30pm daily so check them out. The Queso dip had crawfish bits in it and it was a delight to the mouth, very tasty and we added a mild hot sauce to it. Simply yum! We enjoyed the pasta dishes with shrimps and crawfish. I had the pastalaya with shrimp and crawfish and my company had the linguine with shrimp and crawfish. The cream was nice and tasty but heavy. We couldn't finish it and we packed them to go home. We both had mock tails and it was okay. I checked in with yelp and got a free side order! Yay! So we tried the garlic pasta. It was nice and more like a "a night out with carbs" lol We will definite return for the delightful service and sweet, tasty and delicious food! I'm trying something from the boil menu next time! Check them out and they have a location in the city too!

My friend and I opted to share a few different dishes, which in order from favorite to least were as follows: - Risotto: the risotto was cooked pretty well and was creamy. You eat them whole and can dip into the yuzu mayo which is a fun experience. - Amberjack: a light and refreshing crudo that's worth ordering if you're in the mood, but not a must - Whipped mackerel: the bread was good and nicely toasted and the whipped mackerel had a lovely flavor. Would order this again. - Cod Pot Pie: I love the idea of this one and with the sauce it was pretty good, however the cod pot pie was on the dry side. Without the sauce it would've been a miss. My only gripe. There were only 3 Shrimp in the whole dish. If you offer half and half, truly make it half and half. Sesame wings- sticky and sweet. Nicely seasoned and prepared. Shrimp scampi- tasty and juicy. Very fresh and deelish!! Butternut squash soup- very good and silky. Brussel sprouts- not pictured or on the menu but, they came out nice and toasty. I also ordered a Tito's and club soda from the bar. I appreciated the un-flat club soda. Our server Ilia G was very knowledgable and charismatic. Our food came out in great time. Price points were decent. I'd definitely stop in again!

Great ambience and this will be a great place to have a date or intimate dinner with close friends…read moreand loved ones. My server was very attentive throughout the entire dinner without being overbearing. I wanted to mention her name but unfortunately misplaced my receipt. I love the fact that when I chose the calamari, that they do have the tentacles as well, and not just the rings. For Peaches Prime to meet that one thing was a BIG PLUS to me for a restaurant that looks a little bit more upscale. But the icing on the cake was the fact that I was able to ask for more calamari with the tentacles in less rings so for me that is a win! The drink glasses are quite small like most upscale restaurants are so by the time you put ice in a cup you don't have that much to drink. I ordered shrimp and grits and it has kale in it with mushrooms and the flavor profile was good, but it's not like a southern profile for grits. A southern flavor profile is more rich and hearty. It was good, but the grits were on the runny side. I was provided a fork. I thought it was a small joke at first. You 100% require a spoon and fork with the shrimp and grits. You need a fork for the shrimp and to remove the tails using your butter knife, but to eat the dish you need a spoon. I like the fact that the kitchen did have a little kick of spices. One thing that is always underrated when you go out to eat at a restaurant anywhere in the world, but especially in North America even in Canada, is that food usually comes out to your table warm not hot. But the food came out piping hot and I love that fact. So that's ANOTHER WIN!! They have non-gender restrooms. They were very clean. The hallway that leads to the restrooms seem to be in a different restaurant. I wanted dessert, but I didn't have the room for it after my delicious meal. I definitely will be back but it's not a restaurant that I can come to every week or else. It's not gonna be good for my diet. I would eat too much!

We were able to get a reservation here for 530 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy. I…read morereally liked the layout with the green tables and booths. The long mirrors on the walls made the space feel bigger and taller as well. First and foremost, I'm giving this place a 5 for the service as they really went above and beyond. It was not the occasional stop by to refill water and grab dirty plates. Our waiter provided great recommendations and offered me a small sample of a wine I had heard him recommend to another table after I had already ordered my orange wine. In terms of food, the bluefin tuna special was very fresh. We enjoyed the hush puppies and the swordfish belly. The fry basket had thin rectangularly shaped fries which were amazing. The only thing is I wish it came with more than two pieces of shrimp and two pieces of fish. The chargrilled oysters were also very good. Lastly they offered free bread pudding which was a perfect way to end the night.

Pardon my late review... rewind to restaurant week and enjoying the company of my two sweet aunts…read more(they are lowkey baddies) and an evening dinner at Strange Delight. I selected the restaurant but was so engrossed in life, I didn't realize it was restaurant week. SD put together a really nice menu and I already knew what I wanted, which usually takes me a lot of time to decide, but the Sweet Baddies decided to order everything on the restaurant week menu for us to share! So, I am going to give a brief (real brief) of each. I'm going to start with the drinks because they were superior. I ordered a French 76, which was sublime. Raw oysters with a mignonette- good for a first time eating a raw oyster; Steamed shrimp- big, fresh and delicious; Grilled oysters- yummy but a little skimpy; Smoked trout Fish dip- my favorite and because we all loved it, we discussed replicating it at home and which brand of tinned fish was best Chinese broccoli salad- was okay; Hush puppies- the aunts liked. I'm not a fan so I skipped; Fry basket- delicious; Shrimp loaf- delicious, but not $25 delicious; There were some more dishes that were not as memorable but good. For return visit, I would definitely order drinks and smoked trout dip. Because they seem to update their menu, who knows what the main would be... Nevertheless, service was impeccable, the ambience was really chill and had a sexy vibe. although the place was full and really busy, it didn't seem that loud.
