Amazing first experience!! My rolls were the lemon icing with raspberries topping, caramel icing with graham crackers,and strawberries, and my partner had cream cheese with strawberries. Everything is vegan and super yum and fresh. I'd suggest when pouring icIng that they focus a little more on getting it on to the actual roll, mine was mostly on the sides. There was a long line, but they were methodical in moving people in and through quickly. Well-oiled machine functionality on only their second day, when I went. I cannot wait to continue coming and trying all the combinations. Great location for those of us in the W. Cary/Morrisville area. Parking is a little difficult in the Parkside area, but again for vegan cinnamon rolls I don't even care. If you have a super tooth, I definitely suggest visiting Cinnaholic. The store was small and abided with COVID rules with a certain amount of customers allowed in the store. I got the cookie monster cinnamon roll and a custom cinnamon roll (brownies, marshmallow, and brownie fudge). I'm a really big fan of cookie dough, so this is a must have! They also sell cookie dough alone-- I'll have to try that. Although my cookie monster roll was fantastic, the custom cinnamon roll tasted a little raw and "doughy". I was a bit disappointed that the brownie toppings did not seem fresh and were tough to chew. I've been wanting to try out Cinnaholic since they opened and today was the day. Its located is a great area with many other stores and restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. He literally ask us what frosting and topping, but he did not specifically say on what like the bun or the cookie dough. My experience here wasn't great. Was told there'd be a 10-minute wait as I ordered, which was fine, but it turned out to be more like 30-minutes. They seemed really backed up and rushing, which led to all the frosting being put on a piping hot bun, causing it to mostly run off onto the floor of the box instead of staying on the bun. The buns also seem like they were yanked out of the oven a bit early as the staff rushed out orders (unless they're not supposed to be soft?). Overall, the flavors are there and I can imagine how amazing it would be if it wasn't a complete shitshow rush job (not putting it on workers, they were busting their tails - likely overwhelmed and mismanaged). I'll probably wait a bit before trying it again to let them get their act together, and I'll definitely go at an off-peak time. But if the manager lies about the wait time again and just hands me a card for a free bun 25 mins later instead of discounting my current order or tossing a free brownie in or something, I'd have to say the overall product just wouldn't be worth it. read more

My friend I came into Cinnaholic last Saturday afternoon with much anticipated excitement. The place was nicely decorated with lots of beautiful colors and delicious smells coming from the kitchen. We took lots of pictures of the food on the display as we always do when we visit new establishments. The place was not very busy with only about 3 couples ahead of us. There were two teenage young ladies working in the back taking orders and assembling products, at least that all that we saw in the front service area. The one young lady seemed a bit overwhelmed and a tad bit snippy. We waited for about 10 minutes in line before we were acknowledged. At this point we felt like the wait was excessive so we decided to leave and maybe come back another day. Cinnaholic is a franchise that came from Berkeley, California and has now made its way over to the east coast and has set up shop in Cary, North Carolina. The grand opening of the bakery was today, 1/10/2020 and the line was about 25 deep at 930 (doors open at 10am), however come closer to 10am, the line was closer to 75-100 people deep (all the way to the far corner near Brixx pizzeria) Staff members walked around outside offering free samples to the customers who were in line waiting including a sample of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (which was very tasty). These were sold in containers inside the store for approximately $5.00 for an 8oz container). Once inside, there was a plethora of different Cinnamon bun options including the standard (w/ icing), to pre-developed ones, such as the cookie monster (Edible cookie dough, cream cheese frosting, chocolate chips and chocolate syrup), as well as some local ones (blue devil - cream cheese icing, blueberries and oreo cookies); Tarheel Roll and a WolfPack Roll. The first one I tried was the Cookie Monster cinnamon bun. When packaged up, the rolls are warm, so after adding the toppings to them, the icing tends to melt and everything shifts. The icing was amazingly tasty. Not overly powerful from the sugar taste, but tasteful. The cookie dough was a nice addition, as were the chips. The bun itself seemed a little dry, therefore taking off a star. A big bonus to the facility is that the staff was genuinely nice and able / willing to help. Explaining the different items within the available specials. The staff members who worked at the cashier were just handling the cash / cards, and were sanitary about it (didn't handle any foods). They passed the boxes onto the 'pass' crew, who handled the different requests. If they had to move off that station, they changed gloves. If they handled items with peanuts, they changed gloves. (was very impressed by that) Opinion - I think that if they are doing to-go orders and people will eat them later, or reheat them at a later time themselves, they should have some room temperature buns to ice and serve. By providing the buns hot with the toppings, by the time you open them up and are ready to eat them, the toppings all shift and its just piled up on the side. In addition, when labeling the items on the box, to put what they are. instead of their 'coding', so that the patrons (such as myself) would be able to see and remember what we ordered for future meals. Overall, the place looks like they will have some great success, as they are one of the few fully vegan bakeries in the area. Would love to see them expand from just cinnamon buns into other bakery items in the future (maybe whoopie pies), but for what they do, they are doing a great job at providing a fully vegan experience to the community. Also, as the line was long, will hope to visit another time with a notion of what i want in mind. With so many different options available (frosting flavors) and toppings, to make a good choice may take some time. My husband and I are participating in Veganuary and as soon as I saw these on Instagram I knew we would have to make the trip to Cary! We came by mid-morning on a Sunday and we're able to walk right in and take a look at the menu. The employee working the register asked if it was our first time and gave us a rundown on how things worked. You can choose either a pre-made combination of frosting and toppings or create your own. Since we drove all this way, we decided it made the most sense to get two rolls per person, definitely didn't want to regret not getting a certain flavor ;-). I ended up getting the Old Skool and a create your own. The old skool is just a classic cinnamon roll with plain frosting. My create your own I went with coffee flavored frosting and peanut butter cups. Yum yum yum! We headed back to the car with our warm rolls and dug in! You honestly can't tell the difference between these rolls and a non-vegan version. It was a totally delicious sugar bomb in my mouth, however with nothing else in my stomach, I couldn't get through a whole roll because of the amount of sugar. I saved my second roll and my husband and I ended up heating it up in our toaster oven and splitting it a few days later. Cinnaholic definitely isn't going crazy with the advertising of being plant based and vegan, which I understand would unfortunately drive away customers, I get it.
