I also got two macaroons, the lemon Poppyseed and the Violet Greek Yogurt. The lemon one was sweet and tart and the violet one had almost like a floral taste both were great! I was in the area and needed a place to hang at for a little bit so decided to go to lucettegrace. I appreciated the ambiance: it was casual, lots of sunlight and seating, very open. But I felt like their pastry and drink selection seemed a little limited (there weren't many syrup options either). I decided to just get an iced vanilla latte, which was admittedly tasty and pretty classic. It's located downtown near the court house and I overheard some Josh stein for governor staff next to me talking about the campaign--so Lucettegrace passes the vibe check! Fresh full flavored menu items are made from scratch. The croissant was buttery and flaky to the taste paired with the curry chicken salad made this light snack amazing. Team was very friendly and answered our questions in regards to the menu items and the flavor spectrum. Paid Parking is nearby, but limited during peek traffic hours. Came here off a heavy recommendation while downtown Raleigh. Considering it was cold out, coming to a local coffee shop was just what we wanted. You can view to accompanying photos to see the inside, it's really tasteful and the ambiance is calm and chill. We noticed the cleanliness of this establishment is top notch (including the bathrooms). Service was great, just one worker behind the counter but she was able to keep up. She was so friendly and helped us with ordering what we were in the mood for. I got the Lucettegrace HOT coffee which is two espresso shots with steamed condensed milk. This is exactly what I was looking for and one of the best sweet hot coffee drinks I've had. We also got a chai tea latte which was absolutely delicious. Now on top of the bomb drink experience we got a pastry which I forgot the name of however what was awesome was that the girl ended up giving us a free baklava croissant. On a quiet but rainy Sunday morning I was given a few hours to myself to go around a city I live fifteen minutes from yet still find myself a tourist in. Looking for any sort of cup of coffee to start the day I took the path less traveled, be it an accident or intention, I consider it fate. Tucked into the wall of an old and worn building lies Lucettegrace, a diamond (along with a few others) in a rhinestone world. As I walked up the stairs and met the horizon line that was the counter, I was greeted warmly. Smiles, a hello, and a how are you. Hospitality staples that are disingenuous at what's even considered the best of places, but authentic here. I ordered a latte (to-go) and waited patiently in an alive but calm dining room. It was no more than two or three minutes I waited until the coffee was brought to me, and I was wished well on my way. There I left the quiet French cafe, enlightened with hospitality and sipping a perfectly done latte. The coffee is refreshing, not densely sweet, and a perfect temperature (all subjective but that is the nature of these sort of things). I encourage one with some time on their hands to take this walk away from what's considered "bustling" Raleigh, and enjoy some quiet time in what I believe is a staple of the city. read more

So glad we found this bakery. The menu is small but it's obvious that the food is all perfect quality. We wanted the Italian sandwich but unfortunately they were out. We got the mushroom croissant instead. My friend doesn't like mushrooms and really enjoyed it! That says a lot! The croissant was flakey and the stuffing was perfectly seasoned. I asked if they do catering the second time I went and she told me to go to the website (she didn't say yes, we cater, but instead referred me to the website to find an answer, I'd have no issue if there was a language or cultural barrier but this was just a plan unfriendly white american woman. It's a cute contemporary space in downtown Raleigh with a showcase of beautifully executed desserts along with coffee, tea, and non-caffeinated drinks for the normal people ;P I can't remember the names of all of the desserts we tried, but the purple one with the blueberries on top was our group's favorite! I had heard about this place from someone and so I decided to stop by on my way through. Super cute bakery in downtown Raleigh. We went in the later afternoon solely for desserts and coffee but they have a variety of baked goods and sandwiches offered for breakfast/lunch as well. Super cute cafe, but the pastries were just not good. We got a tiramisu, carrot cake (super yuck), and a chocolate dessert. I forgot what it was called but that was the only good thing. The carrot cake was nasty, I feel like it's been in the case forever, the frosting lacked body and the tang of the cream cheese, the cake part was bland and had a weird flavor to it. I'm glad I didn't get the macarons because if they were the same quality as the carrot cake I probably would have cried I didn't try any of the food or drink so I can't comment on that. read more

Full disclosure: I came here a few days after I got home from a trip to France, so my taste buds had been spoiled for a week. I was disappointed in the texture of the almond croissant, and it was slightly overcooked...I'm actually surprised they could sell the one I got because it had black burnt edges. Amazing, unique desserts! Stopped here on a weekday afternoon while downtown. There was one customer dining in and no line. They took our order right away and answered our questions. Only about a minute after we placed the order, they brought it out. Everything was accurate and tasted better than expected. We ordered: Baklava Croissant - flavor and texture was absolutely amazing! The flaky croissant was filled with delicious baklava. It is dense and filling so it lasted multiple meals. Cheese Danish - good flavor, exactly what we wanted Queen Cake - we purchased the whole cake since it sounded and looked unique. The flaky pastry is full of baklava and raspberry and rose flavors. I definitely wanted to eat multiple slices, but I practiced self control and slowly savored one slice. I am now looking forward to eating the rest! Birthday Macaron - perfect texture and level of sweetness. Often macarons are overly sweet, but not these! Plus they have a faint birthday cake flavor. Iced Coffee - interesting flavor. Oh my word! Just discovered this sweet spot today and had some of their pastries and cafe mocha with oat milk. The Cafe mocha was perfect! And my friends recommended that they have the best koign amman (which i never had before) which is a butter pastry originally created in Brittany, France. I am in love!
