Interior is pop-sugar cute, and the vibe is definitely right for a trendy soft-serve place. I just was not all that impressed with my ice cream. I had a chocolate soft serve creation with pretzels and caramel on one of their homemade waffle cones. To me, the ice cream tasted a bit off, with an almost sour note. Waffle cone was great. Service was great. I'll definitely go back, and see if maybe what I had was just a bit off. read more

Love love this ice cream shop that is connected and owned by Lloyds. The churros they put with the ice cream is obviously delicious. Their soft serve is very creamy and they have a great unique variety of sundays and cones. Will definitley be back to be able to try all the different menu options. They homemake their cones and have ice cream sandwiches freshly made in the freezer as well. read more

Churn is absolutely a must if you are on Hertel ! The building is cute and bright and the staff was very friendly. I tried a regular sized (which honestly was a bit too much for me) of The Samoan. It's vegan coconut ice cream which chunks of coconut, short bread cookies and chocolate throughout, then topped with more coconut, chocolate and caramel sauce. It was absolutely delicious. It was fresh tasting and had a lot of flavors and textures. I will 100% be stopping by again to try some other treats. read more

I've been waiting in anticipation of Churn's opening. I made it in to try the yelp special. It was a carrot upside down cake ice cream with a waffle cone. I'm a the fan of carrot cake so I was very exited. The ice cream was so good, better than I was expecting honestly. I was also so impressed by the waffle cone, I'm not usually big into waffle cones but this one was delicious. I looked into the other options they had on the menu and while there are not a crazy amount of options what they do have looks amazing. They have a lot of creative choices. They also have a secret flavour of the week which is so cool. Now I'll be tempted to come weekly to see what it will be! read more

Churn is the perfect treat after Lloyd's or after walking around Hertel. It is a bit spendy, but I've never been disappointed with the sundaes. Their monthly specials are always fun and delicious. Vegan options are available as well as coffee drinks. read more

Google said this place closed at 11. I went on the website and a notification popped up saying it closed at 9. Okay, no problem. I get there before they closed and I'm literally in line for 2 minutes before an employee screams out that they close at 9 and the last customers they would serve, are the people in front of me. Awesome. I drove 25 minutes to get there only to be told they won't serve me. Update your google hours. read more

I went to Churn with my friends on a Tuesday night and we all loved what we got. I got the special of the week which was carrot cake. It was delicious! I definitely recommend getting anything here, it all looks so good! Where Churn lost a star is with their customer service and store layout. If you are participating in the Yelp specials, make sure your employees know what that is, especially if you have a sign right in front of the register advertising the Yelp special! Also, with there only being one person taking orders, it can lead to some long lines. I suggest looking at getting a bigger space for next summer so that you can have space for 2+ registers and for people to sit and enjoy their ice cream. read more

This is an update of a review from the spring. We went back on another cold day. This time we were the only customers in the shop. I got a curated Take 6 cone in a dish - chocolate soft serve with pretzels, caramel, and peanuts. The ice cream was way better this time. My earlier visit I was disappointed with the icy texture and watered down flavor. All better now! Perfectly smooth and chocolatey. My friend got a pumpkin churned up. She liked it. She noted the menu said it had chocolate but the server pointed out it was actually nuts - why not change the menu? In any event, I'm glad I gave Churn another chance. It can't hurt to have more good ice cream in town :) read more

On a very warm Sunday afternoon, we decided to check out Churn on Hertel as we kept hearing about this great ice cream venue that people stand in line for the BEST ice cream. Ice cream that is made from grass fed Ithaca milk with natural processing - no artificial colorings, flavors or stabilizers! Wow - healthy ice cream - a dream! We were lucky not to encounter a long line as we have heard the lines are typical in the evening. A welcoming entry, bright and cheerful, we encountered really cheerful Churn team member as we placed our orders: The Billionaire - twist soft serve, chocolate dip, hazelnuts, Nutella, wafer bits and golden pearl @ $3.69 small size - perfect portion size - beautifully presented AND The Samoan - coconut soft serve, toasted coconut, shortbread, chocolate chips, caramel sauce (vegan) @ $5.29 small size - perfect portion size. We decided to enjoy our ice cream alfresco in one of several wrought iron tables directly to the left of entry point. Although it is easy to visually describe our selections as "stunning", it is not as easy to describe the flavors of our ice cream selections - I don't know if there are words to do so. In summary, if you are looking for REALLY GOOD ICE CREAM with unique presentations and flavors - Churn is your best option read more

I tried the unbirthday with green tea soft serve. Presentation was amazing. This was served with a macarón, a mini cupcakes, and plenty of colorful sprinkles. My three year old LOVED it. I also loved it. I didn't like the mini cupcake alone. The cake was a little dry or maybe slightly stale, and they used buttercream which I do not like and it was not sweet enough for me. But the fact they have green tea soft serve and unique sprinkles is enough to get me to come back. A regular cone is about $3 and this treat that I had was about $7. read more

Stopped in on a cool Tuesday afternoon during the summer, and we were able to walk right up and order. There was a slight mix-up with our order so I was able to try two of their different specialty Blizzard-type concoctions (The Mint Condition, and The Cookie Monsta) for the price of one. The main attraction here is obviously the soft serve. Honestly I was expecting something totally different from the norm, but yet the custard was just a higher quality slightly more creamy standard custard you could get at most ice cream stands. The Cookie Monsta was chucked full of a variety of tasty cookie pieces, this was very good but VERY sweet. The Mint Condition was my personal favorite from the experiences. There are actual pieces of finely diced fresh mint in this that make it truly refreshing, unique, and delicious. The space itself is open, bright, and gives off positive vibes while you enjoy your frozen treat of choice. The price of the products may be a bit steep for budget minded consumers, but you certainly get what you pay for. read more

I was so excited to give Churn Soft Serve a try that I decided to break my "no ice cream during the week" rule to help complete the Yelp! ice cream challenge. Came here around 10:30PM last night and was surprised to see that it was packed on a Monday night. The menu itself upset me since I couldn't order the Mint Condition and I hold anything with mint close to my heart. There seemed to be some confusion when I placed my order as it didn't seem like anyone working knew of the Yelp challenge until the manager came up front. The Yelp special was some sort of an upside down carrot cake mixture with vanilla ice cream that actually ended up blowing me away. Usually I would never order anything with carrot cake in it because, well, I just don't like it. However, this ice cream was delicious and It's even something I wouldn't mind eating a couple dozen more times. Overall, this place is an A+ edition to Hertal Ave and great addition to Buffalo's world of ice cream. read more

Vegan soft serve???? What a time to be alive! Twice now I've ordered the Samoa ice cream (vegan coconut soft serve, cocoa nibs, coconut, vegan caramel, vegan shortbread cookie pieces) which is like a mcflurry. It's so good!! They also have another vegan sundae option with fruity pebbles. I haven't tried it yet but it looked good! My friends also loved the dairy soft serve sundaes too. The workers are very friendly and helpful. The decor bright and cheery, just as you would want from an ice cream shop. (Definitely great for some Instagram photos) Overall, Churn is such a great addition to Buffalo! read more

Speaking of hands, we like to use ours to create waffle cones, baked goods & every single churro that goes into our specialty sundaes. Established in 2017.

Churn Soft Serve is the sister brand of Buffalo's first food truck business, lloyd. Owners Pete Cimino & Chris Dorsaneo, friends since childhood, wanted to branch out from the taco & burrito route to give Buffalo something completely new & fresh: soft serve made from scratch. Using Ithaca Milk from pasture raised cows, we take your soft serve from cow to cone, adding inventive & creative toppings like crushed fruit loops, our signature aztec brownies with cocoa nibs or crushed pretzels with peanuts. Don't forget about our full coffee menu that utilizes Plume Roastery beans!

We're lucky enough to have Jen Boye as our Pastry Chef. The former Nickel City Chef has brought her incredible baking abilities to our shop thanks to her time spent at Elm Street Bakery, The Mansion on Delaware & Fiddleheads. She's even presented a dinner at the prestigious James Beard House!

If you look at the pictures from Hanna's of the banana ships and you look at my picture compared to the other ones, you will notice a big difference. I got completely ripped off. The employee was very nice though she was young cute and just a nice girl. As far as Parking goes now, that's kind of tough. It's a very small parking lot. I think maybe 10 cars could fit in there ,either 8 or 10. I'm not sure. And you have to really watch out cause kids are all over the place and you don't know if there's gonna be one running through the parking lot or not so you just have to really watch out for everybody there. It was very, very busy tonight and understandably, it's a beautiful night and perfect for ice cream. But the line unfortunately goes out towards the street and the main street there is Colvin so that's kind of dangerous for a little kids to be around waiting in line because you know kids can't stand still. They don't have a huge selection of ice cream or sundaes or things, but but they do have does sound good but like I said, it's not very much. Next time I go, I'm going to get probably lemon ice like I used to when I was little or another banana ship and hopefully they make it bigger. What they did make, though it was delicious.

It's a decent sized market with all the usual staples. What really sets it apart for me is the upstairs space. I've hosted a couple of events here, and there's always been plenty of room and seating. It's never felt too loud, which is nice. I like that people can use the space however they want. When I go with friends, some order from the cafe, some grab baked goods, others just pick up a quick salad or something simple. It makes it easy for everyone to join in at whatever price point they can. Parking is usually good, though I've run into a couple times when the lot was full. Still, I'm glad they have a parking lot. The store is clean, the staff are friendly, and having that upstairs area takes it up a star for me.

Whenever I come in, the staff are super pleasant, super helpful and eager to please. I find the store to be well organized and usually everything is put away and looks good. It does seem that they are slightly short staffed at times because there are times when there are boxes in the aisles and haven't yet been put away. They also seemed to have given up the parking lot, and now allow the parking lot to be used by many people. It's very generous of them and they don't have to do that. It also does make it slightly more difficult when you're actually shopping there to get a parking spot. That's an unfortunate side effect of the neighbors not being respectful of who the parking is being provided for.

I like coming to this Walgreens for the candy selection for holidays. They always have such a huge variety of bags of candy as well as single chocolates and things that you can pick out for stocking stuffers for Christmas and for Easter baskets on Easter. That's about the only reason why I come to this Walgreens that was for Candy. The employees are pretty nice ,a couple not so nice, but that's the way it is with every place pretty much. Their prices seem to have gone up since the last time I was here. Today though I had brought my mother in to do some shopping for Christmas in which she just happened to be buying all boxes of candy today so obviously it's good for candy for her too. I didn't look around it much else so I can't give a fresh opinion on anything else right now.
