This store is super cute! I've walked by so many times and never realized how beautiful it looks from inside. I went in for some chocolates and they had a great selection - different flavors, with both sugar-free and regular options. I'd definitely go back, not just for the chocolates but to enjoy the charming decor

My family took me and my kids to Parkside on Main St in Buffalo for Father's Day in June 2025. It was wonderful to see the old place nicely restored. It is a beautiful and classic setting for which to enjoys some ice cream sundaes, candy, lunch, etc. It was recently restored mostly in 2017. Perfect spot for a charming date as well. We were seated at a large table, and presently with a sampler of sponge candy while we pondered what to order. I thought the service was extremely friendly, and very good. We had some banana splits, a shake, and some peanut butter pie. Yum. My kids loved it too! I highly recommend checking this place out. It is a total gem and a classic. I bought some truffles, and saltwater taffy to go.

Had family visiting and decided to stop here. My first time visiting and as we opened the door I felt like I was walking back in history. Immediately felt the historic vibe of this candy/ice cream shop. Super cute. Lots of chocolate candy options including infamous sponge candy. Great service! It wasn't too busy which was great. Would definitely recommend.

This was our first stop on a tour of ice cream and sweet treat locations in the Buffalo area! Although we weren't sure of the lunchtime menu, we had seen a note somewhere that they served a few different sandwiches, so we plan to have lunch here. We were not disappointed! On the contrary, the sandwiches were delicious, and the soup was out of this world! The lunch waitress was very nice and welcoming!

Not to be missed Parkside candy offers delicious hot Fudge sundaes. And if for some reason that doesn't satisfy your seet tooth then purchase some candy you will not be disappointed, I purchased the peanut butter cups and the chocolate was so creamy. So much to choose from so come in and take a peak you won't be disappointed.

The candy and prices are great, but customer service felt nonexistent - not overtly rude, just not very welcoming. Maybe it was an off day. The shop itself is very charming and attractive. Good variety of sweets and chocolates. We tried some truffles and salt water taffy. The price was much less than expected compared to other shops. I'd probably give it another chance for the value alone. They also serve ice cream.

    Definitely a neighborhood landmark

Not sure if there's another candy store in Buffalo with such an old fashion art deco style than Parkside Candy. The store is almost 100 years old (opened 1927) and in 2017 was restored to it's original glory. It appears that there is now work going on with the factory but not sure of the details. Walking inside give you the instant feeling of going back in time. Not sure which jumped out at me more, the beautiful checkered floor or the amazing ceiling. Then you look around at the cute booths, ice cream stand, and cases of candy, all in a circular design around the room with beautiful woodwork, paint colors, and wallpaper. I'm not much of a candy eater so my review is mostly about the atmosphere and experience though I did buy a small box of various kinds to try. Didn't try the ice cream. I'll come back again to check that out. 2021-60

Ah, the memories of going to this gorgeous, old-fashioned ice cream parlor that I'd forgotten was quite close to my late great aunt's home on Winspear Avenue. The thick chocolate fudge on top of ice cream was the stuff of dreams and that goes double for an upstate New York thing, sponge candy. (I learned it's also a thing in Minnesota or Wisconsin, maybe a blizzard climate thing, I digress). So my beloved heard the longing in my voice and knowing I'm not a sweets person, he realized this sponge candy was special to me- so he had two boxes shipped off to San Francisco. I'd forgotten how heavenly this candy is, made by hand in the Parkside Candy factory behind the ice cream parlor. Crunchy, almost fizzy, as it melts on your tongue with a rich caramel goodness that's like no other. Milk or dark chocolate? I'll take dark chocolate, please. So picturesque and early century authentic, a pivotal scene between Robert Redford and Glenn Close in The Natural was shot here. Here's to making memories old and new.

Looking for the perfect cool me off or sweet summer treat, then Parkside Candy is the place not to be missed. They offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors and sundaes .The hot fudge sundae is incredible. And if you're still not full, try some of these delicious, creamy chocolates.I purchased the Peanutbutter cups and they were amazing.

Another visit to the shop. Employees were very friendly and said hello immediately upon entry. Compared to our last visit they didn't have as many options, but last time was around Valentine's Day. We still found a bunch of things. We picked up a bunch of chocolate to hold us over until next time. Their sponge candy is so good. We picked up chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate suckers, peanutbutter cups and cashew clusters.

Look at how pretty this place is!

Guys, it's beautiful in here. My husband and I came to get some ice cream the day after Valentine's Day and are so happy we did! They were a little short staffed, but we still were able to order rather quickly. I got a salted caramel sundae with hot fudge and it was delicious. Apparently, the ice cream is homemade there. You can definitely taste the difference between it and store bought. The customer service we received was great, even though they were a little slow to take our payment. Again, they were short staffed, so this is understandable. The building itself is so lovely. It's really old fashioned, with very little modernity. I love old places like this; it's like stepping back in time. I definitely want to come back here as soon as possible!

Perfect little time capsule! We stopped in for tasty sundaes and the decor, Parkside delivered! Clean friendly, delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

The store is absolutely beautiful. It's probably what I'd a younger crowd would call "vintage". And it actually truly is because Parkside Candy has been open during the years grandparents were still alive. The food was a disappointment. The presentation was wonderful, but the taste of the candy did not match. I had a taste of the sugar-free gummies and a dark chocolate bar. The sugar-free gummies were sweetened with aspartame, a sugar substitute. Beware that aspartame has some risk of gastrointestinal side effects. Other than that, the gummies were too hard. Like they've been sitting at the display case for days before I bought it. The dark chocolate bar was not very dark either. I ended up shredding the chocolate on top of my pancakes because it didn't have the bitterness that I seek out in the dark chocolate. I prefer a grocery store brand of dark chocolate than the dark chocolate from Parkside. The population is mostly made of more elderly ladies and their young grandchildren. They came here for an ice cream sundae, so I guess I should've looked at what the natives eat before I bought some actual candies. Parking sucks like it always does near a University. But come here before 6, and you'll have an easy time with parking as long as you are fine with parallel parking. Parkside also isn't busy during that time, so you kill two birds with one stone.

Root beer float was so tasty & the seating inside was so cute. Such a romantic and fun place!

When you enter, if you take a left you end up in the Candy Shop, and if you take a right you end up at the Ice Cream Shop. We did a quick pass through of the Candy shop, they have quite the selection, and the lady who was working at the time was incredibly friendly. The candy itself seemed to be a bit on the pricy side for what it was. On to the Ice Cream shop! They had quite a decent selection of flavors, and the day happened to be buy 1 get 1 free Pie slice day, so that is what we did. We went for once slice of the Apple Pie, and one Slice of the Peanut Butter Pie, to share. While the price was good for the pies, considering one slice was free, both slices seemed stale, and the apple pie seemed well underbaked. It was very clean inside, and we had the place to ourselves. I love tipping for good service, when I paid, I tipped 20% even through the employee seemed less than thrilled we were there. Not certain what the tip was for as we ended up having to go grab our own desserts, as well as bus our own table.
