Giant Cookie Sandwich: Red Velvet & M&M cookies, Cake Batter hard ice-cream, and sprinkles - Cake Batter = Perry's Piece of Cake!!
Clark S.

After grabbing chips/queso and tacos from TCB's, my friend, who flew in from Seattle to stay with me for a week, and I were looking for a spot to grab a cool dessert. Our waitress at TCB's told us that Cookies & Cream had a shop right on Elmwood, a short 10-minute walk from there, I remembered seeing Cookies & Cream on Yelp a while back and was intrigued by their giant cookie sandwich... So of course we made the short walk over and indulged ourselves! We arrived around 7:30pm on a Tuesday and were impressed with the neon color and somehow retro but modern décor and vibes. There were a few tables setup outside that were fenced off from the sidewalk and nearly all of them were filled. There were also a few tables inside. Walking in, there was a line, which told that my friend and I weren't the only ones wanting to end the night with a sweet treat. It didn't take long for us to reach the counter and place our orders. The young gentleman who took our order was very conscientious and accommodating. My friend and I waited less than five minutes or so and our giant cookie sandwiches were packaged up, with spoons thank goodness, and we were on our way back home. For my giant cookie sandwich, the two cookies I ordered were Red Velvet and M&M and for the ice cream, I went with their hard ice cream flavor, Cake Batter, which is nearly identical to Perry's Piece of Cake ice cream and is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ice cream!! I also had it rolled in sprinkles because why not? I'm soo happy I went with those cookies - the Red Velvet had hunks of white chocolate/cream cheese and the M&M cookie was jam-packed with M&M's. Those cookies complimented the Cake Batter ice cream extremely well, which the ice cream was nothing short of phenomenal. The sprinkles added nice visual flair to it all. The caveat to our dessert was that my buddy wanted to wait until we got back home to eat our sandwiches, so by the time we got home, I had to stick them in the freezer to harden up the ice cream a bit. Doing this worked in hardening the ice cream, but since these cookies were served warm and soft, they hardened up too. Everything still tasted amazing, but the cookies definitely were a bit harder to eat, which made the ice cream in the center fall out a bit. But, again, thank goodness for the packed in spoon. Now, when they say giant cookie sandwich, I can safely say they are GIANT! I ate the entire sandwich but wow, I was surprisingly full afterward. The total for each sandwich came to a little over $10, but they were definitely worth the price as they were high in quality and generous in portions. I'm really glad to finally have checked Cookies & Cream out and indulged in their giant cookie sandwich! The shop on Elmwood is pretty cool, their staff was friendly, and they served us a quality dessert for a price that leans toward the high side, but does seem reasonable given the quality and portion size. I can't wait to come back and grab another giant cookie sandwich!

went on a whim with a friend to check out this place and I was not disappointed. They have quite a few types of cookies with a couple of interesting options and a fun variety of ice cream flavors to mix those cookies with. I have a s'more's cookie with moose tracks ice cream, but they had lots of "blizzard "-type dessert as well along with sundaes. The staff were very friendly and informative and the interior had nice theme going on. Not quite sure how to classify it. Maybe 1970s-ish ice cream parlor? Definitely worth checking out. And enjoy the candy in the dishes scattered around the business.

Loved this ice cream shop! It's super cute inside and they offer so many different sweet treat options. I ordered the giant cookie sandwich. You get to choose the ice cream and cookies for your sandwich. They have about 10 different cookies and even more options for ice cream. It was delish!

Great spot! The ice cream and cookies are to die for! Now adding them together - you get a glimpse of what heaven is like! We ordered ice cream, cookies, ice cream and cookies and ice cream and brownies. Not one bite was bad! We all enjoyed the service and staff. The place is neat with in door and out door dining. The price wasn't too unaffordable and the line was outside due to the high quality of product. We will be back as this place is a gem!

As soon as I walked in I was in such awe! The decor here is so cute. I would say this is a nice date/hangout spot as well. The cookies here are so big and delicious. We had the sugar, macadamia nut and oatmeal raisin cookie. I had the cookie dough blizzard which was okay. It was soft serve ice cream layered with the cookie dough and I thought it was going it be mixed in. The components were tasty though. They also have an outdoor area in the front and the patio area , both are nice.

Stopped by for some dessert with my girlfriends. The price was not bad at all. I ordered the toasted or roasted (cant remember) coconut ice cream. Im a huge coconut lover. This is by far some of the most delicious and flavorful coconut flavored ice cream I've ever had. I don't live anywhere near this ice cream shop, but I will definitely make it my mission to make my way back here for some more of that coconut ice cream. Love the ice cream theme throughout the shop. FYI Street and parking lot parking available.

This was my first time at the new location on Elmwood. Just as great as the one in South Buffalo. I love how customizable everything is, like with substitutions and all of the toppings. They also let you try the ice cream flavors. The inside of the restaurant was lovely, and I really like the second floor which made it a lot more spacious. I visited on a Saturday evening around 8 PM, and it was a little busy but the service was quick and friendly so there were no issues. Great addition to the Elmwood Village and I highly recommend for anyone with a craving for sweet desserts.

I've never been to the OG location, but the Elmwood branch is close to our new digs so we decided to take a walk for a nice Sunday treat! The shop is decorated adorably. Neon lights and fun colors make it so nostalgic and fun. And it smelled divine, of course, because of the amazing-looking cookies they had out on display! Their menu is pretty big and they carry both soft and hard ice cream. I opted for a classic vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles. I got the kids size, but it was pretty big, so if you're unsure, I'd recommend getting a kids! My boyfriend got a hot fudge sundae and he liked it a lot. The service was not great, I'm not going to lie. But many moons ago, I, too, worked in an ice cream shop, so I can empathize with the employees' pain. It wouldn't deter me from coming back. I would love to walk over to try something else. Maybe one of their '77s? But DEFINITELY an oatmeal raisin cookie next time.

I mean.. this place is ADORABLE! Ice cream choices aren't out of this world but the ambiance is so cute that it really doesn't matter. The location on Elmwood has a cute courtyard in the back that you'll miss unless you know to look for it. Plenty of seating and Instagramable moments if you're interested in that. Great for families, couples and friend groups!

Basically Perry's ice cream with a soft big cookie. Over $7 for mine. It was good, don't get me wrong but really nothing special about it. Appreciated the outdoor dining.

Strawberry cheesecake sundae with macadamia nut cookie
Chelsea G.

The ice cream has been delicious the couple times that I've been here. Most recently I got one of the sundaes that had a huge macadamia nut cookies, strawberry cheesecake ice cream with peanuts, hot fudge and whipped cream. The cookie was large and they give you a very good amount of sundae for the price. They also have a nice little patio you can sit out in the back. Overall great!

BOOZY CUPCAKES. Sounded interesting to me! Pop-up at the Broadway Market, box of 6 for $28. Iirc,…read morethey are $5/ each. They had six flavors: sangria - fruity, wine; honey whiskey - topped with a Biscoff; piña colada - not pictured because I skipped that one; mojito - lime and rum; black forest - chocolate cupcake with boozy cherry; peanut butter whiskey - also a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Presentation and toppings were all really lovely and looked delicious. Super creative concept all around. Most of the cupcakes were yellow or white cake, the rum, whiskey, and wine were noticeable but not strong. So you knew they were there, but not overwhelmed. Some people might actually want them to be stronger! The flavors in general were subtle but clear. The frostings were all pretty light and pleasant, which is nice. I know there's a lot of people who really like dense buttercream and cream cheese frostings and for whom cupcakes are a frosting delivery vehicle. These are not those. Plenty of rich and delicious frosting for the cupcake but not too much. The cupcakes are not following the super sized trend; they're a nice cupcake sized cupcake. This makes it easy to rationalize eating two at a time because, um, you wanted to compare flavors. Yep, that's totally why. I liked all the flavors I tried, but was surprised that my favorite was the chocolate peanut butter and my second favorite was the mojito. Only comments would be there's some variability as to the moistness or dryness of the cake part, and the filled ones could use more filling. The people at the pop-up (I forgot to ask if they were the bakers/ owners) are really nice and happy to answer any questions or customize an order. As you can tell by my substituting an extra black forest for the piña colada. They'll be back at the Broadway Market for Dyngus Day!

Great for parties, events, or gifts! Available pick up or delivery, to bring to your event or have…read morethem cater.

Cuccidati Inc. had a booth at the event ... and they had me at the word "cuccidati". :-D LOVE these cookies! If you are unfamiliar, cuccidati are iced-and-sprinkled fig-filled Italian cookies. They're like a soft, delectable, gourmet, top-shelf, high-class, prettier Fig Newton, but way better, haha. Whenever I see an Italian cookie spread at a gathering, I always b-line for dibbs on the cuccidati. And Cuccidati Inc.'s cuccidati did not disappoint! These were a bit different from cuccidati I've had before. They weren't quite as sweet, not as thick-white of an icing as usual. And the filling seemed more natural, like more purely fig, as opposed to the more artificial extract flavor of some cuccidati. I do like the creamier cuccidati filling I'm used to, with more of a jam consistency. But these were good too, you could feel chewy bits of real fig fruit in each bite. If you prefer a cookie that isn't too rattle-your-teeth-sweet, you will probably enjoy Cuccidati Inc.'s cookies very much. We spoke with the owners when we were at the fresh-air market, and they were very sweet and friendly. They of course bake their namesake, but also bake many other cookies too. They don't have their own storefront, they sell by order, or at local venues and events. They are on the shelves at Buffalo Artisan Food Traders (https://www.yelp.com/biz/buffalo-artisan-food-traders-buffalo), so if you have a hankering for some delicious cuccidati, stop by there to grab a pack. Or check Cuccidati Inc.'s Facebook page for other upcoming local appearances - https://www.facebook.com/cuccidati.org - and mangia! :-D
