This restaurant soft-opened in March 2024 and officially opened in April 2024 in the old Breakers Korean barbecue space near the defunct Gwinnett Place Mall, and I-85 at Pleasant Hill Rd (exit 104). It's spacious, but can fill up quick. We arrived at noon on a Saturday and there were still plenty of open tables. However, by the time we left, shortly after 1pm, it was packed with people looking for tables. Someone jumped on our table as we were getting up to leave. This is not a sit-down restaurant. Instead, you order at one of two touchscreen kiosks at the entrance and then wait for your number to be called to pick up your food. Everything is self-serve, from condiments to hot broth. You also bus your own table. Here's what three of us got: B3. Heo [sic] Naengmyeon ($16.99) - spicy sweet potato starch noodles with raw fish (should be spelled "hoe") C3-B1. Naengmyeon and Yuk Jeon ($20.99) - cold sweet potato starch noodles and thinly sliced beef pancake C1-B1. Naengmyeon and Dwaeji Yang Nyum Gui ($18.99) - cold sweet potato starch noodles and grilled pork neck D4. Kimchi Son Mandu ($11.99) - handmade kimchi dumplings My wife and I love naengmyeon. We thought Naju's version was good, especially in this fast-casual format. To nitpick, the noodles stuck together and the ice melted too fast. Regardless, I found the noodles to be delicious, refreshing, and satisfying. The spicy version came with a small bowl of icy broth on the side. The raw fish, beef pancake, and grilled pork neck were all tasty and of decent quality. As for the handmade kimchi dumplings, they were legit. Big and filling. In addition to naengmyeon, Naju also offers a variety of Korean soups (e.g., seolleongtang - ox bone soup and gomtang - beef bone soup) and LA galbi (grilled short ribs). During our visit, the pickup counter was staffed by a bunch of ajummas (Korean middle-aged women), basically Korean lunch ladies. I'd come back. This place seems ideal for a quick stop for an easy and reliable Korean meal / comfort food.

I do not feel as though downtown Duluth truly captures the amazing food scene of the city, but again, an old friend did like it enough to tell me about it. Inside was pretty spacious. High ceilings and bright. You have to go up front and order, and they'll give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. Pretty standard so far. It's not too loud, even with the music playing in the background, so not bad for hanging out with friends after the food is done, though we didn't. We were all pretty disappointed with our food. It wasn't bad, thankfully, it was just meh. We could've literally drove 5 minutes away for better, so we left as soon as we finished. The good thing is you get to choose what protein you want with your dish, which is nice. However, the chicken katsu here is thin. Also, the K-Fried chicken doesn't really mesh with the pasta. It's like a skewer on the side of your main dish. You can eat them separately and be happy enough. I was ok with the bulgogi, but I would've expected better from a Korean establishment. I haven't tried every single protein option, but I won't lie, tofu in pasta isn't the most appealing to me. For the main dishes, it was pretty bland, especially the omurice. I really enjoy eating here. The atmosphere is very family-friendly and the service they provide here is more than adequate. Very clean, as well. This restaurant is one of my favorite places to go to when I want Korean barbecue. You cannot go wrong with ordering their galbi (beef) here. If you like flavor, you have to try the marinated galbi. Their meats are very tender and juicy which really help bring the natural flavor of the meat. Also, it isn't just about their meats that are good but everything else that comes with the order such as other side dishes, fresh vegetables (usually lettuce, carrots, pepper, garlic), special dipping sauces, as well as the egg souffle! We also got a small portion soybean paste stew along with rice after we were done with our barbecue which was also really good. Would highly recommend coming here with friends and family! read more

Chung Dam restaurant stands out as one of the premier dining spots in Atlanta's Korean town. It's my go-to choice for hosting non-Korean business partners and colleagues due to its consistent excellence since its establishment. Today, we had lunch here after attending a funeral mass at church. The lunch spread was incredibly generous, offering a diverse range of dishes including Korean traditional pancake (전), Kalbi, grilled fish (가자미구이), and 오징어볶음, accompanied by Soju. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience marked by a pleasant atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food. Personally, I found the overall taste slightly saltier than my preference, but I acknowledge that taste preferences vary. Nonetheless, the pancake and Kalbi stood out to me as particularly outstanding in flavor. read more

I consider it more on the smaller sized venue. Sectioned off table for privacy which is common and great quality. Food: ordered beef brisket, pork belly and gopchang (Ala carte) combination options did not match what I wanted. Beef brisket was so tough and chewy. We all looked at each other questioning the quality of this beef. On the other hand, pork belly was exceptional. Great flavor. Was very content with gopchang too. Banchan was mediocre. Love the bean powder (the magic sauce) as a dry meat dip which adds savory sweet taste that enhances the flavor. Whoever created this is a culinary genius. Service: the young lady who sat us to the table was nice then a male server took over. I'm guessing maybe he had a bad day, or just don't want to be there. Not personable. He was grilling for us but our family especially my mother who was there eats speed of sloth, very slow eater. I asked him courteously "can I cook this myself because we are slow eaters". He said "no, I'm going to do it" and slabbed all the meat on the grill. As a Korean person who has been eating in Korean bbq restaurant and home for over 4 decade this was my first. Everyone on the table was speechless. We had to eat in speed and other meats burned. Whilst I love eating gopchang crispy which requires longer cooking, the server came and turned off the grill. Maybe I'll come back just one more time as I really enjoyed the pork. Maybe I'll catch a better server or catch him on better day.
