First I'd like to say, this restaurant is definitely catered to the westerner's palate. The flavors are not as strong but the food is still good. The food doesn't make you feel heavy and tired. I have loved the food both times I have had it delivered via GrubHub (I'm slightly miffed at the fact they only do GrubHub as I don't normally use that app but the food is worth it). The Cream Cheese wontons were fried perfectly, not greasy and had a great cheesy flavor (the red sauce is a bit sweet for me but standard for Chinese food - the best red sauce I have found is Wang Wang's - its not too sweet). I also got the Chili Wontons and they were super, very flavorful, not too spicy. Next I had the pork friend rice and found it to be wonderfully flavorful, with a hint of oil (which every fried rice need IMHO). Loved it - I don't remember it being this good the first time - I hope it stays this good. Finally, I had the Beef Bulgogi and really liked it. I dont have any experience with Bulgogi so I cant compare it to others as far as authentic flavor goes but it was really good. We went here today to try some new Chinese food. We have been searching and searching for really amazing Chinese food in the Tulsa area. Up until now we stuck with buffets for the "all you can eat" aspects of it. We decided to try a sit down restaurant and we were not disappointed! The service was very fast and extremely friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed. The only complaint I would have is that the fried rice was rather bland, but I tossed a dash of soy sauce on it and fixed it up. It was very inexpensive as well! We will enjoy coming back here if our Chinese food adventure comes to an end. We will most likely still search out some other places as well. read more

All the vegetables used in the dishes are fresh and the food is of much better quality than most Chinese restaurants. Hot! Diggity! Dog! 3 years folks... 3 years... I am painfully aware that Tulsa, Oklahoma is not a mecca for Asian immigrants. I also understand that Oklahoman's have a proclivity for wanting cuisine that has been "spiced up" with... with... wait for it... black pepper! Oh the humanity! So, I get it. I should not expect to have the options of a San Francisco or New York, but I would expect one, I repeat, at least one authentic (or as close to it) Chinese restaurant in the metro area. And I had it. Years ago I frequented a local mom-n-pop (Szechuan Express) that satisfied my every whim. I ate there so often that I became one of the family. We exchanged Christmas cards and my girls received presents on their birthday for god's sake! Then everything changed. The family began retiring or having families of their own and what was once a staple of my week was slowly stolen away by new management. I was cut adrift... I have been on walkabout for 3 years; searching for a new locale where I can become it's version of Norm. I tried Ghuang Zhou Dim Sum. It reminded me of a place that would be closed within a week in a bigger city, but limps along serving greasy food that I wager is a version of bad Chinese country cooking. I tried Golden Gate. A step above Ghuang Zhou for sure, but blase. I hung out here for a couple of months but eventually drifted away. It just could not keep my attention. Is it bad? Not really, but not great either. I tried Fortune Chef. Ah... The perfect Okie Chinese. It serves Catonese style Chinese. Ever wonder what Chinese gravy tastes like? You can get it here. Simply, Catonese is the "salt-n-pepper" style of Chinese cooking; whereas, Szechuan cuisine mixes in the chilies. Is it bad? No. Not at all. But, I find it rather bland. I tried so many other places that served nothing but warmed crap on a buffet that I had given up hope all together. So, I switched. I began eating lots of Thai and Vietnamese. But I never gave up my hope that I would someday find good Chinese in Tulsa again. 3 years I waited... 3 years... Thank you fellow yelpers! Without you, I would not have found my new favorite Chinese restaurant in Tulsa. But I have found it. And... I could not have done it without your help. I have now been 5 times and tried something new every time. There have been a few things that I do not like as much as others (we are still in Tulsa mind you), but here is the rundown: The "chips and salsa". A simple idea that left me speechless. It is nothing more than fried noodles with a side of sweet-n-sour sauce, but good nevertheless and an attention getter. It is true genius and just the hook to make you remember this restaurant. The soups. I have had both the sweet-n-sour and egg drop. I am not the best judge of these because I usually do not like these soups no matter what. But, they were not terrible and, honestly, I must leave it to your better judgement. The seafood pancakes. Think a pancake (nonflour version) stuffed full of shrimp, octopus, squid, and lots of onion and served with a chili sauce. Sound good? Then give it a try. But, is it worth it? Nah. I would pass on this appetizer. There are so many better ones. For example, the chili wontons. The staff makes all their wontons in house and they are really good. Naturally, they are the pork version with a flavorful interior and well made dumpling casing. I would order these as an entree or if you have a large group. Very filling and spicy. The cheese wontons come in a close second to the above. I personally find this appetizer wonderful. The cream cheese is sweet (the boss finds them too sweet) with a slight peppery spice and the fried wrapper is crispy and a real treat. I could eat these as a dessert. The egg rolls are another positive. I personally do not like egg rolls and would never order them. But, these are crispy with a pork and vegetable filling that makes me actually think of ordering them the next time I am in. I must say I actually find myself surprised by how good they are. But, I leave it up to you. The fried dumplings. Like the chili wontons, these are a meal unto itself. Fried perfectly with tender pork inside. The accompanying sauce is decent but unnecessary. I will humbly suggest that you instead get it's chilies and oil as a side. It makes the dumplings far more spicy and adds an additional depth of flavor. (Just so you know, the boss thinks the dumplings at P.F. Changs are a tick better. I disagree). Quick note, you can see that I have named only app's so far, and it has many more to choose from. I think you could make a meal just of these, but how about the entrees? Well, you will just have to wait for my follow up review. (I have ran out of space). Darn the luck... Wow, wow and WOW. That's pretty much how I felt while I was eating lunch at Chopsticks. The wife and I ventured in today for lunch based on a recommendation, and we're glad we did. First off.... NO BUFFET. That means stuff is fresh. I saw numerous things on the menu that I wanted to try, but had to restrain myself to only one, since it *was* lunch. The wife settled for Beef and Broccoli, and I opted for Beef Lo Mein. We shared an order of fried spring rolls for a starter. First... when you're seated, you're given a basket of fried wonton chips and plum sauce to nosh on. Nice touch.... chips were light and crisp and the sauce was perfect. Sweet without going into syrup territory. For lunch, at least, you're given your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. We both opted for the egg drop soup, and were extremely pleased. I've had a lot of egg drop soup over the years, and this was some of the best. I could easily have sat down to a quart bowl of this stuff. The spring rolls were gently fried, and very light and tasty. These are meatless, so it's straight up vegetable on the filling. Just before we finished the soup and spring rolls, our order arrived. The wife's Beef and Broccoli was cooked absolutely perfect. The broccoli had just the right amount of snap when you bit it, and the beef was almost buttery tender. The sauce was tangy and rich without being overbearing. Obviously this wasn't just a glob of oyster sauce thrown in the pan at the last minute. My Beef Lo Mein was without a doubt the best I've had in Tulsa in probably 20 years. I was always a die hard fan of Loi's Golden Dragon and their lo mein, and this is a very worthy successor to the title of 'My Favorite Lo Mein'. The noodles were thin and light, the beef was tender and flavorful. The addition of slivers of bok choy and green onions provided a nice textural counterpoint to the noodles. The seasonings were spot on. I found myself feeling like I was on a particularly wonderful date.... I just didn't want it to end. I offered a few bites to the wife to try and was instantly sorry.... I kept wondering how to take it back and not look selfish...... I can't say enough about how pleased I was with this dining experience. If you've read my other reviews, you know I'm fairly hard to please. Okay, darn near impossible.... but Chopsticks did it. We now have a new favorite place for Asian Cuisine and will be back. I grew up in Springfield, MO, home to the infamous Springfield Style Cashew Chicken, so I'd like to say I know a thing or two about decent Chinese food restaurants. Upon moving to Tulsa, I was disappointed by the lack of good Chinese food. There just wasn't anywhere to be found that could past muster in my eyes. It was a long 6 year wait, but I finally found Chopsticks and it is great. Everything I've tried here has been great. I base a lot of my appreciation for Chinese eateries on their hot and sour soup. Chopsticks passes with flying colors. It's a been a long time since I've seen Mapo Tofu on the menu and I was glad that not only do they have it, but it's good (ask for it a bit spicier). My two negative critiques are: 1)I'm used to going to Chinese restaurants and getting a big bowl of rice to share. Here they give a small bowl with each entree ordered. This kind of takes away from the sharing experience 2)They have traditional Chinese/Korean dishes, but they are pricey! I'd love to try them, but just can't seem to justify spending $20 on a single dish. One day perhaps, but not for now. read more

Don't order delivery here!!! After reading the great reviews for Chopsticks I was excited to have some good delivery food to my hotel instead of the boring pizza. Ordered the potstickers (arrived in one over cooked, gluey ball), the hot & sour soup (good broth but little else ... Only tiny slivers of tofu, mushrooms & no meat to be found). My entree was scant in portion size, had veggies included NOT listed on the menu (ones I hate & would've requested to be omitted) & small amounts of the ones promised. The kicker was their out-sourced "delivery service". The order for my food was a total of $17.59. The delivery service told me there would be a $5 delivery fee + 10% gratuity for delivery. However my total bill ended up being $28.97. Thats some creative math! Feeling scammed. Food was mediocre & maybe worth $15 but definitely NOT worth $30!!! read more

Here is the funny thing about this restaurant, it's name is chopsticks yet there are no chopsticks to be found. Maybe you have to ask for them. Anyway on to the food. We went for lunch and ordered off the lunch menu (imagine that). Entrees served with one egg roll, rice, and soup. Wife ordered cheese wontons as an appetizer and I must say i thought all wontons were equal until I had these. They were exceptional to say the least. Next I had the egg drop soup and the wife had hot and sour soup. I have never had egg drop soup before so I didn't know what to expect, but it just wasn't my favorite. As for the hot and sour, it was different than most others I have had, but I'm still not sure about this one. I ordered the chicken lo mein and was pleasantly surprised. I half expected some raunchy lo mien that is served on a buffet. I was wrong. It was nothing short of wonderful. I was in Tulsa for a weekend and was snooping on yelp and I came across this place. I was about to blow off this place as another Chinese-American establishment until I glanced at their website. The menu had a weird Korean/Chinese mix. Then I looked at the Chinese/Korean specialties. This place is completely mislabeled as pure Chinese. I came to the conclusion that the proprietors are Chinese-Koreans, ethnic Chinese born in Korea. Their "authentic fusion" food is in the back of menu. They specialize in northern chinese/korean dishes aka noodles in broth. These people make fresh, handmade noodles which is a rarity in itself. I got the jajianmien which is basically a Chinese/Korean spaghetti. Rich, dark sauce with bouncy, chewy, perfect noodles. So. Freaking. Good After my meal, I asked the waitress and my instinct was confirmed and they were indeed Chinese-Koreans. Man my asian-dar is so good. Anyways, Don't get their P.F chang egg roll combo or whatever general tso's chicken, get their Chinese/korean specialties in the back of the menu. read more

First of all ... be prepared to eat! They start you off with what I'm guessing was fried wontons and sweet and sour sauce. I was a little skeptical but I quickly fell in love. :) All the portions were huge! I had wonton soup which was excellent ... the only problem was that it was so hot it burned my tongue and it didn't cool off enough to eat before the main meal came. I had sesame chicken and it came with broccoli and fried rice. It was enough to eat that night plus lunch and dinner the next day! The staff was very kind and did an excellent job. I have ordered delivery from here before, so this is a hit or miss location. Tonight's menu was Garlic chicken mixed with onion, bell pepper, onion, bamboo shoots, onion, brown gravy and...wait for it, onion. Phew. OK, so maybe it was just a one time blunder but when I spend over $25 on a dinner I kind of expect a hearty dinner. Their pork egg rolls are the highlight of my dinner. Fried to a golden crisp. I would probably go back. We went there for lunch during the week. The place was moderately busy. Plenty of parking. The service was impeccable. The wait person was quick with some water and advice on our lunch selection. They have a lunch menu that includes an eggroll, soup, and an entrée. Very reasonably priced and quite a bit of food. The eggroll was not a good way to start a great lunch. In fact, they lost a star because of the first impression that the eggroll made. My hot and sour soup was good and I could have had a bucket of it. The recommendation for Korean spicy pork was excellent. Served in a nice brown sauce with onions and perhaps bell peppers, and a scoop of fried rice. Flavorful and spicy, especially when you order it extra spicy and they bring you their chili sauce. Several months ago, I ordered egg foo young takeout from Chopsticks. I don't know if everybody is familiar with that dish. Beaten eggs and some vegetables are fried up to make two or three roughly disk-shaped "pancakes." Usually, you select a meat (such as beef, pork, chicken, or shrimp) that is combined with the eggs and vegetables. And usually, they serve brown gravy with it, which you can pour over the pancakes. It can be delicious. But what I got from Chopsticks around the middle of the afternoon was just awful. No fluffy, fragrant pancakes. Instead, they sold me two or three hard, cold, knobby balls that used to be beaten eggs. The vegetables and chicken they put into the "gravy," although it was really more like a thin, greasy, homemade soup. Anybody who serves food like that probably does not really like Chinese food and definitely has utter contempt for customers. I'm never going back. Praemonitas praemunitas. It is really hard to believe that Chopsticks is listed among the top ten Chinese restaurants in the Tulsa area. I imagine that the folks who voted for Chopsticks have little concept of what good Chinese food tastes like. read more

I've lived in Washington DC and Philadelphia but Chopsticks is still my favorite Chinese restaurant I've tried in the US. My favorites are their sesame chicken (best I've ever had) and their vegetable and tofu stir fry. They also consistently have excellent eggdrop soup - not too filmy and tastes fabulous. This place is truly a hidden gem in Tulsa - I hate to see that anyone has had a bad experience here. If you have, they deserve another chance. Walked just the restaurant with no kind of music playing... pretty awkward when you walk in and people watch you walk in becuse they hear the door open.... Went and sat down. Was greeted by staff who was all very nice. Food wise: dumplings were good. Eggrolls were poor. Korean wings were below average, Mongolian beef was ok, seseme chicken ehhhh okay, Korean noodles with black bean sauce was poor. My son and I went in on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. It's nicely decorated with muted colors instead of the "Hong Kong Trinket Shop" decor so prevalent in Chinese restaurants around here. We stopped in about 5 and it wasn't busy at all. The waitress was nice and when my son ordered something spicy with various seafood, she made sure he knew what was in it, which was nice of her. (But unnecessary, lol.) I had a Chinese stir-fry dish myself. The Chinese menu is large and they seem to have a whole section of Korean food too, if that's your thing. Mediocre in about every regard. Somewhat above-average prices, nothing too flavorful or unique, and moderately fast service. They serve an array of Korean dishes (like Bulgogi, BiBimBap, Pork bulgogi, and mandu), some Americanized Chinese dishes like Sesame chicken, lo mein, General Tso, Beef and Broccoli, etc. and then some more traditional dishes like lamb and chili-oil dumplings. I saw the great reviews on here that I decided to try it myself today, only to be disappointed. I got the Korean chicken wings for appetizer and the korean spicy pork (aka bulgogi). My bf got the sweet n sour shrimp. The wings were a little tangy and that was it. Kinda bleh. My pork was pretty bland. No flavor to it. The shrimp was also just okay. I guess next time I'll go to a real korean restaurant for Korean food. Maybe I should've had a Chinese plate since it's a Chinese restaurant but oh well. Incredible Chinese food. Chopsticks is by far the best in Tulsa. The egg drop soup is made in-house and always rich and flavorful. I love the hot and sour soup, though it varies a bit - sometimes it is hotter or more vinegary than others - but it's also made in-house. The dumplings are equally terrific. I haven't been disappointed with any of the Chinese dishes. The chicken is clearly breast meat and not mushy pressed chicken product. I can't recommend any dish in particular because everything is great. Just pay attention to the dishes labeled spicy - they are made with hot peppers (probably equivalent to habanero). The bulgogi and other Korean dishes are tasty but not quite as excellent. Prices are super reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. My wife and I always get an extra meal out of it, and with soups and dumplings we usually spend around $30. read more
