My family has been eating here for years everything is fresh and the people are friendly.

I LOVE CHEAP AMERICANIZED CHINESE FOOD...BUT THIS WAS NEITHER GOOD CHEAP OR GOOD AUTHENTIC, SO DON'T THINK IT IS BECAUSE I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING THEY WERE NOT PROVIDING... The wontons lacked any demonstrative taste beyond old dough. The main course tasted like the other 1000 meals cooked in the oil. Fried rice was simply a dark version of white rice without any additional characteristics of fried rice. We have waited over five years to try this place because of friends' reviews, but I bit the bullet when the family was out of town to try it. Sorry. OK, I am on a quest for decent Chinese food in this local area. You have a total of 1 choice in Collinsville, OK and this is it. Ordered in person during prime dinner time, told it would be 15 minutes but when she saw my order for 2 combo plates & a couple of apps she said that was large order & it would be 30 minutes. She was spot on, order was ready in just about 30 minutes. The food, well the good news it it was the best I've had in Oklahoma, bad news is that that isn't saying much. I can say it was freshly cooked. The menu is limited & some of the food is not made the same as most Chinese restaurants. Like the general Tso's chicken, made with a brown gravey & no peppers. Staff was nice and friendly, bill came to $41 and change & after I pulled out 2 twenties and started to pull out a couple more bucks she told me 40 was fine. This cash was necessary because they were only accepting cash, credit card processor was down bit it looked like that sign had been hanging there for quite some time. Watching them prep the food was a little concerning from a food safety perspective, lots of possible cross contamination. Also not the cleanest kitchen but that is common in these small places. Did see anything that made me walk out or not eat the food. In short, not going to be my go-to place for Chinese food. The search continues.... read more

Food is good. The vegetables in it were good and it wasn't over done with onions and celery. The two vegetables I can't have a lot of in general. Service was quick and the hotel at the desk was helpful. Ambience is okay. I feel like it's more of a order and go. I haven't seen anyone sitting in there eating. Everyone was grab and go. read more

Food is mediocre at best. Decent service. Ambiance about what you would expect. Wasn't a big fan at all. But I've had worse.

Let me preface this review by saying I only had one item on the menu, and I surely won't let just one dish lock in a review. The place is a little hole in the wall on the south side of Main Street with ample curbside parking. The interior is pretty basic. No frills, nothing fancy, just a few tables and chairs and the order counter. Being lunchtime, and by myself, I kept my order to just one item, and it was... you guessed it... beef lo mein. My standby test for any new Asian place. This was good. Not great, not terrible. It wasn't overly flavorful, and it suffered the same fate as most beef lo mein from small joints... it was noodles and oyster sauce with a little meat and veggies. That said, I did eat the entire container for lunch. I do plan on returning for a few other dishes, just to get a good cross section of what they have. But based on the one dish for the one visit, Shanghai express is pretty much on a par with any other fast food Asian place in the area. read more

Shanghi is hit and miss do you go there one night the food is awesome the next time you go there it really really sucks. It's not like it depends on who's cooking because there's only one guy that does that. Our meal was very good. It's just a small mostly takeout business. People came and went the entire time we ate our food to pick up large orders of takeout. The food came relatively quickly as they were obviously cooking to order. We will definitely come back and or call in for a takeout order. read more

I have purchased food from this restaurant for many years. However, due to the service I received tonight I will never return. I placed an order at 6:00pm. I was told they were running behind 30 minutes. I arrived on time, paid, and waited and waited and waited. It's now an hour and 15 minutes since I ordered. With no hope in sight, I cancelled my order only to hear the owner yell from the back "no refunds". The cashier told me just a few more minutes. Knowing that he was lying because he had been telling me that for 45 minutes. I left. I will never return. Please be cautious when coming in and paying. They will not issue you a refund nor do they care about your order. read more

Good food! Good staff, Good location. The one negative we took from here is that the sesame chicken is basically sweet and sour chicken but with sesame sauce on it. Overall though, good place to eat. read more
