    Orange Chicken
    Jill G.

This is the tail of 2 dishes and our experience was a mixed bag. On one hand, the orange chicken was amazing! Maybe the best I've ever had while their Dan dan noodle was the worst I've experienced. Weird flavor. We ended up just sharing the orange chicken. Which was fine by us because the portions were huge!! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The interior is well decorated and upscale feeling but the music selection was jazz, great for a steak and martini but did nothing for the rest of the wonderful atmosphere. The staff did comp the dan dan. We will be back but a few changes could make this place stellar.

Classy, excellent service, and great food sum up Mandarin Taste pretty well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am surprised by how beautiful the restaurant looks. I love everything about it from the parking to the outside patio and to the inside. Every table has a centerpiece of fresh flowers. To me, the restaurant is immaculate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was truly exceptional on this visit. The server was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The menu at Mandarin Taste is extensive including traditional Chinese entrees, a little bit of dim sum, and hot pot. I would say the dim sum is lacking and doesn't have a lot of items. The hot pot is expensive. The pork dumplings in spicy sauce were delicious and so was the black pepper beef on hot plate. The beef was a little sweet but it had a good taste. The tomato egg drop soup was okay. The portion size of the entrees was large. A little pricy but not much compared to other Chinese restaurants. I am not sure why the review of Mandarin Taste is so low but I would definitely recommend. This is one of the few restaurants I would not read the reviews before trying. It is a lot better than what's being said.

The food was great and authentic! The only thing needed was better portion sizes I feel like something the portion size were a little small for the price. I do not recommend the matcha ice cream it was really gritty and had fatty cream chunks. The service was great our server was really attentive and didn't bother us but still took care of us well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is very nice and decorated well, really a step up from the old location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food was very good! I ordered the Kimchi Beef Fried Rice. The rice was very fresh and flavorful, beef was seasoned well. The serving size was pretty large, it was enough for two meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restraunt has a beautiful design and they have a patio if you want to eat outside, thanks![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Kung Pao Chicken, empty bowl

We've been meaning to try this place and finally dropped in. And we were pleasantly surprised. It was really good flavors. I mean, Lo Mein noodles can be kinda boring, but this was really tasty. The veggies were crisp and not over cooked. The Kung Pao was pretty good too. I ate it all as you can tell. Sorry, I was so hungry I forgot to snap a pic. Here's the big question. Would I come back????? Yes I would. I would like to try the Hot Pot next time. I think they may not offer it every time because it wasn't on our menu. But everything considered, I gave it 4 stars.

    Chicken Fried Rice

Mandarin Taste offers a delightful experience with its standout dish, the black pepper beef on a hot plate--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The crispy duck is a unique option, though I might not order it frequently due to other appealing protein choices. The lower prices of other protein options that I like better make me feel like "cool, I tried the duck, it was decent, I don't need to do it again". The chicken fried rice was tasty and they don't skimp on the chicken . The veggie lo mein is lovely, especially with its sizable broccoli chunks. Efficient staff ensures hot food, although friendliness is basic. The clean and inviting ambiance adds to the overall appeal. While some claim it's the best in town, I'm still deciding, but it's certainly among the top contenders.

I've been here once before at their old location so I wanted to check out this new location. Love the new building and decor. Very nice! We ordered the pepper steak, pineapple sweet and sour chicken, taiyaki. I loved the pineapple sweet and sour chicken! The only thing I would change would be to not cut the pineapple so close to the core because most of the pineapple chunks were really hard. The pepper steak was way too tender for my liking. But the flavors of the sauce was really good. Our server seemed like it was his first night? Food came out fast.

Outstanding Asian cuisine, like I've eaten while traveling overseas. This is not your typical Chinese-American buffet style food.

The restaurant is really pretty. It's bright and open which I love. Beautiful inside and a nice outside dining space too. The staff is friendly and helped me with entree selection which I appreciated. The dumplings were so yummy and had just the right amount of heat. Spicy black bean cilantro chicken has a ton of flavor! So glad I went with mild to spicy for this dish. Large portions meant leftovers for a second meal...winning! My friend got the orange chicken and it was delicious too. My son enjoyed her leftovers. He's a teenager and not always easy to please. I cannot wait to go back and check out other items.

    Hot Green Tea

First of all, it was one of the only places open on a snowy cold day in Tulsa. Our service was very personalized and they suggested a hot green tea which was actually perfect on a cold day. My wife had the orange chicken and I thought it was fabulous, especially because it is white meat chicken I had the cilantro beef and it was perfectly cooked and amazing.

This was a perfect meal, from the friendly smile and greeting when we walked in, to the delicious leftovers the next day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In between was good service, fabulous fragrant flavorful food served in a nicely decorated restaurant with an upscale feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have not been in any other Chinese restaurant in Tulsa that is more comfortable, has a nicer indoor dining area and such a large patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is first class.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even the to-go bag for the leftovers was above the ordinary. The delicious looking Spicy Water Boiled Beef with Vegetables, on the restaurant's online menu, spoke to me. That was my choice. In the restaurant, I got side tracked by the Cilantro Chicken. It was a perfect meal for me, but it is not for everyone. You better like cilantro, ginger, garlic and hot chili peppers. If you do, here is a meal that you will remember. All of those ingredients are stir fried with small pieces of white meat chicken and black beans. This is a fresh piquant aromatic plate of food. You can taste every savory flavor. An amazing balance of spice. Yes, I loved it and the leftovers. My wife had one of her favorites Coconut Chicken. It is was one of several great lunch specials. The generous main dish comes with your choice of soup, (the hot and sour is excellent) two eggrolls and your choice of rice. My wife loved it! Check the pictures. I was surprised and pleased with the dining experience. Nice restaurant excellent food. Spicy Water Boiled Beef with Vegetables, on the next visit.

You can get all the common dishes here but you can also get some unusual dishes that are very authentic. My grandson once ordered jelly fish. You can't get that at very many local restaurants. Another thing I like is that they have a couple of large round tables with lazy Susans. Our extended family sat at one of those tables once. It was fun putting the things we wanted to share on the lazy Susan and being able to spin it around and try what we wanted. It made for fun conversation talking about the different dishes. That was when our grandson ordered jellyfish. The restaurant is fairly small but the large tables make the restaurant good for groups. I think this would be an excellent place for a Yelp event. They have a lunch menu but you have to ask for it. It includes some of the popular Asian dishes for $9:95. They have smaller portions that come with a choice of soup or egg roll. Danny and I asked to see the lunch menu, but decided to order off the main menu. We split Crispy Tofu with garlic sauce and egg rolls. I liked the presentation of the egg rolls. They were cut diagonally and arranged nicely on the plate. The tofu dish was quite tasty. Next time, I plan to get Mei Fun. I have had it here before and loved the variety of flavors. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't wonderful. We got our food in a timely manner, but we felt rushed to order and she didn't check to see if we needed anything or refill our water glasses. Service here has been excellent in the past. I am glad we came back to Chengdu and were reminded of how much we like it. We will be back soon.

When I moved out of Tulsa in 2015, I made sure to eat there every single time I visited town (which is at least once a year). Unfortunately, on my last recent visit, the food had sharply declined in quality. Others had told me it had declined the last year or so, but obviously I had to try it myself. They clearly changed the lo mein recipe A LOT. It used to be my favorite lo mein on the planet, now it's so painfully average you could get the same lo mein anywhere else. The vegetables and tofu also weren't as flavorful, not was the kung pao chicken. The sesame chicken was still pretty good, as were the egg rolls. I'm BEGGING you all to please bring back the old lo mein recipe and go back to what you were doing before. There's a reason you survived in that cursed strip mall for so long while so many other businesses failed. Your old recipes competed with Flushing Queens (NYC, best Chinatown in the country) and now your food is average.
