I'm not sure who would give this place 4 stars. They must've never had good Chinese food. The service was the only highlight of the meal. We ordered Kung Pao chicken, beef fried rice, house lo mein noodles, and the pork belly entree along with fried pot stickers as an appetizer. First off, the potstickers were edible, but nothing to write home about. The dumpling sauce they provided was watered down soy sauce and not good. The King Pao chicken had zero pow! It was not good at all. The beef fried rice almost had a fish overtone taste and had another odd smell. The lo mein noodles were very greasy and lacked any seasoning at all. The worst of the meal was the Crunchy Pork Belly entree. This is an absolute lie. The dish looks nothing like the menu picture which had chunks of fried pork belly. This dish was loaded with soggy thin sliced bacon and half undercooked vegetables. It was atrocious and false advertising. We will NEVER patronize this joke of a Chinese cuisine restaurant again. Those who gave it 4 stars should be ashamed of yourself. read more

The restaurant has a very family dining style vibe. I recommend coming with a group so you can all order 1-3 dishes each and try the extensive menu. My group and I ordered about 13 dishes total, and that didn't even make a dent in their big menu. Overall, the food was good, the vibes were nice, the staff were nice but the service was a bit slow. As soon as we got there, they stayed getting very busy, so we do have a little grace to the staff. There were some standout dishes the I will absolutely get again if I come back, some decent dishes that weren't bad or amazing, and some dishes that will not be ordering again. Must try: - Soup dumplings were spectacular, very flavorful and greatly priced. - Shrimp dumplings in chili oil, the sauce wasn't really a chili oil but a sweet soy sauce, I wasn't mad because it was delicious and the shrimp was meaty and flavorful. - Beef flat noodle stir fry was delicious, stand out dish. The noodles were flat and wide and flavorful, and the beef was tender. It had this amazing charred wok hei flavor that elevated the dish, and very reasonably priced. - Fish fillet with eggplant in clay pot was delicious as well. Flavor profile is more on the subtle side, but the fish and eggplant worked together so well and were very soft and tender. The sauce was this light black peppered soy sauce that had a hint of sweetness, amazing over rice. - Fried rice was delicious as well. They cooked it in a WOK so it had that charred wok hei flavor that I've never tasted at any other restaurant. That extra flavor alone makes it worth trying. Dishes that missed: - mapu tofu had to much sezchuan, it was a overwhelming flavor and it overpowered the entire dish leaving a numbing soapy sensation. It didn't have much flavor besides the sezchuan. - Braised pork belly, I wished it was more tender and had more flavor, it was salty and didn't have much depth to the sauce. If you're Asian, then you're very familiar with the various braised pork belly dishes and the complex flavors they have, but this one didn't hit. read more

I'm honestly not sure how this place has such high ratings. I ordered the orange chicken, and it tasted nothing like orange chicken. It seemed like it had been cooked earlier and simply reheated. I also tried the hot and sour soup, which was one of the worst I've had. It tasted like it was made with a beef broth base instead of the tangy, spicy flavor you would expect. The crab rangoons were okay, but they were the only thing I didn't completely dislike. The food was edible, but that's about the best I can say. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. read more

I've always been a green bean girly, but man these spicy long beans are to die for. If it were up to me, I'd come here multiple times a week just for them (not pictured), they're that good! They serve the beans as an entrée with a side of rice, and it fills me right up every time. Our server is always so kind and attentive, and I love how she ends each meal with a little treat, such a sweet touch. I even brought my coworkers recently, and they couldn't stop raving about the food. Everything we've tried here has been delicious and authentic. My partner even said it reminded him of the food his Chinese grandmother used to eat, which says a lot about how good it is. I'm honestly mad at myself for not discovering this spot sooner. This is the best Chinese restaurant I've found in Tulsa. I order from them 1 or 2 times every month. The chinese broccoli has an authentic black bean sauce flavor, and the sweet and sour ribs are absolutely delicious, my two kids love these two dishes the most. My husband and I are big fans of the chinese sour pickle fish fillet and the beef in chili sauce. Not only is the flavor amazing, but the portion sizes are also very generous. Every time we order four dishes, we always have leftovers for lunch the next day. It's such great value, highly recommended!!! read more

This is a new Chinese restaurant in Broken Arrow. A fellow reviewer gave the restaurant a great review so I knew I had to check it out. After scouring through the menu, I decided to go for entrees I typically don't see at other Chinese restaurants, only a few items by the way. I decided to get the braised whole bass with chef special sauce at market price which was $45. This is a lot of money so I asked the server if the fish is big to which she replied "yes." When it came out, I didn't think it was big. So they reduced the price to $38.95. The server told me they reduced the price for some reason but I couldn't exactly understand what she said. When being offered with lower price, I always simply accept and say thank you. The braised bass was good but I am still not sure about the price. I liked the fish filet and eggplant with black pepper sauce clay pot much better. The price was much more affordable $15.95, and the amount of eggplants and fish were more than enough. The sauce made the eggplants tasted so freaking delicious. I devoured everything that night by myself. This restaurant is best for group dining and family style dining. That way, you'll get to try many different dishes. I don't know if I could compare Szchezuan House to Chengdu, but I would give Chengdu a notch for the higher value. I feel like Szechuan House needs to re-evaluate the prices on some of their entrees though. read more

Went looking for the Tokyo Sushi restaurant in same location. This place opened in its place a few weeks ago. The place is clean. The staff were friendly (albeit still getting into a groove). The food was pretty good. There were some nuances. But I think they will work out over time. 1) The waitress brought me steamed rice instead of fried. She was extremely apologetic. I was a little surprised she did t leave it so I could begin eating. Luckily the food was pretty hot. So I waited. Was just starting to eat without rice when she brought it. So it was clearly fresh cooked. 2). The Mao Braised Pork was a first for me. So it might be how it's supposed to be. But I found it to have excellent flavor but some pieces were excessively fatty. I just cut them with my fork. 3). I asked for water with lemon. For first time probably ever. It came with lemon already in it. It might have even had some ginger or something. I can't say it was good or that it was bad. Certainly different. The waitress was extremely apologetic abt my rice. She even gave me a free can of pop as an apology. She was asking about food. I always struggle communicating with Chinese speakers. So just said it was good, which it was. read more

Ambience is typical family restaurant with booths only. Huge prize: the presence of Asian patrons which indicates more authentic cuisine than most Chinese restaurants in the area that try to make the food more palatable to American taste--think Panda Express. The menu is in both English and Chinese. The variety of dishes was considerably more than we have grown accustomed to since moving here in 2008. My husband had the fried fish and fried rice. Both were very good. The batter on the fish was light like tempura but not tempura. The fried rice had some seasoning that gave a hint of sweetness and was unlike any fried rice I've had. I normally go for spicy dishes and with such a large variety of dishes new to me, I decide to be adventurous and ordered the fried beef with cumin. I'm of Mexican descent and cook with cumin which I love. The beef was thinly sliced and very tender. However there was a little too much cumin. (It will be repeating on me all night.) Our server asked if I liked my meal and I was honest with her. She offered to make it again with less cumin!!! I was not expecting that. My plan was to take it home and doctors it to tone down the cumin a bit. A+ for customer service. But that's not all. My husband was very hungry and getting grumpy. So nice to have another authentic Chinese food restaurant in Tulsa! They had a lot of different dishes in their menu that the other Chinese restaurants in Tulsa don't have. They are newly open so it seems like they are short staffed still we had a party of 6 and ordered a lot of dishes and it took awhile for everything we ordered to come out. Don't mind my pictures as we were hungry and already digging in before I could snap the shot. The only dish that I was not as impressed with was the shredded pork with sweet bean sauce it didn't have as much flavor as it should have. Everything else was fantastic and my favorite dish was the eggplant with fish. Overall their service was friendly and their food is reasonably priced and pretty good! Would recommend. read more

*Take out experience* Best thing we had were the Soup Dumpling, very generously filled and very flavorful 8.5/10, the Pork Dumplings in chili oil were very solid but lacked a little uniqueness. 8/10. The orange chicken was good, but nothing too amazing. 8/10. We were guests of our Chinese friends, none of us ever eating here before. They are natives of Beijing who have not found really acceptable Chinese food in the Tulsa area. The food here is not the traditional Cantonese-American menu found virtually everywhere. We had 8 dishes; pork tenderloin, braised beef, chicken, seafood and vegetables (the green beans were a wonderful knockout!). Calamari was an early dish and I could have eaten the entire bowl (I often judge restaurants by the quality of their calamari!). Lots of variety. The portions here are large. Safe south Tulsa location. Food comes out quick. The fried calamari uses a unique batter but is real good. The dry crispy spicy chicken is not too spicy (unless you eat the chilies with it, but don't expect the usual cone basket to come with it. It doesn't matter, the chicken is juicy and perfectly fried. I work across the street so I decided to try this place, I got the spicy beef soup and it was very tasteless, needed more meat and definitely more veggies or adds ons. I was disappointed, I ended up adding my own seasonings to make it at least a little better like garlic, salt/pepper/ chili oil and lemon.. im goign to try other things! This place is horrible! Literally the worst sesame chicken ever. Frozen sesame chicken you cook at home is better. If you're looking for what most of us call sesame chicken this is not it.
