This experience reminds me of the Melting Pot. We ordered the hot pot soups, and just like the Melting Pot, it is served with your choice of meats, seafoods, veggies and noodles. Other than the hot pot, Mandarin Taste also serves hearty dishes that I can t wait to go back and try. We decided to do a lunch special all you can eat hot pot since it sounded like a cool deal. Half original, half Szechuan (spicy) soup is what we opted to have...The fresh sides were brought out after the hot pot is placed on the table. Once you get going with the immersing of the meats - my favorite being the pork belly, shrimp, cabbage, corn, mushroom, you will not stop. The food is fresh, and delicious. They also offer fruit smoothies and nice cold coffee options. The dessert display was a bit a downer...only 2 to chose from. Oh, well. God was watching after me:) I would just make a suggestion to clean down the tables with "clean" towels. Our table was sticky, and a bit grimy. The service though was very good. So, yeah. That's it. My husband and I have been going to mandarin taste for years now. We loved eating at their old location, but since the new location opened up, we've been even more blown away. The atmosphere is beautiful, beyond clean, and the tables/seating are perfect for conversation. It's a welcoming restaurant and the family I've brought has been impressed. The dishes we most often order are the pork dumplings, ma po tofu, pork belly buns, cheese wontons, and most recently the lamb on a stick. When I first started coming I was very used to the Chinese restaurants I experienced in Connecticut. The spices here are a lot different because the food is Szechuan style. When we first came years ago, we didn't know what to get but after trying the owner's recommendations, we were thrilled with the different flavors and options. I would recommend going in person, asking what you should try first before you switch to takeout. The takeout and delivery they offer always arrives hot and fresh and they're on our normal rotation! Delicious and different than any other Chinese restaurant in the area. They've increased their staff since moving a ton, they've hired many new servers and hosts. I'm writing this review and they've only had these new folks for a few months. Ask questions and be patient and kind as they begin this new journey. You absolutely won't be sorry that you tried them! I've heard that folks had a bad experience on Christmas. We went on Christmas Eve and had a WONDERFUL time. Yes it took a few more minutes, they were also the only restaurant open in the area and had table tops of very large parties (we were in a room with two other parties of over 10 people each). If you go out to eat on holidays, you've got to expect longer wait times and just be kind. The servers, chefs, and hosts working were hustling, they just had a massive demand. Tried this place for the first time. I got the house special lo mein. It was A-mazing! The dish had the perfect amount of flavor without tasting overly salty like some places. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We were first time customers the customer service was extremely disappointing because this place came highly recommended. We arrived at 8pm they don't close until 9:30pm. The server outside was locking up the tables and we politely asked could we be seated at the table that was not locked and she told us "yes!" We walked on the inside to be seated by the hostess only to be greeted by the most rude woman whom happen to say she was going to be our server instead, she was visibly upset that we ask to sit outside and proceeded to hand me menus and silverware and told me to seat myself. I was taken back by the gesture and comment and also just her blatant rude behavior to a customer! We went outside and sat for 5 minutes before anyone came out the rude server ended up sending another server (also rude) out to the table with two waters. I asked the server should we just sit inside to receive better service and also just be treated properly especially since that is the most common way to handle a customer at a restaurant. He was super passive and dismissive about my question at that point we just got up and left. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is very nice. I give people the benefit of the doubt and understand people have "bad days" we all need grace but their behavior was unacceptable and unnecessary. But yes, due to the pandemic the place is still operating in limited capacity and limited menu. But if there's anything you'd like you can always call ahead and they'll make sure to have that item. I recommend the appetizer sampler, the pork dumplings are fantastic but I enjoyed the sampler more. I also loved the chive and egg delight in their vegetable section, that is a must try. This was our first time to eat here and although the orange chicken was very delicious, the Dan Dan noodles were nothing short of plain and dry. Our waiter was attentive and brought out the first meal - the orange chicken as soon as it was ready. But then it was a full 15 minutes before the Dan Dan Noodles arrived at our table, and so my husband and I ate our meals completely separately. When we questioned the manager/owner, she tried to throw our waiter under the bus by telling us he was new and he should've explained to us that it was the restaurant's policy to bring out the food as it's ready... even if this means that people at the same table will be eating at different times. This is a peculiar practice for a restaurant, one I've never encountered before, and the uppity attitude of the manager really left a sour taste in our mouths... so we can't be certain that we will even give them another chance... we certainly weren't given an incentive to do so. This restaurant has decent food. Got to try out a variety of dishes here. The first dish that I tried out was the hot and sour soup (as an appetizer) and tasted great. It had the right amount of salt/seasoning it. For the actual main dishes, I tried out the kung pao chicken, cilantro chicken, singapore noodles, and mixed vegetable chicken. My favorite dish here was probably the kung pao chicken, as it had the right amount of spice and a slight sweetness to it. The cilantro chicken also had great seasoning to it. The Singapore noodles and mixed vegetable chicken were both decent, but not as good as the kung pao/cilantro chicken. In terms of service, it could use some work. Took quite a while for a server to initially come to our table. Also, when we asked for something like extra plates, it also took quite a while, which made some of our food dishes cold. We've had lunch here several times. As of June 2021, their lunch specials are $8.00. We like the Kung Pao chicken a lot. We usually order different things and share but we tried the tofu and beef on the lunch menu and didn't like them so we both order Kung Pao chicken. That's ok because we like it so much we both clean our plates. The fried rice is above average. The service has always been good. However, the last couple times I've ordered I've tried the sesame chicken, which is typically my go-to Chinese take out dish. The first time, the chicken was a little soggy. This time, it was the polar opposite. The chicken tasted dry, over-fried, and old. The actual inside was so over cooked that it was brown/crispy and didn't even look or taste like chicken. The only person was greeter/waiter/DoorDash assembler, while everyone else was in the back of house. Then the hostess disappeared a few times for up to 5 mins at a time. The phone was ringing out loud no one was answering it, then their DoorDash iPad started, beeping uncontrollably, all topped off with Christmas music too, not conducive to enjoying food. Could not salvage or enjoy the scraps of veg that was a whopping $13. Everything is ala cart, or you can spend $40 pp for AYCE. I advised the server that the soup is too spicy and salty, to my palate, not drinkable. Her suggestion was to mix the soups and went back in the kitchen. By the time the server came around, I just asked for the check... I was over it. As we were leaving someone I think the manager or owner, came out to help her. Truly disappointed. Not sure if I will ever come back. There are other HOT Pots I've had here in Tulsa with 5 different type of HOT pot soups & the veg is included in the $13. This rating is 3.5 stars. Visited on a late Friday night (9 pm) after seeing it advertised on social media. We had no idea this has been here 10 years. It's a hot pot, dim sum, authentic Chinese menu that is quite extensive. We ordered the pork dumplings and shrimp dumplings (4 of each in an order), the spring rolls, Mongolian beef, and Singapore noodles with pork. The noodles came out first. They were lightly curried with vegetables and pork per my request. I think they added chicken though too. The noodles were really good and not overloaded with curry. The Mongolian beef came next. It was super tender and had plenty of onions. White rice came on the side. We had to ask about the egg rolls and dumplings, and we were told they take a while. They eventually arrived, and the dumplings were so-so while the spring rolls were good. No dipping sauces accompanied the dumplings, but they did bring a vinegar soy sauce when I asked about it. The interior is nothing special and they had an AC condensation issue with water leaking along exposed duct work in the middle of the dining area. The main dishes were good, and other diner's dishes looked nice as well. I would probably order it to go next time as the dining room was a bit of a mess. Service was fine though. read more

This is the only restaurant in town that serves hot pot, where we select a variety of raw meats such as lamb, chicken, pork belly, fish balls, or beef and vegetables including bok choy, several mushrooms, or tofu to throw into either a regular or spicy boiling soup pot and cook it on our own. They also have a sauce bar available to select and/or mix a variety of dipping sauces and condiments or garnishes such as green onions, cilantro, garlic, and ginger. Anyone who craves some good old hot pot must come here and try their delicious items! We've also tried their Dim Sum platter including Xiao Long Bao (pork soup dumplings) and their Shan Xi noodles. I would not get those again as they tasted too plain with not enough flavor.
