    Bruschetta

Chops is still an outstanding place for a casual dinner or a special occasion. It has been a while since I visited last. I was impressed with the styling of the decor and comfortable seating. There is lots of beautiful wood and colors that welcome you. The large booth we sat in was soft and incredibly comfortable. The host and waiter were very friendly and professional. Steve, our waiter, was outstanding. He knew his menu and had great suggestions. We started with a wine selection. The house Sauvignon Blanc was excellent. The wine glasses were large and very pretty. They seemed to glow with the lighting in the restaurant. The table bread is a tasty sour dough. The crust is slightly crunchy with a very soft interior. The butter is straight up creamy butter without seasoning. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. The tomato and greens were very fresh. The balsamic vinegar was crisp with a nice bite. The bread was well toasted...very crunchy. Perhaps too crunchy for my taste. So crunchy that you couldn't cut it with a fork. Crunchy enough that the veggies fell off with each bite. My wife started with the tomato crab bisque soup - outstanding!! The soup was very creamy and had a smooth crab taste. The tomato sauce was very mild and gave way to the seafood base. There were chunks of crab in the soup. Excellent starter! My Caesar salad was very fresh. The fresh Parmesan was delicious. The dressing was mild and lightly applied. The croutons were very crunchy like the bruschetta. I loved the anchovies as they had a fresh, non fishy and low salt taste. The seafood manicotti was fabulous! The shell was tender and stuffed with lots of crab and shrimp. The filling was delicious with a mild seafood taste. The red sauce is where you pick up the ricotta taste with a hint of tomato. I had the chicken Alfredo bow tie pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly...soft and firmly cuttable. The chicken was cut into small pieces, moist and had a bit of a grill char taste. The mushrooms and sweet onions were an excellent accent. The sauce was thin in consistency but had a nice Alfredo taste. The Alfredo didn't over power the dish like you would get with a traditional fettuccine Alfredo dish. Give Chops a try soon if you haven't been here in a while or ever. You won't be disappointed in the food, service or complete dinning experience!

    Sea bass with risotto

This was a fantastic dinner, and I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. I was hesitant to order the sea bass special since it was $65, but sea bass is one of my favorites, so I decided to splurge. It was perfectly cooked, and so delicious. My only minor criticisms would be that they went a bit overboard with the micro greens (no biggie, they're easy enough to take off), and the risotto was a little congealed (think of the consistency of cold mac & cheese), but it still tasted great. Service was amazing as well. Our server and the guy at the host stand were friendly and genuinely cared about giving us a wonderful evening.

The dining room is small and elegant. Wait staff was well heeled and knowledgeable. The goat cheese croutons on the chop salad is a total must: creamy, lemony goat cheese pairs fantastically with the greens. Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection (medium). I was skeptical about the mashed potatoes (wouldn't a baked potato be better?) but these were packed with flavor: bacon, cheese, green onions- like the center of a loaded baked potato. Crème Brûlée was a bit tough but passable. Overall my date and I were wowed by our experience at Chops. I don't give five stars unless the meal is truly excellent and surpasses expectations. Chops did it for us tonight. Bravo!

It was my wife's birthday and my wife picked Chop's to have her celebration dinner. We arrived at 5p when they opened and was seated immediately. The entire staff were clad in facemask and they were constantly cleaning areas that were compromised My wife orders the French onion soup, which she said she loved. She decided on the Filet and grilled Scallops and I opted for the Chicken Marsala. I have to admit, the chicken II was served was the most moist and tender I had ever had. It comes on a "semi" hunter style and the Marsala sauce was light and not over powering. My wife's Filet and Scallops we cooked to perfection the way she likes and was very flavorful. Our server, Jennifer, was extremely pleasant and when she found out it was my wife's birthday, she offered a free desert and packed it to go for us. All in all, a great experience and we will be returning.

I love Chop's! Whenever I'm back home, I try to stop in for at least some crab cakes and a martini. The tomato crab bisque is also one of my favs! This night I went, they had a coffee crusted NY Strip as a special and it was truly amazing. Our waitress was lovely, and gave great recommendations throughout the night and they accommodated us being late for our reservation. Great place!

Signature salad and chicken tortilla soup

As anyone who follows me knows, i hate giving bad reviews. So please understand that we didn't have anything that one might consider to be a staple meal at Chops, so I will update this review if i eat here again. I'll start by saying that the staff was great. Attentive and professional. And the French martini was on point. That being said, the misses ordered the crispy goat cheese salad while I ordered the "Chop's signature salad" and soup of the day, which was chicken tortilla. The soup was on point. The bread they put on the table was pretty good, but the salads ? How do I say this without sounding mean or pompous? The "goat chees croutons" were the best part of the salads. On the menu, they looked great, but on the plate, not so much. I'm no Gordon Ramsey, but what they reminded me of was a salad that I made for dinner on Monday and kept in the fridge until Wednesday. Wet, soggy, and bland. The "signature salad " was supposed to come with some kind of ranch dressing, which one might assume to be a creamy dressing. As you can see in the picture, it was apparently the very rare and elusive "transparent" ranch that so few chefs are able to master. Both looked like they were scooped out of a big plastic tray with a bowl and plopped on the plate, dressed with a few pieces of fresh ingredients to give the appearance on a freshly made salad. I understand that salads are probably not their claim to fame, but in a restaurant that is at the higher end of the local price scale, you expect a salad that is made fresh to order and tastes that way. Frankly, I've had better salads at diners and takeout places.

Well when you go to a place named Chops you know what you are going to get, lol. Prime rib with au jus was cooked to perfection. It was served with mashed potatoes and house veggies. Waitress recommended the Chop Signature salad. It was delightful and had lettuce of course along with crumbled bleu cheese, carrots, tomatoes, bacon and egg. It was set off with a lovely peppercorn ranch dressing along with cucumbers and onions. Could not get enough, it was that good. Hubby had the crispy goat cheese salad made of mixed greens, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, balsamic vinaigrette topped with breaded goat cheese crotons. Hubby devoured the salad so it was definitely good. Service was quick and everyone had masks and gloves. Heard soft music with enjoyable lightning and out of this world martini. The raspberry lemon drop was superb and I had 2. Saw a couple on a date, and tables were well spaced. Take a trip, the food is great

It was alright -- nothing special, but given the size and volume of the place, I don't necessarily expect everything to be made completely fresh to order. It did the job. The service was also just alright. My interaction with the barista/bartender was brief and unfortunately a bit stale. She wasn't rude, just not particularly warm or memorable. Overall, it's a convenient place with a lot of options, but the experience itself was pretty average.

The bartender was kind and polite and quick with the service. There were only about three or four tables with people, let them during the course of my time. A few other folks came and sat at the bar. I heard it a side salad with salmon and it came out to me pretty quickly. The flavor was delicious, the salmon, well cooked, and the apple vinaigrette dressing on the salad was delightful. The biggest challenge, was a table with a few children sitting at it. This is no fault of the restaurant, and really, not even the result of my four-star rating. This is merely a statement: if your children are misbehaving and screaming and banging things on the table while other people are trying to eat their dinner, then perhaps the best option is to remove the children from the restaurant. It's always surprising to me when parents are selfish and subject everyone else in the vicinity around them to the poor behavior of their children. As a parent myself, I would never do that to other people. When you go out to a nice restaurant, you want to relax and enjoy the time not listen to tantrums from a three year old. Even the bartender in the servers were frustrated with this table. Some people even walked out after sitting down when they realize that unbelievable noise is coming from one table. I have come to appreciate the freshness of their sandwiches lately. My wife had the chicken Caesar wrap. She liked the moist chicken, light tasting dressing and soft wrap. The potato salad was fairly standard with most. It had a nice mustard-mayo taste and consistency. It might have been a little heavy on the mayo. The egg and celery were good touches. Very smooth! The McAlister Club sandwich was filed high with delicious turkey and ham. The Swiss and cheddar cheese...plus toppings made a nice sandwich. The white bread was nicely toasted without being overly crispy. Just enough mayo to blend the tastes. The 1/2 salad, on the 2 choice deal, is enough for a whole meal. It's a real club salad. All the fresh meats, cheeses and toppings. Lots of croutons. The honey mustard dressing is thick and spicy. All blended to an enjoyable taste. The Mac & cheese side was rather small. The noodles were a bit mushy and over cooked. The cheese sauce comes off a bit "institutional". Perhaps a flavor that you would find at school or a place who isn't focused on a designer Mac & cheese. It was very creamy and had a mild cheese flavor. I liked the tee shirts the staff was wearing to promote their tea. McAlister's special tea is like drinking a hug - per the shirt. The tea has a nice smooth/warm/soothing taste. It kind of reminds you of a southern style tea. However, it isn't over the top sugary. It also doesn't have a bold strong tea taste. It's good...and I almost felt the hug lol.

Sunday around noon o'clock and it was pretty a pretty busy place. We reached the corner to place our order after a short wait and the gentleman behind the corner took our order. He spoke very quietly and I felt bad having to ask him to repeat nearly everything. After we gave him our order and he repeated it I questioned it if it was right. At the point another employee came back and asked us what it was. It turns out he was a new employee and still finding his way. No problem. No one starts out an expert at anything. The nice lady got it straightened out and we sat down to wait. A few minute later a manager came by and apologized and said he thought our order wasn't entered correctly. We told him that was the case originally, but it was corrected by another employee and it was good now. The food took about ten minutes and wasn't presented as the prettiest meal I've ever eaten. Both lids on my Jalapeño Turkey Crunch appeared to be sliding off the side and the pickled looked like it had been mushed in the hands of a toddle, barely resembling a pickle. It made it a VERY messy, high-napkin-utilization meal. While the tables were addressed quickly after diners leaving, the floors were another story. Yes, it was lunch rush, but at the same time it takes a micro-second to pick up an errant straw wrapper or napkin. This location has a nice outside seating area with several table and umbrellas. It was a bit too hot/humid for us to eat outside, but in better weather we'd have absolutely eaten outside.
