Tonights experience was not quite what we've come to expect. We were greeted and warmly welcomed by the hostess. Seated promptly. Love the modern decor and atmosphere, especially with its' open kitchen! Our server was very friendly. Took about 20 minutes to get the beverages we ordered, but an apology was offered, and everything was delivered to our table promptly thereafter, and with a genuine smile. She was actually EXCELLENT, and acted as though it was a pleasure to serve us! French Onion Soup is one of the best in this area. Broth is complex and delicious. Authentic! So good, forgot to take a pic until it was nearly gone! Entrees came w/choice of salad. We both chose the never-disappointing house chopped salad. Hubby got the NY Strip, perfectly grilled, accompanied by fabulous herb-roasted baby potatoes (highly recommend!) and fresh green beans. I chose the hangar steak with herb-cheesy mashed potato and asparagus sides. Steak was exactly as ordered! Asparagus was surprisingly very thin, dry, and not of the usual CHOPS quality we've come to expect. Happened to be hubby's BD, and he was treated to a moist, chocolaty brownie sundae (candle and all!). Overall a great evening, just a couple of glitches that made us take away 1/2 star...BUT! I've been coming to Chops for 20 years. Sadly what had been a top choice has gradually fallen to avoidance. The food remains great, the service is good, the problem is there is no pride in keeping the public areas clean. A few months ago it was the amount in dust on the bar shelves. Several times the entry door and floor was obviously not cleaned for more than a day. Friday I booked a business lunch and at noon, the floors hadn't been cleaned from the previous business day. The men's room was dirty. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is , if there is no pride taken in the presentation of the other areas of the restaurant. I'm okay with the exception, but now it is common not to expect a clean environment at Chops. Outside of an occasional carryout, my dine-in is most likely done. read more

Went midweek with a large party, and had a great experience. The servers worked hard and efficiently, explained menus clearly, and kept things moving. The kitchen staff got our neals out as quickly as possible, and well prepared. The food was expensive, but almost always worth the price. Another diner noted that the Alfredo sauce was thin, though still tasty. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and good quality, but both it and its sauce were light on both salt and flavor. Sides were good. Portions are large, especially the ribs, which looked like a whole slab stacked on the plate. Drinks were good. Atmosphere was good. Dim lights, calm and spacious. I took my mom here for lunch today for her birthday. When we walked in the overwhelming smell of sewage greeted us. We decided to tough it out anyway. We were seated in the bar in a booth. The booth was kinda sticky. Dusten came right over and provided placemats to help with the stickiness, which he said was due to the building being humid. We both got water and wine. We also ordered walleye fingers as an appetizer. Dusten also suggested fish specials and the soup of the day- chicken poblano. I ordered the soup and a chopped salad with a goat cheese crouton. Mom got the fish special and another glass of wine. Everything was hot and delicious! Dusten was so attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. My mom loved him. He made her lunch so special with his wonderful service. He went above and beyond in every way. We didn't even notice the sewer smell! I forgot to take pictures but highly recommend. Chops is still an outstanding place for a casual dinner or a special occasion. It has been a while since I visited last. I was impressed with the styling of the decor and comfortable seating. There is lots of beautiful wood and colors that welcome you. The large booth we sat in was soft and incredibly comfortable. The host and waiter were very friendly and professional. Steve, our waiter, was outstanding. He knew his menu and had great suggestions. We started with a wine selection. The house Sauvignon Blanc was excellent. The wine glasses were large and very pretty. They seemed to glow with the lighting in the restaurant. The table bread is a tasty sour dough. The crust is slightly crunchy with a very soft interior. The butter is straight up creamy butter without seasoning. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. The tomato and greens were very fresh. The balsamic vinegar was crisp with a nice bite. The bread was well toasted...very crunchy. Perhaps too crunchy for my taste. So crunchy that you couldn't cut it with a fork. Crunchy enough that the veggies fell off with each bite. My wife started with the tomato crab bisque soup - outstanding!! The soup was very creamy and had a smooth crab taste. The tomato sauce was very mild and gave way to the seafood base. There were chunks of crab in the soup. Excellent starter! My Caesar salad was very fresh. The fresh Parmesan was delicious. The dressing was mild and lightly applied. The croutons were very crunchy like the bruschetta. I loved the anchovies as they had a fresh, non fishy and low salt taste. The seafood manicotti was fabulous! The shell was tender and stuffed with lots of crab and shrimp. The filling was delicious with a mild seafood taste. The red sauce is where you pick up the ricotta taste with a hint of tomato. I had the chicken Alfredo bow tie pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly...soft and firmly cuttable. The chicken was cut into small pieces, moist and had a bit of a grill char taste. The mushrooms and sweet onions were an excellent accent. The sauce was thin in consistency but had a nice Alfredo taste. The Alfredo didn't over power the dish like you would get with a traditional fettuccine Alfredo dish. Give Chops a try soon if you haven't been here in a while or ever. We were there celebrating a military reunion on 5/14/26. Our reservation was for 6:30. We got there at 6:20 and were seated immediately. There were 9 in our group and there was one other couple in the restaurant. Our server gave us the specials and we ordered our drinks. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and one drink was not correct and they remade it. We were a group of nine, 3 Couples and 3 singles and asked if we could get separate checks. No problem. We ordered our entrees and when they came out, one ( a rib eye) was not served until 15 minutes after the rest of us were served. When the checks came, three of them were totally incorrect. One had someone elses drinks on theirs and one had a different entree. The server corrected them and they were still wrong. They were corrected again and were still wrong but we settled it among ourselves. While the steaks were good, the potatoes were overdone.We did not leave the restaurant until 8:40. Would I recommend this restaurant, NO and neither would the other 8 in our group. read more

This was a fantastic dinner, and I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. I was hesitant to order the sea bass special since it was $65, but sea bass is one of my favorites, so I decided to splurge. It was perfectly cooked, and so delicious. My only minor criticisms would be that they went a bit overboard with the micro greens (no biggie, they're easy enough to take off), and the risotto was a little congealed (think of the consistency of cold mac & cheese), but it still tasted great. The goat cheese croutons on the chop salad is a total must: creamy, lemony goat cheese pairs fantastically with the greens. Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection (medium). I was skeptical about the mashed potatoes (wouldn't a baked potato be better?) but these were packed with flavor: bacon, cheese, green onions- like the center of a loaded baked potato. Crème Brûlée was a bit tough but passable. Overall my date and I were wowed by our experience at Chops. I don't give five stars unless the meal is truly excellent and surpasses expectations. It was my wife's birthday and my wife picked Chop's to have her celebration dinner. We arrived at 5p when they opened and was seated immediately. The entire staff were clad in facemask and they were constantly cleaning areas that were compromised My wife orders the French onion soup, which she said she loved. She decided on the Filet and grilled Scallops and I opted for the Chicken Marsala. I have to admit, the chicken II was served was the most moist and tender I had ever had. It comes on a "semi" hunter style and the Marsala sauce was light and not over powering. My wife's Filet and Scallops we cooked to perfection the way she likes and was very flavorful. Our server, Jennifer, was extremely pleasant and when she found out it was my wife's birthday, she offered a free desert and packed it to go for us. Excellent food, excellent service. Very accommodating. Atmosphere was nice and quiet for a late Friday evening. The drinks were well made.

We had the Easter Brunch Buffet. The food was excellent. My wife had the Prime Rib as her main meal and I had the Chops Salad. There were many other options and everything looked excellent. You could order omelettes, biscuits and gravy, pancakes or waffles made fresh in the kitchen. They had all manners of desserts. When I returned to the buffet to gather a piece of cheesecake the plate was empty. I asked our server to let me know when there was more so I could get back in line. Che came back to our table with a wonderful piece of cheesecake so I didn't have to get back in line. For a buffet, the service was excellent. The next buffet is Mothers Day. As anyone who follows me knows, i hate giving bad reviews. So please understand that we didn't have anything that one might consider to be a staple meal at Chops, so I will update this review if i eat here again. I'll start by saying that the staff was great. Attentive and professional. And the French martini was on point. That being said, the misses ordered the crispy goat cheese salad while I ordered the "Chop's signature salad" and soup of the day, which was chicken tortilla. The soup was on point. The bread they put on the table was pretty good, but the salads ? How do I say this without sounding mean or pompous? The "goat chees croutons" were the best part of the salads. On the menu, they looked great, but on the plate, not so much. I'm no Gordon Ramsey, but what they reminded me of was a salad that I made for dinner on Monday and kept in the fridge until Wednesday. Wet, soggy, and bland. The "signature salad " was supposed to come with some kind of ranch dressing, which one might assume to be a creamy dressing. As you can see in the picture, it was apparently the very rare and elusive "transparent" ranch that so few chefs are able to master. Both looked like they were scooped out of a big plastic tray with a bowl and plopped on the plate, dressed with a few pieces of fresh ingredients to give the appearance on a freshly made salad. I understand that salads are probably not their claim to fame, but in a restaurant that is at the higher end of the local price scale, you expect a salad that is made fresh to order and tastes that way. I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon with Brussel sprouts and rice. Since I couldn't decide initially between the Shrimp and salmon the bartender "B" recommended I get the salmon and add the shrimp. Great idea!! The blue cheese and sweet onion confit on the salmon was delicious! There were two thinner pieces of salmon that were filling. The edges were a bit over cooked and crispy. The blacked shrimp were good, but I personally would have liked to have tasted some sort of flavor or seasoning. The brussel sprouts were good and the rice was flavorful. I ordered the Cesar salad and it was one of the best I've had. There was a complementary bread loaf too. I ordered the Red, bright and blueberry martini. It was sweet and sour as the description states, but more on the sour side. I personally prefer more sweet. I sat in the bar area since I had been out shopping and I was not dressed up. I engaged or tried to engage with the bartenders and waitstaff. The bartenders were nice enough to have a conversation with me since I was there solo. I have been a HUGE fan of Chops over the years; however, I have to say that my lunch experience yesterday was a HUGE disappointment! The Chop salad was great as always to start with a positive.... That being said, The burger was way over done. The bar tender (sat in the bar) had to be reminded at least 3-4 times to just get us water (that's all we had to drink). I desperately needed mayo and ketchup to try and "mask" the way-over-done charred piece of beef. He FINALLY brought me some after my burger was 3/4 eaten (had to go back to work of course). They also messed up the pricing on other person's meal......and the manager proceeded to argue with us about it even though she told us up front their was a cheaper option for the same meal. Sadly, this one experience has probably convinced me not to go back. I used to put Chops above most higher end places; however, after this experience I have to say goodbye!!!!......and I will miss the Chop salad..... read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Backstory: My parents and their friends have been coming to Chops for 10 years and we had my mom's 65th birthday in the wine bar 5 years ago. We've always loved Chops because Chuck and Kara Pastor did an amazing job and truly cared about their customers. Unfortunately, Chops has declined A LOT since the new owners have taken over. I contacted Stacy, the event coordinator/one of the "owners", on March 28th to make plans for my mom's surprise 70th birthday. We spoke a few times over the next week and she gave me a few options for spaces. Once I got into town, I stopped into the bar on Thursday to speak directly to one of the owners because I hadn't heard from Stacy. At that point, the party was 5 days away. I sat at the bar and spoke to Dave, who showed me we were on their calendar but wasn't aware of the plans. I let him know again how much we've enjoyed coming here over the years and I explained what we were wanting for my moms party. He assured me he would talk to Stacy and the other owner to confirm the details. From the beginning, Stacy seemed hesitant about the party because we did not want to do a plated dinner. We just wanted heavy appetizers and cocktails/wine. We were planning on spending $300-400+ on appetizers alone. The private room was going to be approximately $900 and was only available if we have a sit down dinner. The party was planned for a Tuesday, which we knew would not interfere with their normal weekend rush, so we hoped we could use the space in the wine bar or regular bar area for the 30 guests without making it a private event. I called AGAIN on Friday afternoon because I hadn't heard anything. Eventually Dave called me and informed me that they are unwilling to accommodate our party because we weren't having dinner and they wouldn't make any money off of us. I explained again that we would be ordering a good amount of appetizers and of course 2-3+ drinks a person, but he just keep saying they are UWILLING to accommodate us. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked if we could just make a reservation for a few tables in the dining room and he said yes we could do that but we would have to order dinner because we would be taking up space for guests who want to eat dinner?? I've been to chops many times and just ordered drinks alone. Eventually Dave said we can't make a reservation and that if we came in, he would refuse service. I asked him if he was willing to lose 30 customers over this and he said "are you threatening me!?" I said "no, I am asking you a question because we have had my mom's party here in the past and we've been coming here for 10 years." He said "well my staff has no memory of your party 5 years ago!" (Probably because they can't keep staff). Anyways, we will never be coming back to Chops and I can assure you, they have lost 30 customers. It's sad to see a local business like this go downhill because of horrible owners. We did have the party at Summit Grill, who was extremely accommodating AND gave us a private room for free because again, it was a Tuesday night. We had an amazing party for my mom and I am so glad it worked out that way and we didn't give our money to those unprofessional people. Avoid Chops at all cost. read more

Well when you go to a place named Chops you know what you are going to get, lol. Prime rib with au jus was cooked to perfection. It was served with mashed potatoes and house veggies. Waitress recommended the Chop Signature salad. It was delightful and had lettuce of course along with crumbled bleu cheese, carrots, tomatoes, bacon and egg. It was set off with a lovely peppercorn ranch dressing along with cucumbers and onions. Could not get enough, it was that good. Hubby had the crispy goat cheese salad made of mixed greens, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, balsamic vinaigrette topped with breaded goat cheese crotons. Hubby devoured the salad so it was definitely good. Service was quick and everyone had masks and gloves. Heard soft music with enjoyable lightning and out of this world martini. The food was pretty good and I've been there a couple of times. The only complaint that I have is that the last time I went there for lunch I sat in the booth in the bar and there was no one else in there at the moment that point, so the hostess seats, someone at the table right next to me, which is very close, and during the entire time, the girl proceeded to play her phone with some sort of a show or some thing in a full volume mode. After a couple minutes, I thought maybe she would understand some manners and put her headphones on but nope she just continued in a selfish way to play her phone. What also was disturbing is that none of the staff came over and requested that she silence her phone for the comfort of other customers, disgusting lack of respect for others. Went in for lunch with my brothers and dad. My dad works all the time as a painter, so his attire reflected that. We arrived and the host said, "can i help you?" I said, "yeah 4." She then said "let me see if we have a table." We walked out. Found these little covids on their sidewalk. read more

Our experience was mediocre. Got the blackened shirt and the bed of corn was not good. The saffron rice was good and the shrimp was good. My wife got the salmon risotto. The salmon was $8 up charge and we have had better salmon at home That was the mediocre. The bad. Overcharged is $4 on wine. Charge me $2 for soup the waitress told me was include with my meal. We got it all fixed with the manager, but what an evening spoiler to have to get this stuff fixed. I don't trust the place to charge me correctly. By the lack of business they had a 8pm on a Saturday, I would say the they have lost business. read more
