It had been awhile! We went for Valentine's Day (our 33rd!) a day early, with reservations this time. We were seated in the window, a quiet table, which was perfect. The food was INCREDIBLE. We shared the Pork Belly starter which was perfection. Crispy edges, perfectly complementary sauce and garnish. I like the smaller menu, with carefully curated selections. My husband tried the salmon and shared a bit with me. Im totally get it next time haha! Our waiter was perfectly attentive, and the owner was visible and helpfully running the reception and seating. It was a full house! Tolon recently turned 10 years old. Best wishes for many more! A true asset to Firt Wayne. Plus. THOSE FRITES.

Been here many times, and it's probably the best restaurant Fort Wayne has to offer. The food is usually good. Service was very good this time. Sometimes it ranges from okay to great. Ambiance is typical, nothing terribly unique. Buttermilk Drop Biscuits - $10 - Best biscuits I've ever had. The outside was crispy and the inside perfectly fluffy. They are very big biscuits. The blueberry jam was delicious and the butter was nicely whipped. This is a must have. 5/5 stars. Cheeseburger - $23 - Also best burger you'll ever have. The smash patties have a lot of maillard reaction, and the homemade boursin cheese is to die for. We substituted the chips for duck fat fries, but for me, this was disappointing. The fries weren't crispy. They were plentiful, just not the right texture. I remember getting the fries before and it was cooked better. Burger is a 5/5 stars must try, the fries were like a 2/5 at best. Campechano Tacos - $18 - The flavor of the tacos is spot on, and it's a little oily, which I like. The problem is that there needs to be a salsa. The menu states "salsa matcha", which googling that tells me it's like a chili oil but mexican style. It's not enough to keep the tacos from eating a bit dry. The only relief was from some pineapple chunks. It needs a normal salsa to stop it from eating so dry. 4/5 stars. Strawberry Pretzel Cheesecake - $14 - Fantastic cheesecake. The cheesecake had good flavor and consistency. The strawberries were good. The pretzel crust was interesting, but I liked it. $14 is a bit steep. Maybe $10 and I'd be ok with the price, but all the desserts on the menu are a bit expensive here. But whatever, you'll be happy with the dessert. 5/5 stars. House Old Fashion - $13 - Husband said he loved it. They "leveled up" from last time. He thinks they have one of the best old fashion drinks. 5/5 stars.

Amazing and inventive chicken breast entree with delicious carrots and creamy thyme sauce.

This restaurant is a gem. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant website makes a big point about how welcoming the restaurant is, and it is true. I was treated very warmly and genuinely so. The restaurant also was creative and inventive with its food, decor, and small touches. I scoped out the downtown restaurants as a visitor to Fort Wayne and think this must be one of the best restaurants. I am so glad that I found it and had the Tolon experience.

Love this place and the vibe. Recommended a cocktail for me that I loved. Smoked savers with Hamer 10 bourbon so smooth and good. Food was excellent and service was top-notch.

We were passing through Fort Wayne and thought we would try this place based on Yelp reviews. Walking into Tolon. It was a nice atmosphere. You could definitely dress up and make it a nice night out or be more relaxed feel comfortable. The parking is a little tricky but it is downtown. Loved the recommendations of our waiter and how he described the food helped us make good decisions. We started out with the Tomatoes and also the Pork Belly. The tomatoes were fresh and light. But the pork belly was so so yummy. Loved the taste of it. My husband got the ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection. I got the scallops. They were by far the best scallops I have had. Cooked perfectly and the sauce and additions to this meal were great also. They complimented it really good. We had the Chocolate cake to finish. And although it was good. I would have rather had some more of the scallops. The service was top notch and I would definitely come back here.

Enjoyed visit to Tolon. Rabbit pot pie was unique and tasty. Tomato appetizer nice and fresh. Fries decent, could be crispier. Atmosphere great. Parking not the best but okay. Service fine.

Jerk Pork Chop is a must have

Awesome food. Awesome service. Great drinks. Craft and a Hell if a selection. Knowledge staff. Chef at this restaurant is out of this world. The pork chop is hands down the best I've ever had. It's a bone in beast.

Wow! Had a STELLAR experience at Tolon from the moment we stepped inside. Fantastic service, incredible food and a completely solid vibe across the board. No idea if the crispy pork belly with cornbread waffle is a menu staple, but we'd travel across the country to have it again. That said? Every. Single. Dish. Was phenomenal. Our only regret was not making room for dessert.

We loved this place & would have stayed longer to drink if we didn't have tickets to a show. Everything was great. We had to order two deviled egg appetizers because it was so good. Best pork I've had in a long time!

    Perfect Whiskey Sour $16

I was attracted to this restaurant based on the high reviews. Then, at another local restaurant in town, our server recommended this place for their food and cocktails. We went here our 3rd night in town, and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The Tolon Whiskey sour was perfectly prepared and went down so smoothly, I had two (most unusual for me). My wife enjoyed her rye whiskey cocktail, the Lady & Chef. Lyndsey, our server was engaging, personable and professional in her taking care of us. And, the food was excellent. There were many choices on the diverse menu from which to make our final selection. We shared a grilled shrimp dish for a starter which was a great start to the dining portion of our evening ($22). My wife enjoyed her grilled chicken over roasted cabbage ($34), and my bucatini pasta with bison meat ($38) was tremendously enjoyed. All exquisitely presented. We were too well sated to have dessert, yet left most contented. A great choice and would eagerly return.

But then you're presented with this shiny chandelier, illuminating this wide chamber, and hovering over a smooth, curved bar. The sides of this huge dining space are lined with dining tables, and walls lined with artwork, making the name quite appropriate. Subtle haloes of light dot the ceiling, and the color palette of the place (besides that big ol' chandelier) is dark, cool, and easy on the eyes. I took a seat at the main bar and was served within minutes. I enjoyed some light pop, rap, and classic rock tunes bumping in the background while I sipped on a delightful Smoked Apple Reserve. Every sip was a punch of sweetness, followed by an air of smokiness, and just a splash of herby aftertaste. It was however, not the kind of drink you could chug, so I sipped slowly throughout my meal. I'll have to come back for the appetizers, as I hear they're the star of the show, but neither the flatbreads nor the traditional bar-fare excited me. Thanks to Yelp though, I learned of the Blueberry and Brie Grilled Cheese, which I'd initially dismissed due to my dislike of Brie - the cheese and her portrayal of Captain Marvel, let's be honest. But I gave it a chance and ~woah~ it was something else. First of all, it's a perfectly cooked grilled cheese, with a flaky, crunchy exterior and addictingly cheesy inside, however I was ~taken aback~ by the flavor. I think I honestly had a Ratatouille moment, where that flavor of berry compote transported me to my childhood, chowing down on blueberry pancakes on Friday morning before school. At the same time, it doesn't dominate the flavor profile - it adds a subtle and satisfying sweetness to the creamy richness of the melted Brie, and it does it oh so well. The plentiful pieces of proscuitto provided some palatable protein, while also being a contrast in flavor and feel to the Berry and Brie. The fries were a little heavy on the straight potato flavor and not so much on seasoning and salt, but some garlic aioli did the trick there. The service was superb and the atmosphere was nothing like I've experienced in this city. I didn't expect to love this place as much as I did, but I can't wait to come back to try more apps, drinks, and return to that beautiful blueberry and brie...

I thought the sandwich would come with more peppers and ooze with cheese, but it did not. The Mac & cheese was just kinda there. It didn't do much to ramp up the tastes. The noodles were very soft - almost squishy. There was a mild amount of sauce to the noodles. I would prefer more...enough that you would want to dip the bread in the leftover sauce. Bubba's has been open in the old Chili's location now for more than 4 months. They seem like they have hit a steady-state so it's time for a review. The facility is very large and very popular. They were very busy on this particular Saturday evening. Our quoted wait time was 45-55 minutes. I overhead people commenting that they had been waiting over an hour. You can manage this issue by accessing the website and putting your name on the wait list. Bubba's spacious front porch makes a nice waiting area on a warm evening. Inside there isn't as much comfortable waiting spaces. Once inside you will find a large wide open seating area with an industrial ceiling. Booths are closely lined up to maximize seating. There is a very large & neonly-attractive bar area to the south side of the facility. TV's line to perimeter of the dining area. The walls contain typical sport and bar neon decor items. Overall a very electric and energetic atmosphere. People everywhere. Volume gets a bit loud making it a challenge to talk at your table. The team here was well organized and hustled. They were friendly while very focused on getting the tasks done. Our waitress took the time to serve us well. Plenty of wait and kitchen staff to keep things moving - well done! Bubba's has a very large menu with decent/expected prices. There are American food selections for everyone. The drink menu was large and attractive as well. Seemed odd that there were no prices on the drink menu - we had to ask only to get an "approximate" cost. Fortunately the drink prices were about what you would expect. Here is a run down on the food we ordered: -Onion Rings: simply outstanding! Thick onion piece enclosed in a thick batter. Batter was slightly crispy & seasoned, no over the top oily taste. Chipotle/BBQ/smoked Bubba's specialty sauce was a good add -Fried Pickles: not as impressive as the onion rings. Pickle chips are thin with a mild-bland dill taste. The breading is moderately thick and more crunchy. Seems like it had a touch of corn meal type flavoring. The home made ranch dressing had a mild ranch taste that didn't accent the pickle flavor as much as I had hoped. -Shrimp Tacos: my wife liked her fresh tasting tacos. Moist, tender and tangy. The crispy tots were a big hit as well. -Patriot Burger: very good beef taste, large patty loaded with all the toppings. The BBQ sauce and onion ring were excellent adds -Wings: I have a detailed review on the wings page. These medium to large wings were perfectly cooked and then lightly fried. The skins we're moderately crispy. The garlic Parmesan sauce had a heavy garlic flavor. Real Parmesan cheese was mixed with the garlic/oil mixture. The Sweet Chipotle BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and had a lower level of BBQ spice. Both were sauces with good flavor. Bubba's has settled in well. They seem to be executing their model pretty well. The menu has something for everyone. Next visit I will try the pizza as I've heard glowing reviews about the pizza. The food we selected was very tasty and the team hustled to serve. On the downside..I will admit this atmosphere was "bigger" than my expectations. The wait was long - despite using the wait list feature. The crowd was large and very "busy" coming and going. The volume was a bit loud causing our table of four to raise our volume. Overall...Bubba's is worth a try if you like American style food. Use the wait list feature. Be prepared for a busy/active dining experience.

The restaurant is definitely a sports bar. Large TVs line every wall. The decor is Americana. While it's loud when it's full, it just adds to the energy of the place. My husband and I both ordered the Shotgun Shrimp Po' Boy. He had Fire Fries and I had the loaded tots. The Po' Boy was loaded with shrimp and the Shotgun sauce is delicious! Hubbys Fire Fries had quite a kick, but so good! And my loaded tots were delicious! I highly recommend you get yourselves to Bubbas 33.
