They were quick, and allowed us enough time to review the menu. They also answered all questions we had. The ambiance is certainly more of a takeout facility with a few outdoor bench seats. It's always great when the local bbq is your favorite! Conveniently located on EB between Jenkins and Graysville, easy access for all the Ooltewah-bound traffic on the way home from work. Most Chattabbq is way overpriced, Choo Choo keeps it affordable to feed a large family with serious good eats. The family meal deal is a bargain but note that you cannot mix and match sides, you'll need to add them on if you want green beans, fries, tots, etc. Highly recommend the Crazy BBQ fries and the BBQ quesadilla on top of the normal by-the-pound smoked meats. Ribs are average but not exceptional. Pork is amazeballs. read more

Choo Choo BBQ is my go to restaurant in East Brainerd. The food is good, service speedy and prices are unbeatable. Sometimes I even buy their smoked chicken by the pound so I can make home made chicken soup! The smoked chicken adds incredible flavor to the soup and it's a better value than buying chicken breasts and taking the time to cook it myself. read more

I have been coming to Choo Choo for years and today this place lost my business. I ordered corn nuggets which were $4 and got 5 small ones in the bag. I also got fried pickles with ranch. Don't ever go there. I've been told to fuck off twice all because I ask after awhile about the order nicely. I guess they are rude to white customers too but only tell the black ones to fuck off. All because I asked about my order. One girl two years ago tried to fight me and a diy there had to hold her back. I ask about a doordash order politely after 15 min because another driver came up and asked and got his. He told me I don't know with an attitude. I say I'm just asking because I know they are busy and different people are working ... I said why are you being so rude to me for no reason... he said your impatient and to FUCK a off. I said you fuck off. Like who says that!?! They had already lost me as a customer but to treat me like that again. I texted the customer exactly what he said and how he treated me and maybe re-think supporting this business. I have never been treated like this anywhere. These people don't care how they treat people. I would never be disrespectful to anyone who works in food service unless they were crappy to me and they just were not only rude and disrespect to me from the get go... one girl came after me physically and this guy just immediately told me to fuck off. Not the friendliest place. Matter of fact, the guy working the window looked at me like he hated me, but we had been driving for two hours and needed to eat and all the other BBQ joints seemed to be closed on Mondays. There are no bathrooms and no inside seating, so don't go here if you aren't taking it home or don't want to be sweaty and smokey when you leave. Now for the food... Rib platter was actually pretty good. Ribs were tender and the sauce was good. Beans tasted canned but weren't awful. Potato salad was good and you could tell they use sweet pickle. Sweat tea was really good and I would have loved more but I didn't feel like I could ask for more. Overall the food was decent but I don't like feeling like I am not welcome, so I can't recommend the place. Fortunately for me, I don't live in the area and will most definitely never be back. I have always been a fan of this place, but this last visit will be it. The Pork Platter was skimpy in the Pork and sides. It had barely a full cup of meat and maybe 10/12 pieces of Fried Okra. The Baked Beans were the usual. The Full Order of Ribs were good, but the order of Potato Logs that went with them were 4 pieces of potato that were the size of French Fries. We loved this BBQ spot! The sweet guys at the oil change place down the street referred us because we were visiting from out of town and it was truly amazing! So why am I giving a tiny drive thru off the beaten track in Chattanooga 5 stars? Because Yelp does not offer 6. As these Yankees wended their way to the coast, BBQ was on our minds. Deprived of this culinary classic in New England, we salivated over the plethora of BBQ joints and stopped at our fair share. Come Chattanooga at lunch time and our pal Yelp we decided upon Choo Choo not realising it was lacking indoor or much outdoor seating - thus we grabbed our order and headed to Lookout Mountain (15 min was) and some place to tear into the best smelling styrofoam containers ever. Found a roadside picnic table - opened the lid - and found heaven! Pulled pork tender and moist with a drizzle of vinegar-based sauce and the smoke....sigh! Sides of the best fried okra, mayonnaise based potato salad and coleslaw and they give a buttered and toasted piece of Texas toast just in case. The drive up the mountain and the addition of a new Starbucks in Rock City added to our enjoyment. Choo Choo is consistently good. We frequently stop by for the pork family meal deal. It's a steal for the amount of food and the pork is always top notch. We usually substitute the slaw and potato salad for green beans and mashed potatoes. Last night, we tried the new Mac and cheese and it's the best I've had in a long time. Regrets. I have more than a few. Big disappointment. Based on some Yelp reviews, I decided to try this place using Eat24/Grubhub while traveling, staying at a Residence Inn. Mistake on many counts. BBQ wasnt anything special at all. Bland would be kind. The crispy french fries I ordered were not crispy as much a scraps of tough crewy potatoes. the baked beans were as bland as the BBQ. But even worse was the fact that two corn dogs were missing when the order was delivered but, of course, wasnt noticed until after the driver departed. Called Grubhub customer service (in Chicago) and they discovered the small highway side eatery had closed for the day. Still waiting to hear back from Grubhub about refund for missing food, the tax and gratuity on it. (yes, the corndogs for delivery were kinda expensive - the whole order was over $27) read more

Very dry bbq pork. Dry like it was made days before, frozen and thawed more than once. They put sauce on it instead of on the side. I suspect this is done due to the dryness. Stopped by for a late dinner (7:45) on our way back from a day in Chattanooga to Knoxville. Glad we did. They closed at 8, but you wouldn't know it. I recently had this restaurant cater a wedding rehearsal dinner and I can't say enough positives about how good the food was and the whole process of ordering and scheduling right down to the delivery. The business was helpful to me as I was from out of town and was worried about the set up etc. Jeff was great to help me and my family and people from all over the US come together for a fantastic meal. A shout out to Bruce who helped me on the phone the day of the scheduled dinner. The delivery was spot on! These folks came through for this gal from out of town. Also I got more compliments than I could count on how delicious everything was. There was more than enough food for the dinner, especially meat. I was very pleased with my experience. First off the staff acts like they don't want to be there and has a very bad attitude. I love the barbecue here but it's very frustrating when you clearly place an order with specific instructions and it's ALWAYS wrong. Went there yesterday. A guy who works there (wears hat and glasses on top of them) ..not sure if he's a manager or owner. Extremely hostile and obnoxious! I had a call in order, got there to pick up and he told me 5 minutes. I went to my car and back up to window about 6 minutes later. He then opened the window again and said look this order is gonna be at least 5 MORE minutes. I just bowed my head and then he said hey we're busy and in a smart aleck tone he said ...it's gonna be ok. So I once again went back to my car and told my husband I'm not going back to that window again, you're going to have to go get the food. He went up to the window ten minutes later and told the guy he was there for our food. He then made HIM wait and my husband sat at the picnic table for twenty more minutes. My husband could see at the window he had our food packed up and ready to go..he just made him wait on purpose! Never again am I going back. The food isn't worth being mistreated. Stopped in and grabbed a family pulled pork meal. Meat, buns, sauce and three sides for about $17.00. I was very impressed! The meat was smoky and delicious and the hot sauce was good and spicy but what set the meal off were the baked beans and the fried okra! Definite must haves. I've had good barbecue in Missouri, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina and Texas just to name a few states. Each state has its only specialty and preference i.e. Texans love brisket.
