To be honest, barbecue should stand on its own without sauce and sauce should only be there to enhance the flavor. The meat was tender, but I couldn't really get a feel for the flavor of the meat because the sauce interfered with that. The pulled pork plate was good. Also, my girlfriend said she enjoyed that. But again, sauce should come on the side in my opinion. I have no real complaint against this place, but I wish I had known ahead of time that the ribs came with sauce on them and I wish that I had known that there were only four ribs on the plate, I would've ordered a whole rack. Unfortunately, the smoked wings were a letdown. They had a fatty underdone texture that was unappealing. It was almost as if a step was missed in the cooking process. They were just too soft for my liking. Also, I'm not a fan of Jalapeño Cornbread. I prefer my Cornbread without the jalapeños, but I ate most it anyway. For some reason, the Jalapeño Cornbread had a dish soap taste to it. It was weird. On the positive side, the baked beans were flavorful with a nice kick, and the potato salad was just as good as I remembered. Is Edley's still our go-to BBQ spot? Absolutely!
