This walk-up restaurant is located off of Hixson Pike near the Krystal's. We wanted BBQ and decided to try this spot! Brisket sandwich: 5* tender, juicy, flavor - everything you desire! BBQ sauce wasn't even needed. Meatloaf sandwich: 3.5* Meaty slice but quite dry, it needed the sauce Sampler (because we wanted to try all the meats): 4* pulled pork - great flavor, goes well with the BBQ; beef sausage - casing had a good snap to it and deep flavor; Rib tips - our least favorite, they were tough/chewy. Four sides: 4.5* Smokey Mac n cheese - creamy and not overly smoked, really well done! Ranch baked beans: flavor on point and beans nicely cooked. Pasta salad: what a delicious surprise! A variety of ingredients, not boring at all! Okra - hot and crispy and a HUGE portion. Not sure how they stayed crispy on the drive home. They were a little greasy but that was the only negative. Plenty of parking and you can sit in your car with a buzzer while you wait. There is also picnic tables to eat outside if you wish. This BBQ SLAPS! I pulled in and saw everyone waiting and knew this is something I want to indulge in. A quick look at the menu and I wanted brisket and beef sausage, slaw and oh my, smoked chicken salad. Yes please! Then I saw the hot dogs, a smoked beef dawg with slaw and brisket, please and thank you! I took the pound of brisket, pound of beef sausage, slaw and chicken salad, put it in the passenger seat and dove into the J Dawg (I think). DAYUM! It was spiritual! A taste bud revival for my soul. A cute little hole in the wall spot for your bbq meals. Sweet tea is super sweet like its supposed to but I usually water down my sweet teas. Alittle sad they ran out of corn bread but staff is nice. I had the pulled pork and collard greens with Mac n cheese. Food was great for good price. Im from CA and my plate would of cost me $30-$40. I would recommend trying this place forsure. read more

Chef Q easily has the best BBQ in the Chattanooga area. I grew up on the competition bbq circuit and was trained as a certified bbq judge and I was always disappointed in the Chattanooga bbq scene. But today I went to Chef Q and fell in love with the food. The pork was tender and saucy, the turkey was tender and moist, but above all the brisket was some of the best I've had in Tennessee. We have dined twice there.The smoked meats taste good only they need to cut down on the salt . A lot of salt in the meats..Very tasty if you enjoy sauce on the meat. I suppose we are used to NC style meats, apple cider vinegar flavored, no sauce needed. Just a preference in Smoked meats. We thought we would try the place because they have a stuffed potato. Perhaps those that gave this essentially a food truck 4 & 5 star ratings have never tasted authentic Southern BBQ. I don't know. But what we ate tonight was incredibly bad. Pork & brisket were mushy & flavorless, even with their sauce. Mushy usually means they've used too much tenderize or the meats are old. Baked beans were good. Potato salad filled with mayo, but no flavor. Collard greens so tasteless they were inedible. A huge disappointment; won't be returning. read more

We tried this out based on the reviews and were not disappointed. We both had smoked chicken sandwiches, which come with cole slaw. The BBQ was delicious with the perfect amount of smokiness. The blackberry BBQ sauce was amazing. You have to either get it to go or eat outside but you will not be disappointed. read more

Holy Jesus! Couldn't decide between smoked chicken or smoked meatloaf so I ordered one of each. I instinctively knew that blackberry sauce would be good with smoke chicken but it's unbelievably good on the meatloaf as well. The meatloaf itself is awesome! It tastes like mine! The smoked chicken slices were spot on. Any Gomer can smoke a pork butt. Getting chicken perfect requires a bit more Kung foo. Let's talk about that blackberry sauce. I would buy it by the gallon.
