Smoked Mac&Cheese is so freaking good

recently found out about this place & haven't been let down yet! BBQ is super tender and not dry in the slightest- the sides are also a highlight! nice outdoor seating too

Pulled pork with collard greens and mac and cheese

A cute little hole in the wall spot for your bbq meals. Sweet tea is super sweet like its supposed to but I usually water down my sweet teas. Alittle sad they ran out of corn bread but staff is nice. I had the pulled pork and collard greens with Mac n cheese. Food was great for good price. Im from CA and my plate would of cost me $30-$40. I would recommend trying this place forsure.

Brisket, chicken, beef sausage, pulled pork, greens, mac n cheese and salad!

The food here is amazing! I highly recommend the pulled pork and the brisket. Their sausages are also delicious, and the macaroni and cheese is like nothing I've ever tried before! I really loved the greens, and the ambiance of eating on the front porch was really quite lovely as well. Such a kind staff with amazing customer service. Highly recommend you come try it for yourself!

Yummm! Catfish & shrimp were delicious- not greasy, so good! The Q-dog & broccoli salad were filling and tasty.

Best tasting pulled pork that I've eaten in 65 years. The smoked meat loaf is outstanding and the sauce is perfect.

We got several platters (chicken and pork) and various sides. Everything was so good and tasted like your family made it for you. Some standout items: the coleslaw is super finely chopped which gives it a really good texture, flavor is great. The potato salad was creamy and perfectly seasoned. The pork was so Smokey and tender. Their sauce is super great, would pour that on everything. The fried okra was so tasty, we ate every piece. They have so much cheese in the poppers, delicious. If you're passing through the East Ridge area of Chattanooga, I highly suggest checking out this awesome spot for great food at an even better price. Thanks for the great experience!

The food was good, but the major drawback is that a large plate only had four ribs, one of which you could barely call a rib. The second, drawback for me is that the ribs came with sauce already on them. That's like a major no-no in my book. I know, everybody has their preference, but I prefer to sauce my own food if I feel that it's necessary. To be honest, barbecue should stand on its own without sauce and sauce should only be there to enhance the flavor. The meat was tender, but I couldn't really get a feel for the flavor of the meat because the sauce interfered with that. The pulled pork plate was good. Also, my girlfriend said she enjoyed that. But again, sauce should come on the side in my opinion. I have no real complaint against this place, but I wish I had known ahead of time that the ribs came with sauce on them and I wish that I had known that there were only four ribs on the plate, I would've ordered a whole rack. Prices are good, the place is clean, and as I said, the owners are very welcoming and warm people. Give this place a go, it's worth a trip! But just ask questions before you order!

Parking is right in front of the building on a gravel surface. There are only about four marked spaces but there is more parking along the side of the building if needed. This is primarily a take out spot, although there are a few seats under the awning along with several picnic tables with umbrellas to the side. You go up three steps to the window to order. The menu is below the window and includes the expected items. I ordered the special, which was a pork sandwich, logs, and a drink. The logs are chunks of potato deep fried like French fries. My sandwich was ready in under five minutes. It would have been quicker except the logs were freshly made. No complaints either way. The sandwich was good but not great. The pork had a slight smoked flavor but the meat was a bit dry. The slaw and bbq sauce helped. The logs are indeed chucks of potato, and I got a lot of them. I was certainly full after finishing. Truth be told, I also finished off the pork that fell out of my sandwich as well. Dixie is certainly a viable option for a quick lunch.

If you pull at the meat, there's a solid chance all of it will come right off the bone. I ordered spare ribs and corn, and both came out very quickly. The ribs were obviously the highlight, but the corn was really good too. Since you order at a counter near the entrance, it's a little hard to fully rate the service, but the process was simple and efficient. They also gave us cabbage to feed the goats outside, which was unique and fun. The seating area is near windows with a great view of the mountains, which makes the experience even better. I downloaded Yelp just to write this review, so that should say enough. Definitely recommend Sugar's Ribs, especially for the spare ribs.

Neither were sauced and while the sauces on the table were plentiful, they were watered down. Too liquid to really stick to the meat and provide any flavor. Sad because the options looked interesting yet fell flat on taste. I absolutely loved the location. Up on hill, overlooking the skyline of Chattanooga was a beautiful site. It offered a relaxing diner feel with a good amount of space to enjoy my meal without other patrons being on top of me.

It also came with the infamous Hawaiian Mac salad, but it was salty to me. Keeping it in the container with the warm food didn't do it any favors. Is Hawaiian Mac salad typically warm? If so, not a fan. Molokai Chicken: chicken was tender, again a deep flavor but the spice it promised was not present - same sides as the other dish. Definitely tasty, we would go back to try other dishes and choose two rice or try the veggies. Plenty of parking if you want to dine in. 3 1/2 stars but rounding up instead of down.

The interior features bold teals and warm wood accents, creating an energetic, efficient environment. While it's designed for high-volume throughput, the open layout and upbeat island soundtrack make it a pleasant spot for a quick sit-down meal. It avoids the cluttered feel of many local diners, opting instead for a streamlined, digital-forward atmosphere that prioritizes speed and cleanliness. Service at the Hixson branch is notably consistent. The staff manages the "island pace" well--meaning they are friendly and welcoming--while maintaining the rapid-fire efficiency required for a busy lunch rush. Orders are typically ready within minutes of being placed, either via the kiosks or the front counter. Our order was out in less than 6 minutes after it was placed. The menu is a masterclass in "doing a few things perfectly." The core of the menu is the plate lunch: two scoops of white rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and a protein. Huli Huli Chicken is the signature dish. The chicken is grilled over an open flame and glazed with a sweet, savory teriyaki-style sauce. The Hixson location hits the mark on the char--providing those slightly caramelized edges that balance the sweetness of the pineapple-infused glaze. For those who prefer a bit of heat, my wife chose the Molokai Chicken. It uses the same tender thigh meat as the Huli Huli but introduces a spicy pepper profile. It's a "creeping" heat--not overwhelming at first, but it builds beautifully against the neutral backdrop of the white rice. In Hawaii, the "mac salad" can make or break a plate lunch. Hawaiian Bros serves a version that is creamy, heavy on the mayo, and purposefully soft. It is the essential cooling element that gives the Molokai chicken its spice. No visit to the Hixson location is complete without the Dole Soft Serve. It is dairy-free, gluten-free, and incredibly refreshing. The pineapple flavor is iconic, but if you want to level up, ask for a "twist" (if available) or simply enjoy the bright, acidic finish to a savory, protein-heavy meal. Our Final Verdict Hawaiian Bros Hixson brings a much-needed variety to the local food scene. It doesn't pretend to be fine dining; instead, it excels at serving high-quality, consistently comforting food with a tropical flair. It's an ideal spot for a reliable, flavorful lunch that feels slightly more "adventurous" than your standard burger or taco run. I recommended that you order the Large Molokai Chicken plate with an extra side of Mac Salad and a small Dole Soft Serve.
