Great food for a great price We love coming to Buddy's when visiting TN! I wish we had them in SC. We were with a large party and decided to try several different items. We had different flavor wings but honestly "naked" was my favorite! You can't go wrong with the brisket sandwich or the Smokey dog! They have the best slaw it reminded me of grandma's house on Sunday!! The hush puppies "very delicious" and not dry like some places! Buddy's is a great go to choice when wanting tasty BBQ fast! My first time eating at Buddy's. I went through the drive through to take it home. I ordered chicken wings, chili, and a concoction called Hawg Back fries (I chose pork). The wings were a tad salty but nothing a good dunk of ranch couldn't fix. The chili was "meh" so wouldn't order again; however, the Hawg Back fries were DELICIOUS! Pork was tender, the sauce was finger licking worthy, and the fries managed to stay hot and held some of their structure - aka they didn't turn to mush. The lady at the drive thru was very helpful and answered all my questions. I would definitely go back for the Hawg Back fries! Really a 3.5 rating read more

I love Buddy's! We frequent the Buddy's on 153 in Hixson, TN. The food is great, they have an extensive menu, and the restaurant is always clean. I really like their green beans and hush puppies. They are so good! The staff is always helpful and kind, especially Chip. He's helpful, offers suggestions, and makes sure we're enjoying our food. I highly recommend this restaurant. My one suggestion is that they out umbrellas out at the tables outside. I'd eat outside if there was shade. read more

The brisket has an amazing flavor, it's tender but rubbery, so it's a weird consistency. Vinegar/tomato based sauce. Baked beans are good but also have that from the can consistency. Hushpuppies were good. Hubby had the pulled pork and that was definitely tender. I'll get that next time. read more

Got take out for dinner. The pork sandwich was good, chili dog ok. I had the combo chicken, pork, ribs. Ribs tasted good but not much meat, pork was excellent and chicken was disappointing. The skin was like leather with very little meat ( I did ask for dark meat) Cole slaw fresh .... We did drive home (40 minutes) so it may have been better if we ate there. We have eaten at this location many times. Both the food and the service are always outstanding. This time however stood out but for all the wrong reasons. Our food sat on the counter for a long time while the cashier and another lady that worked there tried in vein to figure out what number comes after 56. Our number was 57. I saw everything we ordered sitting there. So I asked if that was our order they said no. Then they continued to argue if that food order was number 59 or 47. I explained the lady that ordered ahead of us was 56, we were 57 she had just gotten her order so the food sitting there had to be ours. after another five minutes(almost 15 mins in total) they decided that was our food. So I got the hog back fries. The fries were not only cold but under cooked. So they ha a slightly raw flavor to them. The pork was ice cold on top of the cold fries and the cheese was not even close to being melted. It too was ice cold. The only thing warm on my plate was the sour cream. So yes not at all good. They also forgot the hush puppies on my sons plate and the BBQ sauce on my husbands sandwich. all of that made it clear why the place was nearly empty at dinner time on a Friday. We really like this place and their food, but tonight it was so cold in there our food got cold before we could even eat half of it. We aren't going to pay the prices they charge for cold food. If this had been the first time going there we would not go back and if it is cold the next time we won't go back anymore then either. It was ridiculous how cold it was in there tonight. The food was average. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with fries and my wife had the Ribs Dinner plate with corn on the cob and French fries. The ribs were definitely the best thing we got, but living in the South, you get used to BBQ being mouth watering. Buddy's was like the Toyota of BBQ - gets you where you need to go, but not winning any shows doing it. Service was quick and friendly - as it should be. Kevin waited on my family and me today. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the business was quite clean. We had a potato, some corn and some pork sandwiches. When this place first opened the food was great and the service was great. My husband and I ate there at least twice a month. We went today for the fist time this month and the service was very slow. The food was still good. They did seem to be catering to the people in the drive thru more than the people dining in. It was not that busy. There were five couples while we were eating. This was the first and last time I have been here. I ordered a BBQ Pork potato. The potato was burnt on the outside and the inside was also a little burnt down in it. It was so hard and very dry. Ordered: Brisket Baked potato w/sauce and meat on side, 8 naked wings with mild sauce on the side, and pulled pork dinner with extra hush puppies and fries ... Also sauce on the side. Waited approximately 20 minutes at the drive thru window ... There was literally a car fire on Hixson Pike that we watched the fire department put out, load car on flatbed, and traffic resumed before we got our order. The order was correct, with the one exception that there were only two small cups of sauce for the whole order. Service wasn't only slow but was less than stellar ... The woman working the drive thru window handed us our food without a single word, leaving us to wonder if there was more to come or if everything was in the bag. As far as the quality of food, the pork was flavorless and the hush puppies were dense, dry, and flavorless. The sauce that we were given tasted like thin ketchup ... The consistency of a vinegar based sauce without that flavor. My wife reports that the brisket had decent flavor but was dry and sliced super thin. Overall, the experience left us not willing to come back. Fortunately there are plenty of other BBQ places to choose from. read more

I came to enjoy lunch with my brother. We ordered the ribs with baked beans and corn on the cob. The beans were refrigerator cold. I told the manager and she said, 'You let them sit and get cold". I told her they came cold. She was disrespectful and was busy worrying about the drive-thru and customers were standing at the front of the store waiting on food. The steam table h not been turned on. The ribs were visibly over cooked and the ends were charred. i was sick all afternoon! First let me start by saying we have eaten here many times in the past and it's always been great. However last night 4/11/2021 we had a terrible experience. We came in around 8:15 PM and knowing they close at 9 we decided to be considerate and order to go. We walked in to a very uncrowded dining room (only 2 tables with people eating) and a young man cleaning tables. We stood at the counter for several minutes while staff messed around behind the counter out of view of us. Finally the young man cleaning tables poked his head behind the counter and asked someone to please take our order to which a young woman refused stating "she was leaving". I should have left at this moment because I was already frustrated. After arguing with her for a few moments someone else in a black polo shirt (I'm assuming a manager?) emerged laughing from out of view and took our order. We ordered 6 meals for a total of $57 and some change. Then we sat at a table and waited for our food. 15 to 20 minutes passed and no one had called us for our food but we noticed bags on the counter. My wife went up to the counter and kindly asked the young man that had previously been cleaning tables of that was our food to which he very rudely replied "I don't know. I don't even know what your ordered " COME ON ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? How rude can you possibly be!? Then the lady in the black polo emerged from out of view again and asked us how many meals we where supposed to have (she took our order and no one else's since then you would think she would know) we repeated what our order was and she checked that it was all there and gave us our sauces and we left. So our food was just sitting there and had we not gone up to check I don't know if anyone would have said anything and we would have sat there waiting for who knows how long. Then we get down the road about 10 minutes away and go to eat our food and it was not good at all. The ribs where dry like they had set under a heat lamp all day more like beef jerky than anything else. Hardly any meat on most of them. Most the food was cold, fries where soggy. Hush puppies where hard and cold. All around it was very disappointing. As stated earlier we have eaten there before and always had great experiences. Not this time. I will have a hard time coming back after this experience. I don't. Typically leave reviews, positive or negative, but having ran my own store in the past I would want to know about such a disappointing experience so I could address it with my staff. read more

my fiancé and i came here after receiving an ad in the mail just for the hot fudge cake but it smelled so good we decided to stay and do dinner. i'm so glad we did! i had a pulled pork sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. the bun was toasted perfectly and the bbq sauce was INCREDIBLE. the hushpuppies were better than most bbq places i've been to and the fries were good as well. the hot fudge cake was super yummy. they were extremely busy when we walked in and the staff worked hard to get the line down and keep the customers happy. aaliyah helped us out basically the entire night and she was just absolutely wonderful. super pleasant and kind and offered to help us out with everything-including things that aren't her job- and was super apologetic about the wait and just delightful. this will definitely be added to our list of date night spots!! read more
