A good place to get a meal in the Hixson area. Off the Farm Barbeque in Hixson, TN, is located on the south side of Dayton Pike road in a building shared with another business. There is not a large parking lot or a large inside eating are inside but don't let that stop you. Their food is very good and they provided a wonderful experience for our recent event. Facing a tight schedule, we reached out to them with an early morning request for a large order. They opened their doors ahead of regular hours to accommodate our group and order. This level of customer service is truly commendable and speaks volumes about their dedication to their customers. Their genuine friendliness made the pickup process quick, smooth, and enjoyable. The food was excellent. The smoked meats were tender and flavorful. The beans were delicious. Each side dish complemented the mains perfectly. In my opinion, Off the Farm Barbeque has established itself as a great place for bbq in the local community. Their commitment to quality food and exceptional service is shown in their food and interactions. Overall, it was a very nice experience. For anyone in the Chattanooga area looking for good barbeque, Off the Farm Barbeque is a must-visit.

We became Soddy-Daisyians just this past Spring, but we discovered Wimpies, well over a year ago…read morewhen we started our journey to move out this way. I am a breakfast guy and Wimpies is exactly what you'd expect from a local "greasy spoon" establishment: good food, good service from super friendly (sometimes playfully snarky) waitstaff, comfortable and clean dining area. It is my go-to for a local breakfast meet or even if I just want to get out of the house! They know how to cook eggs to order as well as your meat (I like my bacon done!), and their biscuits are awesome (most of the time). Now, for the reason I dropped one star... We've patronized them for dinner a handful of times and their dinner fare is good. They always have a homespun set of daily specials along with their standard dishes that include sandwiches (burgers, chicken), meat and threes, fish and the food has generally been very good. The problem I have with the dinner shift is the inconsistency in service! We've been for dinner and received the same good service we get in the morning, but more often than not the waitstaff is not up to par. In fact, I wouldn't say they were up to triple bogey! Our last time there we waited more than 15min before anyone visited us. The young gal didn't get either of our orders 100% correct. We couldn't bring it up because she disappeared for 10+min at a time so we just ate what we got! When we did get her her ability to retain the request from our table to the back-of-house (maybe 12-15') and back was abysmal! Once she even stopped to talk to a colleague and that was that. We never got that request fulfilled. We haven't been back for dinner since. Not sure I could get my wife to go. Anyway, the bottom line is, breakfast...most definitely, dinner...you might be rolling the dice. If you care less about service and just want some tasty dinner food, then you are probably okay. ;-)

The service is superb, warm and inviting what you would expect from a southern style restaurant and very clean. The hot bard was always clean and fully stocked. We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated and we got our drink orders. The fried chicken was excellent. Some more of my favorites was the fried okra, wieners and sauerkraut, meatballs (specially seasoned) boiled cabbage, pasta salad, corn bread, banana pudding ( the best I have had in a long time} peach cobbler mmmmmm and they kept the cobbler and fresh cookies on a hot plate to keep them warm. What restaurant does that besides this one!? By the way the salad bar was well kept also. If those attention to details wasn't enough for you, the price includes your drink, and the coffee was so good I had 5 cups!

They come by often to ask if you need another dish. Only thing I did not care for was nanner pudd'n was dish of soggy Vanilla wafers about a tablespoon pudding & could only find 2 slices of banana. Will not order that again. They do cornbread the right way NO sugar. That's how I grew up eating cornbread & I love it. My Dad is from Virginia he said if it has sugar it's corn cake not corn bread. This is our 2nd time eating here. Here for TVA Sequoyah outage.
