Their burnt ends are incredible, pulled pork is second to none, and every meal has excellent as well as reasonably priced. Don't be fooled by the exterior appearance because this little family run business has some of the best BBQ in the south. The loaded potato (see picture) is huge and piled high with meat for $8.00. We also got a pulled pork sandwich, which was so good that there was nothing left to take a picture of. Please note it is takeout only, but there are several tables outside under an awning and that is where we had our lunch, and some very enjoyable conversations with local residents. My wife and I drove from Crossville, TN, back home to Dawsonville, GA. We planned to stop and eat along the way as we drove and were stopped at a traffic light on Highway 60 when we saw Dave's Spiced Right BBQ on the side of the road at the intersection of Highway 58. My wife looked up reviews on our Yelp app while we sat at the light and we decided to check this place out. It is a small, unassuming location that you could easily pass without noticing. I was watching traffic, and my wife noticed their sign with the slogan, "You Can Smell Our Butts For Miles." You walk inside to order at the counter and while it is a small area, it is moderately busy with people picking up orders they had called in. We were able to order quickly, but it took roughly ten minutes for our meals to be ready. Once we took our first bite, the time for them to prepare our meal was worth every minute. If you want to eat there, there are picnic tables on the front porch of the restaurant. There was no indoor seating or dining. We ordered the Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich Regular and it came with a small side of Slaw and a serving container of BBQ Sauce. The sandwich bun was large and very fresh. It was covered with pulled pork that was smoked with just the right amount of flavor from the Hickory. The pork was some of the most tender, juicy pulled pork we have had across the country. The sauce was a sweet sauce with a little tang. It complimented the sandwich well without being overpowering. The slaw was excellent. We will stop here in the future on all of our trips through the area. Excellent food and service. If we are heading home, I will pick up a 1 lb takeout of pulled pork to take back home, it is that good. read more

Great food to go! A+++ for the pulled pork sandwich. They put the sauce on the side so you have to add it yourself. It's awesome! We also had coleslaw, onion rings, fries, and baked beans. All were good. Too many flies outside to eat comfortably with my kids, but the food was perfect. read more

I have found the food (ribs) to be inconsistent, mostly bad and dry. I have never been able to get a call through to complain. And the voicemail has always been full- can't even leave a message. Maybe I'll give them another opportunity to earn my business in a year or two. I'm not willing to risk another disappointing meal anytime soon. read more

Picked up dinner here while passing through southbound on 75. My wife and I both had the jumbo pork sandwich, black eyed peas, and banana pudding. The BBQ was good, but perhaps we should not have gotten the jumbo bun because there was surprisingly little meat on both of our sandwiches. I ended up discarding half the bun and folding the other side in half, which made for a better meat-to-bun proportion! I also would have been happier if the meat had been warm... but I suppose that wasn't since it was close to closing... I guess it's a good thing that it wasn't warmed in a microwave! The black eyed peas and pork was delicious... a real treat. And, the banana pudding was wonderfully light... perfect. We were there shortly before closing, and I was surprised to see how busy it was... they are take-out only, and obviously do a brisk business! I am so glad I found this Bar B Q restaurant. On this Saturday morning, I woke up wanting to go to a restaurant I have never been before. More so, I wanted bar b q. So, I used Yelp to find this place. A little bit of history. Crossroads Cafe used to be here. They are now closed. It used to be in this very spot. Now it is called Dave's Spiced Right Bar B Q. The customer service is great. A pretty face waited on me and she was smiling too. It could have been all the camouflage I had on. I did have camo coveralls on, warm camo boots, and a Chevy hat. But, considering theres people riding up to businesses on horses like it's the 1800's, I think I'm in the so called "in group" sort to speak. On the other hand, I'd rather drive in my Chevy Silverado like the rest of ( today's society). Menu items ordered: Bar b q pork sandwich, baked beans, and a coke. The side items I ordered and or came with it were; coleslaw, pickle, small bag of lays potato chips, and BBQ sauce, I have to say I enjoyed this BBQ in this "horse town". If people ride their horses still in a town and they have a BBQ restaurant. It is the simple truth: you can bet their BBQ is good. The baked beans were delicious as I believe they are Bush's baked beans, if I had to guess, but I don't know what flavor. The BBQ sauce they gave me I put in my refrigerator for another day. I have my own BBQ sauce that I use. They put a pickle up under your sandwich so don't forget about that. Now, I did taste the BBQ sauce and it is good as it is spicy and sweet. Next time, I will use it. They have outside seating only. When you walk in, you order and pay and sit on the church pew for your order to get ready. There is also a sign that says "take out only", but you can sit outside when the weather is right. In summary, I would say they opened about a year ago. So it is fairly new. I will be back again because I enjoyed the scenic view coming here and of course the BBQ sandwich. There's a sign out front that says "You can smell our butts for miles". Just zoom in on picture taken at front of store. As far as the horses in town, just check out the pictures of hay in front of this restaurant. I have talked to this guy riding in town on a horse. I asked why and he stated that vehicles costs too much to keep running. read more

Ribs were dried out and way over smoked. Potato salad was without any seasoning. Baked beans were so sweet they tasted like a dessert. Pulled pork had no flavor. The ribs here are awesome! They are spare ribs rather than baby back and are very meaty and excellently smoked. Pulled pork is good also. Sauce is made on site and has a touch of heat that I like. For sides I recommend their potato salad and pork and peas. read more

The BBQ is amazing, ribs, pulled pork, etc. Best place in Hamilton and Bradley County. I always come to visit when I am home in TN. You can also get just pork & peas with some cornbread if you don't want a full plate. They also serve big hamburgers and giant hot dogs. The various homemade desserts are worth the drive, too. My kids love the banana pudding, but I prefer the strawberry cream pie or chocolate cream pie. By the way, this is mainly a take out place. There are a couple of tables out front, but not much seating overall. A good, old-fashioned BBQ place to pick something up on your lunch break or to take back home. Don't bother with the places in Cleveland. Head on out to the corner of highway 58 & 60 for the real deal. read more
